I honestly don’t even know where to begin because there aren’t enough words to describe how incredible our experience with Hewitt Oaks was. If you are looking for a wedding venue, congrats- YOU FOUND IT!🤍
From the moment we started planning, the staff was super responsive and invited us to come tour the venue. After touring, we put a deposit down the same day, that's how quickly we fell in love with the venue, specifically The Promise Tree. We booked the Lowcountry Luxury package and we had so much to choose from, as well as additions we could add. The possibilities are endless.
We were blessed to have Savannah assigned to us as our planner. She was absolutely amazing, there are no words to describe her! She made everything feel seamless, and we genuinely could not have asked for a better person to help bring our vision to life. Even my late night annoying texts that I hope she would not see til morning would get a response, which was so above and beyond. She truly cares and is always in tune with what her couples need.
Christopher and Bethany are equally incredible, and the entire team went above and beyond to make our wedding everything we dreamed of and MORE. Their passion for events and design was perfect for us because we wanted an extraordinary wedding that our guests would feel loved and appreciated by, and they nailed it.
Hewitt House is absolutely STUNNING. Every single detail is thought out and beautiful, and the property itself feels like something out of a fairytale. You can tell Bethany curated the property out of love and passion. And don't even get me started on the food!!! Christopher's talent in the kitchen is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was! Bethany's florals are also TO DIE FOR. She is unbelievably talented, and seeing everything come together was even more beautiful than I could have imagined.
But what truly sets Hewitt Oaks apart is the people. The service was exceptional from beginning to end, and every single member of the staff helped make our day so special. Even when the rain decided to make an appearance, the team handled everything with so much care and made sure our day was still everything we had dreamed of. We never felt like the weather took away from our experience because we had such an incredible team taking care of us. The clear umbrellas that Savannah insisted everyone use were genius and made our photos spectacular.
One of the most rewarding parts of our wedding was hearing our guests tell us over and over that it was the BEST wedding they had ever been to and one of the most memorable weddings they had ever experienced. That means everything to us, and it says so much about the effort, talent, and heart that goes into what Hewitt Oaks does.
Also, if your budget allows to add Brulee (their adorable donkey) into your day, please do it!!!!!! He is absolutely incredible and such a sweet boy who loves his dad (Christopher) and he was the highlight of our cocktail hour.

Although founded in 2018, the story of Hewitt Oaks begins in 2002, when Bethany Hewitt established Southern Graces, an event planning business. In 2005, she met skilled chef Christopher Hewitt at a catering conference, and they hit it off. After a couple of years doing long-distance between Tennessee and NYC, they decided to get married, and Christopher joined the Southern Graces team. After working together on a wide range of elegant events, Bethany and Christopher realized their shared passion for hosting and decided to open Hewitt Oaks in 2018. Picture-Perfect Celebrations
On your big day, you can prepare for the festivities ahead in the cozy Connaughton Cottage, which also features on-site accommodations if you'd like to stay at Hewitt Oaks. Then, exchange vows in the ceremony of your dreams. You can choose between Hulling Hall and Chapel, an intimate indoor ceremony location, or an outdoor site like the majestic Promise Tree or Angel Oak Canopy. For cocktail hour, there are multiple courtyards where guests can mingle and sip refreshing beverages in the sunshine. Hewitt Oaks' flexibility also allows you to choose between several reception locations, such as the stunning Gracie Ballroom, a refined space for up to 300 guests. If you picture an al fresco occasion, The Meadow is ideal for tenting and able to accommodate up to 500 loved ones. Cait was a dream to work with. She immediately understood our vision and helped us bring it to life with such care and attention to detail. She was responsive, thoughtful, and incredibly patient with all of our detailed questions, which meant so much as we planned our wedding from over 400 miles away. Her expertise and warmth made every step of the process enjoyable, and every detail felt intentional and personal.
And the food—our guests are still talking about it! Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and served with care. The service team was exceptional and made everyone feel welcome. back days each with their own ceremony and reception/dinner and 2 WILDLY different aesthetics.
The Hewitt Oaks team made everything in the 14 months of chaos from contract to show time an absolute breeze. Monthly meetings, detailed questionnaires, series of design meetings and tastings to ensure our vision came to life. They helped translate our musings into a dream. Savannah and Kaitlin were so easy and so much fun to work with, it truly felt like a team.
The grounds alone are stunning, but what Bethany and her team can do is immaculate. The flowers were perfection, the decor felt like it was plucked off my Pinterest vision boards, and we could not keep finding something beautiful or breathtaking each way we turned.
And don't even get me started on the food! The food both nights is something we still talk about: able to bring not only lowcountry and southern favorites, but an entire Indian buffet that was highly lauded by my Indian family.
If you're wanting a venue that will take care of you, help realize all your dreams for you big day and then some, and make the wedding planning process so much less painful, I cannot recommend Hewitt Oaks enough.
Hell, if I knew it wouldn't completely exhaust the poor team, I'd run it all back tomorrow in a heart beat. I'm forever grateful for making that weekend absolutely magical and something we'll talk about forever.

