I could reach out anytime I had questions about anything. Every one of our guests couldn't believe how beautiful the venue is and how delicious the food was. Nichole our wedding coordinator was out of this world. They all went above and beyond to make our day spectacular. Truly the best experience!

space didn’t feel like over kill for our smaller guest count. When we arrived the day before our wedding we were blown away with all the color and liveliness in the garden! It was absolutely beautiful! The property is well taken care of (with the exception of the parking lot that looked like it had not been mowed all season) and has plenty of photo backdrops. The bridal suite and groom’s quarters were perfect spaces to get ready. We had just over 50 guests (7 round tables) and felt it was a good balance for the size of the room, I couldn’t imagine 100 guests would fit comfortably.  We would certainly recommend Elizabeth Furnace for a wedding venue and hope we will return back as guests in the future!

! We worked with Abby and Nichole and they were great about answering a million questions! Nichole was on-site for the day of the wedding as well as our rehearsal. She didn't miss a single detail and made sure our ceremony, cocktail, and reception went smoothly. We felt well cared for for the entire day! The food was also exceptional- people went out of their way to tell us how good it was. The entire staff was also incredibly kind and attentive. Everything was better than expected. This place is a true gem!

nd it - it is a gorgeous property!! We had a cocktail hour in the gardens, and the ceremony was in the charcoal barn (because of weather), but it’s a super cool setting in there! And our reception with live music in the “old stables” building was perfect. Each particular spot on the grounds is as nice as the other - all very well done with modern amenities, while maintaining the historic architecture and feel of the entire place.. Our guests loved the place, everything was beyond our expectations! Speaking of exceeding our expectations, Abby and the team at the JDK group were phenomenal. We did a small wedding and only had two months to prepare due to a significant family health issue. So we had crazy deadlines putting things together, and Abby and the JDK team were with us every step of the way! One thing we especially loved about JDK was the quality of the catering. Absolutely phenomenal. We had a lot of wonderful comments from the guests about how much they loved the variety and the creativity of the selections we chose. The JDK chefs get all the credit on that one! We highly recommend Abby and the JDK team, and the Elizabeth Furnace Venue. It made for an incredible experience and memorable day for all!

thoughtfully restoring and enhancing the grounds. We enjoyed having exclusive use of the buildings and acreage for our entire wedding day. A key factor in our decision making was the presence of legitimate outdoor and indoor options for the ceremony; we planned for an outdoor ceremony in the gardens (and the weather cooperated!), but having the charcoal barn as an indoor backup was a huge stress reliever, and it's so appealing in its own right that it doesn't feel like a runner-up option by any means. Pricing is as you might expect for a venue of this caliber, but honestly is in line with, or even slightly less than, other popular options in the region. Our experience working with the exclusive venue managers (JDK Group) was positive and befitting of the high-end nature of the property.

pace is also incredibly well maintained and thoughtfully laid out, making for a smooth experience for both guests and vendors. We couldn’t imagine a more picturesque setting for our wedding.

The food was absolutely phenomenal—our guests raved about it repeatedly and so far has been the best food we have had at any wedding we attended. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The staff was extremely attentive and caring, helping our guests with anything they needed. They stationed a staff member specifically for us to make sure we had drinks and food whenever we needed them and one staff member even removed her own earring back to lend to the mother of the bride when she lost one of hers. We could not have had a better catering and planning staff at our wedding.

