Goody Blue Shoes Party Band

on what to look for when choosing the right band — which immediately showed how much he cares about couples having the best experience possible. After seeing them perform live at La Scala’s Restaurant, we were completely sold. The entire band is unbelievably talented, versatile and truly incredible performers. Throughout the planning process, John made everything so easy and fun. He took the time to really get to know us and understand the exact vibe and music we wanted for our wedding, and he and the band absolutely delivered beyond expectations. From the hyped-up announcements to our meaningful first dances and nonstop party music, every moment was perfect. The second our formal dances ended, the entire dance floor was packed and stayed that way until the very last song. The band’s energy was contagious — interactive, engaging and so much fun — they completely elevated the entire celebration. Our guests are still non-stop talking about how amazing the band was and keep asking for their contact information. Hands down, the best wedding band ever!!! We cannot recommend Goody Blue Shoes enough! Thank you for making our wedding everything we have dreamed of and more !!

to our wedding day to iron all the details and he made recommendations that made the reception absolutely perfect. He is an expert at what he does and the best emcee you’ll meet.  The band will blow you away. The dance floor was packed with everyone crushing it all night long. They bring an energy that is unmatched. We’ve had tons of people reach out after our wedding to ask for their information and tell us how much fun they had dancing with us. They will give you an experience worth investing in! We are forever grateful we decided to work with GBS!

truly one of the highlights of the night. The energy, talent, and fun they brought had everyone on the dance floor all night, and our guests loved not just the music but also the performance. Working with John was such a pleasure throughout the process. Every meeting left us feeling completely taken care of and in the best hands. He genuinely cares about each couple, creates a personalized experience, and offers honest, helpful feedback. He was also so accommodating with all of our ideas and plans, which meant so much. Goody Blue Shoes is fun, energetic, and unbelievably talented. We could not recommend them more highly, and we truly hope to attend another wedding where they’re playing soon!

ance floor all night long—laughing, singing, dancing, and soaking up every second of the incredible energy this band brought. You could feel the chemistry of the band members radiating! People are still raving about them days later, and honestly, so are we (we even went to see them perform 2 weeks after because we cannot get enough!). Every requested song was played flawlessly (From the Cotton-Eyed Joe to Forever and Ever, Amen)—they nailed our vibe and made each moment feel so special and personal. Whether it was a slow romantic ballad or a high-energy party anthem, they delivered it with talent, heart, and style. And we have to give a huge shoutout to John, who was truly a dream to work with. He guided us through every step of the process with calm, kindness, and professionalism—offering fantastic advice on song choices, helping us incorporate our guests in fun ways, and making sure we felt completely supported from beginning to end. Thanks to him, we felt so taken care of and relaxed, knowing we were in expert hands, we never worried about a thing!!! If you're looking for a band that will blow your guests away, keep the party going all night, and treat your wedding like it’s the most important day of their lives—Goody Blue Shoes is it. They were everything we hoped for and more!!!

way so we could do something special for the Father of the Bride. They kept the party going, followed our song choices, and even learned new songs for the ceremony and reception. As two musicians, our wedding music was very important to us. GBS met, and surpassed, our high expectations. We wouldn’t recommend anyone else!

joy to every moment of our day. One of the highlights was how they went above and beyond to learn special songs just for us — including beautiful renditions of Paul McCartney’s My Love and the Isley Brothers’ Voyage to Atlantis — which made our reception feel so personal and unforgettable. They also provided an amazing jazz trio for our cocktail hour that set the perfect vibe, and they made it so easy for us to incorporate a stunning string ensemble with piano for our ceremony. Every part of the day was seamless, and that’s thanks in large part to John, who was a total dream to work with. He made the entire process feel effortless, handled every detail with care, and truly made us feel supported from the very first conversation. Of all the incredible vendors we worked with, the GBS Band was hands-down our favorite. John and the band feel like lifelong friends now, and we are beyond grateful to them for making our wedding as magical as it was. If you’re looking for a band, look no further — they are simply the best!

ur vision perfectly!!! So many guests complimented the band and we are so happy we went with them. I can't recommend them enough!!!

listened and curated what we were looking for. It’s evident they really love their job and clients and they were the most fun vendor we worked with!

d oriented, meeting with us multiple times before the wedding to get to know us as a couple, going over details of the flow of the wedding, and also really fine tune our music preferences. My stress before the wedding was really at ease thanks to John. As for the day of, guests still are talking about how incredible GBS was! The dance floor was packed all night and GBS did an incredible job of keeping the music flowing and setting an amazing pace for the wedding. Thank you GBS band so much you guys were INCREDIBLE!!

