Getting my wedding dress altered at Davis Imperial Cleaners was one of the best decisions I made about our wedding. I do not live in the Chicagoland area, but was getting married t...
here. I live about 3 hours away. I purchased my dress in Atlanta. I reached out to a Chicago salon that sells my dress's designer to ask about their recommendations for alterations. My dress had A LOT of beading so I was very particular about who would take care of it. They directed me to Davis Imperial Cleaners as that is where they send their brides. Iana was absolutely wonderful and I quickly found myself looking forward to traveling to Chicago for my 3 fittings. She made the process so easy by clearly explaining what was needed, giving suggestions and advice, and generally was just fun to be around! I was actually sad picking up my dress because I realized my fittings really had come to an end. She created a pretty intricate bustle (ballroom style) that had 17 ribbons to tie and 4 buttons. She clearly numbered everything and made us take a video of her clearly explaining how to bustle my dress before the reception. That was a life saver as it took 3 friends and watching her video (again) to pull me together. The dress fit GREAT and the bustle stayed up! I really cannot recommend Davis enough for alterations, and I especially cannot recommend Iana enough for anything and everything! Thank you, Iana for becoming one of the favorite parts of my wedding planning process!
I enjoyed working with Iana for my dress alternation. She provided itemized pricing so that I could decide which items to do. She truly cares and is also skillful. She was very nic...
e, adjusted shoulder straps and cups multiple times, and pinged the dress to show me various ways of bustle etc. Everything she said she would do was completed in each fitting. After two consultations and four fittings, my sample gown turned out to be perfect! I did not plan to wear my wedding dress for first dance, but decided to do so as we practiced the dance during cocktail hour. The bustle worked out very well!
I definitely recommend Davis Imperial for wedding dress alteration! Thanks Iana!
Davis Imperial did an impeccable job with my wedding dress alterations. Iana made sure that no detail was missed and that my dress fit and looked perfect! Iana was extremely nice a...
nd helpful and made me feel so comfortable and reassured throughout the process. I highly recommend them for any alterations. They even altered my mom and sister's fully beaded dresses. The dresses turned out amazing! I have also used them for dry cleaning and everything came out perfect. THANK YOU!
I can not say enough good things about my experience working with the Davis Imperial team and their head seamstress Iana for my wedding dress alterations! From my initial consultat...
ion, Iana showed me so much patience and care. Moving forward, each fitting was better then the next. After buying a sample of my dream dress (which was about 8 sizes too big and 5 feet too long!) I was amazed at what Iana did in order to assure that it would fit me perfectly. Even in the last month she fit me in for additional fittings just make sure that I was absolutely satisfied with the end product. If I could wear my wedding dress everyday I would that's how much I loved it. If you are still in the phases of looking for someone to alter your wedding dress, run do not walk to Davis Imperial!

I cannot say anything more amazing about any vendor than my experience working with Iana for tailoring for my wedding dress. She was absolute perfection. Starting from the first ap...
pointment she was incredibly patient and understanding, waiting for me even though I was running late and giving great recommendations and options for the bustle and the whole process. Every appointment, the dress was ready to go to view the new changes since the last time. She was so professional and easy to work with throughout. I was very unsure about sweing on appliqué so she pinned it in and only sewed everything at the final appointment so that each time I could make changes and nothing was permanent. She really worked so hard to make sure I was happy with it at the end, she was flexible and her work came out so beautiful, my dress looked like a million bucks! So so happy!
There are not enough words available to express how happy I am with Davis Imperial! If you are wondering who to trust your wedding dress with, stop looking - you've found the best ...
option in the city right here and they are worth every single penny!! My dress fit like a glove and I got so many compliments. Iana is such a joy to work with and she knows her stuff! Every time I had a question no matter how big or small, she knew exactly what to do and suggested the best course of action. Even when I changed my mind on the bustle type and had some last minute adjustments (due to some stress related weight loss) they were incredibly professional and took care of it all. The delivery process is so helpful and one less thing to worry about. Davis Imperial also made masks for our bridal party and everyone loved them! Truly everything from beginning to end was amazing! Thank you Iana and the team at Davis Imperial for playing such an important part in our big day!
I found Davis Imperial when I called Bhldn for recommendations on where to get my Estelle wedding dress altered. The alterations team at Davis Imperial were fantastic and a breeze ...
to work with when I brought in my wedding dress. I found the appointment times easy and convenient, and had no issues finding times to work with my schedule - which is saying a lot given how hectic the weeks leading up to your wedding can be. When one of the cups on my dress was not laying correctly, they fit and refit the fabric until it was perfect. Upon picking up my dress after alterations were complete, they sent me with an emergency kit to cover any potential mishaps on the big day. (Thankfully I didn’t need it!) My dress fit like a glove and I felt absolutely stunning in it. The team even sent a giftcard after the wedding day with their congratulations, which I will definitely be using when I have my wedding dress hemmed and made into an anniversary dress. Prices were reasonable and clearly stated at every step along the way. I never felt pressured for add ons or extras. I would absolutely recommend them if you are looking for someone to trust to have your wedding dress altered!
I loved my experience with Davis Imperial !
They did such a great job altering my wedding dress and it was such a easy process! I would recommend this place to everyone!
Davis Imperial are the real deal and the experts. I had my dress pressed here prior to the Wedding and it was so nice that I could have it delivered directly to my hotel!!

actly how I wanted with it being so large, but Iana at Davis Imperial Cleaners is amazing! My wedding dress turned out EXACTLY how I wanted - it was taken in, shortened, bustled beautifully and she even added straps that looked like they were created when the dress was made. In addition to my wedding dress, I brought in an older dress of my grandma's to be updated so I could wear it to the rehearsal dinner. I couldn't believe it - the dress looked like new and they were able to alter even the old material! I will bring every alternation back to this location, they are incredible! Thanks, Iana!