a few hiccups with the JDK Group and our coordinator, Andrea. Andrea was friendly but it always felt like we were bothering her and that she would rather be doing something else. We also did a custom menu and Chef Jay suggested having my dad come in to do a tasting for the food since he provided the recipes. I suppose I should've triple checked, but since Chef Jay and Andrea both said the second tasting would include my dad, I didn't think to email to verify there would be room for him. They were completely surprised when he showed up, granted - they made it work and everything was delicious but it made me nervous. One important part of our food was my dad's recipe for Thai Basil Chicken that was completely forgotten about. I did email Andrea a few times to verify we were having it but we did not get anything near that recipe. Chef Jay did apologize to my husband and everything else was perfect but it was disappointing since we did pay for it and had it promised to us. We also had issues with the bar and not making one of our signature drinks properly until my husband asked Andrea about it. We did hire a third party coordinator to help with the day, but we didn't see Andrea really past getting our main courses. I'm not sure if that's typical, but I would think checking in with the couple would be standard before leaving. I would definitely recommend getting a third party coordinator for day of. The servers and additional staff were amazing though and everyone complimented on how nice they all were and friendly. JDK has great support staff, but the front end could use some work. I struggle with the star rating because our wedding was perfect minus these minor hiccups but want to be sure that future couples are aware of all types of experiences.

urnace was a wonderful historical site that has been transformed into an event/ wedding venue that was chosen for our daughter’s wedding. The property is set up for indoor as well as outdoor activities to meet your needs. Our daughter’s wedding used the indoor Charcoal Barn with its unique stone/woodwork as the ceremony room. A cocktail hour was held in the garden area where guests mingled until dinner was served. Dinner was served in the converted stables which were uniquely transformed to a reception hall. It was obvious the owner was patient, took his time, and used vision to the property to mix history with modern needs. The JDK Group was chosen by the property owner to assist groups with planning their event. We were contacted by an event coordinator who assisted our daughter and son-in-law with food selections, table decorations/place settings, flower arrangements, guest list spreadsheet, and a timeline schedule. The coordinator was on site for the wedding to ensure the schedule went smoothly. This service was invaluable as far as making a lot of the wedding planning much easier and less stressful. On the wedding day, the JDK team was superb with set-up in the ceremony room, garden area, and reception room. The JDK team was friendly and attentive to the needs of guests and the wedding party demonstrating their high level of customer service. Many guests complimented the food that was served. The quality and taste of our selections was noticed and feedback by family and guests stated it was delicious and the best wedding meal they ever experienced. This team worked with precision allowing us to relax and enjoy this celebration. Our families and guests thank Elizabeth Furnace and the JDK Group for a most memorable evening and would highly recommend this venue for special events and weddings. Jim & Jennifer Martin

While the tiered garden was our first choice for the ceremony, we had to pivot to the indoor option (the Charcoal Barn) at the last minute due to rain that just wouldn't let up (until a little bit after the ceremony, go figure!), but it was not a bad move at all. It was such an amazing and beautiful space, and everything worked out perfectly! The JDK Group made our day run smoothly, and man... the food... our guests STILL talk about the food when we reminisce about the wedding. It was DELICIOUS. At the end of the day, Elizabeth Furnace is a fantastic venue, and we do not regret our choice to have our wedding there. Thanks to the whole team for making our day special.

worked with was not the most responsive. If I did not have a wedding coordinator of my own, the day of the wedding would have been a little disorganized. It ended up thundering during our ceremony and JDK could have moved the tables to a more secure location during this time. This was however not on the forecast so unsure if anyone knew it would actually rain. This left guests running for cover after the ceremony to get away from the rain. Despite this one hiccup, everything else was great about the venue including the food!

Our event planner from JDK Alyssa was cool, calm, and collected and allowed for my ideas, she was responsive and more than helpful leading up to and on the day of, I am laid back and not into frills- and Alyssa understood that. JDK Food was 5 star- I also received many compliments that this was some of the best wedding food guests had ever had.

We were married in the tiered gardens mid April…. Everything was blooming and made for gorgeous photos. It poured on and off the day of my wedding and they let me make the final decision about having it outside within 3.5 hours of the start time. We took a gamble and held it outside and it paid off! The food and cocktails were amazing! Loved that this venue was a BYOB… we were able to take back unopened bottles to our local store and got money back which we all know you usually never get money back from a wedding. I also loved that we weren’t held to meet a minimum headcount. We had 75 guests there, while other venues in NJ that we looked at wanted 130 minimum head count. We only wanted closest family and friends there. The bridal suite was so accommodating. It looked like a beauty bar with wall to wall mirror, high stools, and electrical outlet in every spot. It also had a private bathroom for the bride abs bridesmaids to use and plenty of counter space and a mini fridge! I can not say enough about this place! It’s romantic, rustic, and charming and our guests raved about it and didn’t mind traveling outside of state to see this gorgeous vision of a venue! Love, Heather and Don Grasso

