DJ Matt ROAN

anted to just let him do his thing. We described the atmosphere we wanted, he took it and ran with it and killed it! For months after our wedding whenever we would see friends they always talked about how incredible the DJ and music was. 100/10 recommend! Thanks for everything Matt!

verything we had hoped for. He was very accommodating to our requests and I would recommend him to anyone!

e custom mixes for us. We debated a lot between band and DJ and we kept looking at each other all night saying "I'm SO glad we went DJ and went with Matt." Matt was great to work with in the lead up and the night of. He's someone you'd want at your party anyway so he's the perfect edition to any wedding or event!

. He truly was full service with his role in providing ceremony music as well as serving as the emcee, playing great tunes during cocktail hour, and keeping our dancefloor packed. The production value he brings with his setup including his lighting went above and beyond what we were expecting. He crushed every song transition and kept the vibes of the party elevated until the last second. Everything about our experience with Matt was 10/10 and would recommend him to everyone!

en it came time to plan our wedding, the top thing on our list was finding a good DJ. After multiple attended weddings where the music situation was... lackluster, we both knew that a great DJ isn't just someone who knows how to mix your favorite music, but they control the vibe throughout the entire evening. Enter DJ Matt Roan: an extremely personable individual who was so great to collaborate with when it came to each of our tastes in music, the vibes we were looking for each stage of our big day, and generally just so willing to work with us to ensure our vision came to life. From the initial meeting, we knew we were in great hands, yet he still somehow blew us away even further. We're obviously biased, but this was the best DJ we have ever experienced at a wedding. The only reason we are so insistent about it is because of all the guests of varying ages that are STILL complimenting us on how awesome Matt was. Our dance floor was never empty! And as a surprise bonus?! He even shared the wedding mix with us afterwards in case we ever want to reminisce about our big day, or tear up our living room like a dance floor. This man is followed by Drag Queen, DJ TRIXIE MATTELL! If Trixie loves him, then you KNOW you're in good hands.

. We provided him with the playlists and allowed him to use his creativity and experience to guide the way. The introductions were on point and the transitions between songs kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night. Thank you so much, Matt!

its from every decade for every person that was there. We are so happy we had Matt DJ our wedding because he really made the night so amazing. If you are looking for a DJ that is going to keep people dancing and bring the vibes from the first song to the last, Matt is the way to go!

availability because we KNEW we needed him to be there on our big day. Not only did he meet our massive expectations but clearly surpassed them by melding his fantastic taste in music along with our vision perfectly. His skills at getting the dance party going and keeping it going are impressive, along with playing the MC as well... plus his lighting kit is pretty slick, too.

er easy to work with, listened to what we wanted, and read the room perfectly. The energy never dropped, and so many of our guests told us it was one of the most fun dance floors they’ve ever been on at a wedding. If you want to have an awesome wedding, hire DJ Matt Roan.

He effortlessly blended all of our favorite songs with his own creative twist, keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed all night long. We couldn’t be more grateful for how he helped create such an unforgettable atmosphere on our big day. Highly recommend!

onal, special and FUN. Couples put a lot of trust in their DJ to guide their guests through the night and keep the energy up. Matt is such a pro. I didn't stress for a second about what was coming next or whether our guests were having a great time. You will not regret working with Matt!!

layed ALL of the sound son our list and was honest with us when he wanted to mix it up to get more people on the dance floor - and let me tell you... he got them all out! If you're looking for an absolutely full dance floor for hours, booking Matt is how you achieve that! Could not recommend him more!

evening and no one left the dance floor until the very last possible second! I couldn't recommend him enough! We love Matt!

parts of our wedding. We requested some Eritrean songs mixed in with the modern songs and Matt was so helpful working with us to make sure there was a good balance. With the million things to worry about that come with wedding planning our music was not one of them because we felt like we were in such good hands. From the ceremony to the dinner to the dancefloor the music was exactly what we hoped for and really elevated our day. We cannot thank Matt enough! Book him immediately!

er DJ. He was easy to communicate with and took the time to really get a sense of our music style well in advance of the wedding. We had a lot of requests and he exceeded all them. His experience and professionalism is unmatched and I would highly recommend him for any event.