nd went through 4 different fabrics to make sure they picked THE perfect material. I never felt so beautiful, and while yes it was on the pricey side, you get what you pay for. They were meticulous and made sure it was perfect before they gave it back to me. If you want to be stress free about your dress, this is the place to hire.

tings and the service was always great. At the final fitting we realized I lost more weight than expected and we had to take the dress in just a days before the wedding. Instead of that making me nervous Davis helped calm me and ensure this would keep the strapless gown from falling. It was a perfect fit!
Wow! What a find. This place is THE BEST. I wore separates for my wedding day: an intricately beaded bodysuit and seven layer skirt...needless to say, they had their work cut ou...
t for them (not to mention me losing ten pounds between my first consultation and final fitting). I am beyond impressed with how perfectly and efficiently the Davis team altered my attire, and even added extras like hidden hooks to ensure the bodysuit stayed attached to the skirt, and a ribbon. At the last minute I opted to purchase a miniskirt to change into during my reception, and they did some minor alterations to that at no additional charge. I live out of state but my wedding was in Chicago, so they were really great at working with me to ensure I had proper fittings when I was in town. On top of everything, they delivered my dress to the wedding venue 24 hours before the wedding, and it included an emergency kit just in case. My dress turned out PERFECTLY and I am incredibly happy with the choice to work with them. Look no further than Davis for your alterations!

e doing. I am happy with their service and I highly recommend them for you to use. On a side note - for those brides, grooms and all wedding party members who want to lose weight and look their best during the wedding day , I did the 30 day challenge with money back guarantee and I lost 20 lbs in the program. If you want to do it I encouraged you to contact iliah06@yahoo.com. She will help you just like how she helped me. I just want to share this so brides can look and feel their best on there wedding day.

. From start to finish, the staff was professional and a pleasure to work with. Although my dress didn’t need a ton of work, I still felt like they were very attentive to detail and made sure everything was to my liking. It was a bit on the pricier side, but it was definitely worth it to have the piece of mind that my dress was in good hands. I would definitely recommend their services and plan to take my dress back for preservation!

, however needed to add a fitting a few days before the wedding to take in a bit more. They were so accommodating and so value what they do. My dress looked amazing and fit like a glove. When I picked it up they provided me with an emergency kit that included, buttons, beads, sequins, pins, band aids, safety pins, a sewing kit, potpourri, double stick garment tape, and a spot cleaner! What a nice surprise! They are a little pricey, but totally worth it. I would definitely recommend their services!

They’re well worth the price, because everything fit like a glove. I’ve taken other dresses there now because the experience with my wedding dress was so great.

I had 5 fittings over the course of 4 months and am so so grateful for the experience. The folks at Davis are super precise and careful with the Whole process ensuring you are happy with the alterations each step of the way.
My dress needed a last minute fix due to my changing mind and they were so gracious to work with me until the
dress fit exactly as I Wanted. I felt amazing on my Wedding day because Virginia and her team made my dress to fit my body and personality. So much thanks to Her and her team.

I stopped my search of finding a tailor after my visit to Davis. I don't know if they are the most affordable, but the confidence and peace of mind their shop gave me was worth every penny.
If you are particular about your dress, or want to ensure the most perfect fit -- go to the folks at Davis!
Davis did an amazing job on the alterations for my wedding dress! I got my dress at Glamour Closet in Chicago and they recommended Davis Imperial Cleaners to me. When all was said ...
and done: I got a cleaning, press, alterations, bustle and they put in bra cups into my dress. The girl who helped me did a fantastic job! She showed me different style options for my bustle, took pictures and let me walk away to think about them afterwards. Appointments were made a few times before the final day and each time was concerned I was happy with the work she did on my dress. My only con would be it was a bit pricey but at the same time, I wanted my wedding dress to be perfect and fit comfortably so I think the price was worth it.

first appointment (I believe I had 4) and I loved how I had a lot of time to make decisions. The dress turned out perfect on my wedding day and they even deliver the dress the day before your wedding so you don’t need to pick up. It was a bit pricey, but I didn’t call around so I’m not sure how it compares to other places (it’s probably just Chicago prices). I highly recommend their team for your dress alterations!

oo big, but on my wedding day it fit like a glove! The dress was almost ready to go after 1 fitting, but they really listened and fixed all the little details I needed changed. I'm so pleased with the job that they did on my dress, including altering a tricky lace hem. The price for alterations and cleaning was about $1200 (yikes!!), but it was worth it to be able to drop the dress off about 7 months before the wedding and not have to worry about it until it got delivered to my parents house the week before the wedding. I was able to easily schedule as many fittings as I wanted and Ketura was also so pleasant and helpful to work with. I'm so glad that I trusted Imperial with my dress!

ll you the price that it will cost, then when you are shocked they can return it to you but not that day ofcourse, and if you are like me and wanted a fresh steamed out dress rught before the wedding day, there is no time to change locations at that point. So, I was forced to pay it, as they would not alter the price at all or press only the parts I wanted. It is not their policy to listen to the customer. Highly recommend staying away from this place. The Dress Doctor was the referral. Not good for them either... Crazy!

at they had to clean the whole dress in order to get the stain out. We agreed - it took a month - but the dress was clean and pressed and delivered to my parents house - it looked great. They did give a little emergency day kit which was a nice personal touch. If your dress is precious -they certainly took good care of it and handled it well. Expensive - but I never worried about the overall care of my dress - I knew it was in good hands!
