Before starting this, I have to say our wedding in January was an absolute 10/10- truly the best night of my life. A big part of that was this venue, which made it so easy for us a...
nd our 165 guests to have an unforgettable evening. That said, I want to share an honest review for the brides doing venue research (like I was a year ago) so you can make the best decision- one we all know is an expensive one!
TLDR: Would I book this venue again? Yes, in a heartbeat. Would I work with GEM’s wedding planning team again? Absolutely not.
My full review:
The venue is dreamy- think upscale estate/house party vibes. The yard is gorgeous, the front of the mansion was a perfect ceremony backdrop, and the round table seating around the pool was so romantic. If I could do it again, I’d book the cheapest package that reserves the venue and includes food, drinks, staff, and furniture- skip the packages with the “designated wedding planner” and save yourself thousands.
If you’re an anxious bride (guilty!) or want the ease of a planner, I’d suggest hiring your own wedding planner to work with the GEM team. I say this because communication was rough- days or weeks could go by without responses to texts, calls, or emails. We paid an extra $6k for the wedding planning team, so this lack of responsiveness wasn’t at all what I expected, especially since our other vendors were SUPER responsive.
I used GEM’s preferred vendor list (so helpful!) but coordinated everything myself. I was told someone from GEM’s team would attend vendor meetings/calls- they didn’t. Not for cake tasting, DJ, officiant, photographer, or dress fittings. It wouldn’t have bothered me if I hadn’t been told otherwise. GEM did create our day-of timeline and hosted an in-person meeting for food tasting and table settings, which was helpful.
Again, our wedding turned out to be a dream. My husband and our family helped a lot day-of, which was necessary since we DIY’d our floral centerpieces and table deco. I truly don’t think things would have been set up in time without our family and bridesmaids last minute jumping in to help GEM staff.
Melissa was a solid day-of coordinator- she helped with vendor setup, steamed my veil, and helped me into my reception dress. We had a few hiccups wedding day (expected!) but worth mentioning:
1) The mansion’s main bathroom was locked all night. We were already anxious about limited restrooms and thank god we brought in a portable restroom trailer- we needed it.
2) The mansion owners were inside the home during our wedding. Weird and unexpected. They were seen several times peeking through the windows into our reception and before I walked down the aisle, one of them loudly told me I wasn’t “allowed” on a certain side of the house (even though the planner led us that way). Strange... but harmless.
3) My husband & I weren’t served dinner until most guests had finished. Annoying, but we saw everyone at our welcome party the night before, so not getting to mingle after our meal wasn't as big of deal. Food was great!
4) It took 7 weeks to get our deposit back (contract said 2–3 days). GEM had fraud issues. Not a huge deal, but be aware.
None of this ruined the day- it was beautiful, and I’m forever grateful to our family and friends. I replay it all the time- I know it's cliche but it was truly the best night of my life.
I know this was long, but I hope it helps anyone starting the planning process- especially since reviews for this venue are rare!
Review of Melissa, Luigy, & the rest of GEM team - Our Phenomenal Wedding Planner and Coordinator:
From the moment we met Melissa and Luigy, we knew they were the perfect team to...
help us bring our wedding vision to life. Their professionalism, expertise, and genuine enthusiasm for their work were evident from the start. Not only were their prices fair for the wedding market, but the value they provided far exceeded our expectations.
Melissa and Luigy were with us every step of the way, offering guidance, support, and creative ideas to make our wedding day truly special. Their attention to detail ensured that every aspect of our wedding was meticulously planned and executed flawlessly.
On the day of the wedding, Melissa, Luigy, and the rest of the team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that everything ran smoothly. If there were any hiccups or issues, they handled them with grace and efficiency, leaving us completely unaware. Their seamless coordination allowed us to relax and fully enjoy our special day without a worry in the world.
We are incredibly grateful for everything Melissa and Luigy did for us leading up to and on the day of our wedding. Their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering support made all the difference. We cannot thank them enough and highly recommend their services to anyone in need of a wedding planner and coordinator. They truly are the best in the business!
