My daughter’s wedding was absolutely perfect, and Breanna Rolleand and the team at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia played a huge role in making it that way. Breanna helped us throughout the entire process. Whether it was guiding us step by step through the selection process, answering the hundreds of crazy questions we had, or simply checking in, she made sure everything was taken care of. As the father of the bride, I was prepared to shoulder the stress so everyone else could enjoy themselves. Thanks to Breanna, even I could relax and enjoy the celebration.
From the time we stepped out of our car on Thursday and Perry helped unload our bags to the time we left for home on Sunday and Perry helped load our car in the pouring rain, I could not have imagined a better weekend. Breanna and the team at the Kimpton made sure everything we brought for the wedding was in the right place and ready for us to take home afterward. From placing our welcome signs and QR photo cards to handling all the little details we requested, the team took care of it all. Truly exceptional.
The wedding went off without any issues, with Breanna helping us through both the rehearsal and the actual wedding processional. The cocktail hour on the rooftop Stratus Lounge was beautiful, and dinner was announced by the booming voice of Bernardo, who made sure we all made our way downstairs to the reception. The meals were outstanding, and guests with special dietary restrictions were easily accommodated. Breanna oversaw everything and stayed well into the reception to make sure the event was flawless. We didn’t have a separate wedding coordinator, but Breanna provided that level of guidance and attention to detail, going above and beyond what we expected. Even the next morning, at our farewell brunch, Bernardo was there once again to make sure the meal service ran smoothly. (We think he lives there.)
Everyone we spoke with praised the experience, which says so much about the care that went into the entire weekend. Breanna and the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia team were simply amazing. I cannot recommend Breanna, Perry, Bernardo, the rest of the hotel staff, and the venue highly enough. Six out of five stars.

She made the entire process seamless and stress free. She put any nerves I had at ease & made me feel like I’ve know her for years!
Everyone involved from valet to check-in, service staff to housekeeping and everyone in between was so friendly and accommodating. Our Maître D, Bernardo was 10/10, hands down amazing. He was with us throughout the entire weekend and quickly became everyone’s favorite! He was so kind and attentive. From our tasting, to our rehearsal, reception and brunch - Bernardo didn’t miss a beat! A truly beautiful soul inside and out - who takes pride in his position and is fabulous at his job!
The bartenders, service and management staff during our rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, reception and brunch were incredibly kind, checking in with us to ensure everything was going according to plan. The attention to detail was exceptional.
The newly acquired Thomas Jefferson garden outdoor ceremony space option proved to be truly beautiful! It was everything I had pictured and more!

The venue itself was absolutely stunning and exactly what we had envisioned for our wedding. Every member of the staff was kind, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran seamlessly. The food was phenomenal, and we received countless compliments from our guests about both the food and the drinks all night long.
Hotel Monaco was also absolutely beautiful. Nearly all of our family and friends stayed there, and despite it being an incredibly busy weekend with the start of the World Cup, the accommodations were excellent. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed, and our guests loved spending time at Red Owl Tavern before and after the wedding.
Overall, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful to Katie and the entire Stratus team for making our day unforgettable. We would recommend them 10 out of 10 for any wedding or special event!

Katie Killman is a fantastic coordinator and the entire staff was lovely during the weekend, from Sage the bellhop who was so helpful multiple times with all our luggage and requests, to the server for the sweetheart table who was so attentive to my husband and I, to the bartenders at the wedding who greeted my husband and I by name, . The corner suites are perfect for getting ready and photographs; the food was delicious; and we loved that everything was dog friendly so our dog could be part of this important weekend!

When we checked into the Bridal Suite on Thanksgiving, the staff went above and beyond. The door team helped us unload three fully packed SUVs, and the bell staff — especially Dilbert — made sure everything was brought to the suite quickly and carefully. Every room and suite was perfect, and the front desk team was warm and attentive each time we returned.
Throughout the weekend, the service remained exceptional. The staff handled every last‑minute request on the wedding day with kindness and efficiency, from ice for coolers to small but important in‑suite details. Checkout on Sunday was just as smooth, thanks in large part to Anthony, who was a tremendous help with our departure logistics.
We also loved having the Red Owl Tavern and Stratus right on site — both offered great settings and excellent service for our guests.
Our family and friends shared the same glowing feedback about their stay. We enthusiastically recommend the Hotel Monaco and its incredible team. They helped make our wedding weekend seamless, joyful, and unforgettable, and we would gladly serve as a reference for them.

