Firehouse Chicago is truly the perfect wedding venue! Our guests could not stop raving about the space. It's the perfect amount of outdoor garden atmosphere, plus a cool, classic, slightly rustic vibe indoors. We included the extra rooms upstairs as well as space to get ready and spend our day and we're so glad we did! There are endless picture perfect locations on site to get a good variety of wedding day photos. And while the space is incredibly beautiful, the managers, Sarah and Teddy, also helped make our day perfect. They are very involved in your wedding planning process from the day you sign your contract. They provide vendor suggestions and are always available for questions about wedding planning and executing things at Firehouse. They helped keep us organized with a planning document and check-in calls throughout the year. They made sure no detail was forgotten. On the day of our wedding, we got assigned two opening coordinators and two closing coordinators. This is an incredible perk of Firehouse! We didn't feel the need to hire a day-of coordinator. All of our coordinators were incredible! Another huge part of what made Firehouse Chicago so wonderful was their team. A huge shoutout to Teddy, Sarah, Arelys, Heidi, and Shanna for being so incredible throughout the entire experience. I can’t count how many emails I sent during the planning process, and every single one was answered promptly, patiently, and with genuine care.
The day-of coordinators went above and beyond to help with everything from decorating the welcome table and changing out the water in our bud vases, to cueing our wedding party’s walks and keeping the timeline on track. It was clear that we were in the hands of an incredibly experienced team, and their attention to detail made such a difference. We felt so well taken care of throughout the entire day, which allowed us to relax and truly enjoy our wedding.
We are so grateful we chose Firehouse Chicago and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any couple looking for a venue that is beautiful, charming, full of character, and backed by an amazing team. 5 stars all around! Photos by Ivy Bowler Photography.

prior and when we left our tour for Firehouse Chicago, we just knew this must be the place! What stands out about Firehouse Chicago is the people, Sarah and Teddy are wonderful to work with for all your planning needs, which trust me as a type A person, I had so many questions. They approached every question with care and really supported our vision and if our vision changed, they were down for that too! Firehouse Chicago provides a thoughtful vendor list that really made all the wedding planning seamless and our vendors all mentioned how much they love working at Firehouse Chicago! The space itself is perfect. I love plants and being outdoors so having our ceremony in the garden area was truly a dream come true. The Firehouse is so well decorated and furnished so well that you don’t have to do a lot of wedding decor. We loved that space immediately and seeing it full of everyone we love at our wedding was incredible! So to summarize, the venue was perfect, our wedding flowed so well and felt like us, and was the perfect backdrop to celebrate our love story. I’ve lived near Firehouse Chicago since I moved to the city in 2015, and I’ve always thought it looked so charming from the outside. It turns out, the inside - both the venue and the people - is even more magical.
From the very first spreadsheet to the last-minute gin run (yes, they literally said “hand me your card, I’ve got you” and took care of it), Sarah and Teddy went above and beyond in every possible way. Their attention to detail, calm presence, and genuine care made the entire experience so seamless and joyful.
Our families are still raving about the Firehouse team: Sarah, Teddy, MC, Heidi, and Shanna. Every single one of them made us feel like our wedding was the most important one they’ve ever hosted. And based on all the glowing reviews from other couples, I know we’re not alone in feeling that way.
This was truly the wedding of our dreams, for my husband and me. If you’re considering Firehouse Chicago, please take this as your sign: book it. You won’t regret it.

Their guidance and support throughout the entire planning process was invaluable, especially since both my partner and I were working full time. They made everything feel seamless. We are so grateful for their care, responsiveness, and warmth. You can tell they genuinely care about their couples and treat each wedding with love. My only regret is that since I’m already married I can’t have another wedding at the Firehouse! Maybe a vow renewal in the future. The staff was so kind, professional, and easy to work with. They were easy to communicate with and took the stress out of planning.
I expected the day of to be stressful, but the Firehouse staff handled all of the setup and did a beautiful job. Our wedding party was able to get ready and enjoy the day without having to help us with any of the setup.
The courtyard was absolutely stunning. It's beautifully maintained and feels private and intimate.
Their preferred vendors were a dream to work with as well. I'm sure all of their preferred vendors are great, but my husband and I would highly recommend Groove Is In The Heart for a DJ, Meredith Donnelly Photography, and Tamale Spaceship for dinner, open bar, and desserts.
As 1/2 of a queer couple, we felt welcomed by the staff and vendors at every step.

