I would highly recommend Jon. By no fault of his own, we did a very bad job giving him guidance for our reception. As our date approached and we were busy with a lot of things, our...
Zoom call kept getting rescheduled. We essentially just ended up giving him a list of songs that we liked and he took it from there. He kept the energy up the entire night and our photos reflect that with nothing but smiles from start to finish. He brought his own equipment and we didn't hear of any issues with setup, no feedback during the ceremony etc. 10/10
Jon did an amazing job working our wedding at the Hotel Monaco this past July !! He had everyone on there feet all night and smoothly announced the major events throughout the nigh...
t. Right from the beginning, we knew Jon was perfect. He was totally fine with our very vague explanations of the type of music we wanted. He was so easy to work with and able to translate the vibe we wanted into a great night of music! I would 100% recommend Jon for you wedding or any event!!
We had a great experience working with Jon at our wedding! He was very easy to work with, and patient with us as we took our time deciding on music for our wedding. From the very b...
eginning he was very helpful and responsive. He made sure everything went smoothly with introductions and special dances. Jon paid close attention to our "do not play" list, and played all the jams we did want. He took requests from the guests as well, and made it a really fun experience for everyone. Music was one of the aspects of our wedding that we really cared about, and wanted to be just right. Jon did a great job, and we would not have changed a thing. He was able to keep the dance floor going throughout the entire night, and several of our wedding guests have commented on how great the DJ was. I would highly recommend Jon for any event!
Jon DJ'd our wedding, and we are so happy that we hired him for our big day! Our guests kept telling us how great our DJ was, and each song he played seemed better than the last. H...
e is professional, acknowledged our requests for must-play and do-not-play, and created the perfect atmosphere from cocktails to dinner to dancing. The dance floor was packed all night, and my feet were killing me by the end of the night - a sure sign of a great DJ! I would recommend Jon to anyone looking for a DJ in a heartbeat.
"On the morning talk show today, they had a brief segment about how dancing makes you a better person...no wonder you are so gosh darn amazing! Hope you have an amazing birthday fi...
lled with as much joy as the dance party we had at your wedding -- I don't think I have ever danced that much at a wedding - best DJ/playlist ever!"
The above is a direct quote from a good friend of mine, wishing me happy birthday a week after our wedding, and, obviously, still reminiscing about the awesome dance party we had that night. If her words are any indication, Jon Gill is a phenomenal DJ! He really knew just how to read the crowd to make sure every was dancing all night long. Even when we had to end the wedding at 1:30am, people still wanted to dance because he was playing such great music and throwing such a wonderful party. My husband and I are very particular about our music tastes, and Jon was great to work with in that he listened to our expressed preferences, incorporated them often (for example, we wanted a lot of indie music during dinner -- something we also got compliments on after the wedding), but also knew how to adapt music depending on what the crowd wanted at any particular time. We feel very lucky that we were able to work with him!
The best decision we made while planning our wedding was hiring Jon Gill. During planning, the most important part for both of us was making sure that the music was amazing. Our gu...
ests have been RAVING about the music ever since.
Jon is easygoing and detail oriented. We provided him with a list of musical preferences and told him it was just a starting point to give him an idea of what we would like to hear (not a playlist). Jon hit every single thing on the list, and simultaneously played to the desires of our guests all night. We gave him a timeline of the wedding with the important songs and moments and he not only hit every single one, but he kept the momentum of the event going. (An under-appreciated role of the DJ is to keep the wedding moving along. Trust me, you will get distracted and need this...).
Jon is flexible enough to adapt to last minute changes. He even added a personal touch when he recommended a song for the recession at our ceremony. In the heat of planning we had forgotten to pick a song for this integral part of the event. He pointed it out the day before and we both sat like deer in headlights at the brink of despair. He immediately recommended the perfect song. This guy is the real deal.
If you want your wedding to have the special feel that it can only have when the music is right, the timing is good, and everyone is smiling then SERIOUSLY look no further. Jon is the additional factor that turned a beautiful venue with good food into a wedding celebration that was really reflective of our personalities and dreams.
Jon Gill is a professional. He was by far my favorite person to work with while planning my wedding. He was easy to work with and just a pleasure to have announce my husband and I ...
as Mr. & Mrs. When I contacted Jon about the date he took down all the details and ensured that I had everything I needed (contract, specs for equipment, etc.), he made amazing suggestions which made for flawless ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception audio and music. He worked with my adventurous playlist for the ceremony and my do-not playlist, he even managed to incorporate all of the traditional Dominican songs I sent a list of into the evening which made for the most meaningful and authentic father-daughter dance ever. If you are still thinking about who you will have DJ your event look no further! Jon has the experience and the natural ability to make your wedding or event timeless.
We cannot say enough about just how wonderful Jon was. Jon honored all of our specific requests, including a bunch of Hindi songs. He also handled requests from the guests with p...
erfect judgment. But he was at his best when he was making the selections, playing all sorts of songs that we hadn't thought of or wouldn't have expected, but all of which were smashing successes on the dance floor. He kept the dancing going strong for hours, until the very end of the night, when everyone was literally chanting for more. Our families, friends, and family friends all commented on how fantastic the music was. We cannot recommend Jon more strongly.