They take you through a very detailed planning timeline to ensure all your desires are met. Then, on the day of the event, they bend over backwards to ensure every need you have is met. s a lack of professionalism from the owner, every time I said something she would talk over me.
The wedding day was worse, the chapel & bathroom were dirty, and there were buckets of dying flowers left around. A cleaning crew left wet floors & piles of trash while we were trying to take photos. We asked multiple times for the buckets to be moved, they are in most of my photos & video. The night before the owner told us not to worry about rain and that they do this a lot. At 3, they told me to make a decision on having the ceremony outside, it was only rain so I kept it. The DJ later told us that he can’t play music in the rain, the venue failed to mention that earlier; I thought they had a rain plan for music outside, due to them telling me not to worry. After asking for our planners, they walk in and & the owner says someone wanted to see me? (this is the first time we’ve seen her all day). I said we haven’t seen her all day, she looked at me and said well what did you expect? (I expected her, as our planner to be helpful & there during my day). My dad told her what the DJ said, she said well yeah; his music equipment can’t get wet , I told her my photographers are out in the rain, she said that was different, his equipment is electrical (I get it, but if that was the case she should’ve told us that when we told them to keep the ceremony outside). She then said she thought it was common sense to know that the speakers can’t go outside. My dad said that if we can’t have music outside, we need to move it inside. She got mad, started slamming and moving stuff around. My photographer asked the DJ if he could play music from inside the chapel, towards the ceremony, he said absolutely. When we found that out, we told her to keep it outside. She slammed her hand down on a table and yelled what do you want? What we wanted was to have our ceremony outside like we planned; with our music. My photographer also had to find clear umbrellas, the venue didn’t get them out for us. (During this, I sat in the corner of the room, crying on my wedding day thanks to the venue owner.)
We were disappointed with our florals. I was very specific to avoid roses (this was special to me, from my late Papa) for most of the bridal party, they still gave all of the men roses. All bouquets & aisle decor were not as expected & the quality didn’t match what was shown on the their social media. The corsages for the mothers were given only after multiple requests, they seemed poorly made and the wrist pieces were too big. There were also construction noises coming from the venue, it was distracting.
Several details were wrong or overlooked at the reception & the bathrooms were dirty. There was no one outside from the venue directing guests.
The owner and her assistant never once said a nice word to me, never made me feel like a bride and definitely never made it feel like it was my special day. The owner made me cry on my wedding day and I will remember that forever.
In my opinion, it’s all about the money for them and they were unprofessional. They have huge wedding here, I think those are the only ones they care about. We had a small wedding, but still spent a large amount of money. I wanted to make this review in hopes to save another bride from having her day ruined the same way mine was.