the tone for what I think was the best dance floor I have ever been on (a little biased, but still)! From the pre-wedding preparation process to the day of, Matt had it all covered – he played our ceremony through the end of the night, and everything was perfection. His taste in music is great and the energy he brought to our reception was like being at the best set you’ve ever witnessed, surrounded by all your loved ones. The best way to sum up how great Matt was is feedback from our guests. Throughout the night we had friends coming up to us and letting us know they had to introduce themselves to Matt because of how good the dance floor was. Post wedding, we also received the same feedback, with our guests telling us that it was the best music they have ever heard at a wedding. We couldn’t thank Matt enough for everything he did to make our wedding so special – he is one of one!!

le with it all. This included a ceremony in the woods, dinner in the orchard, and dancing on the patio. He has great energy too. As a Wedding Planner I highly highly recommend him!!!

e to provide suggestions and playlists for parts of the wedding we were unsure about. I even had future brides inquiring about him for their weddings. Definitely recommend!

t long. He really knew how to read the crowd and mix genres seamlessly, which made for an unforgettable evening of fun and dancing!

all of the months leading up to the big day. You definitely need DJ Matt Roan at any event.

short of magical. From the moment we met him, it was clear he genuinely cared about us as a couple and was committed to making our celebration perfect. He masterfully mixed our first dance song and kept the dance floor packed all night, reading the crowd and creating the perfect atmosphere. Beyond his incredible skills, he sent us our entire playlist afterward, allowing us to relive our favorite day whenever we want. Music was such a crucial part of our celebration, and DJ Matt ROAN exceeded every expectation. We couldn’t recommend him enough—he truly made our day unforgettable!

ces & old school music. Matt was extremely communicative, detail oriented, and beyond accommodating with specific requests we had. He sent us a questionnaire roughly 6 weeks out to cover off on our must play songs, favorite artists, “do-not” plays, entrance songs, etc. He even sent us a dinner playlist for us to review to ensure it matched what we envisioned for our dinner music. When I say he over delivered, I mean that wholeheartedly. Our dance floor was packed all night long and we received so many compliments on our music. The cherry on the sundae is that Matt provided us with a playlist of all of the songs he played during our reception so that we can relive the evening for years to come. If Matt Roan is available on your wedding date - BOOK HIM! You won’t regret it. To the ultimate vibe curator & party starter - Thank you for everything, Matt!

delivered from start to finish from the beginning of the planning process to the very end of the wedding day was truly so reassuring. The dance floor was absolutely LIT thanks to him!! Our guests are still raving about how amazing he was… Music is a huge part of our lives and the care, thought and passion he put into curating music magic for us made the entire day so special and memorable. Mark and I are so grateful and will most definitely be recommending him to all of our friends for future weddings!!

ve him some songs that we wanted played and he mixed them perfectly! Somehow he mixed in some of our favorite songs that we didn't even request. He's just that good! My husband and I love dancing but we weren't sure if our families would be on the dance floor long with Matt as our DJ the dance floor was jam packed!

oor with some epic mixes. I couldn't recommend him more and I'm so excited he's doing our friends wedding too so we can hang out with him again.

, understood exactly what we wanted, and DELIVERED! From our first dance to the end of the night (about three hours), the dance floor was absolutely PACKED! We honestly thought we were going to break the floor from so many people moving and grooving. I can't say enough good things about Matt and would hire him again in a heartbeat.

re no dead moments on the dance floor from our first dance to the last song. Every transition and mix was seamless and fun. Matt is also a great guy. He is very personable, and easy to work with. We wish we had more parties to throw to have Matt as our DJ! We’d recommend him to everyone! - Jack and Morgan

erent location) and he set it all up to have impeccable audio and vibes. He took all of our music recommendations and through in some bangers of his own. He also put together a pop-punk mix that should go be in the rock and roll hall of fame. 10/10 would hire again

s feel like our opinions were being heard in the construction of a wedding playlist. And he mixed our first-dance songs up perfectly to fit into our ideal lengths for our wedding. All in all, the planning and communication leading up to the wedding was fantastic. Even better was the day of! Matt has a great energy about him to encourage people out onto the dance floor and struck up great conversations with us and guests in between his sets. Matt really made it feel like he was a part of our wedding in its entirety rather than someone who just showed up to play music and leave. Would highly recommend Matt at your upcoming event or wedding!

