as professional from start to finish, prompt, courteous, and was able to make my vision come true for every detail by me simply giving her simple instruction. If you are looking for a professional with impeccable work ethic and work product, this is who you should trust. Best Decision and Investment Ever!!!!
It's hard to do anything but reiterate all of the positive things that have already been said below about Uche and her team - Uche is incredibly creative, a consummate professional...
, and moreover just an all-around awesome human being to work with. From the beginning, she was super responsive and took the time to help me figure out the look for my wedding (I wasn't starting from much - just knew I wanted a "secret garden" type feel). In our first conversation alone I knew she had a vision, and told her to go with it. The execution was so far above and beyond our expectations that words can’t describe it. I loved and really appreciated the thoughtful proposal Uche put together (and changed several times at my annoying requests), but I really couldn't have imagined how beautiful everything would be the day of.
We got married at District Winery, and Uche and her team took FULL advantage of the blank canvas-esque space, complete with hanging greenery installations and the most beautiful altar piece I've ever seen. My bouquet was also gorgeous - as were my bridesmaids', and even the boutonnieres were amazing. I honestly had friends coming up to me telling me they loved the florals even more than what they had at their own weddings! Not only was the end result day-of perfect, but I know that Uche and her team worked tirelessly to get it done. When we had our rehearsal at the venue the afternoon before, they were there getting a head start (what other wedding vendor would do that!?)
I could go on about how incredible Uche is (like the fact that she hosted my mom and I at her studio for over an hour to patiently talk through details, even as she was prepping for a big wedding the next day), but the bottom line is that if you want top notch creativity and professionalism all in one, you can't go wrong with Designs by Oochay. One final thing - a friend/guest of ours happened to be a former client of Uche's, and Uche made a specific point to find her at the end of the evening to say hello and give her a hug (which my friend was super excited about), even though it was after midnight and she was trying to disassemble everything - which I thought truly showed how warm and gracious she is, as well as how much her former clients love her!
Where do I start? I came to Uche with a very specific vision for the florals for my May wedding. I can be particular about details, and this was an aspect of the wedding that I was...
really concerned about. I had an initial conversation with Uche and she put together a proposal based on our discussion with all of my asks. As someone who's very into branding and presentation, let me say that I appreciate the effort that Uche puts in her proposals. I had received some initial proposals from other florists, and Uche's was by far the most polished and aesthetically pleasing.
Uche worked with me over the following months to refine every detail and address all of my questions and concerns. She was very professional and transparent throughout the process. Fast forward to the wedding day and WOW! Uche executed the vision to a T plus more. The centerpieces, bouquets, and floral arch were a dream! I still swoon looking at the pictures. Even my most hard to please relatives were raving over her work. I can't thank the DBO team enough for making my wedding so beautiful. You guys are the best!
Oochay was so much fun to work with. But that wasn't the only thing I loved about her. I contacted her a 3 weeks before my wedding and I told her my vision over the phone - lots of...
candles, little flower.... I just said " I trust you do whatever you want, but just make it look simple." And that is EXACTLY what she did. I knew what I wanted, but I never thought I would ever find someone that would understand it and execute it the way she did. She is so accessible, flexible and easy to work with. Oochay, went ALL out and gave it her ALL !!!!!! My advise to the bride to be - you will NOT regret working with Oochay.

hout them!! She was wonderful to work with, had a great design eye and really helped bring my reception vision to life. Florals were one of the most important aspects of my wedding design and I’m happy I had her expertise to put it all together. Thank you Uche for being a part of what made the night so magical!!

orals. As well, she really got my vision and was able to help me thoughout the process by streamlining my options, making appointments with furniture vendors, and refining the options to fit within our budget. She made us feel important and was responsive to our needs. If there was ever an issue, she was understanding and worked with us to find solutions. I would absolutely hire her again and again!

r our Jewish wedding and was able to repurpose the flowers for our king table at the reception. We really appreciated that she met with us and our wedding venue coordinator a month before the wedding- she helped ID different things we hadn't even thought about! We had some disappointment with the flower type variety/deep color but after speaking with her we realized that this hot summer was just not great for creating the types of flowers we expected (dahlias). We recommend you keep your vision wide and open-minded so that you don't expect something in particular. Also, save your original signed proposal so that you can reference it later. Uche and her team were prompt in their delivery and even delivered the flowers to two locations. She set up the flowers so beautifully on our cake!

