The Devonfield Inn offered the most perfect place for our intimate wedding. The birch grove accommodated our ten guests cozily, yet with plenty of room to spare should we have had ...
more people. The natural outdoor setting was the most picturesque backdrop for the ceremony: the birches framing the ceremony and a sprawling, blooming meadow complete with trail and picnic tables and beautifully bordered by trees which created the feeling that we had a piece of paradise to ourselves. We got all of the photos we wanted to capture our day right there on the property (barn, field, flowers, inn, so many backdrops)! Doug and Jim helped us in accommodating our guests for dinner after with recommendations, set up/break down assistance for an outdoor dinner, and flexibility with the details (when to bring out the cake, where to set up, etc.). Doug was everything we could have hoped for in our officiant- personable, funny, willing to add in a last minute change to the ceremony, and helpful throughout the entire planning process. Quick to respond to emails, recommend reasonable and accomplished vendors, and facilitate the paperwork needed to make everything official, he ensured that everything ran smoothly leading up to and during the ceremony. Jim baked the best cinnamon breakfast cake we've ever had which we enjoyed with a view of the lawn from the sun room. (There are also several other comfortable dining areas we're excited to try should we be lucky enough to go back). Our rooms themselves were something out of a dream. Besides the modern amenities which were all neat and clean upon our arrival, the Roosevelt Suite has so much charm and we felt like we kept discovering more the room had to offer each time we returned to it (most strikingly the view which is superb to wake up to, with honorable mention to the vanity and closet, which were everything I didn't know I wanted for getting ready the morning of our wedding). The inn has a cheery atmosphere and Doug, Jim, and Kenny went above and beyond to make our wedding special and very memorable. The area offers lots of opportunity for day trips during your stay, including Mt. Greylock (great for sunrise pictures), the Naumkeag grounds, the Ventfort mansion, Edith Wharton the Mount, Bash Bish falls, and lots of scenic hikes and yummy restaurants.
My husband and I eloped to the Devonfield September 2023 and it was everything I could have possibly dreamed of and then some.

he only people at the inn, when in fact there was a full house and another wedding party staying the same weekend.
No detail was left unturned, the food is phenomenal and basically came on a silver platter to our private cottage. I have never felt so accommodated in my life.
Jim is a magician in the kitchen, with an abundant breakfast selection each morning of sweet and savory choices.
Doug is so warm, welcoming, and makes sure to provide you with anything you need to make your stay the absolute best.
I cannot thank you both enough for the amazing experience we will cherish forever. You both feel like friends and we will most certainly be back to visit you both again.

Our wedding ceremony was an amazing event, made extra special by Doug, the innkeeper and officiant. He put together a thoughtful ceremony that reflected our style.
We highly recommend this inn and will definitely be returning.
