My event day with Favored by Yodit Events & Design was magical because of Yodit's meticulous planning, creativity, and attention to detail down to her encouragement to glam up for ...
the event which ultimately made me feel beautiful and confident. She was incredibly resourceful, flexible, respectful of my budget, patient, and a joy to work with. Walking into the event, I was overjoyed with her thoughtful design that perfectly captured the spirit of the elegant, nostalgic yet elevated, grown and sexy lounge vibe I wanted. And most of all, Yodit and her team executed everything flawlessly, allowing me to revel in the moment with family and friends. It was truly an unforgettable evening, and I cannot recommend Favored by Yodit Events & Design highly enough. I look forward to working with her again for future celebrations!

enge that came up with ease. Her problem-solving skills were on point, ensuring everything ran smoothly. On the day of the wedding, her team, including Indira and Treasure, was instrumental in making sure everything came together.
It was an absolute delight to work with Yodit and her team and I couldn’t imagine my magical day without her by my side!
While I could truly write for days, I will share a few hig...
hlights for the next guest or partner of Yodit:
- Yodit is a calm presence. From every phone call, meeting in person, email, or text, Yodit was affirming, supportive, solution oriented, and fully confident. If I had concerns or questions about something, she was really great at providing details, answering, and confirming that I felt clear, better, or otherwise.
- Yodit is very in tune with her clients. When working with other vendors, she would often share, “my client is visual - could you please provide pictures?” In addition to learning how we processed and made decisions, she would also present vendors who she felt aligned with our energy, wedding vibes, and could work well with us and one another. She truly understands people and how they feel, react, and work together. In moments of challenge, she also prioritized how we could feel, managed any dynamics with vendors, and felt comfortable troubleshooting.
- Yodit is very open to feedback and able to have harder conversations. She values the relationship with her clients and vendors, and truly wants to be able to engage in open dialogue.
- Yodit is extremely respected in the industry. Each vendor we worked with spoke so highly of Yodit. People were very honored and excited to work with Yodit and be selected by us. In turn, the deliverables were all on point. Again, this goes back to Yodit’s relationships. On the day of my wedding, the vendors were so happy to see one an other, work with me, and invested a lot of time into making sure every detail was covered.
- Yodit is fun, loving, joyful, and caring. After working together for so long, she truly grew into a person who I could exchange life updates with, learn from, and enjoy special moments with regularly.
Lastly, I’ll just share that Yodit loves what she does and without a doubt knows what she is doing. From planning, to vendors, to which flowers are best in certain seasons, to color shades, choosing chairs, and more - she’s solid. She knows the tricks of the trade, offers good advice, and it ready to be with you on the journey. She is strategic, well experienced, and has high integrity. She moves knowing her name is literally on everything, but more importantly, that this day, event, experience is so important to the client. Her team also shares these qualities and invests deeply in your wedding, experience, and caring for you throughout.
Yodit is amazing.

We are beyond thrilled to share our heartfelt testimonial for Yodit and Pooja, who made our wedding day one we will always remember. From the very beginning of our planning journey...
, spanning over a year, their exceptional dedication, attention to detail, and seamless coordination ensured that our wedding day was perfect.
Their expertise was evident in every aspect, from the meticulous planning and organization to the flawless execution on the big day. Yodit and Pooja's personal assistance made the entire weekend feel warm and stress-free. They took care of every little detail, ensuring the bride was fed, the groomsmen were organized, and our family and friends were well-informed and comfortable.
The Favored By Yodit team is undeniably the cream of the crop when it comes to exceptional wedding planning. Their professionalism, warmth, and tireless efforts turned our dream wedding into a reality. We are incredibly grateful for everything they did to make our special day unforgettable.
Thank you, Yodit and Pooja!

ich happened when we were living across the country and in a different timezone!), Carol was incredibly responsive and helped us form a cohesive vision for our big day. When we found FavoredByYodit, we were so overwhelmed by the planning process, but Carol broke everything we needed to do down into manageable tasks and walked us through the entire process. And she ensured we had fun while doing it! On the day of our wedding, she handled all the logistics and the day flowed perfectly because of her management skills. Thank you, Carol and the FBY team!!