We received so many compliments all night regarding how nice everything looked. The flowers made a huge difference in the photos and everything just looked absolutely stunning! Thank you Oochay!

perfect day! Thank you
We chose Oochay because she provided the most competitive bid that complemented the vision of our Catholic wedding ceremony and reception—sophisticated yet understated. Her flower ...
arrangements were stunning. The bride’s and maid of honor’s bouquet, groom’s and best man’s boutonnieres, and bridal party flowers all complemented the color scheme. The altar flowers were perfect, as were the designs for the cocktail hour tables and wedding reception head table and dinner tables. The table flowers flawlessly complemented the flowers placed on the wedding cake. All of the flowers added a simple sophistication to both the chapel and reception venues. We are very pleased with Oochay’s designs and highly recommend her as a wedding florist. I’ve given Oochay four out of five stars, however, because of the minor miscommunication of when and who were to move the flowers to be repurposed from the wedding chapel to the reception venue. No one from Oochay’s staff was present at the end of the wedding ceremony to transport the flowers, so it quickly became the responsibility of the wedding coordinator’s staff. The flowers in the larger vases on each side of the altar were to remain at the chapel until after the wedding photography was completed. Unfortunately, the wedding coordinator was unaware of this arrangement and her staff moved the flowers shortly after the ceremony and before the photography session began. The altar was a little bare for some of the wide angle shots, however, the wedding chapel photos were still stunning. With all of the details, moving parts, and vendor staff supporting our wedding ceremony and reception, this was one detail that I wish Oochay had tended to. I remain appreciative of Oochay’s efforts and designs. We had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. Oochay’s flower designs were a part of that beauty.

compliments about my flowers. I was afraid to get a huge bouquet because I didn’t want to carry a heavy one, but Uche made a wonderful job on making sure it’s LIGHT AND GORGEOUS!!! Will definitely recommend her and her team to make your wedding, your DREAM WEDDING!

ried about my color scheme and if it’ll tie together beautifully. Well, it was more than I imagined. She captured our idea of simple yet elegant. I couldn’t believe how she made all the colors come to life and the flowers were just amazing!! Because of her I’m officially a flower lover. She is knowledgeable and efficient. If you’re looking for classy, elegant and memorable wedding, Designs by Oochay is a great choice. A choice we would gladly make again.
My husband and I got married this past May and selecting Designs by Oochay was a no brainer. We really wanted local talent that we vibed with and Uche's spirit and personality was ...
so pleasant and overall wonderful. She captured our vision immediately. When we she us our vision board it was so beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Our theme was non-traditional and focused on the meaning of a circle and its relation to eternity and never-ending love. She created floating circular wreaths for centerpieces and circular boutonnieres. It was a Pinterest Board dream come true. At the room reveal my husband was speechless and I was left in tears. The level of detail in the execution is priceless. She made our day so special!

t of the park. They surpassed all of my expectations and I was impressed by everything that her and her team created. Uche is very knowledgeable, professional, and responsive to any questions that you have. On top of all that, she is a delight to work with and is affordable. I highly recommend her for your wedding or any upcoming event.

VERYTHING covered. We worked with Uche during the whole process and enjoyed EVERY minute. Designs by Oochay came as recommendation from our Day of Coordinator, Jasmine Smith & Co. During the consultation phase we provided Uche with our vision and she provided us with various options that would meet our vision and/or enhance it. We believe that the cost of service was well worth the product. In addition to the day of services, we received a lovely “Welcome Package”, onsite table mock of our design, and additional support with our wedding day décor. We were in need of a sweetheart chair for our sweetheart table and Uche was able to provide us with a vendor named “Garden of Eden” that we hired.
During our table mock engagement, Uche came to the food tasting our caterer held to provide us the look for our centerpieces. That helped us a great deal as we were able to determine what look and feel our reception tables would have on our special day. Uche even provided recommnedations for table linen choices that would best complement her floral designs. Our guests, as well as us, can’t stop talking about the beautiful floral arrangements and accessories used as centerpieces during our reception. Adding the crystal décor and candles truly set the mood for our evening reception. We are truly appreciative of the service and professionalism Designs by Oochay and the team provided as they made our event beautiful. 100 percent courteous, attentive and accommodating. Designs by Oochay executed all florals arrangements above and beyond our expectations. We HIGHLY recommend Designs by Oochay for all of your floral needs! Unforgettable. Amazing. Breathtaking!

