Photography is such an important piece of the wedding, being that it's one of the only physical memories after your special day. Working with Fitz was absolutely wonderful. Fitz wa...
s communicative, helpful, and his creative vision was just what we wanted. Fitz suggested ideas out of the wedding norm, and they all gave great photos. From our engagement session to day of wedding, Fitz was awesome to work with. He always made us feel comfortable and provided great feedback on poses/being natural. We could not wait to get our wedding photos, and it was so worth it. The photos are beyond amazing and better than we could have even imagined. We would recommend Fitz to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. Thank you so much, Fitz, it was a pleasure!
Fitz is absolutely incredible. We reached out when we saw his style on his website and got that and so much more. Fitz shot both our engagement shoot and wedding at the LA Athletic...
Club and we can't imagine anyone else who could have delivered such fantastic shots.
He would look at every shot and know instantly what to do, whether moving us a little, making us laugh, or just being fun. Everyone at the wedding had nothing but great things to say about Fitz and his assistant.
If you want your photos to really tell a story of your wedding, we can't recommend Fitz enough.
Fitz's photos are extraordinary. He has such a unique, cinematic eye. He did our engagement and wedding photos and each shot has its own artistic look and feel without compromising...
the intent. He gave us what we hoped for, and then elevated it. He also made sure to keep the mood light and fun with the portrait family, wedding party photos. And the candid ones are a delight to see. Everyone that has sees them can't stop raving about them. We cannot recommend him enough.
Fitz is a one-of-a-kind photographer - he's not your average blown out background photographer, he's not a yeller nor a control freak, but he's a collaborator and an artist when it...
comes to his photography. We hired Fitz through a recommendation and he met us and explained his style and his process. He patiently waited for the world to open back up as we powered through a 2 year hiatus due to COVID pandemic, and he delivered exactly how we anticipated and the results are marvelous. Fitz is patient with the guests, composes everyone properly even if it's a group shot. During the wedding day you won't even notice he's there! The results we got were just fantastic and all the guests had something to walk away with at the end of the day for their social media. Can't recommend enough - not only he's good at his crafts he's a genuine human being.
Fitz has such a great way about him. In a very hectic and high anxiety environment, he was calm and nice and never seemed to have a feather ruffled. Trust him. He has a great eye. ...
As a groom, the photos/photographer aren’t always a priority, and they weren’t for me either, but boy am I blown away by the finished product. And last, even my early 20’s sons, who were involved in the wedding party, commented on how great Fitz was.
Fitz and crew were amazing. I knew they would be based on photos from his website and social channels. I was going for art and I received art. The way he uses light…just totally bl...

d to book him. Thankfully he was available! Fitz and his team were thoughtful in helping us create ideas for our engagement shoot. The photos look like an editorial! For the wedding, Fitz captured every moment. Each time we look back at the photos it is like reliving our special day all over again. Fitz Carlile Photography is professional, supportive, creative, and everything else you would want in a photographer.
Where to even begin? I was so happy I stumbled across Fitz's instagram on my hunt for a wedding photographer! I was looking for someone who's work was more "art" and less obvious i...
t was wedding photography (like that washed out, light, airy colors that every one seems to be doing these days - nothing wrong with it, just not my style), and boy did Fitz deliver. We LOVE both our engagement photos and our wedding photos, and on top of it, Fitz was awesome to work with. My husband HATES being in front of a camera and HATES pictures of himself, but he felt so comfortable and the shots show it. We opted not to hire a videographer for the day, and with Fitz's amazing work, I don't even feel like we needed it. Every shot showcased the day, the energy, and the emotion of the day. THANKS FITZ!! Highly recommend :)

rd and excited for our crazy plan. He was extremely quick to respond, and offered a lot of helpful info and advice as we finalized the details. He helped us feel relaxed and confident that our day would be exactly what we wanted.
Even at 6am in the morning when he called to tell us that the road to our ceremony location was shut down, he was still confident and relaxed. Fitz took it upon himself to scout an alternative location, and he ended up finding the perfect spot.
Fitz really knows what he is doing. He captured every moment and got a ton of interesting angles that conveyed the emotion and vibe of the day. We had a lot of fun with him - he was extremely personable and seemed to really enjoy the day with us, which we appreciated greatly. We absolutely love our photos and would highly recommend Fitz to anyone for any occasion.
Fitz is amazing to work with! He totally knows how to bring out the best in us for our loving pictures. I loved are engagement photos.
Love working with Fitz! The Engagement photo shoot was so much fun! And our pictures came out amazing! It’s like every picture is telling a love story ❤️

