Unique Historic Venue in the Heart of Philadelphia
Founder's Hall at Girard College, located in Philadelphia, PA, is a venue for weddings and special events. Steeped in history, it offers a unique setting for your special day.
Girard College was established in 1848 and named after French immigrant Stephen Girard, the wealthiest man in America at the time of his death years earlier. After making the largest private donation of the time, he instructed the city of Philadelphia to build a school for poor, orphaned boys to learn a trade. As a result, this 43-acre enclosed campus, which is a true Philadelphia landmark, was founded.
Girard College proposes the neoclassical building and chapel for your wedding day at Founder's Hall. The venue mixes history with modern amenities to create a unique atmosphere and setting for your celebration. Surrounded by serene, expansive green grounds and historically significant architecture, your wedding will be a unique experience at Founder's Hall. The site is available for smaller, intimate weddings or festivities with more extensive guest lists.
The location is minutes from downtown Philadelphia, near attractions such as The Met Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Rodin Museum. Traveling to the campus is easy, either by car or public transportation, making it accessible to out-of-town and local guests and loved ones. The College also offers parking options, including valet parking, and security is on campus 24/7 to ensure the safety of visitors.
Contact Founder's Hall at Girard College to plan a truly one-of-a-kind wedding celebration. The exceptional location radiates with history and charm that you and your loved ones will never forget.

There was a plethora of information about Girard, how he acquired his wealth and the school's history. The museum curator was very knowledgeable and excited to share her vast knowledge..

Went there on a weekday for a hands on history tour. Beautiful building. Easily accessible from the bus route. It is required to check in with the guards at the entrance which was quick and friendly. The museum is on the second floor. (There ap...
pears to be and elevator but I did not use it) The tour was very well done and our guide Kathy was very knowledgeable. The presentation was a good mix of history and details of antique furniture and household items. Good spot for history buffs and antique enthusiasts. They do rent the venue for events so it's probably good to check ahead of time if the museum is open.

Toured Founders Hall, the gym, the Chapel, and museum. Learned quite a lot about Steven Girard and the school's history. Got to sample the "famous" Girard Gingers!