To the best team, to the GEM! Honestly, I can't thank you guys enough for everything you did at our wedding. Our day was special and a big part of that was because we chose an amaz...
ing team of dedicated and professional people that just made sure that we didn't miss a single thing, that all the details were covered... Me, Brian and our entire family still talk about how amazing you guys were, the quality of the food, and your attention to every single detail. We were in an awe the entire time, seeing you work so hard to make things work, until the very end of the night, and we are so thankful for that, for all of you.
To the couples considering GEM Mansion: You won't regret hiring Melissa and GEM Mansion. In fact, that would be your best decision ever! The venue is just gorgeous, we had 110 guests and we had plenty of space! The venue is big! The gardens are beautiful and you have 3 areas to choose for your ceremony! Quality of the food.. 10/10! The open bar, and bartenders, amazing, and Melissa and Luigy... they are great people that make everything so easy! I did not hire an event planner, we didn't need one because Gem Mansion offers a day of coordinator, but... don't let the "day-of coordinator" fool you, they really start working with you since the very beginning, helping you plan your dream wedding since the day you hire them.
HIRE GEM MANSION!!!!! You'll thank me later ;)
AWESOME TEAM AND SERVICE!!! 10/10
To the team at "Gem Weddings and Events" THANK YOU!
My day was even more special than I could've imagined. Great service, assistance, and presentation. Everything was so perfect!
My Wife and I were very pleased with our experience and the service was great. We had our wedding in the evening and the property was beautifully lit.

elp us get the services we want, and thank God for it. My husband and I stressed over venues for a very long time - places were pricey yet did not offer many services that we desired. We stumbled upon the main image of GEM Mansion and expected to be paying a fortune for their service, yet we said "Why not?" and messaged them. It turned out to be the best leap of faith we could have taken. Once we booked, the stress ended and we just couldn't wait until September 28th, 2019 to arrive! From one bride to another, it was MAGICAL! Months later and being quarantined together, we are still happily together. We look through our pictures and still can't believe it happened. Their service was outstanding. They were very attentive to my parents and grandparents which meant a lot to me, and left me stress free on my day. Melissa (the wedding planner) took care of everything and assisted in making sure my ceremony and reception was a delight. To all future brides and grooms, it is no wonder that all the reviews are positive! To Melissa and her team , thank you for an incredible service and an unforgettable experience.

Hi, my name is Mercy. My husband and I hosted our daughter's wedding at Gem mansion in March and would like to recommend this venue because everything was exactly as we wanted for ...
our little girl. The venue was beautiful, the ceremony was romantic and gorgeous, we didn't need to do much decorating because there is already so much landscaping. The reception was special, filled with friends and loved ones. The food was sincerely gourmet and exquisite. Every part of that day was wonderful. We enjoyed ourselves. We have nothing but good things to say. Nothing to complain about. Melissa was an absolute doll. I am truly amazed by how much this young lady can do. I will never forget how in less that 5 minutes she stitched my other daughter's dress. Immediately after helped my daughter the bride get into her wedding gown, helped her apply her lipstick and helped me strap my shoes. Wonderful service from start to finish.
My unbelievably gorgeous wedding was this year in May. It was the perfect day, with perfect weather, my perfect, handsome fiance, and not exaggerating - the most beautiful venue, w...
ith the sweetest, most accommodating wedding planner. I'll admit that at first I was a bit concerned about the pricing but after shopping around, doing some due diligence, getting quotes, visiting other venues, and putting everything together I realized I got more bang for my buck with GEM. Truth be told, most venues don't include a wedding planner, nor do they customize packages or services for you. Most places are black and white but we found that here we were able to create our own package however we needed. We had 250 guests, all left extremely happy, talking about how amazing everything was. Now my maid of honor is getting married at this same venue in 2021 and honestly I'm not even mad lol. I recommend this venue 100%. You won't regret it :)
I was lucky enough to book GEM MANSION for my wedding this April. My husband & I had such a pleasant time, we truly enjoyed ourselves planning our wedding and on the day of. We did...
n't feel the stress of planning a wedding and on the wedding day, although it went by very fast, we had a blast. I really recommend this venue. Our wedding planner was amazing and everyone we worked with was great. Food was delicious, staff was on point, we danced so much, and really enjoyed our open bar.
