Eagle Ridge is an incredible venue, and the food was excellent. The planning process leading up to our wedding was seamless, thanks to Sarah. Unfortunately, the day-of coordination... included in our wedding package fell significantly short of expectations.
Sarah did stop by our bridal party’s rental home that morning to briefly check in and discuss last-minute logistics before we were scheduled to meet at the venue. However, she was difficult to reach afterward. Despite communicating our arrival time in advance, Sarah was nowhere to be found when we arrived at the venue before the ceremony. As a result, I was left waiting in the lobby for approximately 20 minutes, in full view of our arriving guests, before I was supposed to walk down the aisle.
During cocktail hour, our bridal party was left handling logistical matters because, once again, Sarah was nowhere to be found. When we eventually located her chatting with our guests, she explained that she had deliberately avoided speaking with me because she didn’t want to “stress out the bride.” However, our bridal party had also struggled to locate her, leaving us without the coordination and support we had expected. As bride and groom, we wanted a few minutes before the end of cocktail hour for a grand reveal of our reception in the grand ballroom before it was open to our guests. We very clearly communicated this to Sarah, but when the time for this came, Sarah “forgot” and sent our guests to the reception ahead of us, leaving us in charge of coordinating our guests while Maggie ran ahead to try to help us. The weirdest part was that Sarah would tell our bridal party that she didn’t know what we wanted…despite the many details discussed with her leading up to the big day.
Throughout the reception, our requests to dim the overhead lights in the Grand Ballroom were disregarded, with Sarah simply stating that she would take care of it later. (Maggie offered to do it right away but Sarah told her no). To make matters worse, Sarah approached us during dinner to announce that she was leaving because she had the following day off. She then instructed our bridal party to find someone else at the front desk to assist with storing our décor in her office at the end of the evening.
We are still genuinely shocked by the lack of professionalism, communication, and coordination we experienced on our wedding day. While the venue itself was beautiful and the food was wonderful, the day-of coordination was an enormous disappointment. We expected to be able to enjoy our wedding without having to track down our coordinator or delegate responsibilities that should have been handled by the venue.
Unfortunately, our big day was spent coordinating guests and running Sarah’s handling of our wedding day significantly detracted from an otherwise beautiful experience and left us disappointed in Eagle Ridge as a whole.
