Groovin' Gourmets

Groovin' handled all our rentals, which made it such a breeze. The food was delicious (we got so many compliments from our guests!) and the service at our wedding was excellent. Would highly recommend!

ce, we were so pleased with every single aspect of working with GG. Would definitely recommend for your catering needs!

easer buffet was really perfect. They were flexible and accommodating even though it was a new venue for them. Michelle is great!

for catering our wedding was great and helped our vision come to life! The food was delicious and our guests kept telling us how much they loved it and how they went back for seconds! Our signature drinks were also delicious and Groovin Gourmets provided all the alcohol for us so we didn’t have to calculate anything ourselves! Overall, loved working with them and Kaylyn was main highlight!

te possibly has to be picking a caterer. There only seems to be a million of them and there’s so many options and it’s so dang expensive. My fiancé and I decided early in the planning process that if something felt right, we weren’t going to over think it or keep looking for other options, we were just going to go with what made us comfortable. God smiled down on us and I began corresponding with Kaylyn at Groovin’ Gourmet. From our first phone call, she made me feel comfortable and at ease. I immediately felt like I was in a seasoned professionals hands. I trusted her before I even chose Groovin. Kaylyn is 90% of why I chose to go with this company. And then we got to do our tasting and we were even more impressed! From the beginning of the process all the way thru and on to wedding day and then after, we were just continually pleased and pleasantly surprised. Surely everything can’t go 100% right but it absolutely did. And if it didn’t, we had no idea! We have received nothing but compliments from all of our friends on how amazing their food was (we served a plated dinner with filet, crab cakes or chicken as the options). We had a few gluten free meals and those folks have all come to us and told us how delicious their meals were and how professionally Groovin handled their special meals. If you are considering Groovin Gourmet, stop looking, stop considering other places, just sign the contract now and pray that you get to work with Kaylyn. However, as well oiled of a machine as this company is, I’m sure everyone there is just as wonderful. If you’re in the beginning of the planning process, I promise you won’t be disappointed with this company! I wouldn’t change anything.

it easy to choose what we wanted for our event. On the day of, the staff was phenomenal, serving everyone dinner very quickly and they were very attentive to both my husband and I and our guests. The appetizers during cocktail hour were delicious! Our one complaint was that one of the meal options we had ordered was changed pretty dramatically from our tasting. During the tasting, we had mahi-mahi with a cashew coating and a buttery sauce, which was our favorite and we recommended it to our friends and relatives. At the event, the fish was no longer coated in the cashews, but instead just had a large graham cracker looking piece on top which we assumed was made with cashews. Overall, it was not as good as when we had tried it at the tasting.

Gourmet was extremely kind and flexible with me, answering my endless questions. Leading up to the big day, Groovin' helped me secure rentals which was one less vendor to deal with for our wedding day - very helpful. Being able to bring in our own alcohol and have Groovin' staff serve was a huge plus for us as well. On our wedding day the Groovin' team was very kind and sweet during cocktail hour and reception dinner. They sent us home with a big goodie bag at the end of the evening too. My only observation was that the timeline we had discussed as a vendor team ahead of the wedding was a bit tight, and combined with audio problems we had with our DJ's setup, compiled into being behind schedule at the end of dinner. If we built a *touch* more bumper time into the event/dinner I think we would have been in better shape, but there was no way to know ahead of time. Highly recommend Groovin's food and customer care - fabulous vendor!

the food was DELICIOUS. All of our guests commented on how great the food was, but also the selection for the open bar. I heard many compliments on the bartenders as well. Overall, very impressed with them.

r guests raved about cocktail hour selection and we got more than one comment about the mashed potatoes of all things. They even worked with us to bring in special ingredients and make a special family tradition happen, not all caterers are willing to do that! What I would like to recommend most though is the catering team. I was the bride, and we were so ridiculously well taken care of. We were busy (as one is) and the team A. made sure we had time to eat and B. kept our food warm for us until we were ready. All of our guest commented on the outstanding service. They really went above and beyond!

