We initially hired Matt Trievet (owner of “Ember Studios”) for a 6-minute reel of the wedding. Matt later convinced us to pay extra money totaling $3,500 for both the wedding reel...
, live streaming & filming of both the ceremony and reception. Ultimately Matt did not perform all the half of the services and refuses to refund me. He only did the 6-minute reel and did not do the live streaming and did a poor job without adequate sound on the filming of the ceremony. He refuses to even return my call. He declines to do what anyone with integrity would do which is discount the price for services that were not performed. Matt’s also appearing to be dishonest regarding his excuses as validated by his co-worker Isaac AND the venue.
He declines to do what anyone with integrity would do which is discount the price for services that were not performed.
Matt convinced us that he would use a special kind of amazing technology partnering with his friend Isaac that would incorporate live streaming of both the ceremony and reception. Matt told us that it would include interviewing wedding participants during the wedding reception for all of our international family to enjoy and feel a part of the reception. On the day of the wedding to our dismay Matt did not live stream the reception at all.
His excuse was that he found out that there was no internet for the venue on the day of the wedding and he spent $600 on a Verizon hotspot. After my own investigation, however, speaking to Isaac (Matts contracted worker) AND the venue it was discovered that Ember Studios was informed well in advance of any issues with internet and Matt did not tell me about it. Additionally, Isaac told me that he was informed THE DAY OF THE WEDDING that the plan was to film a live stream of both the reception and ceremony suggesting Matt scammed us out of ~ $1,500.
Additionally On the wedding day Ember studios supplied only one lapel mic hence there was NO SOUND for the 2nd officiant for the recording of the ceremony despite correspondence with Matt and his colleagues’ multiple times before the event helping them get in touch with the venue to ensure they had what they needed including two lapel mics needed for our two officiants. He declines to do what anyone with integrity would do which is discount the price for services that were not performed. Matt’s also appearing to be dishonest regarding his excuses as validated by Isaac and the venue. Matt also is refusing to answer my calls to see if you he can recoup the audio from our ceremony to make the ceremony video improved.
We hired Ember Studios based off the positive reviews we saw on Wedding Wire and other wedding websites and how responsive they were to getting our business. Our friend had used th...
em for her wedding and had actually cautioned against them. We had a few conversations with Matt and he convinced us otherwise. The experience was positive through the wedding. In the contract, all images, videos, and hard drives were promised to us 30 days after the wedding. Here we are 218 days after our wedding with images. videos, and hard drives missing. We have been given every excuse in the book ranging from being busy to a car getting broken into and laptops being damaged to even Matt starting another venture which has been taking more of his time. Furthermore the communication has been abhorrent. It is only after repeated phone calls, texts, and emails that we get a response. When we had asked about where our videos were one of the representatives of the company asked us who our videographer was from their firm. In each of our lives neither of us has experienced such blatant fraud and lying. Ember Studios required 100% payment upfront. Ember Studios was extremely responsive when they wanted our business but when they had all their money and we upheld our part of the deal they have failed miserably. It is quite clear that they have no incentive to fix this situation and we have tried everything. It's a shame that someone's dishonesty, lies, and unethical business practices can put a damper on a special day. We have been more than patient with them constantly giving them the benefit of the doubt but this has gone on too long. Our photos are now delayed by 6 months past the promise date. This is the worst customer service experience we have ever experienced and hopefully no one will go through this. These people have taken our money and run with it. At this point we are even questioning whether the missing photos even exist. We put our trust in them which they have so clearly violated.
Matt was the photographer at out wedding, and let me just say he was THE BEST!! I was really worried about how I would look in front of the camera, and he told me the quality of th...
e photos was on him, and that as long as we relaxed into what he asked us to do, our photos would turn out great. AND THEY TURNED OUT PERFECT!!
I am giving this 5 star review based on the following:
Organization:
Matt made notes in his calendar about what we asked for and followed our instructions to a T.
Quality:
Our wedding pictures turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Matt was so creative, and the diversity of images he took is truly impressive.
Personality:
I was very... insecure in front of the camera, and Matt was so kind, and he really helped me feel at easy to have my picture taken. So If you are someone who feels that way, I can't recommend Ember Studio enough.
WOW!!! I can't recommend Ember Studio enough. Matt was our photographer and our images turned out to be SO amazing. Matt was professional, and organized. He knocked out our family ...
photos in under 20 minutes, dealt with so many challenging situations with last minute timeline changes.
He knew how to stay calm and lead the wedding day when I was really stressed at certain points. He is everything you need in a wedding photographer!
Hire these guys!! you won't be disappointed!!
We had the best time at our wedding!! Thank you to Matt who captured all of our special moments for us to always cherish! We are forever grateful and highly recommend Ember Studio ...
if you are looking for professional photographers who put you at ease and let your day just flow! Thank you so much for the absolutely stunning photos and a perfect day!!! P.S. I had to make a rain call earlier in the day and didn't know what to do - Matt was right there and talked me through the decision...those are the kind of people you need in your court on wedding day!
I can not recommend Ember Studio enough. Matt was just amazing. He made my wedding day flow so smoothly. He was kind and easy to work with, we got our photos earlier than expected,...
and they are STUNNING!! You can’t go wrong working with Ember Studio thank you Matt for making our day so special.
Ember Studio was truly amazing to work with. We postponed our original wedding was scheduled for May 2nd and Tracy worked with us to reschedule for September. Mike and Aubrey were ...
my photographers for they day and I couldn't have asked for a better duo. We are not posing professionals in any way shape or form and Mike directed us to ensure our photos came out beautiful. Mike's knowledge about lighting is spot on! I absolutely recommend Ember Studio for all photography needs. They are amazing, talented, easy to work with and affordable.
The year of 2020 was HUGE! Especially that special date of 10/10/20. We wanted to make sure we got Ember Studio so we booked 2 years before our wedding! I had the honor of working ...
with Mike Moon and another local photographer in NC. Mike is a man of his craft. He knows his way in and around a camera and has no problem explaining why he does certain things. We got married at this beautiful gothic/medieval castle and his photos went harmonious with our theme. My photos were stunning. So many of my family members and friends complimented the photo quality. They even said they talked to Mike at the wedding and were so interested in his knowledge. I even got Mike to take a fireball shot with me because my bridesmaid had gone MIA. Haha! It was a great day that I will be able to live through in my photos for years to come!
If you work with Ember Photographers, you will be working with the best photography team in Atlanta and possibly the entire US. I feel so lucky to have found and worked with them, ...
because my wedding pictures are STUNNING. I cannot believe these pictures are mine! From start to finish, they were a pleasure to work with, such professionals, and really helped come up with ideas to make not just the pictures beautiful, but the memories of taking them priceless. They are super creative so you won't end up with the boring, stiff, contrived photos that seem to be everywhere. I have the most unique images that capture scenery and emotion. The lighting, composition, angles, and most importantly the stories that the photos tell are all beyond what is expected of wedding photography. They are true artists. I felt so at ease working with them on the day of and didn't worry about not capturing certain moments or people. While at work, Ember photographers take control and direct well when in public or with large group and blend in while taking pictures of more intimate moments. They are all so personable and will make everyone comfortable. My wedding pictures make my family and me so incredibly happy and we cannot thank Ember enough!!
Ember Studio did both our engagement and wedding photos. We had the honor of having both Mike and Matt take our engagement photos and they turned out beautiful. Our wedding photos ...
were taken by Matt and they surpassed our expectations. Matt has a amazing energy and makes the entire process so simple and fun. He helped pose us and guide us through every photo and the results were breathtaking. Everyone I have been contact with at Ember (Mike, Tracy and Matt) have been so kind and willing to help how ever they can. I could not have found a better company to go with for our photos.

