grapher who reviewed our images was embarrassed for us. Even our florist, who has been awaiting our professional photos to showcase her floral arrangements, called this the "worst" photography she has ever seen, and she has been in the business for a long time. We wanted a dark and moody style and made that abundantly clear during our consultation. Instead, they used a "light and airy" editing style and relied on bright flashes all night. As a result, you can’t even see the candlelight in the venue or appreciate the beautiful colors. When I requested a consultation to discuss how they messed up, they tried to gaslight me into believing these photos were good! The images were taken from unflattering angles and about 30% of them included the second photographer. It honestly looked like someone’s mom took the photos! Every single one of my ceremony photos had the other photographer in them, and they claimed these pictures were quality work! It blows my mind! They don’t seem to care that they ruined the memory of my wedding. How can anyone look at these photos, see the other photographer in them, and leave that in the final edits? Just wow!

The last thing I want to worry about on my wedding day is trying to find another photographer!! We ended up cancelling our reservation with George Street Photography.

I went with George Street because they were reliable in that if the photographer I had chosen was not able to attend there were others that could be sent out. I enjoyed working with Francie for my wedding day and the photographer who did my bridals was very sweet as well. They are more reasonably priced compared to others and reliable which were the most important qualities I was looking for.

and all seemed well. George Street is a large company and has a lot of positive things going for them in that regard. Bigger, however, does not always mean better. We meet with the photographer we selected from the few portfolios we were shown for our engagement session, and the pictures were really not that great. We weren't given a whole lot of direction in taking the photos. Several of the pictures given to us were out of focus. And one of the photos that made the "editors album" or whatever, was one picture in which I was clearly not paying in attention to the camera or the shoot. Additionally, whoever edited the photos did such a poor job on some of the black and white photos that I look to almost have a black eye. Bottom line, it felt like the person taking the photos didn't really care how they came out, and the person editing the photos didn’t really care how they came out. We shared out concerns, and it felt like no one cared to own the poor results! It was a poor enough experience that we don't trust George Street enough to shoot or video our wedding day, and we are cancelling our contract with the company. My advice to you is to find a more local photographer to shoot your special day as opposed to working with a major company like George Street. Find a photographer that you can speak to DIRECTLY! Find someone with their own website/Instagram page and see if you like their style. There is a benefit to someone who works for themselves :)

munication. George Street works by contracting out independent photographers and videographers which you get to choose based off the portfolio on the George Street website. The frustrating part was I had to always go through the middle man (my George Street coordinator) rather than the videographer and photographer themselves until A COUPLE DAYS prior to the wedding when I finally got the contact information for my hired photo and video team. It was unsettling to not be 100% sure of the details until just days before the wedding. One of my videographers told me he didn't know he was shooting my wedding until a week or so prior to the wedding!! I was frustrated that I had not heard from my talent team, but no wonder I had not heard from him, poor guy did not know he was even shooting my wedding.... I am just thankful he was able to show up and make it! But again, that's not his fault that's a contractor problem. All in all I was very pleased with who my talent team was on the wedding day and cannot blame the communication problem on them. Peter & Andre were my videographers and Violetta and Nicole were my photographers. Although I have not received any of my footage yet (that will be a separate review), all of them were fantastic to work with on the day of the wedding and worked very hard. I feel confident the pictures and videos captured will be great!! Violetta was very efficient with sticking to my strict timeline to get all the family photos I had requested. Peter & Andre were very good about being present and getting a lot of great footage. I feel that unfortunately the individual photographers/videographers get a bad reputation because of George Streets' lack of communication with them and I hope that it improves!

