DO NOT TRUST GENERATION TUX WITH YOUR WEDDING. Absolutely appalling customer service.
I placed my reservation on October 1 for my niece’s October 17 wedding, which I am OFFICIA...TING. I leave town October 15.
Today is October 12. FIVE DAYS before the wedding, and I STILL have no shipping confirmation, no tracking information, and no idea whether I’ll have anything to wear.
Generation Tux did manage to send a generic email explaining that it’s “peak wedding season,” that orders are arriving seven days before events, and essentially telling customers not to worry.
Apparently, wedding season is an unexpected phenomenon for a company whose ENTIRE BUSINESS revolves around weddings. Who could have possibly anticipated this?
After waiting TWO DAYS for a callback, I finally spoke with a representative Saturday. I was assured my order was being tagged and would ship that day, or Sunday if necessary.
Saturday came and went. Nothing.
Sunday came and went. Nothing.
Now it’s Monday. STILL NOTHING. No shipping notification, no tracking, no follow-up call. Just empty promises and complete silence.
But here’s the most outrageous part: THEY WOULDN’T EVEN AGREE TO CANCEL MY RENTAL AND REFUND MY MONEY so I could make alternative arrangements.
Think about that. They cannot provide reliable shipping information, have failed to follow through on their assurances, and have left me THREE DAYS from departure without knowing whether I’ll have clothing for a wedding I’m OFFICIATING. Yet they expect to keep my money while I shoulder all the financial risk, stress, and inconvenience.
No discount. No goodwill gesture. No compensation. Not even the courtesy of a follow-up call.
And even if the suit miraculously arrives, what happens if it doesn’t fit? When exactly am I supposed to arrange alterations, replacement sizes, or missing pieces?
THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT YOUR COMPANY IS SUPPOSED TO SPECIALIZE IN.
Weddings cannot simply be rescheduled because Generation Tux can’t get its act together.
I’ve received better communication and accountability over delayed takeout orders. The level of indifference this company has demonstrated is staggering.
I shouldn’t have to chase down a company, beg for basic information, or scramble to purchase replacement formalwear because they cannot deliver the service I’m PAYING for.
Generation Tux has managed to turn renting a suit into one of the most stressful parts of preparing for my niece’s wedding.
If you value your time, money, or peace of mind, STAY AWAY. Their promises mean nothing, their communication is abysmal, and their refusal to accommodate a customer they’ve left stranded is indefensible.
Reservation #2343698 — in case someone at Generation Tux finally decides accountability matters.