er during our wedding. We got hundreds of gorgeous pictures back and we couldn't be any happier. I 100% recommend them to any bride or groom looking for a photographer for their special day!
Wow!! Mike and Evan were more than we ever could have dreamed of for our wedding photographers. They really listened to our vision, enjoyed every minute of the day with us and caug...
ht every special moment, and of course gave us photos that we will treasure forever. Being a COVID bride, I wasn’t sure how our photos would turn out- we ended up having a 50 person wedding in my parents’ front yard- but every photo looks like a dreamy venue from a fairytale!!! To say the least, Ember studios made all of my wedding photo dreams come true, even in the craziest of circumstances. They made me, my husband, my family, and all of our guests feel special, and they gave us a day and pictures we will treasure forever! Thank you with all our hearts!!
Would give a thousand stars if I could! Ember studio gave us the most incredible pictures for our wedding and our engagement. Mike Moon was the principal photographer on both occas...
ions, and it was really wonderful getting to know him before the big day. He made the process very fun and exciting! My now husband and I had never had professional photos done before and were initially nervous about being in front of the camera, but Mike made it seem so comfortable and natural. He captured the real us, and captured the spirit of our wedding perfectly. Not only were the pictures incredible but he got the final edits back to us faster than we expected. So beyond happy with Ember Studios! Thank you guys so much for everything!!
Ember was AMAZING to work with! From working with Tracy, Ember’s Wedding Consultant, weeks before the wedding to working with Mike Moon as our photographer, the experience was awes...
ome. We had the pleasure of working with Mike and we couldn’t have been happier with him. We both feel very awkward being photographed and Mike made us feel very comfortable and natural in front of the camera. To our surprise, he made the process a lot of fun! Not only do we absolutely love the photos, we have received so much positive feedback from friends/family expressing how gorgeous they are. We couldn’t be happier with the way that the photos turned out!
We used Ember Studio for our wedding photography and are completely blown away by the magic and happiness captured in all of our photos! I can be quite picky when it comes to liki...
ng photos of myself so I was mildly concerned that we would get the photos back and I would not like the ones of myself. However, it was the complete opposite and we love every single photo that we received.
Both Sydney and Inga were a dream to work with. We also communicated with Mike prior to the wedding for the planning and he was wonderful to work with as well! The team suggested a few changes to our timeline (i.e. doing a first look, taking family and wedding party photos before the ceremony) which led to us having much more time to spend with our family and friends at the ceremony which we really appreciated. We had a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony and Sydney and Inga were able to get all of our couples photos done within about 40 minutes after the ceremony (that also included about 10-15 minutes of my husband and I taking a break to eat some tapas!).
As for the reception, we hardly even noticed the continuous pictures that Sydney and Inga were capturing and we were blown away by the candid awesomeness in all of the final photos! There were a lot of great shots of family and friends that we will cherish forever. Highly recommend Ember Studio as their professionalism and quality are unmatched!
Mike and Rachel were absolutely amazing. The whole day went by so fast, I couldn't believe it. They both knew the venue so well and where the best pictures would be. Rachel took me...
while Mike took my husband and they both came up with the most amazing and dramatic photos I had ever seen.
They both made the whole process so easy and effortless. At first, I felt awkward doing the poses, etc, but once Rachel showed me a couple of the pictures on her camera, I knew they had positioned me perfectly! Their knowledge of lighting and posing did not detour them from the dark mansion we were in. There was not a lot of natural light in the areas we were working in, but they both made it look as though there was natural light pouring in from everywhere.
Mike and Rachel also did a stunning job with the family pictures. They both knew who they wanted next and in what order. They were so organized it was amazing. I had been very worried about how they were going to keep with the timeline, having the whole family there and getting them into their spots. But they did it perfectly.
This was honestly the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life. Everything was so organized and effortless. We had an amazing time with both Mike and Rachel. They would both be my first recommendation as photographers without a doubt.
I recently attended my son's wedding and the photographers Mike and Rachel were absolutely wonderful. Mike was very accommodating for me as the mother of the groom wanting a few e...
xtra family photos. He was familiar with the venue and picked the most beautiful places for the family pictures of the wedding. The photos that he did of my son his lovely wife were so gorgeous, he did some "dramatic" photos of the bride and the groom separately and I received so many compliments every time I show them off!!! Wow! These are the best photos ever! I highly recommend Mike and Rachel. You will be very pleased with them. I can't wait to print some off for Christmas gifts!

