Heritage Prairie Farm

ly say nothing went wrong! The food is amazing and the space is beautiful! We got SO many compliments about the venue!

There was a unique mixture of modern and rugged elements:  Cowboy boots/ hats, burlap, mason jars, evening bonfire & s'mores, vintage tables, lawn games! All of our wedding guests, friends, and families can't say enough good things about the venue.  The entire team provided exceptional service at our wedding— the entire day was seamless. Their attention to detail and the significant coordination efforts in months of planning made our day so special. I was very impressed by the coordinators responsive communication, and their ability to accommodate & do whatever was requested. There were very attentive and nailed every detail. They also offered helpful insight on the whole planning process. Everything was SO well organized in the months leading up to the wedding that it made for a very smooth & relaxing day. Every single meal that the chefs curated for us were so delicious & they customized everything to us. Joe and David helped create and Plan our food & beverage menu and it was perfect. They have very talented & highly Skilled chefs. All of Our guests loved the food and thought everything was delicious. The vendors that they had recommended (per their preferred vendors list) were great referrals that we would also highly recommend to others. This list was super helpful and made the planning and researching a lot easier for me. Book this venue for the perfect most magical wedding!

was in late October the tent was very warm all throughout the evening and if our guests wanted to set outside there was a bonfire waiting for them. All the staff we worked with through the planning process and the day of were very accommodating and helped us have the best day possible. They were very accommodating when we needed to drop supplies off they day before.

le planning process was so easy as well. They provide you with a day of coordinator (such an amazing perk) included in the venue price. Kara, my coordinator, literally was a god send on our wedding day. She managed our vendors coming in and out, made sure everything was running smoothly and even provided moral support when I was nervous. If you are looking for a venue that treats you like family - this is the place to go!

having access to the venue in the morning to relax and get ready and the planning meetings were great especially when it came to the finer details, food/beverage planning, etc. They have a great team that works together really well. The day of everything went perfectly - at least from what I could see :). My planner and everyone on site were professional, friendly, and on point. And of course the grounds are gorgeous, we loved the natural setting.

ridal suite for all your glam needs! The entire team is amazing to work with and they make everything so painless. Throughout our wedding day, I was completely unaware of the staff moving about, they do it with such professionalism! I got many compliments on the food ("best wedding food ever!"). It is so convenient that the on-staff chef is included in the planning process. The food was delicious, the drinks were flowing, and the atmosphere was electric! We cannot recommend HPF enough!

ke and only half of the cake was put out, I had guests who didn't get a piece at all and was given half the cake at the end of the night. We also had guests tell us that water was not replenished at the tables at all. We paid for the two protein options, we picked a spicy chicken rigatoni and there was hardly any chicken in it. It felt that the family style was more of a pay per plate. The bartenders were great and so were the drinks. Kiki was amazing and so helpful while getting ready. Overall it was a great wedding but there were definitely a few hiccups.

of all the details for us. It was stress-free and turned out better than we could have hoped for! We are grateful to Monica, Chef Brett, and the whole staff at HPF for making our wedding the best day ever!

so easy to work and plan with them. They truly go above and beyond to make your day as stress-free and fun as they can. Monica was a godsend the day of; her calm demeanor helped me stay calm when a few issues came up. They were very accommodating of last minute changes as well. The decor was so beautiful! I only had a few floral items added because it was so naturally beautiful. The food by far is the best wedding food you can imagine. You get to work with their chef to design your menu! Overall, I would 1000% recommend this venue. As an out-of-state bride, I knew I could count on the Heritage Prairie team to make my day so special.

was excellent. Not a detail was missed from the moment the bridal party arrived, until the last guest left. From start to finish we felt cared for. The ready rooms for both the men and women were well stocked with drinks, safety pins, breath mints, etc. Anything needed was handy (like scissors and needle and thread!). Our friends and family marveled over the touches like mason jars, eclectic dishes and spots to take pictures. The coordinator ran the event and also went with the flow, she was perfect for our couple that kept dissappearing to be present with guests. The food was spectacular too! I cannot recommend Heritage Prairie Farm enough.

quested information and a tour. There was no doubt that this was the perfect venue for us. The staff was SO KIND. Shannon R. was our main point of contact since January and I cannot emphasize enough how amazing she is! With COVID changing plans frequently, she helped us rearrange guest count, timelines, and never once made us feel bad for our million questions! I could go on & on with this review because everything & everyone was amazing but I will just say this: perfection. I'd recommend them a hundred times.