l throughout the planning process. I would definitely recommend designs by Oochay to anyone getting married!
Uche is extremely talented and easy to work with. Any time I had a new request or change to the original plan, the answer was always "absolutely, no problem." I didn't give Uche a ...
lot of direction as to what I wanted and I suggested some pretty off-season colors, to which Uche managed to still include while making everything still appear "spring-y." Her arrangements, bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages were absolutely STUNNING. It set the tone for the entire reception. The reason for 4 stars is only because I felt my bridal bouquet was a strange shape. After initially requesting a round bouquet, she showed me an oblong bouquet at the appointment. Then after talking further we decided on a cascading bouquet because I wasn't quite sure about the oblong shape. Upon receiving my bridal bouquet, instead of the cascading bouquet I had pictured, it looked more like the oblong bouquet I had already vetoed on its side. The flowers were still magnificent, it was just a strange shape and I would have liked to know more about what it would look like before the day of, or to just stick with the round bouquet from the beginning. I would overall recommend Uche to any bride looking for a very talented florist.

me up with a beautiful design that was what I was looking for just by looking at my Pinterest board. She immediately understood my vision.
On my wedding day, I was thrilled to see Uche's beautiful creations. She made a beautiful boxwood hedge wall with florals, omg it just made my wedding! The rest of the floral arrangements were beautiful and far exceeded my expectations. Uche added a few extra touches that were much appreciated. We have received so many compliments on how beautiful the wedding was, all thanks to the work of Uche and her team!
Other than the great work that Uche does, she is super welcoming and friendly. She listens to concerns and finds ways to address them. I am a happy client!

t board. She really took the time to understand what we liked, and filled in the blanks with her creativity where we just didn’t have a clue. Uche took care of draping and hanging instillations for us, and knocked our centerpieces our out of the park. Not only is she a friendly face who you can follow along with on Instagram (got a sneak peak of some of our florals!), she is beyond professional and extremely hard working! 100% would recommend Designs by Oochay for your next event!

t bummed that in order to have a mock design I would end up paying the actual price for one of the table set ups at the wedding. I understand that fresh flowers had to be purchased but they should somehow figure out how to offer this at a discounted price for already invested clients. I'm a tangible visual person so that would've helped. Uche did offer an at home consult in place of the mock design where I did get to see the vases in person, the votives and candles that definitely helped a lot. In the end I cant say enough great things about the service, the quality, the professionalism and the design of it all. Everything was absolutely AMAZING!

Words can not explain how thankful my husband and I are for Uche. Uche is amazing, her designs will leave you speechless. When I say that she made all our dreams come true, it’s ...
an understatement. Uche worked countless hours to understand our exact vision for the day. Once I began walking down the aisle I just couldn’t believe my eyes looking at all the detail in the ceremony site. I was again left speechless at the reception for our first look, it was everything I dreamed of and more. I highly recommend Uche, she will leave you amazed. Uche your hard work never goes unnoticed, we can not thank you enough for making our special day one to remember.
I absolutely cannot say enough amazing things about Uche and the DBO team. I told her my vision, my color palette, and my need for rustically beautiful and on the day of, I have a ...
photo of her handing me my bouquet that says it all.
My bouquet was out of this world stunning, the table arrangements were swoon worthy, and I don't even know how to put heart eyes on this review for the magnolia draping over the barn. Uche and her team 100% brought my vision and style to life.
She was a joy to work with and always on my team to make sure things were going to be exactly what I wanted. I wish my bouquet would've lasted forever (it still looks beautiful dried though!)
If you're looking for the best florist in the DMV area, Look no further. Uche is a DREAM.
Uche and her team did a wonderful job in helping make our wedding beautiful. Uche is incredibly organized and responsive.. and oh my goodness did I LOVE the cascading bouquet she ...
made for me. The details in her other arrangements were on point as well. The florals she provided to my mother and mother-in-law were part of a gold metal band which I thought was such a cool touch, and she had my flower girls looking extra adorable with their floral crowns :) Not only did she do an amazing job with our decor, but she also sent US a thank you gift for being clients which I thought was very sweet and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend DBO.