bly kind, patient, thoughtful, funny, easy to work with, detailed orientated, calm, organized, and lighthearted, he is also incredibly visually talented. He has vision to find the special moments, and capture the intimate details for you to have forever. Fitz spends time getting to know you are a couple and invests in making sure he understands your must have shots, while also adding his own artistic creativity, using light, color, and perspective to truly make once in a lifetime photos. Fitz's team of photographers, that supported him on our wedding day, were also absolutely wonderful! They were so skilled at creating a complete visual story of our wedding, and also helping us to see moments we would have otherwise missed without their talent! Fitz creates dynamic photos that don't just capture an image, but an emotion. He has a way of bringing to life the actual feel of the day or special event. Fitz also helped us with a photo booth for the day of our wedding, and was kind enough to print extra copies so we could have the fun memories of all of our guests from the day as well. My husband and I would recommend Fitz Carlile Photography to anyone. He will go out of his way to ensure your photos are beautiful, magical, full of heart, and stunningly unique to you and your special day. He truly is one of a kind, and not just a photographer, but an artist!
I cannot express how happy I am that we hired Fitz for both our engagement and wedding photos. We discovered his work on the Knot, and immediately fell in love with his work. He...
has a unique and modern approach to photography that is very much his own, while at the same time tailoring his approach to beautifully capture the story and style each couple that he works with. He perfectly captured multiple days of events for us (engagement shots, a private ceremony, and wedding day), without missing a beat on the most memorable moments as well as the subtle details. He is also a ton of fun, hilarious, organized, professional, has a rock solid crew (the other photographer on the wedding day was amazingly talented with consistent style) and a downright solid guy with a lovely family. I can't recommend Fitz enough!
Fitz Carlile is a master of light, and can make virtually any setting look like the most romantic place in the world. He immediately puts you at ease. We had to scrap our original ...
wedding plans due to COVID-19, but Fitz remained a willing and enthusiastic participant through it all. Our recommendation to couples trying to plan weddings in this crazy time we've all found ourselves in? Go small. Don't cancel. And your photographer should be your number 1 priority. Photographs are the only concrete thing you'll own to remember your special day, and you will not be disappointed with Fitz. He's a true storyteller and his photos are magic.
One of the most professional and amazing photographers I've ever met. Courteous and amazing shots that I will cherish forever.

so professional. We decided to do engagement photos and our wedding photos with him and I couldn't be happier. You get sneak peeks so quickly and his work his pure art. He's got the most amazing eye for light and makes you so comfortable you don't even know he's around taking pictures of you. If you're on the fence about it pay the extra money because the photos are priceless memories captured and you won't regret going with Fitz. I'm dying to see the rest of our wedding pictures and I know I won't be disappointed... pick Fitz as your photographer!!

hich result in beautiful editorial photos — we chose Fitz for this reason. We were so happy with our photos and he strives to make couples look and feel good which definitely shows in the finished images. We can’t wait for him to shoot us for our wedding day.
Fitz is speedy with communication, open to different ideas for engagement shoot locations, and his photos are STUNNING! It’s all about quality with Fitz. It is clear that he spends...
a lot of time editing photos to make the color, brightness, angles and everything to perfection. His photos are dramatic and one of a kind. He is different from the typical wedding photographers in that he has a special eye. Highly recommend!
Let me start by saying I am VERY PARTICULAR when it comes to photographers. As someone who shot film and digital for many years, I often looked at people's wedding photos and thou...
ght that there wasn't anything special about them. No story, no soul. When I first saw Fitz's work online, I knew that that THIS was the photographer my (then) fiance and I needed to have. Meeting in person, he was relaxed and professional.
We used him and his team for our engagement photos, wedding photos and photobooth.
My husband and I were very impressed with everything. The engagement photos are great - he also was able to offer outfit/color advice based on our location - very helpful!
The photo booth at the reception was also a hit!
Let's talk about the most important part - the wedding photos! They are STUNNING. They arrived on time and so did the sneak peek! I'm obsessed with his images of that day- my only wish is that I have more of them! (as a note, it doesn't matter how many photos I have, I always want more!). They tell a story, show emotion and are edited well. Everyone who sees them says the same thing - "they look like they are out of a magazine!" My "new" tradition is sharing 2 on social every Sunday and even after almost 5 months - I still have way more to go! :)
I wouldn't hesitate a moment in recommending Fitz and his team a thousand times over. Your special day cannot and should not be trusted to anyone else!