ng are unmatched. With our demanding schedules and bi-coastal travel, Yodit made all things easy. She was by our side guiding our decisions from the details of our engagement photoshoot, to planning and executing our special day. Yodit assembled the most incredible vendor team that made our dreams of an intimate Ethopian-Italian, foodie wedding a reality. We’re still in awe of how Yodit was somehow able to make every detail immaculately exuded who we are as a couple! All of our guests raved that it was the best wedding they had ever attended and it’s all because of Yodit and her team. We’re going to miss Yodit as our planner, but gained a friend for life and will forever be a Favored Couple!
This team is a well-oiled machine! There was not a single thing that popped up that Yodit and her team could not handle. From managing the vendors, to managing our families, bridal...
party, and us in general, they were absolutely flawless.
My husband and I were both allocated a coordinator for the day, and we cannot imagine our wedding day without them. Everything that we asked of them (so, so many things), they simply delivered without questions asked. They knew exactly where we needed to be at every point throughout the day, and I cannot emphasize enough how much stress this takes off of you. I was a pretty stressed out bride, and even the morning of, I was still feeling pretty stressed. However, when I got to my venue and saw Yodit and was then introduced to Carol, I immediately felt the stress subside. They took care of me from the time I walked through the doors until the time I made it back to my hotel that night.
There are a million and one things that can (and do) go wrong on your wedding day. However, I can’t name a single thing that I was made aware of. Yodit’s team handled absolutely everything. The schedule, the vendors, my stained wedding dress and the ensuing panic – Yodit even fed me during photos to make sure I would make it through the day! Hands down the absolute best coordination I have ever seen. My guests even felt the difference. So many of them have said “Everything just ran so smoothly. It was flawlessly executed.” This is purely thanks to the Favored by Yodit team.
They bring a level of excellence, professionalism, energy and pure fun that every single wedding (and stressed bride and groom) need. I’m so sad that our time working with the team has come to an end because they are phenomenal. However, I’m so excited for the future couples that get to work with them! Thank you so much to our Favored team! The absolute best!

c is very stressful and can constantly change from day to day. Yodit was patient and understand and held our hand when we needed to have serious conversations. Our day was absolutely perfect, from start to finish! We truly see the Favored by Yodit Events & Design team as family. The smiles and tears from their team was so meaningful and all of our guests enjoyed them and were simply amazed. We couldn't have imagined a more beautiful day and we couldn't have had that without the Favored by Yodit Events & Design! We are unbelievably thankful to their team and all they did for us during this special time!

ive, very responsive and helped us execute our vision and remain in budget. Their help during the process was invaluable. Their day of support was even more extraordinary! Everything was planned and timed to a T! My husband and I truly had the most worry free day! The Favored By Yodit team did it all and definitely left us (and our bridal party!) worry free throughout the whole evening. This experience was magical and we know it would have been otherwise without them. Seriously, book them!
Yodit and her team are heaven-sent! My husband and I got the 'Month Of' package and picked vendors and decor up to the wedding month, but Yodit was still there with us every step o...
f the way, answering any questions we had and giving advice and vendor recommendations. She also gives you a shared excel spreadsheet to help keep us updated and on track. Then when it got to the wedding day, we didn't have to worry about a thing. Everything went smoothly as we wanted, and Yodit took a huge weight off our shoulders. We also wanted a planner to balance the Ethiopian and American sides and understand our culture. Yodit's team was professional, super sweet women, and easy to talk to. Seriously, we couldn't ask for a better planner and team!
"You do not know what you do not know" until you see Yodit Gebreyes at work! My daughter was getting married in DC; I live in Southern California...I thought this was going to be ...
rough and I was stressed! But, the minute we made the decision to hire Yodit to be our Wedding Planner, I felt a load of weight come off my shoulders. I trusted that we were in good hands and I was right. Yodit and her team made every detail perfect with the utmost grace, calm, and kindness. She knows this business inside and out and connected us with the right vendors, steered us to the right theme and decor, created the most beautiful verbiage, and brought to life the "vibe" and style we were after.
In the last couple of weeks since the wedding, we have had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding they have ever been to....it wasn't extraordinarily lavish or grand, but it captured the bride and groom's personality in such a way that included everyone.
Yodit and her team are professionals who care about the couple, the families behind them, and each guest who comes out to support them. I trust Yodit without reservation - she is someone I want on my event team for life. No matter where in the world my next daughter decides to get married, a call to Yodit will be the first one I make!