ll remembered how amazing the food was. Since food was a top priority for us, we booked without even touring it (they only had a few fall saturdays left and didn’t want to miss out!). This venue is so unique. You get the cute farmhouse to get ready in. You don’t need to leave the grounds to get seriously amazing photos. You can opt for the chef to prepare you a farm to table lunch that was seriously amazing. My bridesmaids are still talking about the grilled cheese! There are a ton of decorations that they let you use, including table numbers, signs, antique furniture, lawn games, candle holders, etc. They have a fire pit to stay warm and roast smores. The sunset view from the fire pit is breathtaking. The farm animals make for such a cute photo op and entertainment for the kids. Make sure you have your florist make a greenery bouquet to feed the goats! There are several areas to have your ceremony. The pergola outside is a no brainer, but the barn is also beautiful in case of bad weather! Again, the FOOD is what sells this venue. We had at least 15 guests (out of 50) tell us it was the best wedding food they had ever eaten. We served the roasted chicken with veggies, beef tenderloin, bacon brussel sprouts, roasted potatoes with cheese sauce, a goat cheese salad, and a focaccia bread with honey butter. Everything was amazing, the beef tenderloin melted in your mouth. You can’t beat in house catering, and this is the best of the best. We chose a fall cider margarita and Lynchburg Lemonade as our signature drinks for cocktail hour. They made them so cute with the herb garnishes and rimmed glasses. Again, we got so many compliments on the drinks. About halfway through planning, COVID hit and turned our wedding plans upside down. Our 250 person wedding had to change to a 50 person wedding. HPF was so great throughout all of the uncertainty and stress of recreating our wedding. I want to give a HUGE shout out to Shannon, the venue coordinator we worked with for most of planning. She was always there to answer questions and replied within a day or two. Her job is definitely not easy, especially dealing with all the recent restrictions, and she always did such a great job with a smile on. The day of the wedding she made everything run so smoothly. She set up all the decor, both the venues and our own, perfectly. She made sure all the vendors were situated and taken care of. She also checked in with us periodically to make sure everything was going well. We can’t thank Shannon and the rest of HPF’s staff for making our micro-wedding a dream come true. Everyone loved the venue so much, especially now during COVID, since there is so much space to spread out and be outside if you’d like. I wish I could relive the day over and over, but at least I have the cutest pictures from the farm to remember forever! Thank you to HPF! And if you’re looking for a romantic, rustic venue that has a ton of amenities, go here! They made planning a breeze.

non is an angel. Between Shannon and the online planning forum it was so stress free and easy. Our wedding was BEAUTIFUL. Flawless from start to finish with not even a minor issue going wrong. Everyone has told me the food was the best they’ve ever had at a wedding and in general. They have so many farm props you can use that truly makes them stand out. I wish I could go back and re-live our day!!

ery possible question and need :) My husband and I (and everyone who attended the wedding) were so impressed by the venue and the team that made it happen. Liz was incredible to work with and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the entire planning process. We were lucky enough to have a perfect October day, but we felt relieved knowing we could make a last minute change to have the wedding in the barn if the weather didn't cooperate. Our guests are still raving about how delicious all of the food was and all of the charming touches like the bonfire/lounge areas/coffee bar and so much more. It truly was the perfect day and we can't thank the HPF team enough. We would highly recommend booking Heritage Prairie Farm for your wedding!

reamed of. The staff was amazing and so helpful. Everyone couldn't get over how delicious the food was! Going with them for our venue was the best decision we made!

idn’t have to lift a finger on the big day, they had everything set up perfectly, the schedule was flawless and kept the day flowing perfectly. Our guests are still talking about how much they loved the venue and don’t even get me started on the food. The chef here is unbelievably talented and everything from the appetizers passed around at cocktail hour to the family style dinner was just amazing ( 10/10 best wedding food I’ve ever had). Heritage Prairie Farm truly makes your special day that much more special. If you’re looking to have a farm chic wedding that’s super organized with a beautiful setting and amazing food, look no further.

perfect. We received so many compliments on our wedding day that this was the best wedding our guests had ever been to. We were so happy to have the chef recreate one of our favorite recipes to share with our guests. We loved that everything was so customizable, although we also trusted our planner, Liz, and the other event staff with making our vision come to life. Since our wedding we have already returned to the farm for a farm dinner and again had the best time. Highly recommend everything that Heritage Prairie Farm has to offer!!

