Without a doubt, Marissa and Johnathan were one of the most impactful parts of our wedding experience. From the day we met them, we felt that they were sincere, authentic, and genu...

inely passionate about what they do. Their photos were not just simply point and shoots, but a reflection of people who sincerely love the art of photography. Each of our meetings, despite being months apart, somehow felt like meeting with old friends. They never forgot any details of our lives or wedding plans. During our wedding day, Marissa and Johnathan both blended seamlessly into the background, catching even the most intimate parts of the day without us ever knowing they were there. At the same time, they knew exactly when to jump in and let their personalities shine, and it felt like we were laughing all day with them, which also helped to ease anxieties around the wedding day. They were on top of our schedule and constantly making sure that we were on time and all of the memories that we wanted were captured. If you are looking for photos that feel candid, organically taken, and true to you as a couple, Marissa and Johnathan are your people. Looking through our photos, it has been such a pleasure to see our wedding day through their eyes. They have such a talent for capturing the most emotional and truthful moments. We cannot recommend Hazel Eyes Photography more highly!

Marissa and Johnathan were such an integral part of our wedding journey. I really didn't know what to expect from a wedding photographer / videographer, other than show up day-of a...

nd send us our photos after. M + J gave us so much more than that. They were so personal with us throughout - from our first video call, to providing us with vendor recs, to our interactions over IG DM and to the pre-event call. M+ J are both genuinely wonderful and sweet people, while also being SUPER professional, reliable and organized. They're clearly experts at what they do, and made this part of our wedding so much easier for us. On the day-of, M + J were really efficient. All I had to do was tell them where things were and they would just run off and capture all the content without questions or direction. Again, I just loved how personal they were with us. Everything went so smoothly, and I actually had a lot of fun taking photos with my husband (never felt like a burden). I was legitimately sad to say bye to them when they were leaving our party. Also, they stayed the full 8+ hours, which was a treat because they captured every element of our day. I couldn't recommend Marissa and Johnathan more. It's hard to find words to describe how magical their work is, and the feelings they recreate for us every time we look back at our photos. We're already thinking of the next big life event so we can work with them again! Photography was the most important thing to us for our wedding day. I was searching #charlestonwedding hashtag on Instagram, all the photos were just blown out and all looked the s...

ame. We wanted someone who could really capture the emotion of our day and specializes in candids style photography because my husband and I clam up in portrait settings. Then we found Hazel Eyes on Instagram, I couldn't believe they were local, we are so lucky. Their portfolio was exactly what I was looking for, capturing the right moments, masters of light and they just looked like film stills to me. I love their moody editing and they were a dream to work with. We did a bride & groom shoot before the wedding, which totally breaks the rules but it was so worth it. They still made it special for us and we were able to capture moments that would have felt rushed if we waited for our wedding day. They are great at making you feel comfortable and don't boss you around as much as I have been in the past with other photographers. They are great at improvising shots and locations, they are a great team. They specialize in the in between moments, all of their photos feel unique to us and we are so thankful we went with them. The wedding day photos are better than any I have ever seen, there we so many moments we didn't know happened, we were able to relive our wedding through their eyes. It was awesome. Anyway, I could go on and on but basically just go with Hazel Eyes Photography if you want amazing photos. :)

king with them for her wedding! Marissa is so accommodating. Due to a hurricane, my bridal portraits had to be rescheduled to 2 weeks before the wedding! She helped me find a date that worked with my schedule and she even worked fast to edit the photos and get them back to me so that we could get a canvas printed for the wedding. Choosing them to capture moments from our big day is one of the best decisions I made!