The opening staff was friendly and took the initiative to set up our decor, programs, signage, floral, and seating with minimal direction from my end. What they put together was a beautiful setting on top of an already stunning venue. The closing staff organized all of our decor and belongings at the end of the night in record time making set up and shut down as painless as possible.
In addition to the beautiful venue and wonderful staff, Firehouse gave us a list of recommended vendors including catering, photography, and DJ. This made wedding planning much easier and we ended up having food, music, and photos our guests are still raving about.
Most importantly, as a gay couple, we were looking for an inclusive venue that was welcoming to all and the Firehouse delivered on all fronts. I cannot recommend this venue enough to anyone looking to get married in Chicago. We saved so many costs and headaches thanks to their organized planning and exceptional service and support.

e perfect backdrop for our day. We chose to rent the upstairs room to get ready morning of, took all of our pictures onsite, had our ceremony in the garden, and dinner/reception in the engine room. The gorgeous greenery, subway tiles, natural light, and overall gorgeous aesthetic was perfect for us to relax and enjoy our day, and was truly picturesque from every angle for photos. Their attention to detail in curating this beautiful space is truly remarkable.
Beyond its idyllic setting, one of the biggest perks of Firehouse Chicago, is the staff, and the wedding coordination that is included (you don't need to hire a separate day-of or month-of coordinator for this venue!). We got the pleasure of working closely with Teddy and Sarah and we really appreciated their calm reassuring demeanor throughout the wedding planning process, and their delicate touch knowing how important this day was for us and know overwhelming wedding planning can be. They truly helped take some of the stress and worry out of the planning process from start to finish. They ensured every little detail went off without a hitch from start to finish. They were so helpful in initial planning, month-of coordinating, day-of execution, and responding to all of my questions along the way. The rest of the Firehouse Staff was incredible day-of, and made sure everything ran smoothly. They kept us to our timeline, checked in with us frequently throughout the day, calmed my nerves as I waited to walk down the aisle, helped hype us up and build our confidence for our fire pole entrance, and even ensured we had some quiet time to ourselves after the ceremony to let things sink in and enjoy our moment. Their staff is truly the best- we were so fortunate we chose them for our big day.

First of all, Firehouse is charming as all HECK. This isn’t your drab hotel ballroom where partition walls, lighting rigs and bunches and bunches of flowers can barely start to cover the lack of character. This space has personality and soul, every last inch.
Classic Chicago neighborhood setting, we didn’t want to leave the beautiful courtyard space. Everything about the venue is built to make your guests feel at home, comfortable and intimate to the party. Did we mention the firepole?! Best entry ever for a groom to make.
We can’t recommend enough – Teddy and Sarah listened to all our thoughts/concerns/ideas and custom built a space and flow that complimented the night in every possible way.

We loved that they coordinated with all the vendors to orchestra all the moving pieces so we didn't have to; this gave us so much peace of mind and mental bandwidth to focus on other priorities. We felt our needs were always anticipated, and the staff were waiting to assist at a moment's notice.
We also loved that minimal additional decor was needed when choosing this venue. The firehouse's character and courtyard made for a uniquely Chicago experience, which we and our guests loved.
Lastly, we loved how all the essential details were managed and kept orderly, so we had one less thing to think or worry about. 10/10 highly recommend!

forward to 8 years later and we got married at Firehouse. My wife fell in love with the venue as soon as we pulled up. Its a 1920s firehouse and alll the beautiful, unique, and intricate details make the venue absolutely gorgeous. The details from outside, inside, and the rooms are beautiful. The location is amazing and everyone at the wedding loved the ambience. You don't even need much decor with how beautiful the space is. Highly recommend the 3 rooms upstairs.
Now for the staff, Sarah and Teddy helped us up to the wedding and were organized and very communicative. They supported us throughout with decisions and made sure the day of went perfectly. I literally cannot think of a thing I would change because how smoothly their help made the event go. The staff who opened put out the decor and it was perfect. They were extremely caring and helpful. One Firehouse member had helped fix our polaroid cause a guest messed up putting in film and he was right on top of it. The staff was so caring and helpful! Thank you all sooooo much!

ecommend amazing vendors, and c) create a literal GOAT'd wedding (direct quote from a guest) you have to pick Firehouse Chicago. Every single of our guests complimented us on how smooth the ship ran and that is all due to the outstanding team at Firehouse. From Day 1 they let us know they'll help with day-of coordination and a spreadsheet that will help manage the timeline. These two pieces are not to be understated as they helped align all the pieces for everyone in our wedding! To boot they KILLED it with the decoration and all our guests could not stop talking about the fire pole entrance. Firehouse also works so nicely with all their recommended vendors (Lula Cafe in particular, which if you haven't started shopping for caterers go there after you've booked with Firehouse). I wish I could say more than the allotted word count I have here but I don't want to bore you.
Make your life easy, amaze your guests, show them a side of Chicago they don't see often and book with Firehouse now.
Also, for those of you worried about the proximity to downtown fret not Lake Shore Drive made it actually super convenient for our guests. Shout-out also to Nicki from TWA (get her for photos) and Barrelman Tavern for the best impromptu afties.