ce. I would recommend this venue to any couple who is looking for a cozy and rustic outdoor venue. This was the perfect venue for our wedding!!

nd paying attention to even the tiniest of last minute details; I was so impressed with their service and thoughtfulness! Our wedding was fully vegetarian and almost fully vegan; I wasn’t entirely sure it could be done but they did it! Not only did they do it, they were able to accommodate gluten free guests as well, and I had several of my traditional, meat eating guests come up to me and say that it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. Not only was the food delicious, but the whole facility runs like a well oiled machine. During dinner at one point the cover had fallen off of my desserts; I noticed some guests eating them before they were served and so spoke with someone in the kitchen. The problem was literally fixed within a minute or two before I even got back to the tent! The day of the wedding really could not have gone better and that’s all thanks to the expert staff at Heritage Prairie Farm.

ked with them! It was truly an amazing decision because everything about HPF was absolutely perfect. With a larger group of bridesmaids ( 8 women) and two mothers that needed to get ready the morning of the wedding, the very spacious bridal suite was appealing right from the start and worked great the day of for hair and makeup. One of the initial reasons we chose HPF was for their outdoor ceremony space, but as the day got closer the reality of a late October wedding having the weather necessary for an outdoor ceremony seemed impossible. Thankfully the other ceremony space is an absolutely beautiful and romantic barn. The photos in this space turned out stunning, even if the wedding was during a better weather time of year we would choose the barn again. We had even hoped to have the cocktail hour on the lawn, but again the weather was not cooperating and that day they were able to move it to the greenhouse and make it look like that was the plan all along. But we would not have been able to put everything together without the help of the amazing staff of HPF. Liz is so experienced and seems to know your questions before you even have them; she is the calming presence you need throughout the entire planning process. The food that Chef prepares is delicious, truly our guests couldn't stop raving about it. We weren't sure exactly what we wanted and he offered us options based on our taste and even took and made recipes that we provided to him. Honestly, you are so busy on the day of there isn't a whole lot of time for you to eat a full dinner, but just another special thing that HPF did for us was to box up the left overs and make sure that we got them the next morning when we went back to pick up the remaining decorations. It was so nice of them to think about us in that way and this allowed us to be able to take the time to enjoy the food afterwards. There is so much to worry about when planning a wedding but with so much provided in house by the Farm it just makes everything that much easier. We truly couldn't be happier with our choice to go with Heritage Prairie Farm, they helped in every way to give us the wedding of our dreams, we cant thank them enough!

expecting some friction at this point. But, my god, was I pleasantly surprised. The staff and organization as a whole was a pleasure to work with throughout - from the first meeting, through the wedding, and after. The setting is amazing, the food is fantastic, and the folks are friendly - and EXTREMELY accommodating with what I am sure can be annoying constant personal requests. I would also note that we planned to get married under the tree and had to "settle" for the barn after there was some slight rain. I couldn't be happier. The barn was beautiful, the pictures were fantastic - and they got this all set up and called the audible on the drop of a dime. I cannot stress how much we recommend this venue. I cannot imagine how anyone could be disappointed. They are so flexible and do so, so much to make sure that your day truly is special.

ack and took care of everyone throughout the whole day and everything went off without a flaw! I cannot say enough amazing things about this venue! Guests were allowed to roam the property and meet the farm animals, play games, sit by the bonfire, and they even set up a s'mores station. They have the option of having the wedding out under a beautiful old tree or in there barn which is beautifully lit with lights. You are able to choose through all the different things they offer and really customize everything so the wedding screams "you".

oup base camp to email everyone that will be working with you during your planning and day of wedding planner. Guests can’t stop raving about Chef Bretts menu and neither can we. The menu was a big deal since my now husband went through culinary and We couldn’t have been happier. You are able to customize your day pretty much exactly how you could imagine it and our day turned out PERFECT. THANK YOU HPF team you did amazing.

your thing, this is a great venue to look at. All the food is farm to table to comes directly from the farm itself, they have multiple food and drink packages to choose from, and you can personalize and tailor them to your liking. The staff is kind and caring, and I can honestly say my wedding day was PERFECT from start to finish. Would highly recommend the farm to anyone looking for an outdoor/farm venue!

beautiful and the food is to die for!!! I would highly recommend getting married here!