and the photos turned out so, so great. I work in the wedding industry so I have seen my share of photographers, none compare to the professionalism, quality, and personality of the team.
It is one thing to watch couples have their pictures taken, but when we started getting our first look and portraits done, I realized I had no idea how to pose or what to do, Mike and Rachel saw my problem and told us exactly what to do and how to pose. And we couldn't be happier with how they turned out!
Their knowledge, experience of lighting, and composition are absolutely out of this world. Our first look was 3 hours before sunset, and they made it look as if the sun was pouring through the windows behind us, inside a dark Mansion. Mike even put his tripod into a water fountain to get the light *just* where he needed it.
We received our sneak peek the very next day, and the entire album so much faster than we thought too! They were very prompt on communication too, emails and texts all answered very quickly, we knew exactly the timeline we had and Mike and Rachel made sure to keep us all on track on day-of. They even got shots I didn't know I wanted.
If you want world-class photographers for your wedding day, I wouldn't recommend anyone else except Ember Studio's. (Make sure you get Rachel.)
Mike Moon's fabulous portfolio was the reason my photographer daughter chose him to shoot her wedding photos. He has an incredible eye and does amazing photography. It poured rai...
n the day of my daughter's wedding and she was so upset since she thought that she would not be able to get the outdoor photos she wanted at her beautiful venue. Between Mike, and his amazing assistant photographer, Rachel, they were able to manipulate umbrellas and drone flashes to keep my daughter and her groom dry AND create the illusion of sunlight coming into the photo behind them. Not only did she get her outdoor photographs, but they are also incredible works of art. Several folks have already told me that the photographer needs to send the photos to a magazine because they are so amazing. As the mother of the bride, Mike and Rachel were easy to work with and willing to take the photos that I wanted of family, etc as well. Call Mike Moon of Ember Studios for your wedding. I promise that you won't be sorry.
Party Time Productions loves Ember Studio!! As wedding DJs, we have the opportunity to work with many different photographers. Mike and Matt at Ember are amazing at what they do!...
Very professional, great to work with, and extremely talented. We highly recommend Ember Studio for any bride-to-be!
If you want to have the best wedding photos, you need to book Ember Studio. Matt and Mike are so incredibly talented. Here is why they got 5 stars from me (if I could give them ...
a whole galaxy of stars I would): 1) THE PHOTOS ARE AMAZING. There was this one shot that we took that required all four members of the Ember team helping me get through some ferns and rocks to reach a spot near a waterfall and the outcome of that was EPIC. 2) They are so nice. On the wedding day you will be around your photography team more than you're even around your bridesmaids so it is really nice to be surrounded by calm, cool people who are easy going and nice to you and your family. 3) They danced while they took shots of people dancing at the reception. This made people feel comfortable being photographed dancing and it also made me really happy because they are fun people who bring good energy into the space. 4) They are SO FOCUSED and professional and try and care about giving you the best wedding pictures. Listening to them communicate with each other and observing their creative process is so interesting. You can tell they are in their element and you know that magic is happening. 5) They listen to the bride. If I wanted a shot, they took it. If I wasn't feeling something, they listened and switched to another idea. At one point we were all rushing to the reception but I saw a chandelier I really wanted to stop and take a photo with and literally they stopped everything and got me the shot I wanted. Matt and Mike are amazing and I would highly recommend them. I cannot wait to see the rest of my photos and my video. I will note that I also hired Ember for my wedding video and John valentine was easy to work with and so nice. I will update this post with more info about the video when I see it.

