Overall, I would give my experience with Emma a 4/5. When I initially contacted her over the phone it was about 9 months frmo the wedding. At this time, she was quick to respond a...

nd sent me information regarding next steps. There was a lack of professionalism in setting up the contract and telling me that we needed to book before someone else and saying we had 24 hours to sign when her contract stated a week. Over the next few months she was slower to respond and it took a few follow ups on my end to receive answers. I'm Japanese and I've had my makeup done by other artists and it did not look good. My biggest concern was how my makeup would look for my wedding day. Emma said she promised that she would send me several pictures but she only sent two. Due to the lack of communication, I was so worried that I started practicing my own makeup for the day of. I did a makeup trial with Emma and it melted away all my anxieties. She came to my (now) in-law's home to do the trial 1 week before the wedding (due to my availability). Emma listened to my inspiration photos and offered realistic adjustments. It really eased my anxieties. Emma was professional and punctual on the day of. I felt confident on the day of and I was really happy with the results. The makeup survived the ENTIRE night! I was dancing and sweating but it did not budge! My hair looked great as well!

I'm an event planner and plan weddings multiple times year. I work with vendors everyday. Communication is key, and every vendor knows that. Emma seemed to really struggle to commu...

nicate leading up to the wedding, which I think is absolutely unacceptable. As a paying client, FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF YOUR LIFE, you shouldn't have to be stressing over... OR QUESTIONING.. whether or not your hair and make up artist is going to show up because you haven't heard from them 3 months prior to the wedding month. This creates A LOT of stress for the bride.. Emma did a spectacular job with hair, in terms of the hair staying throughout the entire night. She was on time. She made sure that as you were finishing up your hair, the next girl was ready to ensure that ALL girls were properly taken care. The CONS: - I didn't feel like my hair modeled the images I showed her. Instead, it felt like she had a go-to hairstyle and did that because it was what she was more comfortable doing. - She claimed she had done make up on Asian faces. She offered to send us photos and we asked multiple times, and NEVER received them. This was so we could have a peace of mind that the day-of wouldn't be a disaster, as it has been the case for other events and weddings where we had our make up done. - When she got there, she was upset about the fact that the place mom & pop place didn't have tables set up for the hair and make up artist, claiming that 'she's worked with this place before so they should know'. This is unprofessional and a conversation she should be having OUTSIDE of the wedding party and wedding day if she wants to be set up with the right equipment when she does hair and make up at the venue. - The day of the mock make-up, she tried to change the time. Again, there might be some room for flexibility leading up to the wedding day, but usually there isn't. And the reason for wanting to change the time was because she had to leave really early in the morning to make it to the venue. If that was a concern, she should've noticed what the commute was going to be earlier on - not the day before. - The day of the mock make-up, she tried to lay her straightener and curler on a really nice table in our home. She said it was 'fine' after we asked her to put a towel down or something. We ended up putting down a hot pan mat that we use and ended up melting it. Kind of seemed careless for our house. I personally think she created a lot of unnecessary stress. If you work in the wedding industry, you KNOW to make things run as smoothly as possible. I don't think she's doing it maliciously, but if you're going to work in this industry, you have to understand the commitment it requires.. and there's no cop-out. Hire her at your own risk. ++ I will say that the make up artist she works with a lot of the time, ARTECIA, is amazing. Her energy, her hygiene, and her experience (she's also a esthetician). She NAILED it.

Absolutely loved my experience with Emma for doing my hair and makeup for my wedding. I reached out to her short notice and she was able to accommodate my needs in peak wedding sea...

son. Emma was professional, creative, and was most importantly able to make my vision for how I wanted to look on my wedding day a reality. Emma’s extensive experience gave me great confidence in booking her, and I would recommend her services to all brides!

I have been in weddings where the make up and hair I was paying for just did not feel worth it. The last thing I wanted for myself and my girls on my wedding day was to not feel an...

ything but their best. Let me tell you, they delivered!! I have never felt more beautiful and like myself with full glam than I did on my wedding day, and everyone else’s who got their hair and make up done felt the same way. Cannot recommend them enough for anyone’s special day. Also our hair and make up stayed snatched through tears and drag surfing, so what more could you ask for.

Emma did hair and makeup on my wedding day for me, three of my bridesmaids, and my flower girl. She’s an extremely talented artist, and knows what she’s doing with hair and makeup....

