Erin Shimazu Photography

n extremely talented photographer. To invest in her is truly an investment in knowing that she will beautifully preserve your most irreplaceable memories. She understands lighting, will help guide you with poses, listens to what is important to you, and her editing is done with such care. Something that elevated our experience with her is that she cares deeply about the emotional and mental well-being of her clients, and she goes above and beyond for her couples and in our case, our children, too. Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, Erin could not photograph our actual wedding day, but we had kept in contact with one another because again, she is just such an incredible person. So, fast forward to when our wedding day photographers left us beyond heartbroken and devastated by our wedding day experience, I reached out to Erin. She listened to how much I was struggling with the unfortunate circumstances when she never needed to. She was professional, respectful, and extremely empathetic. While we couldn’t recreate that one day, she went above and beyond to take wedding portraits with the most important photo being one of us with our sons. Erin was very supportive of following the photo list we had created and she made the entire process a healing and positive experience. It is because of Erin Shimazu Photography, we now have the beautiful wedding portraits of us and our sons and the individual and couple wedding day portraits that capture our love. There will never be enough words to thank her. My sons asked that I added their own feelings after working with Erin. “Erin, you always make me feel like I am important and I am glad we are friends. “Erin, I will never forget your kindness and I would like to thank you for giving our family not only beautiful photos but for the quiet memories that we will forever remember sharing with you the day that you took our photos. You are so talented and we appreciate you!” If you are still with us and our long review: My family and I hope this helps you understand why writing this review is so important to us. Erin is absolutely someone who you want in your corner and behind the camera at your wedding or special event. We will forever be cheering for her and her undeniable talents.

with me for scouting. The day of the wedding went very smooth and we had full confidence that our memories were in good hands. When the photos arrived, we were brought to tears with how beautifully they came out. She provided a large collection of high quality photos that were professionally edited. As an artist myself my standards were very high and Erin exceeded my expectations! I could not recommend her more.

ugh during the planning process, and helped guide us step by step to ensure she had the timeline and shot list so that she could work her magic on the big day. While visiting the venue with us prior to our wedding date, she was incredibly mindful of all the aspects that help us capture the best possible photos. She even visited once more on her own to confirm the lighting at the exact time of our wedding! On the wedding day itself, Erin was very prepared and leveraged the timeline and shot list to make the most of her time with us. She did an excellent job of managing the timeline while ensuring that as a couple we had the freedom to experience the day as we most liked without feeling restricted. Like most brides, I was a bundle of nerves on my wedding day, but I definitely feel like having Erin accompanying us and guiding us throughout the photography really helped me feel at ease and honestly made my wedding day even better. We had multiple guests comment at how organized and pleasant she was to work with. She has an incredibly comforting presence :) We worked with both her and her teammate Adam on the day of the wedding to ensure we could get plenty of photos of both the groomsmen and the bridesmaids. Adam was such a pleasure to work with as well! He put in so much effort to get us the best possible shots and I can't say enough how much I appreciate his hard work tossing my veil up and then hearing his footsteps as he ran out of the shot, so he could act as the "wind" in my veil for our various shots! We received an incredibly comprehensive first look of photos about a month after, then received our full gallery 4 months later. It's a bit hard to explain but she did an amazing job at really capturing the energy of the day and the heartfelt emotions that my husband and I experienced throughout the day. The photos feel incredibly natural and vivid. The wedding day goes by in what feels like an instant and I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful set of wedding photos to treasure for the rest of my life.

ing and beautiful, her process of helping organize the day and brainstorm shots and ideas was incredibly helpful. The characteristic that stick out to me about Erin was her energy. She was always positive and simply fun! My guests were even raving about Erin! Can't wait to have her shoot more family events soon!