uests. One of the event leads took time to talk with me during the reception and was so friendly and kind. It was a wonderful experience!

to work with throughout the process. She helped guide us through menu choices, service styles, and many different guests needs to help make sure we had options for everyone in attendance even with allergies and sensitivities. On the day of the event, the Groovin' Gourmets team was on top of everything. Their team knocked it out of the park as they handled the set-up, turnover from ceremony to reception and break-down at the end of the night. It honestly felt like we didn't even have to lift a finger and their team was on top of the details before we could even think about it. They really made everything seem so flawless and that is attributed to the awesome planning of the details by Michelle and then the execution of their team. Kudos 100x over to the Groovin' Gourmets team, even if they weren't the exclusive in-house caterer at my venue, I would have chosen them to cater my event because they knew exactly what they were doing and their food was AMAZING (The lobster mac and cheese...just do it!)

t up quietly (the ceremony was in the room next to where the food was being set up and we did not hear any noise from them!). The passed Hors d'oeuvres were plentiful (not to mention delicious) and the food displays were set up beautifully. Final kudos to Groovin for packing a Mr. and Mrs. to go basket with a little bit of everything. We really did not have an opportunity to eat at the reception so it was great to have that basket to go! Would recommend them to anyone looking for catering of any event , not just weddings.

on were so good! They suggested a cheesy orzo that people are still asking about. The food and drink service went off without an issue! Alaina was wonderful to work with leading up to the day, and everyone was so great to us the day of - made sure we were fed first and taken care of. It was such a smooth process and they triple checked with us leading up to the day to make sure we had everything we needed to take care of our guests!!

ime to take pictures. The salad was already at our seats, the staff worked hard to keep us fed and watered. We had a difficult time making up our minds on which meal to get, so we had them divide up the three meals: filet mignon, roasted branzino, and the acorn squash onto two plates. We knew we weren't the type of people to not eat at our own wedding, so thank you Groovin' Gourmet for making sure we ate.

of and helping me make all the small decisions when I wasn’t sure. The food was absolutely fantastic, we got many compliments after on the food and decor (most of which was from Groovin).

was out of this world!

of this world! We received such positive feedback from our guests, too. My husband and I were taking pictures during cocktail hour, so they saved us both a plate with all of the appetizers. They also gave us a basket full of food to take to the hotel that night--that was very clutch and much appreciated! Overall, the staff was very nice and did such a smooth job--couldn't have asked for a better night!

helped me figure out all of my food to rentals, china and silverware. They also provided all of the wait staff and flipped the ceremony to the reception. Everything was EXACTLY, if not better, than I had hoped for and pictured. I bought all the decor and linens and they put it all out without a problem. The food was tasty and affordable. I told her we wanted simple but good food to fit a certain budget and she worked with us. The only thing I will say was that some of the food was cold, but it can happen when you're feeding 150+ people. Also, we had tons of extra hor d'oeuvres so we weren't sure if it's because people didnt eat them or they weren't being passed out enough. Other than that, I highly recommend groovin gourmets to make your wedding go smoothly and efficiently. Thanks!

e tested out catering companies by asking if they could make some of our favorite foods. Groovin did a fantastic job - they prepared our dishes for the tasting, and the chef Tim came out during the tasting to talk with us about what we liked and disliked, and made changes accordingly. Amanda never had a problem making changes to our menu and recommending amounts of food based on our changing guest count. Groovin also did our rentals and did a good job. Alaina gave us great advice at our venue walk-through and helped us finalize everything we needed. Initially, it was hard making an exact apples-to-apples comparison between the different catering companies our venue works with (it seems like they each included different sets of things in their initial quotes), but I did some fairly extensive research - Groovin was the best value and gave us great service. Our guests all raved about the food - even the picky ones! I would definitely recommend them!

l until like 5 days prior to the wedding. The tasting was delicious but the food was slightly different for the actual event. For example, we did the fried pork chops and for the tasting we tried a thin boneless pork chop and for the event they served a thick cut pork chop with a bone. Both were delicious but there was definitely variation in the tasting and event day. During the reception when they began to breakdown tables to expand the dance floor they put my guests' belongings on the FLOOR. All in all they food was delicious and the staff that worked our event was wonderful.