I felt confident and beautiful on my wedding day thanks to her! Working with Emma was truly a wonderful experience; she makes everyone feel comfortable within seconds, is professional, and extremely friendly and helpful when it comes to skin and hair concerns. She gave me a few tips on how to keep my hair wavy throughout the day (I have extremely straight hair that does not hold a curl), which was extremely helpful for me!

Amazing!!! We are still waiting on our wedding photos so I will post that as soon as I receive them. Their services were excellent. I would highly recommend Emma and her team. They...

are dependable and professional. We booked a makeup and hair trial and they worked tiressly both during and after the trial to get the exact look I was going for. We had a few bridesmaids show up late for services and Emma was super flexible to still accommodate everyone. They were able to incorporate all my bridesmaids and mother and mother-in-law. One bridesmaid mentioned that as they were leaving, they noticed she needed a little extra on the way out and they spent extra time with her to make sure she looked perfect. I highly recommend them.

Working with Emma was so great! I reached out to her a couple weeks before my wedding and she pulled through for me... allowing me to book her on a date she originally had schedule...

d off. She was so quick to respond, made it so easy to book, and was really accommodating. I had gotten bridal hair, MIL hair, and 4 bridesmaids hair done. Emma was laughing and joking around with us the whole time which made me so relaxed before my wedding (such an appreciated and priceless experience). I had no idea how to do my hair, but she got really creative and combined a couple different hairstyles that I had been considering and I absolutely loved the result! I would recommend Emma to every bride out there.

Booking Emma to do my hair and makeup was the biggest regret of my wedding. She cancelled within 24 hours of my wedding time via text message, stating a family emergency. Contractu...

ally, there was no action I could take, but I was still sympathetic. As her situation was only an hour and a half away from my wedding location, I offered to move my time to try and accommodate her. At this point, she doubled down, and never even called to discuss options (this was all via text). I was frustrated but understanding, until I saw on instagram that her sister was posting from a pickleball tournament. She had previously stated her grandmother was on her deathbed — how bad could it have been if her sister was more concerned with pickleball than being by her grandmother’s side? Also after talking to the replacements that she had conveniently lined up when she was cancelling on me, they had known about doing the job for my wedding for months. They also received improper instructions from Emma on what I was wanting for my wedding day. Emma never intended on doing my makeup for my wedding, but decided not to say anything until less than 24 hours beforehand. The lack of professionalism and communication leading up to my wedding was also incredibly awful. Both my planner and I were desperately reaching out weeks and days leading up to the wedding just to get brushed off. She finally confirmed a time within the week of the wedding day after numerous methods of communication. Emma does do great work, but is absolutely not worth the stress and hassle of trying to get her to actually do what she commits to and what you pay her to do. She was one of the first vendors I booked after getting engaged because I was so excited to have her do my hair and makeup. I personally know other brides she has cancelled on within days of their wedding, but I took a chance and cannot stress enough to not book her because she is so unreliable. My wedding was local to where she lives, and I cannot imagine how undependable she would be to a location that is of any sort of inconvenience to her. Even to do my trial with her was like pulling teeth to get a time confirmed. Please learn from my mistake and book a hair and makeup artist other than Emma Collins.

Sarah G

I do intend to speak about the utter lack of communication from you, impossibility in reaching you (even days before the wedding) while I had to watch you posting almost daily on y...

our Instagram account, last minute (though I know you couldn't help COVID) cancellation of your services, and the replacements seemingly have no connection to 'Emma Collins Beauty'. I chose you specifically as I wanted YOUR services on my wedding day. It is not the fault of the other hair and makeup artists you sent (I did not choose them), but I was unhappy with my makeup and hair on the day. Unfortunetely hiring Emma Collins Beauty was perhaps the biggest mistake in my wedding planning. Start to finish it was horrible service. To get ahold of her was near impossible, even days before the wedding. Looking to confirm the day-of details, she was completely unresponsive - not answering my multiple emails, then texts, and then phone calls days before my wedding, all while actively posting to Instagram. I debating sending a DM in desperation. This caused an awful amount of stress and anxiety leading up to the day and day of. I was not sure anyone was even going to show up. In the end, she finally texted (unprofessional) me back 2 days before my wedding only to tell me she had covid and would not be coming (she had been posting all weekend before from the Taylor Swift concert). She then sent 2 random hair and makeup artists I did not get to choose or see any of their work prior. Unfortunetely I was not happy with either my hair or make-up - I was paying Emma Collins Beauty prices, but the make-up artist she sent was using Elf beauty products...it was not at all what I had believed I would be getting given the cost. I never recieved any sort of follow-up from Emma, price reduction, nothing... Stay away...

