Lauren promised the bridesmaids their belongings would be safely returned to their rooms so they could enjoy the reception. She later told them to collect everything before 11 p.m. or she couldn't guarantee it wouldn't be thrown in the trash. The reception ended at 11, with a sparkler send-off afterward! This caused needless panic during a celebration we paid professionals to manage. From 1 to 3 a.m., my husband and I searched desperately for our daughter's expensive custom-made wedding gown, veil, and other belongings. We finally found the gown bundled into a garment bag meant for a man's jacket. Her expensive veil was crumpled like trash beneath picture frames in a plastic bin. I personally handed that veil to Lauren, who promised to take care of it. When my husband spoke with Kelsey, she tried to blame a bridesmaid for the gown. But I was with the bridesmaids when our daughter changed. Both maids of honor confirmed none of them accompanied her. Only our daughter, her new husband, and Lauren went with her to change. Rather than investigate and take responsibility, the owner shifted blame onto the bridal party. I also have a heart condition and needed water at my chair in the extreme outdoor heat. Lauren's assistant, Peyton, failed to bring it and continued to dismiss my pleas. Someone from the venue, not Golden Hour Events, finally brought it. Both the wedding cake and groom's cake were supposed to be boxed up. They weren't. Aside from the top tier delivered to the newlyweds' room, the cakes were missing. We were told they had all been served to guests, an explanation I find very hard to believe given our guest count and the size of the cakes. Mistakes happen. What matters is accountability. Instead, we encountered attitude, defensiveness, and blame-shifting. We paid for peace of mind and spent hours searching for treasured wedding items. No parent should be hunting for a custom wedding gown at 3 a.m., and no bride should find her veil crumpled in a bin. I would NEVER recommend Golden Hour Events. The true measure of a wedding planner is what happens on the wedding day, not how reassuring they sound beforehand. In our experience, Lauren and Kelsey and Peyton failed our family when it mattered most. One star is more than this experience deserves.