edding planner and we are so very glad that she told us about him! He is the coolest guy and incredibly easy to work with. After our first meeting with him we knew right away that he was going to throw us a party for the ages. We threw so many different kinds of music that we like at Matt and he seamlessly put together a mix that kept the dance floor packed the entire night. We wanted to make sure all guests heard something they liked, while avoiding the wedding songs you typically hear. Our wedding guests were raving about the music that night and telling us that we had the best wedding DJ they’ve ever heard. We had an absolute blast at our wedding because of Matt Roan. My wife worked with Matt behind my back to call me up to the DJ booth and have me (pretend) DJ to two of my favorite songs and the guests on the dance floor went absolutely crazy. He was so easy going and immediately on board with the idea, I’ll never forget that moment! We can’t stress enough that you NEED to have Matt Roan DJ your wedding. You won’t regret it, your wedding guests will be dancing all night, and you will have the most fun on the biggest day of your life. Matt, you’re the GOAT wedding DJ and we will never forget how much fun we all had at our wedding because of you! Thank you so much! Book this man now!

e took our guidance as inspiration but then built off of that. And, beyond the music itself, he handled all of our audio needs capably and professionally (ceremony audio, microphones for speeches, etc.). We would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ.

accommodating, and personable. He seemed to have a way of knowing what music we wanted even better than we did. We danced the entire time, and our guests said things like "Your DJ is so good," or "We danced so much more than expected!" Matt did the best job and we cannot recommend him highly enough.

kind of music we envisioned for the wedding and right away we were on the same page. We wanted to have a mix of new and old songs so all ages would enjoy the music. Our dance floor was PACKED the whole night! I hoped people would dance the whole time, as sometimes you go to weddings and no one is dancing, but we didn’t have this problem with Matt! He has an eye for gauging the crowd and playing songs that keep everyone going on the dance floor. A true testament to Matt’s DJ ability is seeing my uncle on the dance floor. I couldn’t believe it! I have never seen my uncle dance and my aunt is always upset that she is not able to get him to dance. He danced the night away until the wedding was over. This was a highlight for me! We also had kids at the wedding and one of the kids was having a ball on the dance floor and told his dad, “This is the best night of my life!” DJ Matt truly plays beats for all ages! One of our guests also recognized Matt because he and his wife used to follow Matt around Chicago to listen to him when he was DJing at Chicago clubs. Matt is highly reputable and very well known in the Chicago area. He still DJs at some of the hottest clubs in Chicago, which is something we were excited about when choosing Matt as a DJ. Leading up to the wedding he was very EASY to work with and was very responsive to emails. Before the wedding, we filled out a questionnaire so he could understand the kind of music we would like played. We also made a list of songs/artists that we like. He hit a homerun in the music and vibe we hoped for at the reception! We also had a couple of special requests, and he was more than happy to accommodate and make it the reception we envisioned. For example, we had a QR code and let the guests vote on the first song to open the dance floor. Matt helped us with recommendations for songs that would be good to open the dance floor with. We also played two German polka songs during the reception for my grandma so she could have the opportunity to dance. I sent Matt the link to these songs on YouTube and he had no problem working it into the reception. My maid of honor also had a special request and wanted a song played during her speech. I connected her with Matt via email and again he was so accommodating and made it happen! Matt also edited the father/bride dance and mother/groom dance to shorten the songs. He edited the songs perfectly. He would have edited our first dance song, but since we took dance lessons the studio edited the song for our choregraphed dance. Lastly, one of the best parts of working with Matt is receiving the ENTIRE playlist after the wedding! We are able to listen to the playlist and relive the night for the rest of our lives. This was such a nice touch and the cherry on top of the cake working with Matt. Overall, we highly recommend DJ Matt Roan. You will be in good hands hiring him as your DJ and you will not be disappointed!

e to my many requests and curated the perfect wedding playlist. He was also super professional and easy to communicate with. 100% recommend!

ces, and an epic dance floor that was fun for all ages. Matt was hands-off (i.e. not needy, very easy going) and very responsive to emails in the weeks leading up to the wedding. There were several songs we couldn't decide on and deferred to his judgment (i.e. what to play when bride and groom are announced at the reception, what to play during dinner, etc.) and it was all perfect. We've received tons of compliments on "our DJ" from friends and family. 10/10!

he reception was handled flawlessly. His personality and vibe were great for our event. He was organized, communicated well and we never had to worry about a thing when it came to the music. We highly recommend Matt to anyone looking for a DJ for a wedding or any other event.

d going through our wedding day logistics. At our wedding, he did a great job of setting the vibe for each point of the evening and had all of our guests on the dancefloor by the end of the night. He can expertly read a crowd and know what people want to hear, which was very much appreciated. I've already recommended Matt to a few of my friends for their wedding so I'm hoping I get the chance to be at a reception he's DJ'ing again!