t- she travelled to Savannah for my wedding day and she's based out of Atlanta! Another shout out- due to my own schedule and being from Charlotte, I wasn't able to do a trial ahead of the big day despite Emma's efforts. Due to that conflict, Emma made sure to give me PLENTY of time wedding day to make any adjustments I'd want to my "look." She arrived on time, she arrived well equipped, and she didn't leave until everyone felt their very best. I would sit in her chair every day if I could!

ds for my big day. When Emma finished my hair and makeup and had me take a look at it, I was overcome with emotion, I really can't describe it other than to say I felt like I was in a fairy tale looking at her art. She is AMAZING at what she does!!! Her team was also great with my 11 Bridesmaids and mother. They were extremely efficient in making sure everyone had hair and makeup in a short amount of time, while making sure everyone had the touch ups they needed. They made everyone feel pampered and beautiful. Seriously look no further, and book this team!!!!

d and I eloped quickly. While I did not get the pleasure of receiving Emma’s talent, I can’t sing her praises highly enough. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported leading up to our original date and was on top of everything when we thought we may could reschedule/postpone the wedding. She is so sweet and understanding. I hope to be able to use her and her team for a big party once the world is back to normal and can celebrate my marriage! Thanks, Emma!

Emma literally ghosted me for weeks leading up to my own wedding. Who does that to paying clients!? If you are running your own business, in my opinion, you should be capable of co...

mmunicating efficiently. For over a month Emma didn't bother to reply to any and all of my attempts to contact her; phone & email. Hire an assistant if you can't make time to speak to your existing clients! I work in financial services, so you could say I know a thing or two about professionalism and in my honest opinion, Emma has none. She did offer to make amends by sending something in the mail, but she never replied to my last email (shocker right?) and I haven't received anything. Unless you want to be stressing out and calling the same vendor multiple times until they stop sending your calls to voicemail THREE DAYS BEFORE YOUR WEDDING I would recommend working with a beauty artist other than Emma Collins Beauty.

Emma Collins is an absolute angel. I cannot express how happy I was with her help for both hair and makeup on the day of my wedding! We did a trial several weeks before and she nai...

led the makeup on the first try. She then showed me different hairstyles I could wear on my wedding day - which is why I hired her to stay for the entire day on my wedding. She stayed to help me switch my hair into an updo for my reception and was available to touch up myself, my bridesmaids and pretty much anyone else that asked during her stay. I have been in so many weddings as a bridesmaid where I absolutely hate my hair and makeup - but with Emma, look no further! I had amazing feedback from all of my bridesmaids. Emma is very knowledgeable, not to mention kind and patient. I would absolutely recommend her to any bride-to-be and am personally hoping I have another excuse to get my hair or makeup done again soon so I can have her back!

Lindsey S

Emma did my hair/makeup for my bridals and on my wedding day along with all of my bridesmaids/mom/mother-n-law! I would definitely suggest doing a trial run with her like I did, to...

know specifically what you want for your big day because I changed my entire look after my bridals! She was super nice, accommodating and listened to all of my wants/needs! My only complaints were that communication wasn’t as quick as my other vendors and at first that made me very anxious. She also hired on another girl to help her the day of the wedding (which I’m sure others do this) but the girl hired had never met Emma or me - so I was a little worried her style may not be what my bridesmaids wanted/paid for. However, she did a great job and everything turned out beautifully!!

ng day. I can't thank you enough Emma. The only area worth improving is on communication leading up to the big day. Emma's communication wasn't always prompt and that can make a bride slightly anxious during her planning phase. However, in the end, everything turned up just fine for me and my girls. We loved her art work and delivered exactly what we wanted. Thank you, Emma. Still a high recommendation from me.

was not stressing and that was knowing I would look absolutely beautiful because after my trial and following Emma Collins Beauty on social media I was confident they would achieve the look I envisioned. Emma did hair and make up for myself, my 5 bridesmaids, mom and aunt - everyone looked gorgeous! The hair and make up both stood up to photos in wind and drizzle and lasted all night. They are well worth the money paid and I would definitely hire them again! They will not disappoint!

