Our wedding at East Wind actually was absolutely perfect! I am so, so happy with how everything went and I am so grateful to everyone at East Wind for giving us such an amazing mem...ory I will cherish forever. The venue was absolutely stunning, and having the vendors for invitations, flowers, dress alterations, tuxedo rentals, hair, makeup, food, and overnight accommodations all right there at the same location made everything so easy.
We booked our wedding relatively late because I wanted to get married before moving and starting a new job, and we were extremely lucky that East Wind still had some dates available for a Saturday in the spring. To make things even more complicated, I also lived in a different state several hours away while we were planning the wedding, so my mother was also very involved in the planning process and went to East Wind many times in person to see the space and meet with the events manager, Jennifer McLaughlin. Despite the short notice and multiple different people involved, Jennifer worked her magic and made the planning process super easy! She gave us a checklist of everything we had to do and when to do it, which kept things simple, and she was always so warm, friendly, and responsive whenever we had questions. Our maître d', Scott, made our entire wedding day run so smoothly and seamlessly and our bridal attendant, Fabiola, took care of anything we needed, from holding my bouquet in between photos and adjusting the bustle on my dress to bringing me food during cocktail hour and packing up my leftovers after the reception.
Our ceremony was supposed to be outside, but it ended up raining on our wedding day. Fortunately, East Wind informed us in advance that the indoor chapel was available if it rained, so I didn’t worry about the weather at all and it was very easy to move the ceremony inside. The indoor chapel was so bright, cheerful, and beautiful that I often forget the ceremony was originally meant to be outside! The reception was in the Veranda Room, which was just as beautiful as the chapel! We had about 100 guests, and this room was a perfect size, with plenty of room to walk between the tables or move around on the dance floor without feeling cramped or overcrowded. The food was also amazing! There were so many different options to choose from, and we had so much fun picking everything out, from soft pretzels, pastrami sandwiches, and macaroni and cheese at the cocktail hour to salmon, steak, and pork chops at the reception. We absolutely loved it and we received so many compliments from our guests about everything related to the wedding, but especially the incredible food! We also had a breakfast at Desmond’s the next morning for any guests who stayed overnight, and once again the food was fantastic and the room was clean, bright, and the perfect size for our needs.
Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful experience at East Wind. Everyone we spoke to was so friendly and professional and they made the entire planning process as easy as possible. Our wedding was an absolute dream come true and we are so grateful to Jennifer, Scott, and Fabiola for going above and beyond to make our special day so perfect!