t. The pictures he captured tell a story of the day in a way that we did not see in anybody else's work.
Fitz was great through and through. From the beginning with the inquiries, he was super responsive, professional, and clearly had personality. We found Fitz on Google and we were e...
nthralled by the wedding photos on his website. They didn't look like your typical over exposed wedding photos. They were dramatic. They captured real moments. His use of lighting and his color profiles spoke volumes to us so we decided to reach out. Not long after, we booked him as well as his second shooter and they did not disappoint. Fitz was super responsive with all our questions and requests. AND he was on time the day of the wedding. There is no lag with Fitz. When he was shooting during the ceremony, we could hardly notice him and when it came time for formals, he works quickly and has a strong artistic vision. We don't feel like we know what we're doing when it comes to posing for photos but Fitz coaches really well and builds rapport while doing so. A few days after the wedding, we received several photos to sneak a peak and we were blown away. Some of the people that we showed the photos to asked for links to Fitz's website. We couldn't wait to see the rest. When we received and reviewed the full collection, we felt like we were able to relive the day again through the lens of a dramatic photo journalist. We are grateful to have had Fitz shoot our wedding. He is an extremely talented man and we wouldn't change our decision if we were to do it all over again.
It was an honor to have Fitz as the photographer for our wedding back in July. His professionalism and expertise were unparalleled. I was a little apprehensive about the idea of a ...
professional photographer for our wedding day as I'm naturally not particularly comfortable in front of a camera, however this was certainly not the case with Fitz. From the moment he came to meet the bridal party getting ready it was like being reunited with a warm friend. He was non-invasive yet caught breathtaking pictures of every moment. When we received the catalogue of photographs my husband and I were truly overwhelmed with the beauty of each image. Fitz captured a series of photographs that really told the story of the day. I now truly realize the importance of investing in a photographer for your wedding day.
Fitz was fantastic all around. He went out of his way to accommodate our style and work within our schedule. And of course the pictures are all amazing. Just a great experience all...

First off, I must indicate that both my wife and I are photographers as well. So I think our perspective is a little different than your average couple, and perhaps our decision to...
go with Fitz a more critical one. Having done a few weddings ourselves, and knowing what is involved, we knew from the first phone call (aside from his beautiful work) that Fitz was the right artist for our wedding. Fitz has a relaxed demeanor and friendly personality. He doesn’t require, nor gives, difficult direction and he’s able to create beautiful images quickly and effortlessly. I can tell that his fundamentals allow him to create unique images as well, which is a sign of an artist that is true to his craft. We specifically chose his style of cinematic photography because we wanted something different than what’s typical.
More than likely you are reading this review because you are looking at a few photographers to shoot your wedding. Do yourself a favor and book Fitz, he’s easy to get along with, and he’ll make the photography part effortless.
In conclusion, we are very happy with our photos, and we will cherish them forever. After all, the only thing you will have left of that special day are the memories. Make sure you capture them well ;)
Fitz photographed our wedding in Palm Springs in May and we couldn’t be happier with the end result! Being an Art Director for one of the biggest agencies in the world, I’ve grown ...
accustomed to working with some of the best photographers and I’m able to recognize talent very easily. When we found Fitz’s work online and had a phone call with him, we knew he was the perfect fit for what we wanted.
His attention to detail is insane and his storytelling skills made our day truly magical. The cinematic feel that we were looking for is where Fitz’s work really shines. He is a master of light and shadow and is always in the right place at the right time. He was also great at leading his team and working with our videographers to ensure a consistent vision throughout the entire day. We can’t praise his work enough, it really made our wedding day unforgettable and full of emotion, as well, as super fun!

nowledge shine through his work. He made the process of deciding on a photographer and a style of photography very simple. Planning your BIG day is a huge undertaking so you'll need and want the right people who have the experience to help you with it. Fitz was that person. Our wedding day was a bit of a production, as most are and Fitz guided guests to every new experience we planned throughout the evening. Fitz captured our most special moments in such a beautiful, creative, and eclectic style utilizing a mixture of photo journalistic documentary work and portraiture.
We absolutely LOVE our wedding photos. Fitz, you captured our special day in a way we never thought possible and are grateful for the time you spent with us.