ant state mandates that would impact our summer 2021 wedding and they recommended most of the vendors we ended up working with and loving. Both of them made themselves available via Zoom, phone calls or texts for our many questions. Most importantly, they stayed on top of all the essentials as we were getting closer to the wedding and helped us execute the wedding of our dreams. All our families and friends cannot stop talking about how beautiful, well organized, and fun the wedding was. Bringing Favored by Yodit on board was the BEST decision we made and they are worth every penny!!!
My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Yodit and her team on our wedding. Yodit is definitely a force within the wedding planning industry. She brings to the table an imm...
ense amount of knowledge, flair for what makes sense, and resources. She is extremely professional and organized. She provides a client checklist which provides step by step guidance through the process. She makes herself available to her clients which makes her a huge asset, because planning a wedding (ESPECIALLY IN A PANDEMIC) can be super stressful. But because she is so personable and open to communicate, she alleviates that stress.
Because of Covid, our wedding date changed several times and the concept behind what we wanted to do also evolved over time to meet the constraints of the pandemic & just overall esthetic. Because of the constant changes, we had to act with a fluidity that most planners probably could not have handled, but Yodit handled it with grace! Every time something changed, she rolled up her sleeves and rolled with the punches to get the job done! And she most definitely understood the assignment and did what needed to be done. When my wife walked into the reception for our first look of the space, she was speechless. Every specific want that we wanted was there. Yodit’s acute attention to detail ensured that every element that was important to us as a couple was represented…even down to the smell of the room! (Me as the groom takes credit for that) She transformed that space and sealed the deal to make that moment magical, sexy, and chic. Thank you Yodit!
Her access to multiple vendors is also a huge plus! Fluffy Thoughts Bakery did our cake. It was amazing and they also listened to our wants regarding cake design. 27 Studios did an amazing job with draping the room and transforming the space. Our photographer, Rhea Whitney, she was also an absolute pleasure to work with and professional throughout the whole process. The Favored By Yodit team was worth the money spent. If you are looking for someone who is detail oriented, friendly, well connected & respected within the industry, and committed to presenting to the world an experience like no other…check her team out.

ecognized our plight of having to manage over 40 vendors from all over the country along with the uncertainty of city mandates around covid and jumped in to save the day!
Yodit has so much experience and has developed such wonderful relationships with the best vendors that she was patiently able to help guide us in planning and executing the wedding, including 3 full days of an elaborate set up! The city didn't open up to allow for weddings for more than 10 people 5 days before the wedding and our backup plan of having it outdoors was threatened due to the weather forecast of RAIN! She went over and beyond to give us options and most importantly, was compassionate and empathetic.
Even though she has other clients (and a new baby!) she made us feel like we were the most important couple.
She was amazing, kind, professional, attentive, on point answering back to emails, calls, changes and concerns. You all made our wedding beautiful and more than what anyone could have expected!
Getting to work with Yodit was such a blessing! She is radiant and will be able to handle anything that can possibly dampen your day (and she'll probably make sure you never even know about it!!).
We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better team of professionals to make our day the most amazing day. We are on cloud nine!

is clear she has an excellent relationship with many vendors around the DC/MD/VA area as they were always so excited to work with us knowing she was our planner.
Although our wedding plans changed drastically due to Covid-19, Yodit worked to make our event as special as possible and quickly gave us feedback on modifications while still meeting our initial vision. We could not have had as beautiful and as successful of an event without Yodit and the team!

