Booked this company for my wedding, they sounded great in the beginning, reassured me they will handle things and that i didnt have to worry, was very nice sounded super accommodat...
ing over the phone and though text convos, but after a few months of communicating, I would text to ask a few questions here and there and to my surprise I was canceled before my big day. All because I asked specific questions about the services she would be offering and offered what the venue had available. This really caught me off-guard and didnt make any sense to me, I simply wanted get a better understanding of what all would be provided on my big day, because the job description was a little vague and I didnt want her to show up and Im exspecting her to do things that are not in line with the services that she offers. Good thing the venue we booked already had the services she offered already built into the cost of the venue (which i did not realize at the time) or I would have been in a major jam.
Be very cautious when booking with her company, dont ask too many questions or you will get canceled, and also make sure you have a back up plan ready incase she does cancel on you at short notice.
The lack of value DSE provided for our wedding day was astounding and their absence of accountability and unprofessionalism in response to my wife’s dissatisfied review as a paying...
customer are laughable. All excuses, no apologies.
(BEWARE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS) We are blown away that they would try to take our bad review the “R” word route. Their remarks claiming that guests asked them about “the black man holding a black child” and asking if they were related is completely ridiculous to mention in response to our complaints about their lack of management of our day. If it was presented, you could have addressed your discomfort and we could have mended the situation.
Email correspondence- unlimited included in CONTRACT. Again, questions were left unanswered after multiple attempts. We were provided NO helpful suggestions for timeline etc NO reply to specific questions about insurance/ alcohol ins/ regulations, just replies about things they will NOT do.
Also on CONTRACT- being on site for 8 hours on event date. Were we insane to assume that being on site meant being hands on and involved with “making our day go on without a hitch” like DSE advertises? Cake being served -or even guests to help themselves- was not announced and the desert plates we provided were not brought to the cake table.
Also on CONTRACT- agrees to manage vendors in adherence to the provided timeline & instructions from client. Why would you complain about replenishing deserts? We hired you so the bride and groom and family can enjoy their day without being pulled away for these (easy) tasks.
Sure the DJ may be involved in lining up the bridal party but where were you? A bride should have a stress free day and all the help she could get. My wife prepared a beautiful wedding and deserved to have all the assistance possible, with help on standby from you and a game plan set proactively, NOT being questioned throughout the day while she is surrounded by family being asked what she needs you to do at overwhelming moments!!!
Again, as it was your job to “manage by the timeline” in the CONTRACT, you dropped the ball and won’t admit not relaying to Chef Mike that the couple wishes for dinner to be served at 5. He has heating devices and had been there since quite earlier in the day, the food wasn’t getting cold.
The photographer provided incredible service and photos but where were you if not providing extra help for the couple to gather family for photos etc? Yes my wife was setting up and saw him that morning as well as 100 close friends and loved ones from far and wide for our big day. We figured you would step in and manage the day as the hired “event planner” without needing to be asked to be present!
We completely understand that we opted for the basic package but $2300 is no small fee. We planned a beautiful wedding and had everything in place (despite literally no help from you as far as your “unlimited emails” w no substance or answers) and the cracks were not in the planning, we figured that out ourselves, the cracks were in your disappointing performance the day of.
Our “route taken” was to convey our dissatisfaction from our perspective as paying customers and we are not looking for a refund from ANY of the other vendors who provided excellent service but are communicating how we truly feel to you and would like a refund, after which we’ll offer to delete these reviews as a compromise, based on our horrible experience with you that took away from our wedding day.
I wish we would’ve seen these reviews sooner bc the worst things they are saying are true of our experience.
We were beyond unimpressed with Dayna Scott Events’ wedding planning a...
nd do not recommend them at all. We feel ripped off of $2300.
The worst part of working with them was their negligence during our reception.
