I just love this place. My father-in-law introduced me to Hollin Hall when he bought our wedding cake here back in 2021 for our Covid-era wedding at home. We loved it so much we we...
nt back to Hollin Hall for a bigger cake for our post-covid reception with friends and family this past June. We went with our favorite, the black & white mousse cake, and it was a huge hit. Crystal was great to work with, and delivered all the way to our venue in Chevy Chase. Plus, this cake freezes great as long as you wrap it well. When we thawed a piece of our first cake on our anniversary, it tasted exactly the same and instantly brought us back to our wedding day. Thanks, Hollin Hall!
The Hollin Hall staff was so easy to work with, accommodating, and helpful. They made the process easy. Most importantly, the cakes were DELICIOUS!
The cakes were amazing about exceptionally priced. We recieved so many compliments. They worked with us to make changes to do custom cakes. The pumpkin cake was phenomenal. Onl...
y drawback was it was sometimes hard to get a hold of them but the product completely made up for this. I'm always trying to find an excuse to order another cake from them.
We love Hollin Hall Pastry Shop! They made our Groom's Cake and Wedding Cake this past June 2013. From start to finish, Nadia and Jessica were fantastic! Offering competitively pr...
iced cakes, Hollin Hall made our vision for the cakes into a reality, not to mention the excellent quality, design and freshness of the cakes.
All the guests were pleased at the quality of the cakes -- triple chocolate mousse, white chocolate raspberry, lemon, and strawberry shortcake -- all flavors chosen were light, just the right amount of sweet, and fresh!
We will definitely use Hollin Hall for our future cake and pasty needs and will highly recommend them to others! Cheers!
Hollin Hall Pastry shop was so helpful and providing the most delicious and beautiful cake for my wedding. They worked with me to get the design I wanted and have full piece tasti...
ngs, too. Yum worth every penny and they delivered it no problem!!!
We used Hollin Hall for our wedding cake because our reception location manager recommended them. The cake was very yummy, and there were a lot of unique flavors you could choose. ...
The cake was decorated beautifully and just as we had discussed. I just took off one star for service because they didn't always respond quickly to my questions, and they didn't always come across as being as organized as a nervous bride might need to feel confident. But it all worked out in the end, so it didn't bother me that much.
Hollin Hall did an excellent job replecating our cake from a picture we found. Everyone loved the cake and we almost ran out. People 'till this day ask us who made the cake and wha...
t to have another piece of our cake. They did an excellent job on the grooms cake and our wedding cake. I would highly recommend this vendor to anyone. They did an amazing job with our cakes and will come back for more cakes in the future!
Our wedding cake tasted great just like when we did the cake tasting. However, later on we had additional guests to our list and we assumed that we would have a 3 layer cake. Ins...
tead the bottom cake was made larger to accomodate additional guests. And the lettering that was shown in their cake book was not the same on our cake. The decor was pretty and overall it was a good cake.
Hollin Hall did an amazing job on our wedding cake! They are a little pricey but we decided to do a two layer cake and the rest cupcakes, which offset the price and fit well into o...
ur budget! Everything was well over our expectations, from our initial meeting with the fabulous cake testing to the finished product and display at our reception. They cake and cupcakes were a hit! Overall, I highly recommend them for any event! Do not let the prices sway you away, because they will definitely help you to get what you need and stay within your budget!
I regret having to give this bakery 3 out of 5 stars, but the cake design (when compared to the picture provided to them) and taste (when compared to the tasting appointment) did n...
ot really meet our expectations. The end result was nothing horribly wrong, in fact we did receive compliments about the cake presentation and flavor from guests who weren't aware of the issues. The owner is an older, well-meaning gentleman who is rough around the edges, but is proud of his work. He charges a reasonable flat rate per slice no matter the design. We were looking for something in the 40-slice range, but he did not charge us extra when it took 60+ slices to bake the design we wanted.
I worked with Hollin Hall through my reception site, so really the only thing I had to do was pick out the cake, the appearance, and eat! The tasting offered so many deliscious cho...
ices, it was hard to pick, but we ended up with almond cake and buttercream frosting and chocolate mousse cake (our cake was big enough to choose two types). Easy enough to pick out the appearance, they have a ton of examples on the web site, so I just picked and chose from what I liked. They actually matched the colors of my bridesmaids' dresses!
Ok, the most important part - the cake was sooo good! Super tasty - I definitely reccommend them.
The experience was wonderful from the tasting to the delivery of the cake. There's nothing bad that I can say about the baker that I had.