Sarah coordinated everything while being so easy to work with including answering all of my silly questions! She made me feel at ease with everything going on, including when a vendor changed their timeline just a few days before the wedding. The day of staff were also amazing, on the ball helping with everything, and so kind. I can’t say enough amazing things about Firehouse! Just about all of our guests individually gawked about it to us throughout the night, and some are still talking about it! The greenery all throughout the property is stunning, and the charm of the firehouse is unparalleled, but what really sets Firehouse apart from a typical vendor is their staff. Sarah, Turtle, Teddy, and everyone else involved were superb to work with, and consistently addressed any and all of our needs. Turtle & Teddy in particular were spectacular as the day of venue coordinators, and truly had us feeling like guests at our own wedding. The team took care of it all, from setting up the decor to receiving deliveries, so we didn't have to think about anything day-of other than enjoying ourselves and saying 'I do.' We rented the upstairs getting-ready spaces as well so were able to spend the entire day there. (And believe me, Firehouse thought of everything a bride could need on her big day, down to Tums and hair ties.) We had the best time, and heard from many guests what a charming and warm feel the venue had. We wish we could do it all over again!

, and all of the decor details that just had us swooning and ready to start planning our whimsy vintage themed wedding here.
The staff seriously exceeded our expectations. Throughout the year that we planned our wedding they were consistently attentive and responsive to all of our inquiries. And when it came to the month coming up to our big day they were on it with our plan and had several back up plans for us. We were eternally grateful for this level of preparation and coordination between vendors when our Chicago Spring weather did a complete 180 5 days from our wedding. They worked diligently in the final days to rearrange our plans and pitched in to help our florist and caterers with a flip that was a drastic change to our original plans in order to make our wedding dreams come true.
Day of they were amazing, starting from first thing in the morning until hours after our event was over they were working so hard making sure we had everything we needed. They were miracle workers packing up all the stuff our wedding party and guests left behind and making sure our family were sent off with everything. Days after the wedding they were still just as accommodating and responsive while we were getting ourselves back together and organizing pickups from vendors.
Finally, you get the go down a fire pole as your grand entrance. It was so fun and our guests LOVED it!

Firehouse Chicago jumped into action and came up with a solution that was amendable for our situation. They also were willing to work with us about guest count and the space upstairs. They really were such gems. I would STRONGLY suggest splurging on the candle package. It was such a beautiful touch to the space. Everything turned out perfectly all because Firehouse Chicago knew what to do and made our wedding feel so special. If you are looking for a unique space with lots of history and charm, look no further than Firehouse Chicago. The tables are beautiful for dinner and everyone from our wedding continues to rave about how homey and cozy it felt there. (Also, such a PLUS, was having a day of coordinator included in the cost of the venue. We went to SO many venues that did not have this and it was such a relief to have someone there that knew EVERYTHING about the space.)

we had an amazing day. The venue hit everything we wanted for our wedding: small, intimate, relaxed, and lots of character. We also wanted to have an indoor and outdoor space, and have our wedding and reception in the same place. We booked the venue well before covid and had to reschedule, and were able to do so with no problem. With covid safety protocol changing quickly during the spring and summer of 2021, the Firehouse made sure to keep us updated and reassured throughout, and provided us with clear information and ideas about how to make our event happen. We ended up reducing our guest list by half and ended up with a super intimate group. We were also able to get ready at the venue and it helped SO much with planning to just be able to arrive on the morning of the wedding and do everything on site. From the planning to the morning of the wedding to dancing the night away, we will cherish our memories at the Firehouse forever.

The entire team coming together made our wedding even more special. The care and dedication that Paige and her staff put into the venue shows in every detail of the event. We couldn't be any happier in our choice of venue. If you're set on getting married in Chicago with a small-to-medium guest list, this place is worth every penny.
We went with:
- The candle package and didn't really need any additional decorations past the usual guest book, card boxes, etc.
- The wedding studio upstairs was a great staging area for breakfast for our wedding party, getting ready shots, and coordinating last minute details
- Outdoor ceremony on one of the last perfect fall days, which meant nobody was too cold and the lighting was just right
We were so happy that Erika was able to coordinate the rehearsal and day-of details. It made everything seem effortless, even though we knew that so, so, SO much work went in to making everything run smoothly. Thank you guys so much!