We clearly communicated our desired timeline and it was not executed for the reception, and there was a significant amount of time that neither Dayna or Shanda were present or being hands on with the vendors and scheduled events that needed organized and overseen. My maid of honor’s toast/ speech was one of our most highly anticipated moments, and this was scheduled to happen before dinner was served. (I’ve been in bridal parties at other weddings, and I knew we would rather have our attention on our loved one’s speeches before food was sitting in front of us getting cold/ after we’d be free to eat and roam around with family after the toast.)
My MOH was present at the head tables eating with all of our bridesmaids and groomsmen present when dinner was served before the speeches and off of schedule.
During this time and while Dayna and Shanda were not in sight, the DJ’s 18-year-old daughter/ apprentice (Ally) was trying to stay on schedule and make sure the bridesmaids and groomsmen stayed where they were and kept in communication with us because it was toast time.
I walked away from my husband and friends at the head tables during this special moment of being gathered together, about an acre away and uphill across the yard to find them both sitting down and EATING on the deck at the house.
I hastily approached them and asked why neither of the two of them were present at the reception or overseeing the flow of our desired timeline and vendors as advertised. I was so mad and uncomfortable that I had to confront them about at least being PRESENT during these scheduled events that were turning into wasted time and disorganization in the reception/ guests wandering off.
They followed me back to the reception area, and I was so furious and upset about this during my maid of honor’s beautiful toast speech that you could see it all over my face. I feel that I majorly missed out on parts of my wedding and precious time with family and loved ones due to their lack of management.
I feel they could’ve stayed present and been more helpful during vendor moments, like communicating to the caterer about timeline, being there and more helpful to our bridal party for introductions and the ceremony and lining them up, and being close by during the photographer’s photos to offer to help us organize/ retrieve family members. Also, I wish they would’ve kept myself and the bridal party more clearly informed about when/ where they needed to be for introductions, photos, etc.
Our frustrations began early on in the planning process when we had to reach out several times with the same questions, some of which we never got advice or replies.
They did not check in every month like they said, and only sent a planning checklist in May for our Sept wedding that we started planning in Jan. We feel they were lazy and very minimally involved, and that we had to put forth all effort to show interest in proactively communicating the details with them that were important to us for our wedding day and were especially lackadaisical on the week leading up. The worst part is feeling like I missed out on precious time with family and loved ones on my wedding day

tions in the delivery. They were extremely professional and we had an instant connection to their vibe! Their positivity and enthusiasm were infectious and exactly what we were looking for! I highly recommend them for your events!
I would just like to echo my wife's review below. Sadly, none of the groomsmen let alone myself knew who the coordinator team was until they said goodbye at the end of the night. W...
e got ready on sight which was in the timeline my wife made and shared with her. We originally got on the wrong shuttle, which caused us to run late. I am not saying she could have prevented this entirely, but if we knew who she was or that her team was present, we could have asked for help. When we arrived to the ceremony with moments to spare, we had to get our boutineers on quickly and had no idea how to, and no coordinator in sight to help since they did not show up.
Please be very cautious when booking this company, as we, our bridal party, & families were very disappointed & did not receive nearly the day of services we were contracted for. I...