. John (the band leader) was incredible to work with. He was communicative, kind and friendly. He made my husband and I feel even more excited for our wedding. At the wedding they played at the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. John had great suggestions for music and listened to exactly what we wanted. The dance floor was packed for the whole reception and we had SO much fun at the wedding, largely thanks to Goody Blue Shoes. If they do weddings in your area you would be missing out if you didn’t have them for your wedding.

much trust in him from the times we met leading up to our wedding day. Having had GBS took so much stress off our shoulders that day. They played everything from Levels by Aviici to 80’s to pop punk and played it so well! Our dance floor was packed all night. I am now on a mission to convince couples we know to use GBS for their own wedding so we can experience the magic of them just one more time! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR MAKING OUR WEDDING!

iends tell us how they needed to book them for their own wedding. We had the best night of our life- there is not better band ever! Getting to the greatest night of our lives, John makes preparation extremely fun. He is so accessible, responsive, dedicated and fun. The ultimate MC and a kick a$$ band. we love them and you need to get this band!!

then boyfriend, Daniel and I got engaged and knew exactly who we wanted to call. As we reminisce on our wedding day, Daniel and I cannot express how blessed and grateful we were to have the opportunity to work with John. From the moment we called him to ask questions, each and every meeting, until the end of our fairy tale wedding, John and his team were amazing- words cannot describe. John was so patient, caring and willing to do whatever it took to turn our dream wedding into a reality! We had a few songs played during the night for special reasons for loved ones and GBS were absolutely top notch. I cannot imagine our wedding without Goody Blue Shoes preforming our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Booking GBS, you and your guests are guaranteed to have the night of your lives! -Daniel and Gina Crawford

amazing live band was the most important thing we wanted at our wedding. We are fortunate to live in an area that in the summer has endless bars with live music. It is our favorite thing to do but we are also very picky. We had full intentions of hiring one of the local bands we love and having them make the trip. After one meeting with John of The Goody Blue Shoes that all changed. His energy, expertise, and good vibes are infectious. You can tell that this is more than just a job to him and he goes above and beyond to build a relationship with his clients. Even though he had other events going on we always felt like we were his only couple and he always made time for us. John goes over every detail and was almost like having a second wedding planner. His main goal is to make your wedding day perfect in any way that he can. No is not in John's vocabulary if you want something he will make it happen. We could not have been happier with the whole planning process and John made it as stress-free as possible. The band is incredible, our guests cannot stop talking about the band and how amazing they sounded. We had one guest tell us they wished they had heard them before booking their band. They said they are 300 times better than the band they hired and would have flown The Goody Blue Shoes to Maryland! Another guest told us it took him a minute to realize that it was the female vocalist who was singing during our ceremony not a recording. These are just a few of the many amazing things our guests had to say about The Goody Blue Shoes. They will learn all your first dance songs and even learned a few of our favorite songs that we love to see live. They will not just learn the songs you request but crush them and make them as special as the original versions! John is also an amazing MC, all night he keeps the party rolling and makes sure everything happens as intended. Hiring the Goody Blue Shoes was the best decision we made and we can say confidently that our wedding would not have been the same without them. Their pricing is extremely reasonable and we felt they went above and beyond what we paid them for. John, I cannot thank you and the Band enough for making our wedding night perfect. Right from the beginning we told you we wanted our wedding to be a huge party where everyone was dancing, and you exceeded all expectations. We will miss our planning calls, texts, and Zoom calls but we will definitely be partying with you guys again soon!

and accommodating. We had a 10-piece band at an extremely affordable price compared to their competitors. John is so attentive and thoughtful. We had dinner with him for our first meeting and had multiple calls and zoom meetings to follow - nailing down timelines, music and special requests. John arranged for a flautist and pianist to play our custom music for the ceremony, had an amazing jazz trio for our cocktail hour, and the full 10-piece band for our reception. They learned multiple songs for us to make our wedding feel personalized and custom and even let my dad who is a musician play with them on some sets. Not to mention- every member of the band is extremely talented. We highly recommend GBS Party Band!

