Loved our venue! Affordable, friendly staff, clean and beautiful!
I have been in love with the Gulfport Casino for years, so selecting it as a venue was more of a dream than a chance find. The staff, especially the main coordinator, was beyond ki...
nd and helpful through my thousands and thousands of questions leading up to the event and following. The space, is unbeatable, the price for the gorgeous ballroom with all of the tables and chairs included is amazing, and you can't beat being on the water in such a charming town. The best part, for us, was that the bar is a part of Gulfport already, and we could customize the menu and were charged on consumption, instead of a per-head breakdown. Our only frustration with this was that we said there were not allowed to be shots, later to find many had been poured and our bill a bit high because of it. Overall though, this was a small drop in the bucket compared to all things, and we could not have asked for a more perfect space to dance the night away with all the people we love most!
Our guests are still raving on what a perfect location we chose for our beach wedding! We had our ceremony outside the casino and reception inside. Couldn't have picked a better ve...
nue, with such history!
We absolutely loved this venue. We got to go in early to set up at no extra cost. For the view and location, the price is amazing. You're on the water, and are walking distance fro...
m a cute little park. All the photo opportunities you need are right there. The staff was super helpful, and the bartenders they provided were awesome. The option to build your own bar menu was a big selling point for us. You have to go see it in person. They're awesome!!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom on March 28, and it was just beautiful. Jon is just wonderful to work with. He was easy-going, patient, an...
d quick to answer emails. The ballroom was set up just as the diagram specified. The bar staff was friendly and chatted with our guests like old friends. I would definitely consider having another event there.
The Gulfport Historic Casino and Ballroom is a dream space for a wedding reception. My partner and I had our marriage ceremony, dinner, and awesome dance-party reception all togeth...
er at this venue, and there could have been no more perfect space in the Tampa Bay Area to make it all happen. Jon and his staff there are a dream to work with, open and accommodating to making vision a reality, and everyone who attended gushed at the views, the ability of the room to transform to make anything happen, and the historic significance of the space we were able to share. Anyone looking to celebrate and work with good people, have fun, and use a versatile and attractive venue should very, very much consider looking no further than the Gulfport Casino!!!!
Jon and the other Gulfport Casino Staff were very patient and helpful to us. The ballroom was beautiful and the best place for our even. I would highly recommend this venue.
This venue is beautiful. However, that is about all I can say. They were very strict, and not willing to work with me about many things. There rules are somewhat strict and they...
are sticklers! They do not have a useable kitchen. The client must pay for every hour of setup time, even though there are no other events going on, and the rental price for the event is not cheap.
The Gulfport Casino and Ballroom was the perfect place! The staff was wonderful and the Ballroom was beautiful!! Loved that the bartenders came with the venue!! Supper affordable!!
This was the perfect venue for us. We wanted to be on the water but wanted our own caterer and not have to deal with hotel guests like most weddings at the hotels on the beach.
I struggled finding a place to host my big event. I had seen several places, and Gulfport was on that list. I was not sure seeing the building from the outside, but once you step i...
nside, you step back into history into a quaint ballroom that is filled with character.
It was also perfect for us, because I wanted a beach wedding, but quickly found out that the resorts on the beach were VERY pricey. While it is not on the Gulf, it is on the Bay, and I still got my beach wedding, without having to move venues for the reception!
The space is pretty much one big dance floor, and a large dance floor was one of the things I was looking for in a venue. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed and wanted, and I could not be happier. Below, I will mention a few of the specifics that you may want to consider when looking at this venue:
Cost is for rental of facility only. You must bring in your own caterer. However, you CAN bring in your own caterer, unlike other venues, which require you to use their caterer, or an "approved" caterer.
Communication was always there from the Casino staff, but sometimes took a day or two. I am an instant gratification person, but once I got used to it, and knew they would eventually get back with me, it was not problem.
They have a bar in the facility, and you are not allowed to bring in your own alcohol. It must be provided through them...even for the champagne toast. However, you can do a cash bar, open bar, or whatever combination works best for you! For me, it was nice to not have to worry about it.
Unlike a hotel, you are responsible for all decorations, and linens, etc. I liked it because I was able to use all of my creativity and put it all together. However, it does take a little extra work to coordinate with the different vendors, and time to put it all together.
Over all, I think that Gulfport Casino is a hidden gem that is drastically under-utilized. It was everything that I could have wanted and more!!!!
Beautiful floors, a little draping goes a long way to hide the few sore spots. The staff was very easy to work with on everything from the bar selections, to the decorations, to th...
e fact that I was planning from another state. Hourly rates and bar prices are reasonable.
On the water with a great open space for guests!!;You have to buy the alcohol and drinks (other than coffee, tea, and water) from the venue.