Each department/team, ranging from billing/accounting, wedding planning, room blocks, catering, etc. did an exceptional job and should be highlighted. Our ceremony took place in the stunning Lafayette Ballroom, which was the perfect backdrop for our vows, with the sun coming in through the windows. Guests then moved to the Stratus Rooftop for cocktail hour, and it could not have been more magical — the city views, the ambiance, and the service made it unforgettable. Afterward, we returned to the Lafayette Ballroom for our reception with 135 guests, and it was everything we hoped for and more: beautiful, intimate, and full of energy.
What really stood out was the team at Hotel Monaco. Our planner, Katie, was amazing to work with. She guided us through the process, making the planning much easier and ensuring the day flowed flawlessly. On the wedding day itself, Bernardo went above and beyond to make sure our food and drinks were perfect and that every guest was taken care of. Their professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness made such a difference.
We were even able to keep Red Owl Tavern open a little later for an after party, which was the perfect way to cap off the celebration. Our guests are still raving about the food, drinks, and the overall atmosphere.
We cannot recommend Hotel Monaco enough for a wedding. It’s a truly stunning venue with an incredible staff that made us feel celebrated and cared for every step of the way. We’ll cherish this day forever!

Our only issue was some guests (including my husband) had valet parking charged to their room for cars that did not belong to them. If you book a block through them, make sure your guests check their bill at checkout to avoid any issues with that!

Bernardo (not sure what his title was) provided exceptional service and was a guest favorite. He made sure that my husband was taking care of and kept us on schedule as well.
We also enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the hospitality was phenomenal. Everyone was incredibly attentive and super friendly from the time we checked in until we checked out. We stayed in a corner suite which had excellent views of the city and also had a complementary bottle of champagne with a note congratulating us!
My husband and I are already making plans to stay again this coming spring and definitely would recommend staying here!

hen we had a last minute cancllation. The staff went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable. The classic ballroom and exterior with quirky lobby and room accents were perfect for our classic, formal winter wedding. We held our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all at the monaco which meant the transitions were seamless and our guests loved it. We also met our guests for a causal get-together in the red owl tavern which was such a comfortable, casual place to meet our guests as they arrived. All in all we loved having our wedding at Hotel Monaco and so did our guests!

Desiree swooped in to save the day multiple times throughout the wedding weekend, and we received several compliments about how professional and sweet she was on our big day.
Guests also loved the food and thought the ceremony set up was so unique and beautiful. Being two brides, we both wanted to walk down the aisle at the same time, so Stratus was perfect because we could each come from one of the houses (Mist and Vapor) on either side. We had the ceremony (and later the band / reception) right under the wings in the center of the rooftop. Even though we didn’t have a sit down dinner, all 140 guests had a place to sit and eat or lounge if they didn’t want to dance.
It was the perfect night, better than we could ever dream, and that’s all thanks to Desiree and team! We’ll be coming back to Hotel Monaco every year to relive the magic, that’s for sure :)

All of our guests loved the cocktail hour at Stratus as well. I was blown away by how incredible the ballroom looked for our reception. The entire day went so seamlessly. All of our guests told us how much they loved the hotel and how much fun they had. We had a great experience working with the entire team at Hotel Monaco.

And upon check in, we received a handwritten note from staff (Joann) congratulating us on the big day and making us feel extra special. As for the big day, all our guests loved having cocktail hour on the roof. And special shoutout to Bernard! He was absolutely the best!! He continuously checked up on us throughout the night and made sure I never had an empty glass in hand :) Although I only could name a few, the entire staff was truly amazing. Lastly, James, the GM personally reached out to us and checked up on us to make sure we had the best experience which we truly appreciated. Overall, choosing Hotel Monaco was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and would highly recommend to others who are in search for a venue!

The cocktail hour was abundant to the point that many said they ate so much at the cocktail hour that they were stuffed by the time the meal came around.
As far as the planning was concerned, Katie is one of a kind and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly patient, reassuring and extremely timely in her responses to our multitude of questions. There was no situation she could not solve. The staff was excellent including the valet, reservations, reception as well as the waitstaff for the wedding. And a special shout out to Bernardo who was the maitre-d for our tasting. He was so much fun and made the experience so enjoyable.
The location of the Hotel Monaco cannot be beat. It is in the middle of Old City right across from Independence Hall. Consequently, there are fabulous photo ops available within walking distance. It is easily accessible to the airport for out of town guests and there are a multitude of nearby sites to occupy them during downtime.
All in all, it was such a special day and I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone!!

Desiree managed our timeline perfectly from the walk down the aisle, picture taking, cocktail party, and reception. All venues were managed impeccably. The bartenders were attentive and efficient and creative with their skills. The catering team was impeccable! All of our food was served hot, delicious and beautifully plated. Our guests are still complimenting us on the fantastic food.