et with him 3 times prior to the wedding to go over every single detail. He listened to every idea and helped us craft the perfect day. Their pianist is excellent! He accompanied every part of our ceremony and cocktail hour gorgeously. At the end of our ceremony, a few of the horns from the group popped in the back and played us out to "This Will Be", which was just over the top perfection! Everyone was surprised! My favorite part was that my husband and his mother wanted to make a drink together instead of do a first dance. But, they chose "Step In Time" from Mary Poppins (it has a lot of significance for them), and John and the team embraced the idea wholeheartedly and created a beautiful and fun rendition of the song! We are still getting compliments months later from our guests. We all had a fantastic time, and I cannot recommend the Goody Blue Shoes team enough!

, at a sound check in Ocean City, New Jersey through the last song at our wedding -- the best cover of Mr. Brightside that we've ever heard -- GBSPB provided us with a genuine and custom wedding experience. John and his team worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail of our wedding was thought-out and executed to perfection. At the reception, GBSPB delivered a lively performance that energized every guest at our wedding and kept them on the dance floor throughout the night. Our wedding playlist ranged from 1960s classics, Motown, a 1990s pop mega mashup, and today's hits. GBSPB demonstrated impressive musical range and knocked each genre out of the park. We're proud to be GBSPB wedding alumni and we can't wait to see them perform again. If you are planning a wedding in the Philadelphia region, GBSPB should be your wedding band! Cheers, Nicole & Mark

start to finish, the experience was nothing short of amazing, and a significant part of that credit goes to the exceptional service provided by John, the band's point person. John went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding music was not just a playlist, but a personalized and unforgettable experience. His dedication was evident from the multiple meetings we had to discuss our preferences and to customize every detail to match our vision. What truly set John and Goody Blue Shoes apart was his genuine interest in making our wedding unique. One of the standout qualities was John's incredible memory and attention to detail. He took the time to remember not only our names but even our grandparents' names. He even gifted us with our favorite drink at the reception. This personal touch added a level of warmth and familiarity that made the entire celebration feel even more special. It's these small, thoughtful gestures that truly set Goody Blue Shoes apart from the rest. When it came to the music, Goody Blue Shoes exceeded all expectations. The band played a curated selection of songs that resonated with our tastes, creating an atmosphere that perfectly reflected the essence of our relationship. Their ability to read the crowd and keep everyone on the dance floor throughout the night was something that dozens of guests continue to rave about well after the wedding was over. If you're in the process of considering a wedding band, look no further than Goody Blue Shoes. The level of professionalism, dedication, and talent they bring to the table is unparalleled. Trust me when I say that having Goody Blue Shoes play at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made during the entire planning process. They not only met our expectations but far exceeded them, making our day truly unforgettable. Thank you, John, and the entire Goody Blue Shoes band, for making our wedding celebration absolutely magical!

he planning meetings up until our wedding. They made sure every detail and aspect was planned for. When planning your wedding, the reception is a HUGE portion of the day--- having the right band/music sets the ENTIRE reception. I learned through our meetings that John was going to make sure the reception went EXACTLY as we had hoped for. To show the level of detail he goes to - he even talked with the event caterer to know when food would approximately come out to know how many songs we could and in what order the events (such as the cake cutting, first dance, father dance, etc) went! We were so thrilled with how our entire night went and John and his team made sure everything we wanted to happen happened. You will have meetings (more than 1!) that go above and beyond to nail down every detail that is important to you. Another example - he thoroughly goes over pronunciations of each member of the bridal party so every person is announced correctly. Him and his team are so personable. On top of this they are BEYOND talented!!!! Having a band was so important to us to set the tone for an amazing event. If having a band is top of your list (and you want your wedding/event to be unique and top class) then going with GOODY BLUE SHOES is the way to go!!!! Although weddings costs A LOT and bands are more than DJS - having them as a BAND was worth every $ we spent! Thank you John and your the amazing team for helping to give us the wedding of our dreams!!! XOXO Greg and Val

sure our day was perfect. Whether it was getting the ceremony audio set up, cocktail hour or the reception itself, GBS had us covered. Our wedding was a few months ago and we still have our guests bringing up how great the band was. You will not find a better band at a more affordable price guaranteed! I cannot say enough nice things about this group of people! Highly highly recommend!