r my husband and the rustic, charming venue for me. I fell in love with the pictures on social media and knew I had to get married here. What I didn’t realize is just how special & magical the day would be, all because of the HPF staff. As a bride planning a wedding out of state, HPF made the planning process painless and easy. They use an online planning tool so we have all communication and notes all in one place. They were also very accommodating with phone calls and Facetime sessions instead of in person meetings. They are absolutely willing to work with whatever situation you are in whether it is out of state, budget, etc. Something I also wasn’t expecting was the incredible tasting experience. HPF had the whole tent up, decorated, bar going and even a band playing, which allowed couples to really get an idea of how a wedding works. We had the best time meeting other couples and discussing wedding plans and details all the while enjoying great live music and delicious food and drinks. As for our wedding day it truly was the dream wedding that surpassed all of my expectations. Our plan was to get married outside on the farm, but due to rain the night before the ground was too wet and muddy. I thought I would be sad not getting married outside, but HPF has the most beautiful, rustic barn and it was a magical setting. Whether you get married outside or in the barn it is truly a win-win. Throughout the whole day and night I was just able to enjoy every minute of it, which I appreciate so much since it goes by fast. HPF took care of everything, which allowed for a stress free day. One of my bridesmaids even had the zipper of her dress break and I had no clue until the next day. The HPF staff took charge and sewed her dress just in time for bridal photos. HPF also made a point to take care of us throughout the whole night. After photos we had a very short time before announcements so HPF made sure to bring an appetizer plate to us. When we didn’t have a chance to eat dinner that night (which is a crime because HPF food is SO good), the staff made us a bag to go, which we inhaled later that night. They also made sure to have our drink of choice at our table or would bring it to us while we talked with guests. During our planning sessions Melisa (who is the BEST) would take extra side notes to make sure our family was also accommodated throughout the night. It’s been a little over two weeks since our wedding now and our guests are still talking about how amazing the venue was from the ceremony and tent to the food and drinks. The chef at HPF is a chef from heaven and is so flexible with the menu. My husband is a chef so food was the top priority for him and he was blown away (as we all were) with the food. Although we live out of town we plan on paying HPF a visit from time to time at their farm dinners so we can continue to enjoy the amazing food and relive the best day of our lives! I hope every bride and groom can have their wedding at Heritage Prairie Farm because it is truly the best experience ever! I cannot say thank you enough to HPF!!!

corations you can use on your day which made decorating a breeze! We were assigned a wedding coordinator that we worked with throughout the entire process. They utilize basecamp, a project management tool, which was very useful. It was easy to post discussion topics to go back and reference. Their food is absolutely incredible, I would highly recommend going to a tasting or one of their dinners on the farm for some ideas. The chef will make anything you want if you ask them to though. The service on the day of the wedding was amazing. The bartenders were so friendly and our server was very attentive. The only thing that was a little confusing was I had a different coordinator the day of than who I had been working with throughout the planning process. There were a couple questions asked that we had already talked about on basecamp but other than that everything went smoothly! I would just recommend asking who will actually be there the day of just to not add any unneeded stress. Thank you Heritage Prairie Farm for making our wedding day so so amazing! with throughout the entire planning process.

our food and bar menu.. lots of outdoor space for ceremony and cocktail hour (with an equally beautiful barn, as a first option or rain alternative for the ceremony).. competitive pricing on venue rental and catering.. tables, chairs, linens, votives & other pieces included.. virtual planning tool that keeps communications organized, etc. But what drove me to write this rave review was the level of service that blew us away on our wedding day. I didn’t hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, but all the work the venue staff did made me realize it wouldn’t have been necessary. They set up everything for us day-of (seating charts, menus, various signage, guest book table decor, DIY photo booth decor, ceremony lanterns & candles, etc). I simply handed off these items with instructions, and they executed flawlessly. Plus they made all sorts of beautiful touches I didn’t expect (e.g. put bridesmaid bouquets in vases after the ceremony, and reused them as reception tent decor on the bar, etc). My husband and I had our own personal server who made sure we always had a drink in hand, and when I mentioned I wanted to try all the desserts from our spread, she delivered a plate of each dessert to our sweetheart table. They genuinely try to ensure their couples have nothing to worry about, and can enjoy/be present for their big day as much as possible. There’s really only one downside to this venue, and that’s the weather gamble. We had a late September wedding that ended up being 95 degrees, and there was little we could do to keep guests cool. They set up big industrial fans in the tent, but it was still quite warm. But if your heart is set on an outdoor venue in Chicagoland, and you prepare yourself for potential weather extremes, I wholeheartedly believe HPF is your #1 best choice.