ns regarding pricing and services in a timely matter, and was always extremely friendly and accommodating. She even helped me with a stylish question regarding my hair. On the day of the wedding, Emma and Laureni arrived about 30 minutes early, which was awesome, and set the appointment off to a great start. I was a nervous wreck and they were able to calm my nerves. They were both so talented and clearly knew exactly what they were doing, which also help put my mind at ease. Emma did a fantastic job with my hair and Lauren did the best makeup on me that I have ever seen in my life. Eyelashes, airbrush, and shadow was 100% flawless. Both my hair and makeup lasted all day. They were both just really cool people. Loved getting to know them, I felt like I wanted to even invite them to my wedding, that's how cool they were. Thanks ladies for making my day so special! -Arden(Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island wedding 7-8-17)

modating and confident about what she does. I booked her for my best friends wedding reception ( April 2017) and my wedding (October 2017) we had hair and make up done in April and couldn't have been happier. I have used various "glam squads" throughout the country and consider myself more particular. Emma and her team walked into the room and immediately understood what we were looking for and created it. They had a schedule to keep us on time ( which I need) they were friendly, caring and beyond talented!! Experts in all areas of hair and make-up. Since April I have had the privilege to work with them 2 more times including my wedding. I absolutely couldn't have been happier or found anyone more qualified. Thank you to Emma and her team. They not only made me look beautiful but they made feel beautiful!! One million thanks to Emma Collins Beauty!!!

Emma is very organized and kept in constant contact with me to make sure my day went perfect. Stop searching and book with Emma Collins Beauty for your perfect wedding day look!!

oked amazing! I got so many compliments all night. She knows exactly what colors to use to make your eyes pop and look gorgeous on your wedding day. I also had a few tears fall on my wedding day and you couldn't even tell. My makeup still looked amazing even after crying happy tears. It also lasted all night and I looked just as good at the end as the beginning. If you want someone who has a passion for hair and makeup and knows what she is doing then use Emma Collins Beauty you will not be disappointed! The professionalism, talent, and love for what she does shines through!

I wish I had more special occasions so I could hire Emma again! I hired her to do bridesmaids, moms, and me for my wedding and had a terrific experience with her. I felt Emma was m...

iles more talented than virtually any other hair and makeup artist I looked at. I really wanted a timeless, classic style that made me look like myself, and she did it beautifully, choosing the perfect colors to complement my complexion. I was so impressed by her work on the bridesmaids and moms too, many of whom were non-makeup-wearers but were nonetheless really happy with the results — she definitely did not do a cookie-cutter style for everyone but rather figured out a look that worked for each person individually, and her work on more mature skin also looked stellar. She brought tons of lipstick samplers for the girls to take with them and left one of my bridesmaids with rice paper blotting sheets to keep me from getting shiny throughout the day. Emma is a joy to work with on the day-of. She is totally reliable and has a great, laid-back personality. Emma is the definition of modern class!

Finding Emma Collins Beauty was a key moment during my engagement period. I strongly recommend this company! I would like to highlight a few points: Responsiveness, Emma responded...

to every email of mine within 24 hours, if not within the hour. Your questions will be answered promptly and thoroughly. I am convinced of their expertise, and I am beyond grateful I went with Emma. I don't usually get my make-up done because I don't trust others to know my face well enough, but Emma blew me away. She made my make-up so good, and I still looked like myself. The right features were highlighted, and the make-up stayed on all day/night. Outstanding service for affordable rates! I will recommend Emma Collins Beauty to all future brides I know, and would do the same for anyone reading this review!

If you are looking for a relaxing beauty experience for your wedding day, keep shopping. Emma Collins Beauty is not for you. We all know this can be a very stressful day and there ...

is no telling what could possibly go wrong but we hope to have a good time with our favorite ladies even if some relative is getting crazy. Unfortunately, Emma Collins will only contribute to the chaotic stress, and then over charge you for it. Her so called passion for her work was far from evident on this date. I should say that Emma's staff was early, kind, and did excellent work. She on the other hand was unprofessional and rude to our bride. We had scheduled 6 people to get hair and make-up done with a $500 min at $65 per make up, $65 per hair, and $20 for lashes, etc. etc.per the contract with the bride. Although hair and make up crew were early and we were told grabbing a coffee, etc. was fine and we had plenty of time to get started and we ultimately finished well above schedule with 7 people, Emma was rude to us for not all being ready to start right away. We had a staggered call intentionally to avoid over crowding the room but we did have a couple people running behind and 1 no show. Instead of being kind and considerate to an already stressed bride. Emma told THE BRIDE ON HER WEDDING DAY that if someone doesn't take the place of that person who didn't show up, SHE WOULD HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL. Even with that person not showing up, the contract had 6 people involved and 6 people were there! Emma was then told by a bridesmaid that the issue would be resolved and that she would be paid the amount in full one way or another. Apparently this was not good enough for Emma and she took the bride into the bathroom alone to harass her about the contract ON HER WEDDING DAY even though she was told she would get her money. In addition to her rude nature to the bride, she herself seemed to be unclear on the contract she was so rudely trying to enforce. She had no idea who was actually on the list and manipulated one of our people into getting her hair done that hadn't planned on it and wasn't on the list. The missing spot was filled by 2 people because of Emma's aggressive behavior. Good move to add some more cash to your day. All of our hair and makeup was completely well ahead schedule even with our own family hiccups. However, we were all overcharged by at least $20. When a complaint was given, Emma began blaming the bride for all of the issues and for not knowing the contract, even though her verse of the contract was inaccurate and we have it on file. Emma claimed to rectify this with everyone but only did so with the person that complained about her and no one else. This experience was disastrous and unprofessional and I would not recommend her to anyone. Please find someone else for your hair and makeup needs. Let your drunk aunt be the crazy, embarrassing one, not your beauty vendor.