f you need someone to place decor and tray your cookies- great. There is a lot we can speak of that we are disappointed with, but I will highlight a few major concerns. Dayna is SO nice, and our first phone call went great when booking. A few weeks out I received a timeline, décor, and vendor questionnaires. I asked for help with a timeline, (which is in the contract) and set up a phone call. The phone call was quick and easy, she told me to send her over the times I knew. From there, my first issue- exactly what I send was placed into a google doc and no timing of events was actually received which is what I needed help on. My photographer and videographer helped me with the timeline TWO days before the wedding. After that call, I did not hear anything from her. After the fact when I raised my concerns, I was told that communication is as much or as little as I directed it. However I personally feel that during the wedding week when I have a thousand other things to do, I should not be the one initiating contact to check in with you, when that is your job. Second, her team did not show up to the Church ceremony despite being given the time and address, and it being in the contract for the day. The first day of communication I received was a text saying the décor was set up and they would see us when we arrived back. The thought never crossed my mind that this meant they weren't attending. I was SHOCKED. The reasoning I was given was that the church was contacted and they said she was not needed there. The church wedding director said they never heard from a coordinator. Whatever the case may be, I was never made aware of any of this. If someone tells you you're not needed, it should probably be the bride that hired your team, or I at least should have been asked. There was also a section on my décor sheet that listed the church items, which I had to have a family member and bridesmaids set up moments before the ceremony. Next, & quite possibly my biggest disappointment, is my husband and bridal party had NO idea who Dayna was. The contract states the team will handle any hiccups, but I am unsure how anyone is supposed to bring hiccups to light when they don’t know who the coordinators is. We both got ready on site, which was in the timeline. I thought, maybe they know the girls have it together & maybe they went and introduced themselves to the men...The explanation I received is the team was not used to the groom wanting to be communicated with and that they did introduce themselves, which my husband said never happened & he had no idea who she was. The last major concern is, multiple of my vendors have said they did not know who she was, & never received any prior communication with her. I had to handle multiple text messages day of from vendors. Dayna told me that her team sent out an email to vendors prior (which was also contracted). When the other vendors I spoke to told me they received no prior communication, yet she is saying there was, it makes it very hard to believe. Luckily, none of our small hiccups turned into big ones. I reached out and outlined my concerns cross referenced with the signed contract, requesting a partial refund. We received a passive aggressive response and unfortunately are in the process of seeking a refund further.
Book Dayna with caution - We hired Dayna Scott events as a day-of-coordinator after doing such an amazing job with my sisters wedding a couple of years back, but unfortunately we d...
id not get that same service for our wedding this October.
First and foremost, and our chief complaint, Dayna was nearly 2 hours late and LEFT BEFORE THE CEREMONY. Our contract clearly states that she would be there to help with anything until "Dinner was underway and handled." She sent me a text message at 3:50 pm thanking me for trusting her with the biggest day of my life (when I was walking down the aisle at 4 pm.) But, as I was in a wedding dress and heading to the ceremony, I of course did not see this message until hours later after I had been looking all over for her at both the ceremony and reception. There were several hiccups due to weather and travel that was her job to handle. It was a huge added stress to a day we had been looking forward to for 2 years.
On top of not fulfilling her contract, she was pretty difficult to communicate with. Prior to the wedding, I actually never spoke to her whether that be on the phone, email, or text until 1 day before the wedding. Even then she had my phone number mixed up with the caterer. All communication prior to our wedding was done through her assistant Jordan. Jordan sent me paperwork to fill out as to how I wanted everything to be set up, to which I answered everything in detail. I also asked Jordan that if I sent her a script for the ceremony, if she could just help time it day-of to which she said was no problem and to send it along to both her and Dayna. I never received a response to that email. Arriving to our reception in the pouring rain, the first thing I notice is all of the decor I spent over a year picking out and purchasing had never made it out of the container. Table runners that I purchased were still in their packaging. Vintage brass and glass candlestick holders that were to be placed on each table were never put out. Jack-o-lanterns were never lit, which we spent the week prior carving.
On top of all of the money we spent on items that never got put out, she never introduced herself to my husband... He never saw her once at our wedding!! He was not alone. More than half our vendors were shocked to find out at the end of the wedding that we even had a coordinator there at all because she never spoke with them.
We did express our concerns to Dayna after the wedding, to which she responded to by blaming the caterer and venue for all the mishaps. She "understood our frustrations" and refunded us only a quarter of what we paid. Reminder, she only spent about half the time contractually agreed upon. Overall, we are highly disappointed that we didn't receive the same services my sister did years ago and are thankful our other vendors were able to pick up the slack.