left us feeling unsettled about how much money we were spending with this company on what was to be one of the most important days of our lives. However, Groovin' won us over at our tasting, where both taste and quality shone through and Brandon (the owner) made a point of acknowledging our initial trepidation & assuring us that we would not be disappointed. We weren't. Angelica (our catering coordinator) and Tim (our chef) pulled off an amazing event, with food that left people happy, full, and a little stunned, saying things like "I didn't think wedding food could taste that good" and "that was the best food I've EVER had at a wedding!" Angelica worked well with our "day of" coordinator and the event staff were polite, gracious, pleasant and professional. Despite the initial bumps, I would recommend them highly.

in and took over our planning, and never missed a beat. She was incredibly accommodating and responsive via email and phone calls. We got a ton of compliments on the food at the wedding. I also felt that the servers and staff at the wedding were beyond friendly and accommodating. There was one server who made sure that I was always fed with a drink in my hand at all times throughout the evening. Overall, Groovin' Gourmets provided us with great food and service and I highly recommend them for weddings!

!) and continued to provide prompt service during the planning process. I loved working with Kelley, who understood that I was working within a budget and was super helpful when I insisted on doing things like buying my own tablecloths (because they were $9 cheaper per cloth to BUY than to rent) and supplying my own alcohol. The food was great and I still get lots of compliments. We did a number of finger sandwiches, but the one that everyone keeps bringing up is the mushroom one. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I would definitely recommend them.

ith us on our budget which was great!

nd they were gone. While it is great that the guests loved these, the groom was looking forward to them but we were excited that our guests were able to enjoy them. At the end of the night-we were extremely pleased with the food and the service! We would definitely use Groovin' Gourmet again!

within minutes of my online inquiry and emailed me menu options! I had never dealt with a caterer before and I felt REALLY stupid at first but she quickly put me at ease. She answered all of my endless questions and really helped bring our vision of a relaxed buffet come to life! On the day of the wedding, they worked with the staff of the Valentine to make sure everything was perfect! Between the caterer & the Valentine, I really had nothing to worry about!

one girl who was the wedding coordinator for Groovin' Gourmets. And about 2 months before the wedding, I was told that she was leaving the company and someone else would be assigned to the wedding. I was nervous because I had worked with one person and she already knew all our plans and ideas. Kelley was the new staffer assigned to work with us; and she was awesome! She emailed me right away to introduce herself. I asked to meet with her; she set up a meeting within days. She already and gone over the details of my wedding notes thoroughly and made new notes about anything else I had to add. She was super nice and accommodating about everything. And everything came together perfectly at the wedding. Groovin' Gourmets coordinates with Classic Party Rentals in Richmond and handled all of the rentals and set up for us. Many of our guests came to me in the weeks after the wedding and raved about how delicious the food was!

use our consultants kept leaving. This was highly frustrated as we basically had one person who met with us and sold us on the company in the beginning, a second person who came to our 1-month walk-through and then a 3rd person actually execute the service at our wedding. This was super stressful for us, as we were always questioning whether the "vision" we had for the wedding would be passed along to the new person. The 3rd person who ended up working with us on the wedding day proved to be nice and accommodating, but again, it was difficult as we live in NY and could only really communicate with her over the phone. Otherwise, guests told us the food was good, we know that the bar service was great - and everything seemed to be executed as we asked.

ndled last minute details with great ease. The service at the wedding was EXCELLENT. they were very professional and their event coordinator Betina, was so sweet and kind to me through out the night. They all went above and beyond my expectations.

e on the menu, but the freedom to put together our ideal meal. The staff was prompt in their responses and made us very comfortable from start to finish. After a night of dancing without much time to eat, my new husband and I were so excited to get back to our hotel room and have a basket of goodies packed by Groovin' for a midnight snack! I would definitely recommend them.

t! The teenage waitstaff was a little rude though. They were clearing peoples place setting before they were done.