She went above and beyond what any other hair and makeup artist was willing to do to accommodate me. hanks to her and her team! Emma is amazingly talented, so much fun to work with, will listen to your ideas and any concerns you have, and turn them into your dream hair and make-up. She also knows what works, and will discuss options to ensure that you end up with a flawless look that will stay all day and all night! My hair and make-up looked as good at the end of the night as when she finished it that morning. Her team is amazing as well, making all of my bridesmaids, my mom and my mother-in-law look fantastic. I highly recommend working with Emma Collins Beauty for wedding day hair and make-up. Thank you Emma!

tion to detail, I could tell that she truly cared as if she were doing her OWN makeup and hair for her OWN wedding. She's also very flexible -- I changed a few things on my wedding day that were not practiced during my trial run, and she totally ran with it and made it amazing. If you're thinking about skimping on a hair/makeup artist for your wedding day - DON'T! Professional hair and makeup versus DIY hair and makeup are like night and day. I didn't know it was possible to feel as beautiful as I felt on my wedding day, and it's all thanks to Emma! I HIGHLY recommend her!

Yall. There is no better hair and makeup artist than Emma! She has done my hair and makeup for photo shoots and my wedding, and I have never felt more beautiful in my entire life. ...

She took my fumbling explanation of what I wanted and turned it into something even better than I imagined. Not only does she make you look beautiful, but she makes you feel beautiful, calm and happy. Her energy and demeanor while she is working truly adds the the "experience". She also did my bridesmaids hair and they all looked beyond amazing! She is on time and on point and if you want the best, hire her! But do it in advance cause I have a feeling she is going to be booked booked booked soon!!!

When I reflect on my wedding day, I get butterflies all over again thinking about the magic Emma Collins made on my hair and make-up. It was like love at first "backcomb" when we m...

et during the hair trial and that moment solidified that I was in the perfect hands to make my wedding dream look come true! Emma arrived on November 14th early, excited and overly prepared with every quality product and tool ready to go. She was extremely professional, never overlooked any detail and truly took her time to make sure the look was perfect. She allowed me to "assist" and interact as my hair was carefully placed in my vintage-style updo... always wanting to please and make sure I was happy. The make-up... FLAWLESS. She had recommended a look based on the hair we decided on and my dress / accessories to tie the entire look together... to say I felt like I was ready for a couture photo shoot was an understatement. Emma's vision for my make-up was more than I could have hoped for and more. She uses airbrush and contour techniques that bring out your features and it is long lasting, all day and into the night! In short, Emma Collins is a true artist. I have never felt so beautiful and I am beyond grateful to have had her by my side on the most special day of my life (so far!) where I married the man of my dreams. If you are considering other artists for your special day, look no farther than Emma Collins Beauty!

Emma is WONDERFUL! My husband and I planned our wedding from Texas, and she went out of her way to make sure I was able to schedule a makeup trial on a date and time that worked fo...

r me. I'm normally the type of person who doesn't speak up about what I dislike, as I'm afraid of hurting the stylist's feelings. Emma encouraged me to be frank with her and I was able to come home feeling extremely confident that she was the right fit. My previous experiences with wedding makeup artists were quite dissatisfying, but I knew this would be different. We communicated often and she had me send her many photos of what I wanted so that she could reference them on the day of. I have never felt as beautiful as I did on the day of my wedding! Not only is she a true artist, she is an astute business woman who ensures that her clients leave her chair feeling confident and pleased with her work. My bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning and we all wish that Emma would move to Houston so we could use her services anytime we want!
