about three months before our wedding, after initially thinking I didn’t need a day-of coordinator. Pinterest apparently knew better than I did, because every “Things Brides Wish They Had Done Differently” list included “Hire a day-of coordinator.” THANK GOD I LISTENED. From my first interaction with Firmly Rooted Events, I was impressed. I immediately received confirmation emails, forms/questionnaires, and a one-hour Zoom meeting so they could get to know us and understand what we needed. After meeting with the owner, she matched us with Liz — and it could not have been a more perfect match. Liz introduced herself, scheduled a Zoom call with us, and from there she was OFF AND RUNNING. She asked questions about things we had never even thought about, contacted all our vendors and services, got everyone on the same page, created our timeline, attended our 30-day venue meeting, stayed involved in countless emails, and responded incredibly quickly and thoroughly. She immediately put my mind at ease. From the beginning, I told Liz my biggest request was simple: I wanted us and our guests to have a good time, and I did NOT want people coming up to me on our wedding day asking where to go, what to do, what was happening next, or how something should be handled. I wanted to be present at my own wedding. And that is EXACTLY what she gave me. Liz brought an assistant on the wedding day, and by the time I arrived, everything was already rolling. I didn’t have to oversee anything, manage anyone, or answer a million questions. I trusted the process — and was absolutely not disappointed. Liz and her assistant were my calming center for the ENTIRE day and night. They checked in just enough to make sure I didn’t need anything while taking EVERYTHING off my shoulders. Between guests, vendors and staff, they helped manage more than 200 people that day, and from my perspective, everything went off without a hitch. And if there WERE hitches? I never knew about them. They didn’t bring problems to me or give me a post-wedding rundown of what went wrong behind the scenes. They just handled it. Even our guests noticed and complimented how sweet, helpful and organized they were. One of my favorite examples: a couple attending had a young child at home with a sitter. The husband accidentally left his phone at home, then the wife’s phone died. Somehow, Liz appeared out of nowhere with a HANDFUL OF PHONE CHARGERS TO THE RESCUE. 😂 That sums up the entire experience — before you even realized there might be a problem, Liz was already there with a solution. If you’re debating whether you “really need” a day-of coordinator, YOU DO. And if you have the opportunity to work with Firmly Rooted Events and Liz, do it. Because of Liz and her assistant, I didn’t spend our wedding managing timelines, vendors, guests, questions or problems. I got to actually be there. I got to enjoy my husband, our family, our friends and the wedding we spent so much time planning. That is priceless. Best. Company. Ever. Zero regrets. From our initial call she asked excellent questions and made sure to capture what was important to me and husband vs what other people may want. She crafted an amazing timeline, lead our rehearsal, and ensured everyone felt comfortable with their duties for the day of. For the wedding day, Rachel & her entourage were nothing but professional. They set our smaller decor items up perfectly with little direction as I was overwhelmed. They kept everyone on time. Rachel also took photos & video (to my surprise as we did not have a videographer). This was very special to have and I was so grateful to receive after the wedding. She captured things I wasn't able to see on the wedding day that I had spent time planning ahead of time (table settings & flower arrangements, memory table, dessert table). I could not recommend FRE more. Start to finish they were organized, detailed, friendly, responsive, respectful, easy to work with. They truly made our wedding day memorable and run so smoothly!

While we used them for coordination services and not formal planning services, they provided resources to help us finish up our planning in the final months before the wedding. Tori was our lead coordinator and her and Rachel helped keep us on track when my wedding-addled bride brain was getting overwhelmed. When it came to timeline planning, they answered our questions, entertained our ideas, provided their own, and made us the perfect timeline for our day. Tori kept us all on track and task for our rehearsal. Tori and Rachel communicated so well with our other vendors that we didn’t even really realize it and didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our wedding ran very smoothly and I don’t think that would have happened without Firmly Rooted Events. The one issue we did have that day, Tori was able to jump on it immediately and get it sorted. The rest of the team that was there with us that night was also fantastic. They were all fun, engaged, and eagle eyed the whole night. We deeply enjoyed working with them all and if we had to do our wedding over again, we’d work with them again in a heartbeat. (Also, if you choose to follow them on social media, you’ll get to see pictures of the multiple corgis the team has so that’s a win in and of itself.)

She provided suggestions on vendors and answered any questions we had at any point in the process. A few weeks before our wedding, we had a call with Rachel to co-create an extremely detailed and thorough timeline for the day of the wedding. This timeline alone was well worth the cost of hiring Rachel/FRE! It wasn’t so much about following the timeline to the minute; simply having the timeline gave us so much peace of mind and allowed us to go into our wedding day knowing that we’d thought through all the important logistical/timing aspects and had a plan – a rock-solid one – for the day’s events. Come rehearsal and wedding day, Rachel and her team were on top of everything and helped put all the final pieces into place, working seamlessly with all of our other vendors. (Rachel, by the way, also contacted each of our vendors in the weeks leading up to the wedding and made sure they had copies of our timeline.) Rachel also provided a host of other resources that helped at various stages – a budget template, a tipping guide for vendors, suggestions for an emergency kit for any day-of issues, a last-minute checklist. On top of all this, Rachel is a joy to work with personally. She’s kind, patient, warm and smart and has great planning instincts. We truly cannot recommend Rachel enough. Hire her! You won’t be disappointed.