ng about these guys is they so passionate about their work - and it shows! (https://events.emberwed.com/dombek-froese/) They work together and bounce ideas off of each other in order to get fantastic shots. We loved how they would explain to us what they were doing and why they were doing it. Since my husband and I have no clue about photography, we really appreciated them explaining everything to us.
We also appreciated how Mike & Matt made sure to get us all the shots we wanted. At the church following our ceremony, we only had 15 minutes for family photos (> 100 people!) and Mike did a great job of organizing all our guests to make sure we got all those photos. Following our ceremony, we shot all around Atlanta, including Piedmont Park and Jackson Street Bridge.
The day you get married is a LONG DAY, and it was 95 degrees in Atlanta on ours! At one point my new hubby was worn out and getting tired of the heat and photos. But Mike knew there were more shots we would want on our special day, so he encouraged us to keep going. After a quick break to freshen up, Mike kept us going to shoot individual portraits, photos with all of our wedding party, and shots at our venue. We are now so grateful for that! I We cannot recommend Ember Studios enough!
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

These photos absolutely blew us away!!! Mike Moon & Matt were our photographers & they just plain killed it. There were almost 400 photos that went into our "love / favorites" category. Our biggest problem so far has been narrowing down the pictures and deciding what to post because we truly love them all!!! <3
Another Vendor threw us off schedule but somehow Ember got us back on schedule, worked quickly, professionally and managed to pull off so much more, in terms of quality, than we could have ever imagined for our wedding photos!!
I really could go on and on but instead I'll let the work speak for itself. Check out our favorites here:

Thanks Mike & Matt!