through a middle man at George Street. About 4 days before my wedding I received an e-mail that my lead photographer that I chosen would not be able to shoot my wedding because of a family emergency, extremely disappointing, but I get it.. Things happens. The real problem is the photographer they assigned to me at random without asking my opinion on ANYTHING. I specified the style shots I wanted as well as specific shots I wanted. The photographer arrived and brought his wife along. After the ceremony he had us doing the most cheesy, awkward shots that I kept telling him I didn’t want, but he kept insisting “one more, one more.” My husband gave his groomsmen jars of homemade wine as a gift. Some of the groomsmen were drinking it in the groom’s suite and the photographer’s wife (who I still can’t figure out why she was even there) went and told the security guards. We had a fully stocked bar, all the security required for the amount of people we had attending our wedding and were following the rules, but she was sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong and trying to cause issues. After our wedding my mom brought to my attention that the photographer didn’t get a single picture of my father and me, my mother and me, my maid of honor (my sister) and me, my grandparents and me, my husband and his parents.. NOTHING! The only photos we got were group shots of our entire families and the corny shots that he kept on insisting that we do. I was kicking myself for not noticing, but then I realized.. THAT is what I paid this guy thousands of dollars for. To execute these important shots without me having to tell him how to do his job. THIS is what I am most upset about. Such a special day and I don’t even have a picture with my mom, dad or sister. The photos that we got back were either unedited or very poorly edited. One photo that he did “edit” left a huge shadow under my armpit and it looked like I hadn’t shaved in a month. The bottom line is it is a total gamble going with this company. You choose a contracted photographer at random. The only factor you really have to base your decision is a handful of photos by said photographer (if you get the one you paid for.) The quality of photos taken and editing were very poor. A videographer will be given to you at random a couple of days before the wedding. With that being said, my husband and I were actually very happy with our videographer. He did a wonderful job. Steer clear of this company, avoid their tempting “deals” and pay the extra money for high quality photos on the most special day.

Exit, and extra photos in between venues! When we got our photos back we were blown away. Jamaal has an amazing eye for photography. We couldn’t be happier with our choice- George Street Photo and Video, and we were so lucky to have Jamaal as our photographer! Thanks so much Jamaal!

y only have the memories and the pictures taken. Caity and her associate photographer, Amy, made sure that .every.single.moment. was captured! Caity was such a pleasure to work with for my bridal shoot and the wedding day! Everyone she interacted with, loved her. And her photography skills were AMAZING. I would recommend Caity a million times over!! Now, the 1 star dig comes from the actual "George Street Photography"! First off, you pay A LOT of money for a photographer, so there's that. When I got my bridal portraits back, there seemed to be minimal editing to them. When I inquired about it, I was told that they are a "photojournalistic company" (ie what you see in the photos is what you'd see in real life, so no cosmetic or altering touch ups). They said I could send them a list of pictures and requested edits, but I was a bride-to-be planning my wedding. I didn't have time to make such an extensive list. Also, they advertise that you get a wedding coordinator. I'm sorry, but that was kind of a joke! I mapped out the day-of schedule in my very NOT user-friendly portal (and I'm pretty tech-savvy). At the end of the day, I ended up just provided my photographer my own schedule anyways. The "coordinator" and the portal ended up seeming pretty useless to me. At the end of the day, I loved Caity and her photography skills, so I would do it all over again in a heart beat!

ary photographer turned out great but it seems like the second photographer would’ve been better off using an iphone.. her pictures turned out horrible which is disappointing because we spent about 30-45 minutes away from our guests during the most fun time at our reception to be able to catch some nighttime shots with her which turned out horribly. I really enjoyed their portal which laid out when and where the photographers needed to be at all times however i would’ve liked some guidance on their end because it seems like we missed a lot of great photo opportunities because the photographer was so stressed out with timing so maybe had we had his input to begin with then we wouldn’t have had that issue. Lastly, i’m a little bit upset with the time it’s going to take to make the video. We were quoted 3-5 months which is hard when I’ve had other friends receive theirs in a matter of days or weeks with other vendors. Hopefully the quality of the video is great though and again, you get what you pay for so I suppose I can’t be too upset about that.

across George Street and I’m so glad I chose them! First, it was so helpful and such a relief that they had different pricing packages. I needed to go with a solo photographer and chose Laurie B. since I loved her example album. Crazy thing is, shortly after, a friend I work with knew her and said she was great! Small world. Fast forward, and Laurie really was the best! I really tried to make a great schedule through the George Street schedule software for the day of the wedding (which was helpful in thinking through photo plans I might have overlooked), but alas it went crazy off schedule due to super late hair and makeup, and I thought I was going to miss all these special photo ops I really wanted. However, she was sooo great that she actually got ALL of them in. She was a very quick but polite organizer to make sure it happened. She made sure we got what we wanted, even when I said it was ok if we couldn’t work it in. And now that we’ve gotten the pictures back, I love them. There are SO MANY more than I even expected and they look great. Exactly the look and feel I wanted. Currently, I don’t even know how to narrow it down for the wedding album we want to print. But that’s a good problem, right? I feel incredibly lucky to have had such a great photographer I could actually afford. It was a huge part in making the day great.

aurie’s photography style is great and she was the best part of using GS. GS basically contracts out local artists and my only regret is that we didn’t support local artists. We did pay quite a bit and had to pay a change of venue fee of 200$.

