DJ Dave absolutely killed it!! He got everyone out on the dance floor and knew exactly how to keep the energy up for the entire night. We got so many compliments from guests on the...
music and how great his vinyl collection was. Only hire DJ Dave if you want absolutely everyone out on the dance floor having the best time. Highly recommend!
Dave was the DJ for our wedding this fall. I cannot say enough kind things about working with him. He was communicative throughout the planning process and even helped us think thr...
ough the timeline for the day of. He had no issue setting up for an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception and taking note of my very specific music requests. The music was absolutely perfect for the event, which was something that was really important to me. I got compliments from guests left and right that they enjoyed the music. He is someone who is very knowledgeable about music in general and accommodating. Cannot recommend enough!
My wife and I had Dave do our wedding recently, and we could not have been happier. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, he met with us twice to make sure our day would ...
be decorated with the ideal music for each moment. It absolutely was!
Dave was incredibly organized with notes throughout the process, and also offered some suggestions to us for parts of the wedding day we were still unsure of at the time. Even beyond just music selections.
Every moment of our day, from the wedding ceremony songs, cocktail hour, formal dances, and reception tunes, Dave hit the right note at every turn. Throughout the night, my wife and I had several guests come up to us to compliment us on our DJ choice.
We cannot recommend Dave enough!
We were so excited that Dave could DJ for our wedding! The whole experience was perfect. We loved planning the music and feel and flow of the reception with Dave -- he is super org...
anized and took care of every detail, down to making sure we had a microphone at the ceremony. The reception itself couldn't have gone better -- we loved the music Dave played for the cocktail hour and dinner, and our guests were dancing all night after dinner! He even incorporated last-minute requests for a traditional Liberian Wedding March and shared videos of the dancing with us! And did I mention he plays vinyl? His setup is so cool! We weren't sure if we were going to hire a DJ initially (we were a little DIY-ambitious), but there is no way our wedding would have been as amazing as it was without Dave!
My wife and I really wanted to have a vinyl DJ at our wedding and, while there aren't that many around, we are so grateful that DJ Dave is local to southeast Michigan! He was such ...
a pleasure to work with: incredibly friendly and down-to-earth from our first meeting, patient and open to hearing our ideas, and clearly paying attention to the important details of our day.
We have an eclectic taste in music and had some specific needs for our reception and Dave handled all of it with ease. I would highly recommend working with DJ Dave and I hope to attend more events that he's DJing!
My wife and I were married in late August 2022 at the Eastern in Detroit. We actually found Dave randomly on Instagram and decided to give him a shot because we liked his vibe and ...
that he plays vinyl. We are so glad that we hired him! Dave was helpful and organized throughout the process. He gave us some really good ideas, is easy to work with, and perfectly set the tone for our wedding with his music choices. So many of our guests told us what a great job he did, and we had people on the dance floor all night. We highly recommend DJ Dave!
DJ Dave did two weddings within two months I was a part of: my best friend's and mine! We spoke to various options and my now husband and I knew immediately we would have to go wit...
h DJ Dave. From the initial consultation/planning call all throughout the planning process and day of, DJ Dave was so knowledgable, kind, and thoughtful. He helped us navigate various logistics and made our day seamless. Our dance floor was bumping the entire time. Not only is he excellent at what he does, he is also a calming, positive presence. We loved having him on our day and will recommend no one else for future DJ needs. We love DJ Dave! :)
Dave Lawson is a joy to work with. He took all of our great wedding songs and mixed in perfect songs that we didn’t even consider. Our guests were on the dance floor for four hours...
… Book him now, you won’t be disappointed. As the dancing went on one of my guests shouted “This guy doesn’t miss”, and he wasn’t wrong.
Thank you Dave for making my most important day even better :)
Dave is awesome! He was recommended to us by our venue and we are so glad we hired him. He was super helpful with the planning process, helping us think through song choices for va...
rious moments when we didn't have a clue what we were doing. He made some great suggestions and provided input respectfully. We hired him for both our ceremony and reception, which made everything so smooth. On the day of, he kept our dance floor full all night long. We loved that he uses vinyl too. I would absolutely recommend Dave!
I should have written this review sooner but here we are almost a year later! Dave was incredibly attentive, genuine and great to work with. He set the vibe for my whole wedding. T...
he music was great, he listened well to what we wanted and worked with us on a pretty chaotic day. We had quite a few issues throughout the day and night but not a single issue with Dave, he just went with the flow and kept things going! I couldn’t recommend a DJ more than him, if you’re looking for someone who isn’t your typical wedding DJ.
Do yourself a favor and hire Dave! Great music and person. He set the tone perfectly for our evening and was so patient, kind, and understanding during our COVID planning (and mult...

I picked Dave to DJ our wedding because I loved the fact that he is a vinyl DJ, in addition to the fact that he has great music taste. Dave responded to all my communication right ...
away and was extremely flexible throughout my wedding planning process. My entire wedding commented how great Dave was and everyone was intrigued by the Vinyl setup. Dave is extremely professional and just an all around cool guy. Thank you, Dave!
If you want a dance floor that is going all night long, you need to hire Dave Lawson right now! He had everyone on the dance floor literally from the very beginning to the very end...
(including myself). Our videographer told us it usually takes her the whole reception to get as much dancing footage as she got for us just within the first song - and trust me, that footage is priceless!
In my first meeting with Dave, last year, I told him that being able to have a dance party with all of our favorite people was such an important part of the night for us and he really came through for that, we had a blast! Almost a week later and everyone is still talking about how much fun the dance floor was and how we wish it could’ve lasted longer.
Dave was so kind and fun to work with from our first meeting to the day of the wedding! You could tell that he truly wanted to be there and was having a great time - this is clearly more than just a job for him. The vinyl also added just another perfect & special touch to the night for us. It’s one of the main reasons we chose him and we’re so grateful that we did!
DJ Dave is amazing. I knew right from the start I wanted something different for our wedding day, and Dave's vinyl records were just what we were looking for. We played primarily m...
otown and music from the 80's and later... and everyone LOVED IT. We keep hearing rave reviews from our guests on the music selections. Please do yourself a favor and book Dave! He plays the music everyone should appreciate more (no more chicken dances and cha-cha slides). Thank you, Dave, for everything!
Not only was Dave an amazing DJ, (seriously, people were busting moves I have never seen before) he was such an amazingly supportive and helpful member of the team on our big day....
There were so many moments where we would say "it'd be great if..." or "can someone... " and Dave was right there ready to help. He worked closely with our sound and lighting people throughout planning and he gave us amazing sweet/ thoughtful advice on our planning call. WE LOVE DAVE. YOU'LL LOVE DAVE. HIRE DAVE and avoid all those cheesy/ lame/ chicken dance loving wedding DJs that you've seen at other weddings.
We hired Dave to DJ our wedding and could not have been happier! The music was amazing and we and all of our guests had a fantastic time on the dance floor. It was the perfect way ...
to celebrate the occasion!
Dave was also very flexible and friendly throughout the evening; he's the best!

sting the playlist for the night because they had so much fun, which we were able to oblige because Dave was able to record the whole ceremony and reception for us to revisit. Can't recommend enough. When the lights came up at 11 everyone was still ready to boogie!
