Delano Scott Photography

communication before, during, and after the wedding to be minimal if not non-existent. His composition of bridal portraits, group photos, newlywed portraits, and detail shots were frankly poor and un-imaginative, especially compared to some of his other work I've seen in his portfolio. For a day that felt so incredibly special and unique to us, we felt that Delano brought the bare minimum and shot the day as if we were just another box to check. Also, an important note, we didn't hire a videographer and paid Delano for Super 8 footage. His video camera didn't work for our ceremony or cocktail hour, so he only captured our reception. He was prompt in refunding us, however, it's just something to be aware of in case this is your only form of video for the day. Additional notes: • Despite pre-planning being written in our contract, we had no planning meetings with Delano to discuss vision or expectations. There were a few emails sent by me to request a second-shooter and to send over a shots list at the recommendation of my planner, however, nothing was ever initiated by Delano and there were no in-depth planning emails or meetings. • Our venue was new to Delano (ie. he had never shot there before) and it showed. It didn't seem like he had scouted the venue prior and appeared unprepared, with no guidance on where to shoot our bridal party photos or where to find the best light. • The contract states photos will be delivered within 31 days of the event, however, ours were delivered late (by almost two weeks). This wouldn't have been an issue if he had communicated the delay prior. However, I had to reach out twice on the 31st day only to find out that we wouldn't be receiving the photos. • Delano's editing lacked an attention to detail. There were several photos from the reception where my bra / underwear were visible. It took me two seconds to remove these with my phone's built-in editor, however, this should have been caught and removed by our photographer. • Finally, I want to reiterate how disappointed we were with our detail shots, bridesmaid photos, bridal portraits, and newly wed portraits. The detail shots felt incredibly generic with zero curation to our event or the beautiful work of our other vendors. And while any posed photo comes with a certain amount of awkwardness and stiffness, Delano's presence and guidance did nothing to mitigate this and his group composition only seemed to amplify this. We still believe Delano is a talented photographer, however, we felt that we didn't receive the full extent of his creative ability, which is unfortunate.

list and open to changes and suggestions we had along the way. On the day of the wedding, he captured a ton of great documentary-style shots, along with portraits and group photos. He gave great directions for posing and showed us examples of his vision which was super helpful! We would absolutely recommend Delano again to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

ry clear and captured us as a couple beautifully. During the ceremony and reception he seamlessly blended in with the crowd and captured natural moments that really convey the feeling of actually being there. For film photography and a natural, free floating style you can’t do better than Delano!

a is incredible and his eye for detail in those special moments is unmatched. He captures all the intimate moments of your day and I feel like I can relive our wedding day over and over again through his photos, and I can’t wait to print as many of them as I can to fit all around our apartment! Truly the best there is!