There is no way our 2-day wedding celebration would have gone as smoothly as it did without Yodit’s support, attentiveness and flexibility. Yodit and her team went above and beyond so many times to make our day special. We began this process as Yodit's clients, but after working together we think of her as family (as do our guests!)

y the time leading up to our event was laden with hurdles given the intricacies of planning around COVID. However, Yodit remained encouraging, supportive, and ultimately came up with alternative solutions to executing the event we imagined despite the circumstances. Our wedding day could not have been more perfect! She is honest with opinions and has such sense of style. Because of her we were able to connect with other amazing vendors. We are incredibly pleased with our experience and would undoubtedly recommend Yodi's team to others hoping for an exceptional event!
I highly recommend working with Yodit and her team! We initially were thinking of just hiring a day-of planner (we consider ourselves "low key") but we are so so so happy we hired ...
her. I could not be happier with her professionalism, her organization, her extensive (and I mean, extensive) knowledge of the wedding industry, and her handling of the day from start to finish. We are so lucky that we found her-- her network of vendors is impeccable, her recommendations were on-point, and the day was smooth sailing. She truly catered her planning and approach to fit our style, and we really appreciated that. I hope one day we have an another excuse to work with her, because beyond being consummate professionals, her team is full of down to earth, great people!
Having Favored as part of our wedding was the best decision we made! On top of Yodit’s attention to detail, organization, professionalism, patience, and all around beautiful work, ...
her energy is incredible to have around. Our destination wedding was an entire weekend celebration with multiple activities to manage and she handled it flawlessly. She made sure me and my husband were happy at all times and that we did not have any worries or stress. Not to mention, she does it all with a smile! It was truly the best weekend of our lives. Thank you so much and we love you, Yodit!

th us. That meant finding someone up for a challenge and Yodit was the perfect fit! Loved ones thought I was nuts when I shared some of my vision for the wedding, but Yodit kept the vision realistic while working hard to execute the achievable dreams. She slam-dunked every one of my required “3 Ps:” she was personable, problem solving, and professional. Yodit and her team were able to solve many of our conundrums and, on the day-of, were behind the scenes solving problems I didn’t even know we had until afterward. As someone who came in wondering if a wedding planner was worth the budget line item, my mind is forever changed. If you’re looking for a wedding planner who “gets it,” this is where you turn.

es above and beyond to ensure that your wedding is everything you want and then some. She surprised me with a picture of my mother for my bouquet the morning of the wedding when I told I didn’t have time to get it printed! She ensures that she understands your big picture while still making sure details do not fall through the cracks. She made herself very accessible and never made us feel like we were bothering her, even when I was being a bridezilla and texting her in the middle of the night! Yodit also was very honest with us about what was within our budget and when we were not being realistic. But mostly, Yodit always made it very clear that she was on our side. She dealt with vendors and made sure that we were getting fair pricing and fought for us! It is very reassuring to know that you have a professional on your side during a process that can get confusing and hectic. She helped put our hearts at ease. And this is all before the wedding day! Now on the day of, I can't stress enough how professional, how alert, how friendly and amazing the entire Favored team was! Having to wrangle a bridal party of 23, a guest list of over 400 people and two families with strong personalities, the entire team was calm and kept us laughing on our special day. Every step of the way, the team made us feel supported and took all of our worries away. The team allowed us to focus on us and our guests, while the rest of the wedding was on auto pilot. Never did they show us all of the stress that was happening behind the scenes! They were right there when we turned around and needed them, but gave us space to enjoy everything! Their entire focus was that our special day was perfect and it was! I highly recommend them if anyone wants a perfect wedding day! Thank you Yodit and the Favored team forever and ever!