ver a year out for my wedding this past month. About 4 months before my wedding, I was called and told that Mike Moon was still shooting my wedding but that he is now a part of Ember Studio. This was fine with me, because after looking at the Ember portfolio, I was even more impressed! The transition was easy, as everyone from both companies stayed in touch. The wedding got closer and Mike Moon was pretty easy to get in touch with and we talked through the logistics of the wedding day. Then 2 days before my wedding day, we got a call from Mike. He had suffered a devastating loss and would not be making it to my wedding. He felt awful as he has not missed a wedding in over 12 years, but he assured me that he would take care of me. He sent Inga Finch and Ben to our wedding and we could not have been happier! They were both super professional, kind, and got SO MANY GREAT photos! Mike Moon edited the photos himself and the quality turned out perfect! The Ember Studio look is timeless and beautiful. I am in love with how our photos turned out! I got married on one of the busiest wedding days of the year, so I'm sure they had very limited options with this emergency, but everything still turned out perfect. I don't know what had to be shuffled around behind the scenes, but Ember Studio, Mike Moon, and Inga Finch made it work and I am so grateful!
Mike and Matt were incredible! The quality of their pictures is top notch and they were able to get some amazing shots, even though it was pouring rain our entire wedding day. We e...
specially loved that they turned around over 500 pictures to us only 2 weeks after our wedding!
They both were remarkably inconspicuous during the reception but managed to capture a lot of really amazing candid moments and action shots. I was especially impressed with their lighting on the dark dance floor - the pictures showed everyone clearly without making it look like it was lit up by a bright flash. The "Moon" lighting is really cool and resulted in some really beautiful pictures of the rain at night. I also really appreciated that they didn't take too much time on the posed pictures, allowing us to enjoy the maximum time with our guests but also still capturing every picture we wanted.
One small comment we did have was that prior to the wedding, the communication was a bit lacking. We had received an email confirming that they would call within 2 weeks of the wedding date, but still hadn't heard from them about 1 week before. It took about 2 days to get a hold of Mike, during which I stressed out way more than I should have. I imagine the lapse in communication was likely due to the transition from Mike Moon Studios to Ember Studios, and once we did get a hold of Mike he was able to assure us immediately that all was set, so no harm done at all.
Overall, Mike and Matt definitely earned their five stars. They were really fun to have around and produced excellent pictures in a very short amount of time. We would highly recommend them!

op complimenting them at our after party after the wedding. They were wonderful and easy to work with, and captured our complete joy on that day. They are the ABSOLUTE best!! We don't have a single complaint. They are professional and their work is flawless. And they got the photos to us so quickly! Thank you, Ember Studios!!! You made our day that much more magical!
ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! Not only do my husband and I feel that way about our wedding photos, but our family and friends do as well. We STILL are receiving compliments on our pictures ...
and how incredibly gorgeous they are. Getting a package deal of Mike and Matt makes you feel so confident in your choice. Both men work together to come up with poses and locations and ideas so that you don't have to worry about showing them your pinterest board (HUGE PLUS!- no one wants to do the same thing everyone else is doing!) You get unique shots from every angle possible. Mike would lay on the wet ground to get the perfect angle. You will not regret booking them! You have NOTHING to worry about which is HUGE on the big day! I am very Type A and like to be in control and I felt very comfortable letting these two take the wheel on what I consider to the the most important part of the day besides the vows and family/friend time. You will not be disappointed in the direction and creativity of this team! I would use them over and over and over and over again!

I would definitely suggest hiring them because you will get what you pay for and more. Thanks, Mike and Matt!!!! I will never forget this day and a lot is because of you two.

s and he achieved that amazingly. He was super laid back with some anxious bridesmaids, mothers and myself! Since my husband and I came from Europe from our wedding, we also had Matt come along to our rehearsal dinner and he captured the evening perfectly of friends and family meeting from afar. We are not a great couple on cameras and matt made us look so wonderful! I never expected to feel so much emotion while looking at these photos. I would hire Matt over and over again. he was outstanding and so reasonably priced for his quality of photos! I couldn't have asked for anything better.
Matt did an amazing job at our wedding and engagement shoot! He was adventurous and up for doing all sorts of interesting shots (swinging, wading in a river, photo-bombed by Acro Y...
oga, etc). He was very easy to get along with, and generally a great personality to be working with on your wedding day and before.
While other photographers were strict on timing and the exact hours, Matt was flexible and knew what it took to get good shots. He came early on our wedding day to check out the location and find great backgrounds to get pictures. We ended up slightly adjusting the time of our ceremony to account for weather, and Matt had no problem making it all work.
He was also very speedy in getting our pictures back to us, so would 10/10 recommend!
Matt is such a cool guy to have shoot your wedding. I was very pleased to receive our photos and remember the day just like it was happening again. They are all so awesome.

Don''t hesitate on choosing Matt for your event!! We are truly blessed he was our photographer on our special day! Thank you so much Matt!

work with during the planning stages, and was creative, diligent, and on the ball during our events. Matt confidently helped us organize family for after-wedding pictures (no easy feat with 40+ people in some shots) and was in all the right places to get great shots the entire day. And lastly, the quality of his work was excellent - Matt definitely has an eye for perspective and emotion! We have loved going back through all the shots to find our favorites, but it has taken a looooooong time because there are so many great photos. Kudos to you Matt; thanks for being a huge part of our wedding!