They know what they’re doing at hotel Monaco and you won’t have to worry about anything cause they will be very hands on helping you along the way. We had our ceremony of 74 people on the roof and then went to the ballroom for our reception. Everything looked really beautiful in our pictures. People loved the food, the vibe and atmosphere and the hotel itself. Communication was always clear and we ended up doing a rehearsal dinner with them which they did a great job with. They catered to my special diet and worked with me with the cocktail hour making sure I could eat and enjoy the day. Katie made us feel confident any time we saw her during the wedding and rehearsal dinner that she had us taken care of and things would be alright.

Katie was incredibly helpful with all things pricing, food, sharing preffered vendors etc all things that come with her job Im sure, But what made our experience truly special is that we felt katie really understood our vision, and goals for the wedding, and she was so incredibly helpful in helping us execute that down to perfection. Being a very hands on person myself, katie was so great with communication, constantly staying in the loop and checking in, and always making sure she was on the very same page as us throughout the planning process.
very long story short, Katie Killman and Hotel Monaco are at 11/10, we cannot recomend them more, and we couldn't have possibly had a better wedding, thanks to them!

Desiree, the Director of Catering, was a fabulous planner and coordinator. Her passion for her job shines through in EVERY conversation and EVERY detail. Her and her team were so attentive and made sure our delayed celebration was nothing less than magical. The Monaco's team, especially Desiree, stay calm, cool, and collected and really help ease the nerves that come with planning a party. They ensured that everything carried out swimmingly! Even on the day of the party, Desiree made sure to check in with me and my husband and reassure us that all our plans and decor were getting set up as planned.
At the celebration, the food was incredible! The atmosphere was stunning. And, the staff was attentive, friendly, and so cheerful to be apart of the party!
We held our cocktail hour in Stratus the rooftop lounge and then moved down to the ballroom for dinner and dancing. We also had a room block with the hotel. And, we even had breakfast the next morning in the attached restaurant, Red Owl. Hotel Monaco has the FULL package and made this party truly a dream come true.

wanted for our wedding. Stratus is modern, intimate and the perfect rooftop setting. Desiree not only understood the vision for our day, but went above and beyond to make sure it happened. We were absolutely treated like royalty from start to finish throughout the entire planning process. Any little question/concern I had, Desiree was there to calm my nerves as an anxious bride and ensure every single detail was perfect. She even found the most perfect musician for our ceremony--Brian Fitzy (absolutely amazing!!). Our guests RAVED about the food (believe me, this is not your typical wedding food) and speciality cocktails (smoked out old fashioned bar & espresso martinis!). Desiree and the staff got to know us so personally, that they even delivered gifts for our dog when we arrived. The bartenders at the wedding even went as far as to assist us with an after party location (also met us there to continue the fun!) Stratus Rooftop wedding buyout to keep it modern and fresh. When we told Desiree our vision she grabbed the reigns and made our entire vision came to life. We wanted modern, we wanted black and white, we wanted sex and we wanted appeal. Ok too far but you get the picture.
Her and her staff were incredible. They were responsive, they were transparent, they worked around any obstacle, any pricing hurdle, had amazing creative ideas, they were so knowledgeable about literally every detail. Need help with decor? Ask Desiree. Need help ironing out where your guests can stay and get ready? Call Desiree? Need an X-factor but don’t know where to start? 1-800-DESIREE. The perks, the people, the venue are beyond 5 stars. Desiree booked Luke Carlos O’Reilly (does marvelous mrs maisel ring any bells??) to play piano at our wedding!!! The chef is INSANE! If you don’t want Boring old wedding food but a fine dining flavor explosion at your wedding-this is the spot. Oh did I mention they have a full service bar? Forget about make shift bars with limited ingredients. You are getting craft cocktails!!
The hotel staff is also incredibly accommodating with booking and scheduling wedding events. From booking the initial tour, the tastings, booking other vendors, booking the tour of the venue, booking the room block, coordinating hair and makeup times, breakfast and get ready details, wedding timelines, you name it, they do it. This is a full service wedding venue and they give you full concierge five star treatment.
Even the lighting was perfect! And I don’t just mean the sexy, modern, warm charm (and very flattering-you’ll look 10 years younger in your wedding photos) bulbs at the Stratus Lounge, I mean half of your venue scape is the Philly sky and skyline. If you have any reservations about booking here- don’t. This will be the most magical day of your life! I cannot thank the hotel and people here enough!

We decided to do a completely vegetarian menu and while the chef had some limitations on what he could do outside of their usual offerings, we ended up with a wonderful custom buffet that we and our guests were very happy with. Desiree was hugely helpful both before and on our wedding day and with her help we did not need to hire a planner or day-of wedding coordinator. The Monaco also hosted our post wedding breakfast which was perfect. Our family and guests were all incredibly impressed with this venue and staff. Thanks so much!