ling our large wedding party on the day of and keeping my anxiety at bay. On my wedding day, I literally worried about nothing; and my bridal party and family felt taken care of! tyled wedding. Her and her team did not disappoint in the slightest! From the expansive spreadsheet to get us going to the very detail oriented staff that kept us on schedule, we could not have asked for a better day with a better planner. Was worth every penny. Yodit made Amanda and I feel even more special & solidified this being the best day of our lives!!
Hiring Favorite by Yodit and her team to be our event planners was one of the best investments we have ever made. At the beginning, I was very hesitant about getting a planner due ...
to the financial commitment and not understanding what event planners offer and trust them. The true value of an amazing team and planner can be seen on the day of the wedding. It’s an amazing relieve to have someone not family related to be primary contact that all your vendors’ questions and concerns will go through. While Mona and I were focusing on the day of our wedding Yodits teams were able to verify and assure delivery from the vendors. Having a timekeeper and making sure we will be able to complete the program without going over time as you might get lost in the moment of celebrating, was extremely helpful. while we were leaving they made sure that we have a plate for us to take back to our hotel and eat.
Throughout the wedding planning process, we have built an amazing family that understands your vision and expectations. They were able to accommodate our different time zone, schedules, answering all the questions or setting up meetings with vendors. I attest to anyone that the executions were far more than what we have anticipated. All of our guests that we have talked about since the wedding express to us our wedding was the best wedding they have ever attended. We would not have been able to accomplish such a beautiful event without the assistance of Yodit and Her Team.
Thank you very much Yodit for the amazing work you have done. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and exactly what we have envisioned.

our love story and created the most spectacular and romantic event any bride could ask for. From stationery, venue, florals, color scheme, and design the entire ambiance was captured in each and every detail. Her partnership with some of the best hair and make-up artists, florists, venues, lighting, photography and videography brought forth a vendor team that was an all-star cast. They worked in a chorus to ensure our day was seamless. Our guests from young to old led a resounding compliment that it was the best wedding they have ever been too. All praises to the great work and diligence by her amazing team. Thank you FavoredbyYodit for bringing our dreams to life!

joyable, and definitely reduced our stress levels. Trust me, It's worth every penny! Yodit was a great resource to have especially because we had a destination wedding (we are from Toronto, Canada but our wedding was in Washington DC)she connected us to some amazing vendors, we had several of them...an amazing caterer Dama, and incredible photographer (Judah Avenue Photography) florist, an incredible cake baker (Fluffy Thoughts), an amazing team of bartenders and serving staff (Mixin’ Mimi), and it was great to NOT be the go-to person for all of these people on the day-of.
Yodit from Favored by Yodit Events and design, helped alleviate our stress leading up to the wedding by providing helpful tips and resources that kept my husband and I on track for our big day. During rehearsal day she made sure all of our attendants, including the little ones (ring bearer...), knew exactly what they were doing.
On our wedding day, we knew we had absolutely nothing to stress about because Yodit and her team were on it. Every little detail, every step of the way. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better planner, and are so grateful that we picked Yodit to help us throughout our wedding planning. Everything was perfect on our wedding day. We are eternally grateful to Yodit and her team! Kudos ladies!!

ded us through every step and made herself readily available to answer and address any questions or concerns. Without her and her team, planning a wedding of this nature would have been a nightmare and practically impossible. On the day of the wedding, the level of preparation, dedication, effort, problem solving and professionalism of Yodit and her team was impeccable. Any role we needed them to play they did it with a smile on their faces; from photographer's assistant, to seamstress, to bartender, wrangler, fetcher of all things food, phones, shoes, etc. You name it, they did it. It was more than what we could have asked for. They kept us on our toes and on top of the schedule. Everything went without a hitch and it was all thanks to them. Our families were so impressed and spoke nothing but praises for Yodit and the team. We would recommend Favored by Yodit over and over and over again. They are a part of our forever!!