g the absolutely stunning grounds of Elizabeth Furnace, we knew we did not need to look any further. We canceled our other venue tours and booked with them the following week. Not only did the breathtaking grounds help with our decision, but the exclusive JDK group hosting as catering and event staff sealed the deal. On our wedding day, the bridal and groom's suites were the perfect size for getting ready and also spaced out so we were not running into each other before the ceremony. Many of our guests and family members approached us during and after the wedding stating how beautiful the venue was. We would not have been happier at any other venue.

The guests could easily move from indoor air conditioning to mingling and games outdoors. JDK was amazing, they were easy to work with, accommodating our ideas for a more mix and mingle event. The food was amazing and beautifully displayed. JDK also did the flowers for us, we requested wildflowers and again it was perfect for the vibe we were looking for. The grounds are meticulously manicured and the myriad of historic stone structures have been beautifully restored and provide a grand backdrop. My favorite was the stable adorned with magnificent chandeliers, where the dinner reception was held. The tiered lawns, perennial gardens and fruit trees made for a dramatically beautiful spot for the garden wedding and elegant cocktail reception. The menu was superb, and the event staff carefully orchestrated every detail with the greatest precision. It was a magical, unforgettable evening!

ly has it all aesthetically -- 4 tiers of manicured lawns with a beautiful assortment of flowering beds between the tiers, a dozen beautifully restored colonial-era stone buildings with slate and wood shingle roofs scattered throughout the property, and old-growth woodlands surrounding the 34-acre property. As my now husband and I are history buffs, we were excited to learn that the property was originally a colonial village built in the 1750's to support the iron furnace operation which made wood stoves and then munitions for the Continental Army during the American Revolution. The property's historical importance is reflected in the fact that it is one of only 2,000 Registered National Historic Landmarks in the country. Yet 4 years of meticulous updates to the property have transformed it into a full service wedding venue with all the requisite modern amenities. The bridal suite was very modern with floor to ceiling windows, an entire wall of mirrors and counter for makeup & hair, and comfy seating. The groom party had their own modern house to get ready. The reception stable was fully climate controlled which was important given that the weather was unusually hot that day. We were married outside in the tiered gardens, but it was extremely comforting to know that EF also has wonderful indoor options as well in case of rain. The JDK team was a pleasure to work with from the outset and took care of every detail. They are the venue's exclusive caterer, and our guests all raved about the hors d'oeuvres and food. In addition, we used them for bar service, flowers, tables, chairs and table settings. All their products and services were top-notch, and it seemed so much less stressful than hiring individual vendors for those services. They also provided a day-of-event lead which saved us from hiring and paying for an outside wedding coordinator. While we at first thought JDK's quote seemed a little high, we came to the conclusion that they were really a good value when we took the time to understand all the other products and services that were included in addition to the food catering. In summary, I can't recommend Elizabeth Furnace highly enough. The property is truly unique and JDK was a joy to work with. We couldn't have asked for anything more - Thank you! And if you have guests from out of town, Rock Lititz Hotel and The Wilbur are two recently constructed hotels 5 minutes down the road in Lititz. Our guests thought the hotels were great, and Lititz is a quaint, walkable town with wonderful food options and artisan shops. In 2013 it was voted "Coolest Small Town in America"!

The JDK catering group we worked with was incredibly professional, friendly, and experienced. They made the entire process easy and FUN for us. They were communicative and maintained a great attitude all year long. We looked forward to every visit to the venue. I wouldn't even know where to begin with describing the decorations and food! Everything was stunning and the food was "the best wedding food" many of our guests ever had. We would recommend Elizabeth Furnace and the JDK Group to any love birds looking for not only a gorgeous wedding venue but an amazing overall planning experience.
