My dress try-on experience was amazing. The consultant helped me find my dream dress, and was so patient and encouraging! However, they ordered me 2 sizes larger than I had agreed,... which made alterations cost an arm and a leg. I was anticipating spending about $300-350 on alterations, but after I came back in once my dress had arrived, they quoted me $600-700. This was because they ordered me 2 sizes too large - I now had to pay for a ton of alterations to the bust and straps I wasn’t anticipating. The alterations manager listened to my frustrations and decided they would cover the cost of the bust alterations, because she agreed they had not ordered based off my measurements. I really appreciated this.
When I was waiting after my alterations appointment, I heard some of the staff in the back badmouthing me. They kept saying “who does she think she is” and talking about how entitled I was to get some alterations for free. I heard them name drop me, and only 1 person (the girl helping me that day) dared to say anything in my favor. At that point, I just wanted to get my dress and never have to deal with this shop again. It seriously reminded me of the mean girls from high school in the locker room when they thought you couldn’t hear them. My dress turned out beautiful, but I left my last visit with them feeling hurt and like they were insincere in offering to cover one of the alterations on my dress.