nd smooth .......the day of could not have done any better we were lucky to have the best weather and I cannot brag enough with how perfect everything went. Not a single thing went wrong!!!! I am so happy and grateful for my experience with the whole staff at heritage prairie farm! Book here and you will have nothing but amazing things to say!

for the wedding and thought we were going to have more time the day of to decorate. We realized quickly that wasn't the case. Melisa and Lauren stepped up and took over for us. Everyone raved about the food from Brett. If you are looking for something more than your "typical wedding food" you will definitely find it here. We went with a lot of what we had at the tasting but Brett worked with us on adding some new food. Everything was delicious. Clover who took care of serving us at the head table got us huge brownie points from our parents and grandparents. She made sure they always had a drink and were taken care of. The venue is gorgeous and our pictures are amazing from that night. If you choose this venue, you should take pictures down at the red barn. Those were our favorite ones! It may seem a little pricey but when you think about everything that is included, it is pretty reasonable. You won't regret choosing Heritage Prairie Farm!

r special day amazing. All of my wedding guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and that is because of HPF!! The food is amazing as well, no complaints at all, truly amazing!!!

his beautiful location to get married. It made the day so much easier to be able to get ready, take photos, be married and have the reception all at the same place. Everyone at the farm was wonderful to work with, with special shout outs to Melisa, Nicole and Chef Brett for being so responsive and accommodating. Their planning system makes it so easy to tackle items one at a time while keeping everyone in the loop. Guests raved about the beautiful location, the firepit, visiting the goats, the amazing food and drinks and the exceptional service. Heritage Prairie Farm will always be special to us!

ey are SO accommodating. We could not have been happier and our guests were so pleased! Would 100% recommend to any couple looking for a rustic venue!!

My husband and I were both finishing law school and taking the Bar exam leading up to the wedding, so we wanted a place that was mostly all-inclusive, and organized. This was exactly what we got. They were professional, organized and easy to work with on our crazy schedules. We got to make decisions to make our day how we wanted it, but we could also trust them to execute everything flawlessly. When it was all said and done, this was truly worth every penny and I am thankful to cherish memories from our day.

us. I took a few months off of wedding planning and later found a wedding planner who recommended HPF. From our first meeting with Melisa, the venue coordinator, my now husband and I fell in absolute and complete love with the most charming, quaint farm. We got in our car after that first meeting, and I was absolutely devastated. I loved HPF so much, but I was very concerned it was out of our price range. But I spoke with my fiance in the car, and he said completely confident, "That's where we're getting married", and I knew I had to book it! From the charming goats and donkey to the attentive staff, everything from the planning stage to the actual wedding day was a dream. You pay a bit more, but you get so much more with the price. Lots of couples have given HPF items that they allow you to use for free. In addition, you're getting a one of a kind venue where every place you look, there's another beautiful sight to take in. We had our tasting in November, and the food was so delicious that we kept the menu completely the same besides adding an additional dish. When the wedding came, our guests raved about everything, but definitely the food (thanks, Chef!). We also had our rehearsal dinner here where we ate the most delicious gourmet pizzas. My inlaws were very concerned that the tent had no A/C, but we were very lucky with our weather. The venue has such a good breeze to it that A/C would be overkill. I had so many people come up to me at the wedding and tell me it was such a beautiful and amazing wedding. One of my guests told me that they had never been to a wedding where the guests were thought of so much rather than everything being focused on the bride and groom. From lemonade stands to S'mores to lawn games, HPF is set up to make your guests have a memorable experience. My only regret is that it's over! It was literally the most perfect, best day I could imagine. Thank you so much, HPF!