Hiring Dayna to be our wedding coordinator was a no brainer. We immediately hit it off as she is very easy to get along with. Dayna was my right hand girl for a year and a half as ...
she helped make my dream wedding a reality. I’m not like most brides as I did not have a Pinterest board or really many ideas as to how I wanted my day to be, all I knew was I wanted one big party for all of our family and friends to enjoy. Numerous calls, texts and emails were made throughout the process where she presented me with amazing vendors to look at and reach out to. Whenever I needed her she was there. The day of was incredible and I would not change a thing. Dayna worked meticulously behinds the scenes and made sure I stayed sane and was not bothered by the small details and questions that were to come that day. I literally showed up and everything I wanted my wedding to be was right in front of me. My guests continue to reach out and tell us how incredible our wedding was. This is largely in part because of Dayna’s hard work and commitment to make our day perfect. If you need a wedding planner Dayna is your girl!
Working with Dayna & Shanda was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Not only were they both a pleasure to work with, they truly made the day smoother than I could have...
imagined. Everyone always says to prepare for things to go wrong on your wedding day, but these two made sure nothing did (or resolved it without involving me!). They made our space look beautiful, and were rock stars getting everything packed up at the end of the night. I truly cannot recommend them enough!
I enjoyed getting to work with Dayna. She’s such a nice person and was so pleasant in every interaction. She’s a stand up business woman and I really appreciated that about her. Da...
yna came to our meeting/tasting with the venue coordinator just weeks before her due date, she took notes and had good input, and we were grateful to have her there. Unfortunately we had some complaints about the handling of our wedding by Shanda while Dayna was out on maternity leave. However, despite the challenges leading up to the wedding, the day of went perfectly. I have no complaints about the hard work that I know Shanda and Katelynn carried out on the day of my wedding. My decorations were set up correctly, they worked hard to make sure things ran on time etc. Shanda and Katelynn were sweating running around the hotel, there for whatever we needed, tore down the decorations.. basically everything you’d want a DOC to do. And I don’t want to let that go unrecognized.
However, our complaints arose because we paid for a premium planning package and unfortunately the planning aspect just fell short. In the weeks leading up to my wedding, I had to initiate all contact with Shanda to do the items listed in the contract. No vendor contracts were collected, no communications database was created, and a master schedule was only finally made upon my request. I was still vetting emails from vendors days before my wedding, but per the contract, she should have taken over as point of contact two weeks out. I actually had to ask her multiple times to send an email to them to take over, and to respond to emails I was getting from them because I was so stressed. No one helped me with the final to do list, no vendors or family got a schedule sent to them (well, they did, but I made and sent it - after I asked them to help with a draft, which they did), and Shanda was surprised to hear that I needed her to do our welcome party setup despite it being literally outlined in the contract. I felt the need to make an extensive spreadsheet of how I wanted my decorations set up because no one kept track of decorations at any point and the sheet I got to fill out only asked what I wanted returned to me, nothing to tell them how to set up. It left me feeling angry and disappointed in the weeks leading up to my wedding, and that’s not how a bride should feel.
I spoke with Dayna over the phone about all of this, and she was very receptive to the feedback. She kindly refunded our money to reflect the services we received, effectively lessening the package to a day of coordination package. We were pleasantly surprised of the offer for a refund, greatly appreciated it, and felt it was very fair. Dayna was open to hearing our perspective, understood our complaints, and had already started writing some policies surrounding some of our complaints. We really hope that the expectations set for the team in the future help ensure brides have a great experience no matter who their coordinator is, because we know how much Dayna cares about her clients!
Dayna and Shanda are solutions women!
As can be expected with any big event, there were a few hiccups on our special day. Napkins missing from our rental order: Dayna and Shanda w...
ent on a run to get a disposable alternative that meant my guests weren’t wiping their hands on their clothes or the table linens. Rain starting an hour before the ceremony: Dayna and Shanda went to bat for my husband and I when the venue coordinator pushed back about moving our outdoor ceremony to the indoor space we were promised. They got hands on and moved tables and chairs and decorations to ensure we had the ceremony we dreamed of and stayed dry, even if that meant butting heads with the venue coordinator! They coordinated with my DJ when he arrived to make sure he was able to flow with the location changes. Anything I needed on the day they helped solve or make happen and for that I am forever grateful.