was full all night long and when we see guests from our wedding, they STILL comment on how amazing our wedding band was. Their versatility, stellar vocals, and energy were all out of this world. John was an amazing MC and kept the events of the night moving swimmingly, working closely with the venue coordinator not only the night of but also making several phone calls leading up to the wedding to coordinate things so I didn’t have to worry about it. John made us feel like his only clients throughout the entire process and was super accommodating and flexible when we inevitably needed to a reschedule our wedding due to COVID restrictions. We truly received white glove service from the time we started communicating all the way through to our wedding day. We are so glad we went with the the Goody Blue Shoes Band and wouldn’t have changed a thing!

lorals / decor to find the band of our dreams. Having a packed dance floor and the party of a lifetime was our goal, and GBS exceeded all expectations. From the moment we spoke with John, we were sold by his charisma and positive demeanor. We were a bit nervous as we didn't have the chance to see GBS in person prior to booking, but we loved their videos so much we knew that they would be great. Well... 1 year later and great doesn't cover it. The goody blue shoes were the absolute highlight of our wedding and kept the party going all night long. They were able to learn all the songs we wanted for those special moments, and curated a set list that matched the exact vibe we were going for. They were even able to keep my 90 year old nana dancing all night which is a feat in itself. Our wedding reception would not have been the same without GBS - from our grand entrance, to our first dance (slow version of brown eyed girl that they learned for us and absolutely crushed), and the hora, they truly went above and beyond. Our guests cannot stop raving about GBS and said it was the best wedding band they had ever heard. To top everything off, GBS surprised us with a last song... "Dancing on My Own" knowing that we were huge Phillies fans and the Phil's won their playoff game during our wedding. GBS also wasn't just spectacular the night of, they were incredible throughout the entire planning process. We met with John multiple times to make sure he had everything covered to create our perfect day. I've already recommended GBS to all of my friends who are planning weddings, and can't wait to see them perform again. They are the best of the best!

horn section, and lots of versatility. You. will. not. find. better. than. Goody. Blue. Shoes. I guarantee it. They were THE reason our wedding was awesome. The professionalism from the moment we hired them to the talent the day of, there are truly not enough words. From the pie in the sky wedding processional idea, I had to welcoming my father-in-law, a musician, to sing with them for our first dance. Truly incredible.

ent from the first call to the last note. The whole process was fun, and we felt like they really got to know us. The final picture from our wedding was taken from the stage, and the dance floor was completely packed. We can't say enough good things about GBS!!! SERIOUSLY - BOOK THEM - YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

w couple that become new friends. When we first met with John, we spent a little over 3 hours talking about life, marriage and what our wedding means to us. When we pictured our ideal wedding, it included minimal sitting and small talk, and the GBS band delivered just that!!! Our guests were RAVING (and still are!) about the GBS Band. They play an amazing wide range of music that keeps every guest of every age up on the dance floor. We actually had a guest tell us that they felt like the dance floor was too small because it was so crowded all night long. Jared and Marissa are flawless on vocals and the whole band is there to support them. My husband and I are thinking of events we can host so that we can hire the GBS band again. We will definitely be looking into their events at locals bars just so we can see them again. GBS Band made our wedding the most fun night of our lives and we owe it all to them!!! <3

dding. They made our entire wedding night and had our guests dancing from beginning to end. Even the guests who do not usually dance were dancing! John was in contact with us leading up to the wedding and was so supportive of our ideas. He got us so hype about our wedding day!!! They truly care about you and want to make sure you have the best wedding. John did a great job of making sure the wedding flowed and that we did not miss a chance to dance! I wish I could do it all over again. They are the BEST wedding band!!!!! They have us as fans for life!! Thank you again for giving us the wedding of our dreams!!!!

back about how freaking incredible they were, not a minute went by that there weren’t people on the dance floor because of them! They truly are the best and I couldn’t have asked for a better band/family to join us and celebrate our special day! Love you guys!!