ng planning process effortless and enjoyable.
As someone who has a demanding career with limited time out of work, Yodit was able to work with my schedule by finding alternative hours to meet and working so well through email/text to complete tedious tasks. Her humble, unflappable and vibrant personality made the whole process seamless and sad when it all ended.
Our wedding was beyond our wildest imagination, hugely due to Yodit's focus to detail, organization and execution. On the day of our wedding, her team did an excellent job bringing together months of planning without missing a beat. She is worth every penny! If available, you would be most fortunate to have Favored By Yodit plan your event. Trust me!
Yodit and her team at Favored by Yodit Events and Design went above and beyond to ensure our large, multi-cultural wedding was absolutely perfect. From the beginning, Yodit worked ...
with us to create a planning package that met our needs and budget. She helped take the guesswork (and time!) out of choosing vendors by connecting us with excellent vendors in her network, and helped us prioritize where to allocate our budget in terms of event design. Besides the color scheme, I didn’t have a strong vision for exactly what I wanted our wedding to look like, so her assistance in design and decor was so valuable. Her eye for design is really impeccable, and my husband and I were blown away when seeing both the ceremony and reception venues post-decoration. Day of, Yodit and her team were just outstanding- from making sure I had water even before I knew I needed it, solving a last minute issue with recessional music, bustling my dress when it was time to hit the dance floor, and even going our of their way to get a slice of cake for a bridesmaid who didn’t get one. I would highly recommend Favored by Yodit Events and Design for a beautiful, well-run, and unforgettable wedding or event!

I have the tendency to get too deep into the details, but she was right there to pull me out when I needed it. She is professional, transparent, patient, and will do everything she can to make sure your day goes without a hitch.

She worked endlessly trying to promote, find sponsorships, negotiate contracts etc. There is no BIG task this woman cant handle. The event was about 2 months ago and I still hear people talking about it all the time. The connections and opportunities she helped me create are immeasurable. She is worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY and MORE! I will be referring her to everyone I know!

ding for my Soror in 2015, and was introduced to Yodit of Favored by Yodit. I immediately struck by her professionalism and organized nature. This lady and her team just knew what they were doing! Bringing Yodit on for my wedding - just one year later - was by far, the best decision that we made during our process. She was a fantastic person to bounce ideas off of. Her vendor connections were amazing and I was impressed with the ideas that she brought to the table. The best part - she was super creative in identifying ways to get what we wanted within our budget!
I highly recommend Yodit and her team. You will not be disappointed.

with Yodit from our very first meeting. Professional, organized, immaculate attention to detail, creative and first-class customer service are just a few words that come to mind when I think of Yodit. I was often amazed at her extensive list of contacts and vendor referrals. Whatever I asked for, she was able to deliver. Her knowledge and expertise were invaluable!

My guests have continued to proclaim that the level of detail, gorgeous decor, personal touches, and lively entertainment made our wedding one of the most memorable and joyous occasions they can recall. Yodit helped create a day that my husband and I will forever cherish. If you are looking for a wedding planner, then look no further then Favored by Yodit Events!
My husband and I went back and forth for a while trying to figure out whether to hire a day-of-coordinator for our June wedding. We are so glad that we did and that we worked with ...
Favored by Yodit. Initially we met with Yodit, and then also worked with Carol, who was onsite as the coordinator on the day of our wedding. They put together shared Google documents and spreadsheets where we could organize our information in once place. Carol came with us to do a walk-through at our venue to make sure we had everything covered. The day of the wedding, it was wonderful to go from planning mode to celebrating and enjoying our wedding. I didn’t have to worry because Carol was there making sure that everything was on track and guests were happy. We had an incredibly fun and joyful wedding and have since heard from guests how everything worked and went so smoothly. Our main contact at the venue had an emergency and wasn't able to be onsite on our wedding day, which made us even more thankful that Carol was there. Thank you to Carol, Yodit, and Rudy, who was the onsite assistant, for taking care of the details so we could kick, back, relax and enjoy. It was worth every penny.
Yodit is simply an amazing wedding planner! She is a consummate professional with a lot of great ideas and the PERFECT demeanor for her position.
My favorite characteristic is ...
her ability to be honest with me about the decisions that I am making. If she thinks that I am going in the wrong direction with my wedding planning, she lets me know and then provides me with options that she thinks will work better (Her options are always better).
Overall, hiring her was genuinely the best decision that we made during in our wedding planning process. It's great to be Favored by Yodit!