Now I will preface the following by saying I am a VERY organized type A planner myself and was an anxious out of town bride. I hired a coordinator/planner at my husbands request because he knew I would have tried to do it all and enjoyed my day far less. Perhaps this has skewed my perspective but nonetheless….I had contracted for full service planning. And again while I don’t mind and often prefer to communicate with people personally to ensure I’m getting my wishes and my vision, I guess I anticipated more communication and check in leading up to our day to make sure I was staying on track/budget (though I wasn’t actively seeking it either, so I’m partly to blame).
We got within 1 month of the wedding and I looked to schedule a call with Dayna to start collecting information and hashing it out. We finally spoke about 3-4 weeks from the wedding but still didn’t really accumulate all of the information. I had compiled a lot of the necessary data/information and had hard copies of everything, I just wasn’t local so most of my information was digital. surely that may have prevented our napkin debacle, but they hadn’t even known they were ordered since they didn’t have the contract.
I had organized boxes of decor and extras labeled with what all was in them and had sent pictures of the venue with comments about how and where I wanted things. Some of that wasn’t executed or even put out though it still looked beautiful. At the end of the night things were kind of just placed in any box making it harder to sort out once it made it back home, and some things as a result were left at the venue. Also as the night came to a close and we went to pack up, our coordinators had left, without really a word. My husband, parents and bridal party were left to pack up vehicles in our dress attire just hoping that we had everything we had brought to the venue!
Overall, our day ran smoothly. They helped make our rehearsal with a new officiant look well done. Their coordinating kept us on time. They were tentative to our needs and desires day on the day of and helped to execute and solved problems on the spot. I do think a little more preemptive communication/attention to detail would have gone a long way.
If I could rate 1000 stars, I would! I still have family members and friends talking about the excellent job Dayna and Shanda did and we got married over a month ago!
I interviewed...
a few other wedding planners before I found out about Dayna and they never felt like a good fit. While (most of them) were friendly, they just never made me feel confident. Then I found Dayna and after the first phone call, she lifted a weight off my shoulders! Talking to Dayna put me at ease and I knew we would be in good hands on our wedding day!
The weeks leading up to our wedding, Dayna was available to answer any questions we had and help us out. We had family drama going on beforehand and she even gave advice on how to navigate that without hurting anyone's feelings. I was also really concerned about our timeline and coordinating that with all of our vendors, I reached out to Dayna and within a few hours she had a timeline for us!
The week of the wedding, Dayna reached out to me several times just to check on me and make sure I was okay and reassured me that everything was going to be perfect!
I can't even explain how fantastic they were on our wedding day. I never got a chance to see all of our decor together before the wedding and I let Dayna freestyle it and she made everything look STUNNING! Dayna checked on me several times throughout the night to make sure I was okay and if I needed anything. She even would catch my eye contact if I needed pulled away from a situation. Their level of professionalism was top notch! I wish I had another event that I could use Dayna and her team for, they were that amazing!

he best at what they do. They are experts who deliver with poise, happiness, calmness, and fun. Dayna and her team were always there to answer questions, provide guidance, and give me reassurance during times that I may have felt stressed.
Trust me when I say I am NOT a planner. Logistics and timelines are truly my weakest point - this team has seriously got your back. I am so, so impressed. They kept everything on time, and made sure nothing was forgotten.
Also - they TRAVEL. They traveled to be with us on our wedding day. Shanda and Kaytlynn took so much stress of me. Even going to the lengths of helping my MOH tide-to-go my dress when they entire train got dirty. They also put my veil in for me! I had so much fun with them.
If you are looking for a sign to partner with a planner / day of coordinator - this is *seriously* it, and this is your team.

