and make you feel confident that your event is in good hands. Unfortunately, our actual experience was quite different. For starters, much of the music planning falls entirely on the client. You are responsible for building out your song selections, yet have very little communication with the DJ who will actually be working your event. During our initial consultation, we were told we would have the opportunity to speak with our DJ beforehand. In reality, I had to specifically request that conversation. Communication and attention to detail were ongoing issues. We requested that our production call be scheduled a week earlier than their standard timeline because we would be out of town for our elopement. That request was seemingly forgotten, and I had to call to address it myself. I also repeatedly requested that my mother’s email be removed from communications, which was never resolved. Perhaps most concerning, I am fairly certain the DJ I spoke with beforehand was not the DJ who actually showed up for our reception. There was no clear communication regarding a change, and we had no opportunity to establish expectations with the person handling such an important part of our celebration. On the day of our reception, the DJ’s appearance was less professional than expected, and the music experience was particularly disappointing. We had provided preferred genres and understood that guests could request songs within those styles. However, not a single requested song was available — including one requested by the groom himself. I don’t necessarily place all the blame on the DJ, as he may have been working with the preparation and resources provided by the company. He was a very kind DJ. Ultimately, we paid for what felt like a sound system and lighting setup rather than a personalized, professional DJ experience. Considering I had already created a playlist to populate their music request system, we could have achieved a similar result with Spotify. A DJ plays an important role in setting the atmosphere for a wedding reception, I feel like it was okay in the moment because there was music. However, this experience lacked the communication, preparation, flexibility, and personalization we expected. Had I known what the actual experience would be, I would have chosen a different company. I hope this feedback encourages them to improve their communication, follow-through, and overall client experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend their services based on ours.
