I am incredibly saddened to be writing this review.
TLDR: I used Great Scott Images for 10 years and LOVED him but after many many issues recently I can no longer recommend him. ...
For context, I have been with Great Scott Images since my senior photos and used him yearly for family photos, my engagement and wedding photos, and referred him to many family members and friends over the years. Over the past couple of years this business has gone HUGELY downhill, I can no longer recommend this business and I can no longer remain silent about the numerous issues over the past few years.
First off, my wedding was June 2021. I didn’t receive my edited photos for months. I had to email several times to try to get updates. My package included a usb with all of my edited photos and a photo album. I didn’t receive the final part of my package until this past December, 2.5 years after my wedding.
My sister got married last year and booked Great Scott. On her wedding day he showed up late, he didn’t have a second photographer but rather his teenage daughter who had never shot a wedding before and didn’t tell my sister this ahead of time. They were supposed to have 1 photographer taking photos of the men getting ready and 1 of the women. He “forgot” and his daughter didn’t make it in time to photograph the men getting ready so they have no photos of them during that time. After the ceremony both him and his daughter were together taking family portraits instead of having one of them out taking photos of the guests during cocktail hour. Much of the evening that he was there both photographers were sitting on the edge of the dance floor snapping photos instead of having one of them in another location taking photos. It also took her several months to finally get back all of her edited images. She still does not have her photo album or usb with her photos and it has been over a year since her June 2023 wedding.
Now what I really can’t wrap my head around is how he treated my sister-in-law who got married recently. He told her TWO DAYS before her wedding that he had just realized he double booked her and wouldn’t be able to shoot her wedding. He offered her a $300 refund (even though she had already paid in full ~$3,000) and said he would try to get a friend of his to do her wedding. She (thankfully) was able to find a different photographer. He has yet to respond to multiple text messages from my SIL over the past two weeks asking for a full refund due to him not providing the services she paid for.
If you want a professional photographer who you can count on to fulfill your package in a timely manner, I recommend you find someone other than Great Scott Images.
Unprofessional! I would definitely do your research when picking your photographer. I thought his years in business meant that he was trusted and a well respected individual! I was...
disappointed on his actions. If you do just basic research on his Facebook page. You will notice very little comments about his work. That’s because he deletes all negative post. He’s un responsive to phone calls and email. You will be waiting months to years to receive what you paid for. Still waiting for our USB drive from our September 2023 wedding. Scam! Run the other direction. I had multiple guest and vendor the day of the wedding note how rude he was. How embarrassing!
It saddens me to write this post. I would not recommend this vendor to anyone. I was incredibly disappointed with my overall experiece with GreatScott. From the communication prior...
, the day of event, the follow up and the actual images.
I am not one to write reviews as i feel everyone may have an off day. However i think this should be noted that no business should run like this.
From the beginning. communication seemed to be slow or off. Always hard to get responses from. was also late to the engagement shoot. getting those pictures i had to request and it seemed behind.
on the day of - i had muliple guest and vendors from our wedding come up to me say how came off verry rude.
No attention to detail. would not take any note or direction given.
I requested photos of a special chair set up for my late father. no pictures were captured. i also request pictures of my bouquet that was wrapped in my fathers late shirt. he forgot and throw my bouquet on the floor. the photo received was missing the detail and the bouquet i spent money on. on top of that the ring shots were not placed together correctly and he didnt use the ring box that he was given.
after the wedding is where it really hurts. our contract we signed said 6 weeks.
with multiple communication forms from text, email and phone. i had little to no communication back.
I have some follow up by two girls in office - but then it went silent. i finally got him to responde to an email after my husband chimed in. we only recieved a portion of photos and still had to wait. we were well after 18 weeks from our wedding. well past double the amount of time our contract notes. still waiting for the rest of the photos.
I have noticed to that he deletes all comments on his facebook page.
I made a post in a bridal group page asking if others if they used them. the number of responses and DM direct to me were outstanding. This business practice seems to be a trend. Many that have hired him as well are in the same boat. no response - or follow up and waiting on images. some have said that they waited over a year and still are waiting on prints.
another girl i work with also used him for her wedding prior to mine and she is still waiting for prints.
Please do your research and don't get burned like we did.
hold these vendors accountable for their contracts.
Do not recommend. Run the other way.
I honestly feel he ruined my photos and the excitement of seeing them afterwards.
Well I’ll say the wedding photos we’ve seen online in his zenfolio are decent though we have not received our package yet.
Moderate issue was Scott was in an admittedly off mood ...
the day of the wedding much different from his attitude at our sit down to meet him. He was passive aggressive and borderline rude to the guys which upset the groom and best man both being humiliated at different times. Though he was nice enough to the women for the most part, but they too heard how he was treating the men and were quite upset too. Afterwards they seemed rushed a bit to get out of there and we felt that he didn’t utilize his time as well as he could have. However, Scott also acted as the officiant for the couple, and did a decent job making everyone engaged and making the couple smile and laugh during the ceremony. Chris was the second shooter during the ceremony so nothing was missed, while Scott was acting as the officiant. so we have to give them positive reinforcement with that.
Our biggest issue that is a major concern is that we were promised our photos on a flash drive in 8 weeks. We paid in full in advance and we have not yet received our package yet,7 months later, and several ignored phone calls and emails. At one point about 5 months after the wedding they responded with an excuse of our photos were “accidentally archived” and would immediately be ordered with the newest mass order and should be receiving them in a few weeks. Months more have passed by and we still do not have them nor do they answer messages or calls. We’re afraid we are to the point that we are going to have to contact an attorney if we want our photos. Upon reading posts on their Facebook page, this seems to be a recurring trend of people complaining about being promised one thing and then ignored for months and months and not received their portrait packages..