her, but after seeing his work - his candid shots, his use of lighting, and other reviews, it was clear Fitz was the photographer we wanted to move forward with. He arranged a call with us and we really appreciated how transparent he was with expectations (he takes 50-60 GREAT and purposeful photos an hour, not 100+ photos an hour), price (cost for him and 2nd photographer plus help planning a tentative schedule for the day), and helped us think of questions we hadn’t thought about before. He also met us in person before the wedding so we could iron out any concerns, he could get a pulse on who we are and what we’re all about to help get a sense of what kinds of pictures we’d take the day of.
He was prompt and worked incredibly well with other vendors and our entire wedding party. We honestly never saw him throughout the entire wedding and reception but when we saw the pictures, we were so excited with what he captured! The best part is just a few days later, he had several “preview” pictures he sent over for us!
Fitz was a great choice for us and we’d recommend him hands-down to any couple looking for a personalized experience with a professional memory- maker!
Fitz and his team are true professionals. We were very nervous about having a feeling of posed photography that feels “samesy”, while also just felt nervous about being in front of...
a camera. Fitz puts you at ease from the first meeting and makes being in front of a camera the most normal of experiences. It truly felt like hanging out with a good friend and on top of that you end up with photos like no other. His use of lighting and color create moments that pop off the page and captured moments like a true photojournalist. Looking for moments naturally much more than forcing uncomfortable poses. I cant imagine my wedding experience with Fitz and his team. They are so wonderful!
Fitz is an artist. If you go with him as your wedding photographer, not only will you get the stunning photos of your dreams (ceremony, families, bridesmaids, reception), you will ...
also get a number of other creative photos that are more amazing than you could have imagined.
Some felt formal, some felt artsy, some felt casual, some felt romantic: but every single photo that Fitz took was amazing, and made our special day that much more special. Fitz has the eye of a true artist.
On top of the quality of his work, Fitz is a consummate professional. He takes his work very seriously, and from the very first consultation with him, we knew that we were in good hands. He is adept as understanding the size and scope of your wedding, hearing what you want in terms of approach and style, and delivering everything in a prompt and precise manner. Expect continued communication and a clear timeline: Fitz delivers.
In short, it is hard to imagine a better wedding photographer than Fitz Carlile. The man is a master of his craft, and and couple would be lucky to have him capture memories that will last forever.
Fitz is like Wedding photojournalist in our view. Besides excellent photographer he is also very friendly.
Thank you for our 04/23/19 Wedding photos..

getting ready. He suggested an off site location for our first look and then very quickly found a desert background to take family photos at, which really added to the variety in our pictures. We really appreciated his professionalism and creativity throughout the day. He caught all the best moments and emotions without ever being in the way and worked very quickly to get all the most important shots. He really captured the love we felt so strongly at our wedding. We had so many guests comment on how great our photographer was at the wedding, and certainly once seeing some of our photographs since the wedding. We would chose Fitz again in a heartbeat!
Great photographers!!! Used them for canvases and save the dates, beautiful!

ar behind the mountain, especially in December. Actually, you don't realize how fast time slips by for the entire day of the wedding until it starts happening. Fitz knows how to anticipate a moment and seems so relaxed while a million things are happening. Even though he works fast, he does not compromise spontaneous creative decisions. I wanted to go with Fitz based on his portfolio alone- embracing dark tones, using color well, but he has a fun sense of humor that I don't think you'll find with every shooter. I was nervous as hell the day of the wedding, but the photos didn't show much of it at all. I never want to get married again, but a part of me wants to relive the fun moments of first look, cocktail hour, and our entrance. Luckily, our photos are stellar and really tell our story well. We're super happy we went with Fitz, he's a smart choice.

is esthetics, attention to detail and excellent technical skills. He did such magnificent work that they were published in a magazine. Ever since then he has grown to become one of the best wedding photographers in LA. It was my turn to get married last weekend, and honored to have him shoot our Malibu beach wedding. Fitz captured everything beautifully. He was in constant motion to find all of the right angles and different lighting. The colors were soft and flattering, the compositions were balanced and dynamic. Everything was recorded from our special day, from tears to laughter, putting on my shoes to walking to my car, the cake, the moon, the beach, the wedding party from close and from far... everything and beyond. I'm ecstatic that this day turned out perfectly and the pictures are proof. I highly recommend Fitz!
Fitz was wonderful.