In comes Dayna! She made the decision so easy. As soon as we finished our consultation call, we knew we wanted to hire her. She calmed all of my worries throughout the planning process, answered all of our big and small questions, and was such a big help overall. Her team was equally as helpful the day of with decorating and packing everything up at the end. She worked with all of our other vendors and the venue beautifully.
They were truly just so attentive to us and every detail of our wedding and personable and helpful I don't know how we would have pulled our day off without any issues without them.

ading up to the day of our wedding, making herself available for questions and brainstorming sessions, our final walkthrough for our venue, and for timeline preparation. Her team also did a fantastic job making sure all the small details of our day were taken care of and that any issues were addressed quickly so my husband and I remained as calm as possible and could enjoy our day to the fullest. They stayed until they very end of the night to help make sure everything got packed up and nothing got left behind. Thank you, Dayna!
I hired Dayna and Chanda as a Day of Coordinator for my wedding in April 2021. It was one of the best decisions to hire her team to take care of all of the little details such as ...
helping to decorate, recording our ceremony live stream and packing everything up at the end of the day. This really allowed us to enjoy the day completely!
Wow, I am truly so happy I hired Dayna and her team to coordinate our wedding weekend. She was there for me during the planning (and rescheduling) process to sound ideas, check-in ...
with me, and then truly nail everything during the wedding weekend. When she says she is there to help with ANYTHING, she is truly there to do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to make your day perfect. I cannot recommend her and the team enough to have with you on your big day. Hiring a day-of coordination team is so worth it because even if your venue has a coordinator, their first priority is the venue and the event, not always you. Dayna will be by your side throughout the entire day to ensure you have everything YOU need, make sure everything is on track and running smoothly, and handling things so you can have a worry-free wedding day. Thanks to Dayna and her team for making our day perfect!!

She didn't forget a single thing and even reminded us of everything we'd forgotten. Cassie and I could not be happier - and that's saying a lot when you're dealing with not one, but two brides! She's A BALL OF FUN TOO! Made us laugh, smile, and relax throughout our incredibly stressful wedding weekend. @Dayna, you're incredible and I wish you tons of luck and great success in your continued business as a planner and coordinator. If we need anything in the future, you're our first phone call!

So, fast forward 5 months when my best friend and I were planning a gender reveal party for my first baby, we knew we needed Dayna to help so we could live in the moment and enjoy the day with friends and family. It was nice not having to worry about the little things that feel like big things during a party (decorations, food & drink replenishment, & last minute hiccups). Dayna’s husband even dressed up like Santa Claus, it was epic. Dayna always goes above and beyond for her clients and by the end of your event and planning, she is your new bestie. However, when Dayna came recommended by a friend of mine who was also getting married, I decided to try the DOC method to finish up with my plans for a VERY detailed themed wedding. Dayna was the calm I needed every time something felt overwhelming, and her “let me help,” and “I got you” attitude was unwavering throughout the entire planning process & event itself. She did not miss one beat, whether something was going a bit behind schedule, a supply was missing, or a dessert order got messed up. She jumped in and helped fix it all! There were no snags whatsoever to my day, and if there was anything that almost fell apart, I never knew about it. I got to relax and smile and take in all of the whirlwind love and joy that is a wedding, all thanks to Dayna and her staff. Dayna’s crew matched her in willingness to do whatever was needed, and they showed up early to put the finishing touches on the reception venue & cookie table. I could not have pulled off our wedding theme so flawlessly without these talented, friendly, and wonderful women! You will not regret working with them on your special day. <3

ay with how helpful she was on our special day. She took charge at our rehearsal which helped us to stay on track with a very tight schedule. On our wedding I had to worry about absolutely NOTHING because of how on top of it Dayna was. I got multiple comments on how I was such a calm bride and that would not have happened with out Dayna. She did everything I asked for and managed guest and venue questions. My mom also told me how Dayna kept checking in with her throughout the day to see if she needed anything. Dayna is kind, personal, and professional. My husband and I could not be more grateful for the services she provided. If you do not book her, you are missing out!
