alented she is, I have to say that she only added to the happiness and excitement of the day as soon as she showed up to start taking pictures of us getting ready! Even though we did not meet in person until the day of the wedding, her warm and friendly personality immediately made me feel comfortable around her. As soon as she arrived, she went right to work taking pictures of my family and I while getting our hair and makeup done and of my dress etc. She was punctual, efficient and clearly an expert. I knew I could trust that she would capture every important moment and all details of the wedding. When we received our photos, I was in awe of how incredible they were (we received them less than 2 weeks later)! She placed us in positions that were romantic and natural but also flattering! We have pictures with many different backgrounds and perspectives as she used our entire ceremony site. Before heading over to the reception, the sun started to set and Elizabeth made sure to take full advantage and take some sunset photos with us. We are so happy she did because they are breathtaking and are some of our favorites! We appreciated her patience and attention to detail to make each photo perfect, such as helping to position my train and telling me if I need to fix a part of my hair. My friends and family constantly mention to me how they have truly never seen such stunning pictures and talk about how talented our photographer was. In addition to the photos themselves being stunning, the thing we appreciated the most was how she captured our emotions. When I looked at the photos, I was taken back to how I felt at each of those times. That is something that is invaluable and what further sets Elizabeth apart from every other photographer I have seen. I was anxious because I was newly pregnant and did not want to "show" in my photos- you could not tell at ALL. Not only did she capture the feeling under an amazing atmosphere that I wanted from our big day, but she's also got a keen eye for some incredible shots. If you've got a big, obnoxious family (like mine) don't look any further because I've never seen someone herd a pack of cats better than Liz did. She was awesome! Being from Colorado, I particularly appreciate her use of sunlight in photos... they are bright and pretty, without looking white-washed. From a logistical standpoint, she is punctual and very professional. She is friendly and responsive to questions or concerns. She was fun to have around, throughout the wedding day! You see a lot of your wedding photographer, so you want someone who is kind and works well with everyone--which Elizabeth absolutely does. I even had several guests comment on her kindness and professionalism! Lastly, she was efficient with the staged family photos after the ceremony... which is especially important when no one wants to stand around for photos, and would rather be celebrating! There is NO reason I would not wholeheartedly recommend Elizabeth to any other bride.

It was very important to me to capture the beauty of our outdoor wedding and Elizabeth always could frame the shots with trees, a creek that ran alongside our wedding venue (Wedgewood Boulder Creek) and some beautiful evening light. She ran family photos smoothly with 3 sets of families (one divorced) and ensured that my husband and I got the photos we cared about most. She and Chelsea calmed my nerves on our drive to the first look location when I was freaking out, and were so personable and fun to be around all day! She has a very positive and calm personality which is great to have on your wedding day, while also being so excited for you! (She practically cheered when she got good shots of us which made me so confident!!) Elizabeth answered every question we had via email (we planned from out of town) and set up calls with us to go over details before the wedding. She delivered our photos more quickly than we expected and our wedding album is already on its way to us!! The online gallery is also great to share with family and friends and I love that you can download them and print with your own vendor. For our engagement photos, she was willing to try a new spot she had never photographed and she was so adventurous and quick to find the best places to shoot. Those also turned out great!!! I definitely recommend engagement photos to meet her and get a feel for what it's like behind the camera. I would highly recommend Elizabeth and Chelsea to anyone looking for timeless wedding photos to enjoy for the rest of your life!

Now the story of how we got here: Elizabeth was the first wedding decision we made, and she set the tone for our relaxed day. We stumbled upon her work through Instagram, and I was smitten. She captures natural light and Colorado's beauty unlike any other. We actually found our venue through her too! Elizabeth posted a photo from Evergreen Lake House, which we hadn't heard of, and upon seeing it, knew this had to be our photographer and this had to be the place. I was convinced before ever meeting Elizabeth, but knowing how important and lasting the impact of our photographer would be to our day, we decided to meet over coffee. Y'all, I rarely feel this at ease meeting someone for the first time. Elizabeth has a true gift of making you feel comfortable, and I can't overstate how important this is. Nick and I had never taken professional photos together, and were a bit nervous going into our engagement session. That was immediately lifted upon meeting Elizabeth at Mt. Falcon. We spent 2+ hours hiking, laughing like crazy, and feeling beautiful. She is so encouraging!! We got a sneak peek the next morning, and I was floored. Elizabeth knew all the spots to capture the best views and light. I should also say, Elizabeth is different than many other photographers. As you look through packages, you may see a 30 or 60 minute engagement session with other photographers. With Elizabeth, we weren't rushed, and she met us in an area that was out of the way for her. She never made us feel like this was a big deal, but it was to us. Elizabeth's talent is without question, but to be that gifted and also so kind and accommodating - just wow. Fast forward a few months, and Elizabeth helped us prepare for our big day! She gave us a bit of homework to ensure that our day would run smoothly, and I'm so glad she did. We got so many important family shots that wouldn't have happened in the excitement of the day without her. On our wedding day, Elizabeth met the ladies at Fluff in Denver to get a few shots of us getting ready. The light in Fluff is gorgeous, and no one could capture it like Elizabeth. The guys got ready at the Highland Haven in Evergreen, and the photos she took there are equally striking. I was initially unsure about doing a first look, but I trusted Elizabeth's suggestion and her photos from this ended up being some of our favorites from the day! She captured the moment in a series of photos that perfectly reflect the excitement of the day and our love for each other. We took many outdoors couple photos at the Haven, and Elizabeth has an eye for the best spots. We ended up with photos that make us look like we are next to a mountain despite being just off the main road in Evergreen! Elizabeth has shot many weddings at Evergreen Lake House, and if this is your venue, you could choose no one better. No pockets of sunshine to light up the lens. No jaw-dropping sunsets. However. I had never seen wedding photos so perfectly capture the beauty, excitement, and pure magic of an outdoor wedding. After seeing these photos, I KNEW Liz needed to photograph my wedding. In all honesty, I actually solidified my wedding date based on her availability -- and a month after my wedding, I can't image anyone capturing the magic of the Big Day so artistically and flawlessly as Liz and her team (Spika Photography). When I received my full gallery, I was truly caught up with laughter, tears, excitement -- she truly captured not only the aspects of the wedding too minuscule for a bride to notice in the heat-of-the-moment, but also somehow the fantasy and vision in my head since I started planning the event. Words cannot express how talented she is and how beautiful ALL of her weddings turn out. As for the day of, she had no problem being assertive and doing whatever necessary to get the right shot, but somehow she also never felt intrusive or in the way of the experience. My only regret is NOT having her stay for longer into my reception! I received a thorough sneak-peek of my photos within 48 hours and received the entire gallery in less than 3 weeks. Holy moly! From the engagement photos to the final end result, she is without a doubt one of the best decisions I made in planning my wedding.