We also have the perfect opportunity to meet out photographer for engagment photos which will allow our photographer to get to know us and our styles. They did all the planning, even gave us suggestions for engagment photo locations. I am so excited and cant wait.

s we hadn’t seen Carlo’s work before and pretty much had my heart set on the first photographer, but Carlo sure did not disappoint. The photos he took of us came out absolutely stunning, at times even surreal. Communication was also excellent and the poses he had us do were fun and unique. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend George Street to anyone in need of a wedding photographer.

never told by our wedding planning contact about photo permits. We reviewed our day of plan about a month out with the planning team and told them where we planned to take our photos (local park). It wasn't until we had the final call with our photographer the week of our wedding that she mentioned we'd need a permit. It was too late to apply for one so we had to change around our plans for the day, causing issues for transportation, timing, and the look of our photos. The planning team needs to be more informed about permit requirements and tell couples early on.

During the wedding, the photographer captured all of the moments that we wanted and more. Everything turned out really well, and we couldn't have worked with a better vendor!

being a photographer myself. As I started to read reviews, my thoughts became negative towards George Street. I stressed for almost a year on my choice. The week of my wedding, I spoke with Shannon the Photographer. She is seriously the sweetest lady. She calmed down my nerves and negative thoughts toward GSP. The day before the wedding rain was in the forecast. I kept in touch with Shannon on a plan B to have photos at the Hotel instead of the actual Venue since it was outside. The day of the wedding we decided to do the photos at the hotel. She came up with a new timeline and sent it to me. She met every single expectation, I had. She was kind, generous and made sure I was comfortable and everyone else was! I got a sneak peak of the photos and I am so happy I went with Shannon and George Street!

us feel so comfortable and relaxed for both our engagement and wedding. She took so many beautiful candid photographs and gave direction to make our pictures look both beautiful and natural. She was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend her.

ith regards to video. We did our engagement photo shoot in Boston with Jessica, who was an absolute delight to work with. She also did photos for our wedding, along with Sergio. They were both amazing, and the photos came out great. We loved them. With video, due to religious/cultural preferences, we asked for a female videographer. However, we were first assigned a male (I found out by accident actually). At first they didn't budge about changing the videographer, and when they did find a female, they wanted to charge me a travel fee for her. At this point, it wasn't about the money - it was about the principle. As your customer, you should have figured things out on your end without getting me involved. Eventually, they gave in and took care of the travel fee. The day of the wedding - all goes well with video. Kendra was so sweet and managed to catch all the important footage of the evening. However, before the videos went for editing, I made some requests from the editors for things not to include in the highlight video. They've sent it to me twice, not taking into account those requests both times. It's now been 7 months since our wedding, and I still have not gotten that video. I'm pretty tired of waiting at this point, and just hope that someday they'll remember to send the corrected video to me.

The hardest part was picking the photographer! Brian was positive, energetic, and funny. We made an album of our favorite moments.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about him. He was professional, courteous, on time, but most importantly he was so accommodating! Every idea that popped into my head for a picture, he ran with. Everyone loved him. He took the most beautiful pictures and never said no to any of my wacky ideas. I am so grateful to them and so happy that I chose them for my big day!!

George street was quick to get us photos sending us a sneak peek within days and all of our photos within two weeks! Our videographer was also great, and was there for every shot. A videographer will be given to you at random about a month before the wedding. They'll jokingly ask your opinion on specific shots you would like during the wedding. I say jokingly because they may or may not get the shots you asked for. I wanted a shot of my husband's face when he saw me coming down the aisle. We had TWO photographers and neither of them got that shot. This is only one of the few requests I made that was disregarded. I'm not even sure why we had a second photographer other than to have her photo bomb what would have been decent pictures. I gave specifics on family dynamics that should be avoided, this too was disregarded leading to awkward, avoidable situations. The pictures you do receive will be unedited and untouched up, basic things like cropping out the 2nd photographer. When we raised our concerns we were only given 50 free edits and an album of random pics that they deemed too dark/overexposed, and honestly you can never get the moments back to capture them at that point. We were told that we would be able to review the footage and make edits to the music in the video before it would be finalized. NOPE! One day we received an email saying our package was on the way and a video was shipped to us. The music skips in the video, transitions are awkward, etc. I cant wait to see how the album turns out... AVOID GEORGE STREET AT ALL COSTS!