t Fitz immediately upon viewing his Knot profile; it was clear he wasn't afraid to use contrast and had a great, artistic sense of the different moods of a wedding. It was also evident that Fitz and his team had a great eye for capturing precious candid moments - which was a must for my wife and me. Fitz delivered an awesome album for both our engagement shoot and our wedding. It really made us feel like rockstars.
Personally, Fitz is a rock-solid, calming presence. He is sharp and methodical in his approach. Upon meeting him it was immediately obvious he had the experience to know what he was doing. In a process where there are so many potential things to worry about, we knew we would never have to worry about him.
We also worked with Fitz's colleague Will, who was similarly professional and capable with a clear vision for the photos he was taking. It's clear to us that Fitz picks his second shooters very carefully.
We cannot recommend these guys enough if you want a beautiful and stress-free wedding photography experience.

ly, we both never come out just right in a photograph, or only one of us does after 20 attempts. Sadly, our home has only one photo of us from a distance. From our engagement photos to our wedding photos, Fitz captured perfect backdrops, angles, and the right smiles. We are truly joyful that we picked the right photographer for our big day. We can finally print photos of us together and proudly display them in our home and office.

band and I don't think of ourselves as "naturally photogenic" in front of the camera, but Fitz was great with direction and making it all appear so effortless in the photographs. He has quite the eye for beautiful shots and catching moments in ways you wouldn't. We can't wait to get our wedding album! Highly recommended :)
I am having trouble putting in to words how grateful I am for Fitz and his day-of assistant, Seiichi. I chose Fitz for our wedding because his photos were cinematic yet editorial. ...
They seemed real and they conveyed so much emotion, while not appearing over edited or staged. On the day of, Fitz had been at our venue over an hour before I even arrived, scoping locations, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the garden. He was calm, easy going, and seemed to have the perfect balance of planned and off the cuff shoot ideas. His attitude was such that I understood how seriously he took his role there, but I was also very grateful for how relaxed he was, communicating his vision while encouraging my husband and myself to be ourselves and to enjoy the day rather than stress over it.
I can only describe Fitz and Seiichi as photographer ninjas. They were everywhere and nowhere all at once. Fitz is also a true artist. He doesn't have everything planned out, but has these moments of brilliance and you can tell he truly loves what he does. Many of our guests commented on how nice and fun Fitz and Seiichi were and how they seemed to be having a genuinely good time as they crafted artistic, meaningful, and fun shots. It was a magical day for us, and I cannot imagine it without Fitz. In the days following our wedding I've gotten a little nostalgic and kind of sad that it's over, but our photos brought me back to life. The day was a blur but we will have our photos forever and thanks to Fitz, the photos are STUNNING.

Fitz did not disappoint.

photos. Everything about our experience working with him was professional and personal. He helped us feel comfortable with our engagement shoot so it was no question but to hire him for our wedding this past August. Fitz and his team were very responsive, reliable, and consistent all around through our wedding planning and on the day of. He showed up with a positive, excited attitude and he nailed every moment throughout our wedding. My parents could not stop talking about how great he was. We didn't have to stand and take a million photos because Fitz just knows how to set up an amazing shot and is creative and thoughtful with doing so. I would say Fitz is worth every single penny and you'd probably regret it if you didn't reach out to work with him. Thank you Fitz and team for creating life long memories that Alex, our families, and I will forever cherish. You are so talented!
We hired Fitz to shoot our engagement photos while visiting LA
and we could not be happier with the results. Simply put, the photos took our breath away. My fiance and I used the ...
opportunity to shoot a beach session while we were in LA. We were visiting with our 7 month old son, who happened to be TEETHING pretty badly on the day of our shoot. Fitz was so great at directing us, that we completely got lost in the 2 or so hours we spent shooting and completely let loose and enjoyed the experience while a relative was driving around trying to find medicine for our son. Thats quite a talent. Fitz is excellent at what he does professionally, but an added bonus; he is also just a genuine and good guy. We hope to bring him to Mexico with us for our wedding!