was perfect from start to finish. Chris, the piano player, played the most beautiful versions of our favorite songs to help make our ceremony so special. As guests moved into the reception space, the band invited them in with feel-good tunes. When the party got started, everyone was dancing- even Mom-mom! John helped up with every step in planning for a wonderful night and it was executed perfectly. GBS feels like family and we are so grateful for them!

ou book them. When searching for a band, I had listened to countless hours and watched an insane amount of footage. Within the first 10 seconds of hearing GBS, I knew we needed to lock this in. Little did I know that this was the best decision and only the beginning. From John's initial contact with us, I knew we were in good hands. He made everything so PERSONAL and genuinely put our minds at ease because this guy has seen it all. He is a true master of not only his craft, but really supporting and planning the flow of day in relation to the music. To my husband and I, the band was the second (aside from the actual marriage) most IMPORTANT part of our day. We knew that if all went wrong and we had no venue, we wanted a band, and we wanted this to feel like a concert. GBS EXCEEDED all expectations of what that meant for us. We had a room full of musicians in attendance, and from the very first set- our guests came up to us saying the same thing: "how the HECK did you find this band". We truly feel so lucky. John has become more of a friend to us throughout the planning process... He offered guidance when asked, and left the personal touches to us, while somehow bringing everything together in the best way possible. Our friends and family have not stopped talking about this band. My husband and I wanted to really be surprised by what the contents of each set would contain, while communicating with John different genres and songs that we do and do not like. By those conversations alone, GBS cultivated a setlist that hit every guests wishlist that they didn't even KNOW they had. They started the night with the music my husband and our families love and resonate with, and transitioned all the way to a 90's throwback absolute RAGER to finish the night having our highschool and college friends losing their minds. Since we will not be getting married again, we will have to just recommend GBS to every single couple we come across. Thank you so much John and GBS for making our wedding the night we have only imagined in our dreams.

much research on wedding bands and I would say the one big thing that stood out to me were the break times. So many other bands I spoke to were going to take two 40-minute breaks..not GBS. Their breaks were minimal and even when they did break they made sure the party never stopped. We met with John over zoom a few times prior to the wedding and he really got to know us as a couple and how we imagined our day. The execution was unreal. The group also learned so many of our favorite songs. I had so many guests come up to me the night of the wedding and even after saying the band was the best they had ever seen. No one will remember your flowers, centerpieces, signage, etc - put your money towards the two things that can make or break a wedding - music and food. If I could hire one vendor again - it would hands down be GBS. Thank you, GBS for making our wedding the best.

n a recommendation from a friend and the minute I got on the phone with John, I knew I wanted them at my wedding. John's pre wedding process is absolutely unmatched. You can tell he truly cares about his couples and wants to get to know them so he can really customize their sets. We had multiple zoom calls and even went out for dinner and drinks a month before the wedding to nail down every detail. The day of the wedding you would have thought John was a part time wedding coordinator. Our timeline ran exactly how it was supposed to (or if it didn't, nobody knew) because of John. The band sounded AMAZING and had people on the dance floor all night. My dad chose a very unique father daughter song (Thank You by Led Zeppelin) that I was nervous about trying to replicate. GBS took it and created the most beautiful version of it that I could have imagined. Whenever anyone talks about our wedding the first thing they mention is how incredible GBS was. I couldn't imagine my day without them. Book them ASAP. I can't wait to go party with them the next time they do a local gig!!

NTINUOUSLY getting compliments on the band! My absolute favorite thing about John is that he took the time to get to know my husband and I. During our first meeting, we talked about our favorite music styles, but he mostly asked us about how my husband and I met, fun facts and stories about us, and everything else to get to know us. After this initial meeting, John made the process of choosing our song list and the vibes for our wedding the easiest and most exciting journey. Music was the most important aspect of our wedding and I can only begin to express my happiness on our decision to choose Goody Blue Shoes for both our cocktail hour, reception, and private last dance. *And the most reasonably priced band we talked to!!!* They not only knew exactly what myself, my husband, and the crowd were looking for but are INCREDIBLY talented. I’ve made so many recommendations for future brides I know personally, so I knew I needed to do it on here, too. I could go on and on, but the gist of this review is take your wedding to the next level and HIRE THEM.

ly made our wedding day a blast! Thank you so much !! Best day ever!!