ch less than that. I just got off the phone with the owner/manager Nate, and he refused to compensate us for what we ordered and what we actually got. Nate acknowledge they "dropped the ball" and apologized for that, but stated it's not their policy to refund money for items we didn't receive. We paid for a premium bar, and didn't receive it. They have a sign at the bar stating what is available, and our premium liquor and wine were not listed. They only listed the beer, and the cheaper wine. Nate the owner admitted the premium spirits were omitted from the sign, but didn't feel the compensation for this was warranted, because the items were at the bar. Therefore very little of our "premium bar" was consumed, as the guests were unaware what was offered. We were to have an IPA beer on tap, and the tap was broken, so we didn't get that either. HPF did give us cans of the IPA beer instead. Again, disappointment. We also had a champagne hour set up for the early guests that arrived. Once again, this was not executed. No champagne. :( I also need to add, that many saw the head bar manager drinking that night. Nate was aware of that, and said he is "addressing the issue." I guess we paid for the bartender to drink too. Now on to the hors d'oeuvres and food. We had ordered 3 different horderves, We were way short on the hors d'oeuvres, especially the two warm ones, (which were most expensive) and food as well. We had a taco dinner, and many guests asked for more chips, salsa, and guacamole, and were told they were done "frying the chips" and there wasn't any salsa or guacamole left. Guests were hungry as the hors d'oeuvres were very scarce. We also ordered pork sliders with coleslaw for a late night snack. The coleslaw was also forgotten. Again, another missed item. We were so discourage at that point. I called HPF to express my concerns the following week, and was told someone would get back to me. It took almost 3 weeks for that to happen as well. Nate admitted all of this took place, and appreciated my feedback. I asked him for a refund of the items we paid for and didn't receive and was told "no." I did explain that I would be writing a review on a few websites, and he told me he didn't want to speak with someone who was " threatening" him. I asked him to put himself in our shoes, and he agreed some things were not executed, but couldn't give a refund. Nate became very short with me, when I asked what compensation we would be receiving. HPF is a beautiful setting for a reception. Our daughter always wanted a reception with a "farm feel", and they did provide that. The food is delicious, however, just not enough of it! To anyone considering holding a wedding out at HPF....apparently the contract doesn't hold up to what was actually served. I wish with my whole heart that the experience was an excellent. one....however, as you can read, they missed the execution in many area, and did not provide items stated in the contract. I do hope that they can learn from our experience, and that others will benefit from our experience. . Unfortunately, we paid a premium price for food and liquor that was not provided to our guests. . So disappointing! Words of wisdom: BE CAREFUL!!

, we realized that after visiting other outdoor farm/orchard venues in Illinois and Indiana, they all charge extra for the things that they know everyone wants - longer tablecloths, chairs that aren't those ugly black ones every community center uses, a place for the bride and groom to get ready day of. At Heritage Prairie Farm, these things are already built into the package. Heritage Prairie Farm even includes the services of a a planner and day of coordinator, who made the whole process much less stressful for us. You have the opportunity to plan your menu with the chef, so the farm gives you the ability to control your budget and your meal (and they allow for dietary restrictions - gluten free, vegan, vegetarian!) The food was amazing; our guests are still raving about it, 6 months later. Heritage Prairie Farm is a beautiful location to get married and the service (to us and our guests) was better than I've experienced anywhere. The staff pays such close attention to detail to make your wedding day run as smoothly as possible in a beautiful setting. From the lighted trees outside, to the mismatched vintage flatware and dinnerware, to the s'mores served around a campfire after the sun sets, to the leftovers boxed up for us when it was time to leave, Heritage Prairie Farm took care of everything (even things we never thought of). They really know what couples want in a venue and they deliver the very best. I heard (and still hear) so many comments from guests that our wedding was their favorite wedding they've attended. It was well worth the cost. Thanks Heritage Prairie Farm for making our wedding day perfect!

professional, upfront about the costs (no hidden charges and we were provided with services we didn't even expect to be included), incredibly helpful and truly great people. Our day came together seamlessly, thanks to our on-site planner, Melissa, the food was amazing (guests are still raving about it) and the bar manager, Charles, was very helpful. I cannot say enough good things about Heritage Prairie Farm. My only wish is that I could rewind and relive the entire, beautiful day all over again.