to your wedding. He listens and cares. I cannot recommend him enough. He is also the nicest guy, and a delight to work with and be around. I am bringing him along for every event I will plan in the future!

ing an acquaintance's wedding, and it was easy to see why. The communication aspect of the process was excellent all the way through. Matt was patient about my (way-too-precious) approach to our must-play list, helped trim certain songs to fit our plans, and threw out some really fun suggestions that easily fit into the vibe we were shooting for. On the night of, Matt quite simply brought the house down for 3.5 straight hours. He seamlessly wove the playlists we'd sent along into other songs perfectly suited for what we wanted, including some transitions that inspired audible reactions from some of our more music-loving guests. He knew the right songs to play when, and knew exactly how much room to let each one breathe. Everything what you'd want from a great wedding DJ tasked with curating how your party is supposed to feel. I'd spent a long time thinking about and planning what I wanted the music at my wedding to feel like (probably too much, honestly.) And Matt's final version was better than anything I could have hoped for. He helped make the biggest party we'll ever throw into the party we envisioned. If you can, hire this guy as your wedding DJ. I promise you will not be disappointed.

tell you how many compliments we received on our music and our dance floor, something that was incredibly important to me. A note from a friend just today, nearly three weeks after our wedding: "Thank you for including us in your celebration with the finest wedding playlist in the northern hemisphere." Please hire Matt, and also please invite me so I can appreciate his work again!

o respond to messages and even helped us edit our first dance song to the perfect length. He also handled our ceremony music and made each part flow into the next seamlessly. As the bride, I also loved getting a thumbs up and a smile as I headed down the aisle! We filled out a questionnaire with some random songs we liked but Matt made them all better by mixing them all together perfectly to create the perfect flow and vibe. The vibe felt like us, but in a much cooler way that we could never have put together on our own. We have been bragging about him nonstop since literally every single guest has commented on how amazing he was. Many of them (including us) have plans to catch him at an upcoming show!! Matt is pure class, talent and a hell of a good time. I am so grateful to him for making our night so much fun!

k back and just play the damn song to get the full experience because NOTHING compares. That’s the best analogy I can give when trying to write a review about Matt Roan. Sure I could go on and on about how he’s the rare combination of intuition and experience, style and humility, kindness and confidence…. But that’s still selling Matt short. You have to have had the Matt Roan experience to catch my drift. He is by far one of the best DJ’s we’ve ever worked with, and that’s over 250 people considering my husband and I have been wedding photographers and videographers for 10 years. His professionalism and organization is outstanding. His curation to his clients is impeccable. He makes the most fun part of weddings even MORE exhilarating. And he’s got killer taste, in fashion and, more importantly, in music. Matt is, by far, the best decision we made for our destination wedding in Kauai. Everyone still talks about our dance floor and I give Matt 100% of the credit. We knew he was good, in fact, throughout wedding planning I referred to Matt as our secret weapon, but all 140 guests were BLOWN AWAY by Matt’s joyous nature, sick beats, and dare I say ‘great vibes.’ Even my austere, 83-year-old, Japanese grandmother who makes everyone WORK for even the tiniest compliment said the Dj was her favorite part of the wedding. “He just was smiling the whole time, having a blast.” If Matt can win over the matriarch of my family, he can win over anyone. He’s an ingenious music man, but also a tremendously charismatic and positive MC, which is an often overlooked attribute in a great DJ. Hire Matt and join me in my rhapsodizing, or forever regret it and refer to him as, “The one that got away…”

We danced all night long and he's such a talented DJ and isn't just playing songs off a list. The flow, the edits, everything was perfect.

know what they're doing. Well let me tell you, Matt Roan KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. Matt was an absolute joy to work with during our planning process. He was insightful, experienced, and an actual nice human being. Knowing we had a million things to account for, my husband and I knew music was something that we did not have to worry about. Matt gave us the comfort and confidence in knowing that we were in good hands and he would take care of everything. And I will say, he most certainly did. By the time of our big day, Matt was there ready to get the party going. From getting us mic'd up for our ceremony, to MC-ing throughout dinner, to then owning the dance floor during our reception — Matt brought it all. His remixes, transitions and music selections were exactly what my husband and I wanted. Our wedding turned nightclub kept everyone on the dance floor until our venue had to throw us out. And now, 6 months later, people are still commenting on how great the music was. So if you're looking to "drop it like it's hot" for your wedding, you have to talk to Matt. He absolutely will not disappoint and you'll truly end up with a night you will never forget.
