We originally booked DJ Felix Entertainment because we had prior experience with DJ David and expected that high standard of professionalism. Unfortunately, our assigned DJ, Jolene..., fell far short of what we paid for. (Note: she did step in last minute when DJ David couldn't make it)
Despite a 90-minute planning call where we outlined our timeline and specific requests (like fading out our first dance songs), the execution was entirely lacking:
No DJing or Transitions: There was no mixing, beat-matching, or flow between songs. In fact, my husband noticed she was simply pressing play on the Spotify playlist we created for our planning notes.
She also was very inappropriate. During a trivia game, during dinner, she suggested over the microphone that guests who missed a question should find someone they didn't come with and kiss them. This made our married, dating, and single guests extremely uncomfortable and lacked basic professional judgment.
While our guests kept the dance floor filled because they were excited to celebrate, it was due to our own playlist and crowd energy—not the DJ's effort.
When we reached out privately to owner Alex to share our feedback, his initial response was defensive (deflecting to a "blank" online section despite our 90-minute call and citing a full dance floor in Facebook posts). He promised to follow up after speaking with her and never did.
If you are paying a premium for a live wedding DJ, you expect professional emceeing, song mixing, and seamless timeline management. We felt like we had to facilitate our own evening and ultimately paid for a service we didn't receive. I would recommend looking elsewhere.
