Everything from the first meeting was top notch. Carrie was amazing and took time to understand our vision and needs. The ceremony site at the Lodge was perfect and decorated beaut...
ifully. The rehearsal was smooth and Carrie made sure to check with us many time to make sure we were happy. Our reception at the Base Lodge was everything we dreamed an more. The bridal suite had an amazing make over and it was so nice to have it available for the bridal party. All of the staff was friendly and professional. All timing was on point for everything. We chose 2 hot appetizers for cocktail hour (spring rolls/ bacon wrapped scallops) both we fantastic. We had the best day and Eagle Rock resort was the perfect choice for us. Great job everyone... thank you for giving us an incredible weekend!
I was looking for a venue for my friend and thought I would get on here to check the reviews for Eagle Rock. I'm sad to see that they still haven't stepped up their game. I got mar...
ried there way back in 2006 and the woman in charge at the time really screwed my husband over on our contract. Three weeks before our wedding, she changed the prices on the bar. When we told her we couldn't afford it, she said, "Well, I guess you aren't going to have a wedding then, are you?" Had we known at the time that was breach of contract, we could've nailed her. We were young and dumb. She also gave us nothing but headaches the morning of our wedding. It rained that morning, but it stopped and she refused to take our chairs outside and wanted us to have it inside. Thank god she had a new assistant by that time who actually listened to us and was empathetic. We sent her flowers after the wedding because it is weren't for her, it would've been a nightmare. 13 years after our wedding and I still can't get my hubby to go back there even for a celebratory dinner. (We also got engaged there and that is why we chose that venue.) On one hand, I understand him. We don't want to give ONE DIME to Eagle Rock. Yet, on the other hand, how I would love to spend just one anniversary in the same location we got married. But I think that place triggers us both in many ways because although our wedding was beautiful, it wasn't because of Eagle Rock -- they made the day very stressful and honestly, the entire process a huge headache. That's NOT how you should remember your wedding day. They should be ashamed and should not even allow weddings there if they can't have staff on hand that actually understands the needs of wedddings. Parties and corporate gigs? Okay. Weddings, NO WAY!
The venue to get married is absolutely breathe taking! And where the reception is held is gorgeous. But the planning was nothing but a nightmare. In a year and half span I went thr...
ough 3 different wedding planners and two chefs. To say the least it was nuts. They do not give an itemized bill of what everything costs. They wanted to charge me 8.95 on top of every vendor, kid and teen meal for a soda plan no where it was stated in their packages. The day of the wedding... people’s lodge rooms did not have hot water for showers. Food came out cold and they lacked staff terribly. Half of the tables would get food at a time then wait for the other half. Dessert was not ready on time. My mother had to go in the kitchen to find out. The bar was supposed to remain open during dinner service with the package we picked it was not. Very hard to get drinks and food during cocktail hour. I would not recommend this place for the amount of money you pay to have it there and the level of service. Also during the weekend they had many referrals there making the parking lot hard to park and no shuffle to help with over flow.
I attended my friends wedding here in May of 2016. The venue is absolutely beautiful and probably the nicest place around here to have a wedding. It is also very expensive. On the ...
day of the wedding everything that could go wrong did go wrong. The food was suppose to come out no later than 6:45 and came out around 9 (my husband is diabetic and had to leave to go get fast food and come back), the soup was ice cold, they ran out of soup, the scallops wrapped in bacon were raw, the chicken was raw, the kids never got their food, the vegetarians never got their food, the late night snack provided by the family was served as an appetizer while the couple was out getting pictures, the bar was closed for over 2 hours until the bride had a breakdown. I could go on and on. I am still having nightmares for the bride and groom. No one should have to go through this. It has recently been brought to the family's attention from staff at Eagle Rock that the chef, Andrew Palazzo, purposely sabotaged their wedding because he was not happy working at Eagle Rock and wanted to move back to Naples, Florida but was in a contract. He then decided to screw up the biggest wedding of the year (I believe 250+ people) so he could go back to work at a steakhouse in Naples. I know this isn't all of Eagle Rocks fault, but there were some things they could have done better as well. I hope karma gets this man for doing what he did to a wonderful family. The wedding was absolutely beautiful, but if you had to write a book on a disaster wedding this would be the perfect story all thanks to that selfish chef.
I attended a wedding at Eagle Rock Resort on 5/14/16. The venue is gorgeous and sells itself. However, the bride was crying at the reception, which is a complete nightmare for anyo...
ne planning a wedding. The cocktail hour ended at 6:30pm which was what was supposed to happen, but then the food was not served until about 9pm. Some tables did not even get food, and when it did come out, it was cold and some chicken was raw!!! I cannot make this up. The bride even apologized to everyone for what a complete disaster it was, and it was definitely not her fault. They only had to serve 250 people, not like it was 400+. They also kept the bar closed from 6:30-8:30pm until the bride complained and shed tears. What a mess! I felt so bad for them, especially considering the money that went into it.

nted. They had the snow machines going all night for skiers and we were able to take pictures at the bottom of the slopes at nighttime, which I know is going to look beautiful. Although several of our coordinators left while we were planning, there were always people there to make sure everything was just right. It would be a great venue any season and is definitely worth looking into.
We had our wedding reception at Eagle Rock Resort in October 2013. We selected this venue because it was close to home and provided a scenic & elegant location for our reception. ...
As the most expensive reception site in the greater Hazleton area, you expect A LOT for your money. You cannot beat the location, the quality of the food, or the scenic locale; however, there were some shortcomings. Before I get to the negative aspects, I would like to comment on the positive things we experienced:
1.The food at the tasting was accurately represented and the quality was just as good at the reception. However, you will have to pay for the tasting, so prepare yourself for that (again this is not something that is common)
2.The site was clean, and very inviting as promised.
3.You are able to bring your favors, and other items for the reception a few days prior to the event. This helps to ease nerves.
4.The rehearsal dinner (we had in the Lodge’s great room) also had great food, but was overpriced (pizza, Stromboli, and wings for 20 people was approx. $1,300---which was not communicated in advance)
5.The photos you can get on the grounds at Eagle Rock are amazing. Not a bad thing to say about that
Planning was by far the most difficult part about dealing with Eagle Rock for the following reasons:
1.We worked with Cheri (in Eagle Rock’s group sales department). She was either new or just clueless. Either way it definitely did not calm our nerves about the big day. She was unorganized and wanted to wait until a week before the wedding to iron out the details of the event.
2.Every time my husband and I wanted to discuss details, her response was “don’t worry we have time”.
3.She lead us to believe transportation was available on behalf of Eagle Rock as part of the package, but in reality they do not have transportation for guests from the Base Lodge (site of reception) to the lodge (where guests stay overnight). After weeks of arguing back and forth she worked out this issue, but it was not without insults and headaches.
4.When we continued to have issues with her, we inquired about cancelling the event (yes it got to that point), and her very tactful response was to cut and past the contract language in an email. Very cold, and not caring if she kept our business…
5.We were unaware we would be forced to work with Eagle Rock’s decorator for the linens and chairs…something every other place included in their price and did not require you to work with another outside vendor. That was a nightmare – if you care to read that review you can find it under Still Creek Inc. I promise that review will be just as honest as this one.
In closing, if you are willing to have headaches planning your entire reception in order to get the most scenic and elegant location in Hazleton then this is the place for you.