h our budget and book with Hewitt Oaks. We hoped that by choosing a venue that handled everything—cake, catering, flowers—we could avoid juggling multiple vendors. Unfortunately, the experience was far from acceptable.
Issue #1: Wedding Planner
Our assigned wedding planner left the company, and we were left without contact for over a month. We finally reached someone a month before the wedding (the same day our guest count was due). They claimed the planner had a family emergency, which later turned out to be a lie. I found out she had taken a new job elsewhere. We received no communication from the owner or anyone else about this before I had to call them.
Issue #2: Wedding Day Problems
There were several issues on the day of, many of which were outlined in our contract but not provided:
No Vodka: My dad asked for a vodka tonic at cocktail hour and was told they didn’t have any. This is unbelievable, especially since we were promised it in our contract. They eventually found some, but no one should be told "no" for such a basic drink.
No Lemons or Limes: The bar didn’t have lemons or limes, even though it was specified in the contract.
Memorial Table: Our ancestors' photos were displayed on a wine-stained tablecloth under a promotional ad for their new hotel. This was incredibly disrespectful and insensitive.
The Cake: We were promised a beautiful wedding cake, but what we received was uneven and lumpy. I’ve included a photo of the cake here. Go ahead and compare it to the cakes advertised on their website. Does this look like a wedding cake an "Iron Chef" winner would be proud to serve? To make matters worse, the cake stand we requested was left sitting in the ladies' bathroom, just feet from the cake.
These are just a few design-related disappointments. I won’t even go into the other issues we faced.
Issue #3: Inconvenient Clean-Up
At 8 p.m., our planner asked my bridesmaids to leave the party and clean out the entire cottage for the next day. This felt completely inappropriate, especially since the event was scheduled to end at 10:30p.m. They could have easily done the clean-up at the end of the night.
Issue #4: Broken Neon Sign
We ordered a neon sign as part of our package. However, during tear-down, boxes were piled on top of it, causing it to break. It now only lights up halfway. After the wedding, we contacted Bethany, the owner, and requested a repair. She responded saying she would take care of it the next day, but two weeks went by without any follow-up. Despite multiple attempts to reach out, we were completely ignored.
In Conclusion
I’m not going to completely discourage people from booking with Hewitt Oaks, but I do want to caution future couples. We overlooked some negative reviews during our research, hoping our experience would be different. If you do choose to book with them, I would recommend having a budget closer to $100k. It’s clear they prioritize higher-budget events, and we felt like our wedding wasn’t given the attention it deserved.
The most disappointing part of our experience was their lack of customer service and failure to address our concerns. All we asked for was a fix for the broken sign and they couldn’t even do that. Their handling of our concerns left us feeling completely disregarded and disappointed.

Bethany is the most hardworking and passionate vendor I have ever met. She took our vision and brought it to life. My husband and I were in awe of how wonderful everything turned out. It truly felt like a fairytale. We still have guests messaging us telling us it was the most incredible wedding they have ever attended. We got married in April 2024 after a nearly two-year long engagement, and the Hewitt Oaks team held our hand every single step of the way, guiding us down the path to success and helping to make our vision come to life. Brigette, our wedding planner, did an incredible job - she was responsive, attentive, and accommodating, always willing to answer our (many, many) questions and making sure we stayed on track. We can’t hep but to mention Bethany, the owner and event designer, too - she is an absolute gem of a person, making sure that we felt taken care of throughout the entirety of the process leading up to (and throughout) wedding day. We can’t say enough about the job those two did!
Obviously, the venue itself is breathtaking, but what truly sets the Hewitt Oaks team apart is their attention to detail in the decor and ambience, which transformed the venue into the EXACT vision we laid out to them. The catering was exceptional as well; we’re not talking about “wedding food” here. Hewitt Oaks provided what felt like a fine-dining experience for us and our guests, and had everyone talking about how good the food and service was long after wedding day had come and gone.
Overall, we cannot recommend Hewitt Oaks highly enough. They made our wedding day not only memorable, but truly magical, and exactly what we had in mind. If you’re looking to get married in the Lowcountry, look no further than Hewitt Oaks to help turn your special day vision into reality!

tt Oaks was on our list and (honestly) at the top of our budget. Our tour was with the OWNER of the venue- that alone spoke volumes to us. Bethany has a hand in every detail and made every step of the way personal, special, and memorable. We toured the same day they had an event and it was impactful how many staff members they had and the attention to detail we saw. They were literally re-landscaping to match that events colors and themes.
Once we knew they had availability, we said "YES" immediately.
THEY ARE EXPERTS!! Our planner, Brigette, was amazing and took care of EVERY detail (even the ones we had not thought to ask about). She got right to the heart of our theme, design, and dreams for the day and RAN with it. From helping us pick out the appetizers for cocktail hour, to bringing us some while we were taking photos to make sure we ate, she was by our side. She orchestrated the day perfectly.
Their preferred vendors list is a gold mine for professionals in the area.
The value is unmatched at Hewitt Oaks. If I knew then what I know now, choosing Hewitt Oaks would have been the EASIEST decision of my wedding planning! Do it!!

