Thank goodness for the guys and gals at Heritage DJs. Just a little background… We booked a DJ that was really cheap so we thought we got us a great deal. We had really not heard from him in a while so as our wedding got closer we tried to reach out and could never get a reply or anything. We were worried and come to find out he ghosted a bunch of other brides also. He’d advertised on Facebook with a really low rate and then took all the money and ran. So another Dj here in Tennessee who was not available recommended we contact her Heritage DJs. I emailed and talked to Jim who is the event manager and he was so helpful and kind right from the beginning. He actually brought in another Dj from another state to make sure we had our wedding covered. Not only that she did a wonderful job and we could not have been more pleased with DJ Monica. Please y’all do yourself a favor and hire a reputable company with multiple DJs from the beginning.

aylist, and were collaborative in the planning steps for both ceremony and reception. They even stepped in to help when our photobooth vendor had an issue and let them use their iPad.
The only thing that left a sour taste is that the actual DJing was not great. Perhaps I had higher expectations for a more modern dancefloor but it felt like the DJ did not care to take time to make note of the songs I requested and how to mix them.
Songs would play for the entirety before switching, one was played as an acoustic version with no beat and then abruptly switched to a song of a different genre with no ease or flow.
Perhaps this is due to having too many song requests but I expected that they would have mixed them in an order than flows and not just sporadically placed.
I don’t expect perfection but I really feel that when I look back to the wedding day, I wish I had splurged a bit more for a better fitting DJ.
They may be perfectly fine for someone who doesn’t care too deeply about a flowing music and good dance floor.

Our intro to the reception was a different song than the one I had picked, the song for the father daughter dance was faded out after I specifically asked the DJ not to do that, and he skipped over our first dance music by cutting out lyrics which is the opposite of what I asked, and our cake cutting music was not the song I picked out. I decided on 3 stars because he did get people out on the dance floor and remembered by bouquet toss when I didn’t.