hands, and she turned it out! She came to meet us at the hotel to drop off my bouquet, the boutonnieres, and corsages, and she was punctual and very mindful of customer service. She left with a big hug and encouraging words to help us through the day. My bouquet was perfect, and the alter and aisle arrangements were stunning. They still looked amazing when they served double duty as our centerpieces during the reception. We couldn't have asked for more. Uche was a professional from start to finish, and we'd recommend her to anyone.

!) We trusted her completely and didn't even provide many specifics for flowers that we wanted. She used her obvious talent and creativity and delivered flowers that were beautiful and exactly in our taste and style! Everything from the bouquets to ceremony decorations to centerpieces were flawless. We couldn't have been happier!
My hubby and I were both honestly just speechless! Uche is amazing- her work and her as a person. When I say that she made all my dreams come true on our wedding day, it’s an under...
statement. She blew our minds to Jupiter and then Mars. We thank Uche so much, she literally made our whole wedding. When I began my walk down the aisle I just couldn’t believe my eyes looking at the ceremony site – JUST GORGEOUS! I was again blown away at the reception area (as Uche had some surprises up her sleeve) I also had to fight my own mother over my bouquet because it was so beautiful she wanted to keep it for herself! Also very important she worked extensively with me to tweak our budget to get the most out of it and in the end I just left everything to her because she works hard to understand exactly what your vision for your day is. Everyone keeps asking us who did our wedding décor because they had never seen anything like it, even the coordinators at our venue raved about her work. We HIGHLY recommend Uche, she will not disappoint you in anyway. We know for sure that God will bless this business and it will flourish beyond your wildest dreams. We love you Uche and thank you so much once again, we can never forget you and your work!
For starters the end result of decor and floral arrangements were absolutely beautiful the day of our wedding. Unfortunately, the customer service and professionalism was an issue ...
we experienced leading up to the wedding day.
First, as a vendor with a business specifically providing services for weddings it's typical to have brides which inquire about details concerning guess count fluctuations, details about decor, and anything else of importance. As a result her tone and the manner in which she responded became very off putting, which came across as Uche being irritated or bothered by our inquiries.
Lastly, the day of our wedding I was informed by my wedding planners Uche showed up almost two hours later then the scheduled set up time. The delay had a domino effect on other aspects of setting up for the wedding resulting in our wedding starting late and our wedding planners rushing to complete everything on time.
To conclude, my husband and I never received an apology or heard from Uche after all that took place. It may not seem as a big deal, however, customer service and extending professionalism along with being courteous goes a long way for any business. Overall what we received was subpar.

There are no words to express of happy I was with everything Uche and her team came up with.. She was able to capture my vision better than I could!
Thank you for your kind gesture of hand delivering my bouquet when I was getting ready! Watch out wedding world.. She is the best!
Can I give Designs by Oochay 10 stars! If I could I would. Aside from marrying my husband the best part of my wedding was the flowers and décor. From day one Uche helped my vision ...
come to life, she is very professional and worked within our budget. She helped me decide which flowers would go best for what I was looking for and I couldn’t have been happier with the results. My bouquet was simple and elegant exactly what I wanted. For our first look at the reception hall I almost cried it was so beautiful. Every little detail was executed to perfection. The color scheme, the lights and centerpieces were absolute breathtaking. Everyone was blown away at how gorgeous the décor was. I will recommend Designs by Oochay to everyone I know. Thanks again for making my day nothing short of a dream.