, joy, and excitement. Not only is the venue itself absolutely breathtaking, the service we received was truly above and beyond anything we could have expected throughout the entire process. Every question or minor concern I had was addressed with graciousness, patience and understanding. Beyond that, Bethany, Bebe, and their team were able to turn my vision into a reality beyond my wildest imagination - everything, from the florals, the food, decor - was absolutely exceptional. Additionally, as an out of town bride, the fact that it was all handled in-house provided me with such peace of mind to know it was in the best of hands with Hewitt Oaks.
And while I was already incredibly impressed with their team leading up to the wedding, the day of our wedding had me absolutely floored. Our concierge Zarah did an exceptional job, answering all of our questions, and helping us with everything big and small throughout the day, all with a smile on her face. And it was so amazing to see the entire staff work so diligently towards making our day beautiful from the moment we showed up (actually, well before that!) to the moments we left (to probably a lot later than that!) It truly amazed me how they are able to do something that spectacular, creating the most incredible, beautiful day of a person’s life multiple times a week. Outside of marrying my now husband, there was no better decision in this process than choosing Hewitt Oaks as our venue.

catered on site by Chef Christopher is unbelievably delicious, by far the best food I have ever eaten at a wedding. They provide the highest quality florals and rentals to put beautiful finishing touches on an already gorgeous setting.
But what really sets Hewitt Oaks apart from any other venue is the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and their all inclusive packages. Hewitt Oaks, and especially our rockstar wedding planner Crystal, made the entire planning process a breeze and flawlessly executed our event on the day of the wedding. Everyone at Hewitt Oaks went above and beyond to ensure that me, my husband, and our families could relax and enjoy every moment of the day. We will be forever grateful for the memories this provided us!
Hewitt Oaks absolutely knows how to throw the perfect wedding. We are blown away by their venue, food, planning services, and their entire staff and I can't recommend them highly enough!

They are just very thoughtful and genuine people that truly care about their couples.The staff are amazing, the food is to die for, the venue and planning is incredible. You can’t go wrong! I feel like Hewitt Oaks is a hidden gem that will take off in the next few years. They also provided a recommended vendors list that had some seriously incredible people on it. We relied on Hewitt Oaks for pretty much everything they could do in house- even the recs of the other vendors they couldn’t provide! I had my dream wedding with wonderful vendors and people to share it with. Truly thankful to have found Hewitt Oaks as our wedding venue. ❤️❤️

Planning was easy, the food tasting was great (delicious food) and the day of the wedding was more than perfect. Everybody was so nice and welcoming. I definitely recommend this venue 100%. It is gorgeous there and our pictures are unbelievable!

m were so easy to work with. Brigette our planner was always quick to respond to any of our questions and concerns, which was perfect as we were planning a destination wedding at their venue and had to travel. Set up and tear down was as simple as could be as they took care of it all for us! Decor and florals were arranged with our package and they honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. The food was incredible from appetizers to dessert buffet. Our specialty cocktail was delish and they even let us name it after our cat back home, Peachy.
I genuinely can’t say enough positive things about this venue. If you are considering Hewitt Oaks for your special day, we would say go for it! You won’t be disappointed!

ing the day feel super magical. Our day was set to be outside, ceremony and reception, however, there was a threat of rain. The staff was quickly able to move the reception inside seamlessly. Moving the reception indoors was probably the best decision, our guests never left the dance floor. I think this would have been different if we stayed outside, since it was so hot out. Food was delicious! Signature drink was delightful and refreshing. It was also super helpful they handed all the details by dealing with the flowers, cake, centerpieces, etc. The staff, all around, were super sweet and helpful. Kristyn, my day of coordinator made sure things ran smoothly and she is such a sweetheart.
My only and biggest disappointment was the photographer. We had our photographer included in our package. I was not able to gain access to her information beforehand, which is fine! However, I would have preferred having a conference call between Hewitt Oaks, the photographer and myself to go over what I wanted and my expectations. The grounds on Hewitt Oaks is one of the main reasons I was drawn to it and I just felt our photographer did not utilize that to her advantage. Many of our photos had the same background (one of the buildings). I wanted the trees and Spanish moss to be a big aspect of our day and photos and there were not many, so that was a huge let down.
Overall, this is the perfect wedding location with that great southern charm. The staff went above and beyond and our day was absolutely beautiful.