My now husband and I knew this would be our venue from the moment we saw it. My experience at GEM Mansion was definitely a surpassed expectation. We had a beautiful wedding, delici...
ous, delicious! food, we danced till we couldn't anymore. We were having so much fun with our guests that we extended our time and ended up leaving 2 hours later than we had planned. We have great memories of our wedding day and highly recommend this venue. Melissa was incredible throughout the planning process, and on the day of she went above and beyond for us and our guests. Staff was great, very professional, very sharp with their service. I am grateful for this wedding experience that was provided to us. Absolutely worth every dollar!
Before we found GEM, we were looking everywhere that’ll fit our budget and our faith was wearing out fast. When we found them, it was 100% an answered prayer. From beginning to end...
and everything in between, they took care of us, they went above and beyond! One of the things we really liked was the suggestions, they were straight forward, didn’t push anything and made us feel as comfortable as possible with this whole process. It can be stressful but they made it so easy and stress free! They made sure we were taking care of the things we needed on our side and always making sure that we were good. They went from our wedding planners to being great friends, that’s how amazing they are. Looking forward to planning our baby shower in the future with them! Thank you again, God Bless you!!
Hi! My name is Jenny, I got married at GEM Mansion in April 2017. I had an amazing, beautiful wedding day and experience. It definitely surpassed my expectations. I recommend this ...
venue because of the flexibility in space it offers as well as the flexibility in services. The packages are very client friendly and my husband and I were able to play with the services we wanted and didn't need. It was so easy to plan and with Melissa, we had such a great time planning. Melissa was friendly and such a sweetheart. She really made this an experience to remember. We would definitely do it again! It was the perfect wedding day!

ything! From a former bride to the next bride reading this do yourself a favor and save yourself AND your pocket the stress. I recommend booking this venue with the all inclusive option. You'll save a significant amount of money and time, trust me! We loved every service provided by GEM and even the hired vendors were amazing! This is a big YES!
We hired GEM Weddings & Events for our company holiday party this past December. We hosted about 250 employees at GEM Mansion. The attention we received from start to finish was be...
yond what we expected. Melissa was extremely kind, gentle, attentive to our needs and our vision for this corporate event. We had a few requests we didn't think would be possible but Melissa and her team made it happen. Melissa is a sweetheart, to say the least. She made us feel at peace and for once, at a corporate event, we actually enjoyed ourselves. Rather than running around, making sure things were getting done, we realized we could entrust GEM to take care of everything. If I had to sum it up "ease of mind" is what I would say. Probably one of the best holiday parties we've had.
Our wedding was in 2017 but Melissa and I have kept in touch because we developed a friendship throughout our planning process. What can I say about GEM & about Melissa!!! First, M...
elissa herself is a gem! Second, her staff is amazing, detailed, professional - top notch! Third, GEM Mansion is such a gorgeous property! It's as spectacular at night as it is during the day. We had a beautiful, memorable wedding. We still talk about it till this day! We would do it all again. We loved our wedding with GEM & at this amazing property.
One of the first things Melissa, from Gem told us was that her and her team looked forward to providing us with the "Gem Experience". We had no idea what that meant but once we sta...
rted planning we realized their service really sets them apart. Our wedding day at Gem Mansion was so special. It was so unique. Melissa would stop us and remind us to take it all in throughout our wedding day. The food was excellent, the staff was professional and attentive. We had a great time! We highly recommend Gem Weddings & Events, Gem Mansion and by far Melissa.