everything is. This was a huge selling point for us as we didn't want traditional (icky) wedding food that makes people sick...we're psuedo foodies and went for things we really LOVED, like the kale/beet salad (which our guests loved, too) as well as BBQ Chicken and BBQ Pork (for a southern comfort feel). For apps we had Chicken & Waffles and Fried Green Tomato Caprese and people gobbled them up (but of course HPF made sure to keep them streaming out). If the menu is important to you, then HPF is DEFINITELY the place for you...a lot of their items are Gluten Free in case that's an issue with your guests, but they also accommodate other delicious meals for the guests that require vegetarian, or other food preferences. 2) The event day service is SEAMLESS. It was seriously incredible how accommodating the entire staff was! The service staff whisked food in and dirty dishes out constantly but never were imposing or interfered with the evening, just always on hand when needed. My husband and I were given a personal attendant who, from the time we were married until we hopped in the limo to leave was near us with water, beer, our own apps plates, extra dinner servings in case we missed out, left overs wrapped up for later, ANYTHING WE WANTED...it was amazing. You don't think about this component, but things happened on wedding day that I forgot about or just couldn't physically do because I was busy and the magic elves at HPF read my mind and got it all done perfectly. You will NOT be disappointed with the guest experience at Heritage Prairie. 3) Things (sometimes) don't go as planned....our wedding was May 30 and for the last 5 years the average temp has been 72 and sunny with nothing below 65 and nothing above 80. Our wedding day was 48 degrees with a whipping windy rain. BUMMER. BUUUUUUUT....Heritage Prairie just made it work. They completely reorganized the entire day and never made it seem stressful or inconvenient. Melisa and Jennie were amazing at keeping me calm by just the way they assertively took on things that needed to be figured out and just let me enjoy being a bride. Honestly, I can't say enough for how wonderful these ladies were at making what could have been a stressful disaster into what felt like it had been planned that way for months! **Number 4 (or really number 1) is the amazing venue itself...Heritage Prairie is GORGEOUS and your guests will be blown away by it's beauty and it will be reflected in your pictures. Obviously our wedding and pics were mostly inside, but I still think they turned out fantastic because the house is also SUPER beautiful!

ttended in the fall was very enjoyable and gave us an excellent idea of what our wedding would be like. Also, it allowed us to taste HPFs awesome food, especially the short ribs! As the wedding approached Melisa (our day of coordinator) was great about helping us iron out details and answering questions. The day went off with out a hitch and everyone raved about the food and the setting. We also found many of our other vendors off their recommended list and they were all excellent with the added bonus of being very familiar with the farm! I would highly recommend HPF to anyone looking for a rustic venue with a staff that knows how to run a relaxed yet polished event.

f you are looking for a more non-traditional venue.

those things. We loved our farm wedding and if we could do it all over again, we would choose HPF again in a second. That said, here are some things to keep in mind if you are making a selection for your dream wedding: The best things about this venue: -they set up a tasting for you couples early in the wedding season so you can try the farm's fare - take advantage of this -an overall beautiful setting and venue - and it keeps getting better as they upgrade landscaping, the tent, etc. -tons of amazing places to take pictures -great food (we received lots of compliments) -the staff is totally willing to work with reputable vendors -the staff is truly willing to work with you to make any of your crazy whims happen (and we had lots of them, some at the last minute) Things you should know: -Be in tune with the pricing structure -The food comes as a long family style affair which doesn't really work for the bride and groom who need to visit - you might want to consider asking for a plated dinner prior to the day of -If you have a bigger wedding, make sure you have considered enough stations for dessert, etc. so as not to have lines

aterer. Luckily we stumbled upon this venue. After our first meeting with Jessica Impson we knew we had to get married here. They were very flexible in helping us stay close to our budget. We had a wedding planner, a chef, a bar manager, a event manager... and the list goes on and on. So many great staff members! After we booked our date we were given a website to communicate with the staff members which was so amazing and simple. Any questions we had we could post to the site and it was promptly answered. We had an amazing tasting which was like an event with other brides and grooms. At least 60 people were there to taste the food which we really enjoyed. Doing the tasting this way allowed us to try lots of food while being able to tell what it would be like the day of the wedding since the food was made for a large group and not just a few people. I can't express in words how amazing and delicious the food was. Nick, the chef, put together an amazing menu with an abundance of food. All of our guests could not stop raving about how delicious everything was! Everything at the cocktail hour and the dinner was beyond delicious! This was one of the best meals I've ever had and I'm so amazed and thankful it was my wedding food! Jennie, our planner at the Farm, was great! She answered questions promptly and was so flexible! We changed our ceremony location the week before the wedding to another part of the farm and they worked to ensure it was beautiful and flowed well. Brian, the bar manager (I think), did a great job with our signature cocktails! Sangria is my favorite drink and he did it justice! While I did spend a tad more than I would have liked to, I seriously don't regret a single penny spent on this amazing venue. Everything was beyond my expectations and so fabulous.