n so impressed by this work and how he can capture the tone of a wedding. He is great to work with! I loved that he was able to edit photos from early in the day and put them up for guests to see at the reception. I had several people ask for his contact information at our wedding because of how great he is and the work he does. I would recommend Great Scott Images in a heartbeat!

d I still cannot believe how nicely they turned out. I will recommend Scott and his team to everyone and anyone getting married.
Terrible experience. The shoot went well for our wedding in October 2018. However, the problem started immediately after. Our contract talked about us receiving our photos no later...
than 6 weeks post event. It has now been almost 16 weeks and now we finally learned that Chris, our photographer, finally dropped off the photos to get finished. During this entire time we reached out several times to Chris and GreatScott Images to find out where our pictures were and were either ignored or told they would work on it. I am thoroughly upset about the whole situation, especially since it has given us undue stress as we started to become concerned the images were lost or destroyed. I would not recommend this group to anyone. Go spend thousands of dollars somewhere else, where at least you get what you paid for. Terrible customer service, the phone line also has a full mailbox, so good luck getting ahold of anyone through that service. Please look elsewhere for your photo needs.
GreatScott Images was AWESOME and was the best vendor to work with for our wedding. We happened to live out of state and were not able to meet until the day of the wedding. We had ...
Scott as our lead photographer and Chris (what a fun duo!). Here is what made them great - they are flexible (exchanged the engagement photography session for addition time on the wedding day), were able to provide good location sites for outdoor photographs (both urban and park/greenery), made the family photos fly by, wrangled the rowdy groomsmen into place, had a fun game to play at the reception to ensure we had photographs with everyone, and most importantly the shots look great.
Chris is the best photographer we could've asked for! He captured our day so perfectly, and went above and beyond to make sure he captured all of the moments we wanted him to. He w...
as even willing to shoot during the rehearsal dinner to capture extra photos of our extended family. Chris made everyone in the bridal party feel comfortable and included. The photos are absolutely stunning-- a perfect representation and memory of our perfect day!

ved in the wedding was comfortable and included. Seeing some of the pictures during the reception was an awesome touch; everyone told us how awesome the photos were. Chris was so fun and awesome during the whole day. I cannot wait to see the photos because it was such a fun process taking the pictures. Thank you again Chris for helping make our day awesome!

m our engagement pictures, and then he and his assistant spent 10 hours with us on our wedding day! Scott has a wonderful sense of humor and is very comfortable to be around. He is open to suggestions and likes to take fun photos. GreatScott Images capture the passion, romance, fun and overall feel of the wedding day! During the ceremony and reception I didn't even realize Scott and Chris were in the room! We received our discs with all our photos on it less than a month after our wedding. Even the cover for the discs is incredible!
Scott was such a pleasure to work with and his photos turned out beautiful! We are so happy with the results. Gorgeous! He definitely has an eye for beautiful shots!
