Hi, I’m Daniel Jay, a Boston-bred wedding photographer now based in Philadelphia.
I live for capturing the genuine and candid moments that make your special day truly unforgettable. My goal is to create timeless images while blending seamlessly into the background, ensuring an authentic approach to documentation.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me making the most of every moment with my family. Whether we’re tackling home projects or exploring our favorite spots to visit, eat, and shop. These cherished times remind me of the importance of framing life’s precious memories.
I’m also an art enthusiast, constantly diving into different forms of creativity. Art fuels my imagination and enhances my photography, giving each shot a unique touch.
And let’s not forget my love for Batman! The iconic storytelling and visuals from the Dark Knight inspire me to bring a unique and creative perspective to my life, work, and collection. I’m a big fan!
Combining these passions allows me to approach each wedding with a fresh and inspired mindset.

every meaningful moment, emotion, and detail with incredible artistry. Daniel’s eye for the perfect shot and his ability to capture the atmosphere of each environment truly brought our wedding day to life in the photos. We’re so grateful for the memories they preserved so beautifully. Highly recommend Daniel Parlante Photography to anyone looking for professional, heartfelt, and stunning wedding photography!

one, rather he catered to what the bride/groom wanted for their special day. He was kind an courteous to our wedding party and guests alike. His work is incredible and I am so pleased with how our photos turn out! I cannot recommend him enough!
Dan was our main photographer and did a phenomenal job overall- we highly recommend him!
Before the wedding, he worked closely with us to understand what types of shots we wanted ...
and what was important to us. He went above and beyond to make sure we were able to get permission to take pictures in a nearby park that we really liked. He even spent some time scoping out good picturesque spots beforehand.
We picked Dan from out-of-state, so we weren't able to do engagement photos with him. Despite this, we were immediately at ease when he showed up on the day of our wedding. He did a great job of capturing special moments while getting ready without being intrusive or disruptive.
After the ceremony, Dan was sure to get all of the formal family shots we had requested, and paid close attention to details like lighting and even the glare on peoples' glasses. He then took the two of us to the aforementioned park and was really helpful with suggesting different poses for us (something we are terrible at ourselves!), both formal and fun. At the reception, he and his second shooter captured many of the details (cake, decorations, etc), while also capturing photos of ALL of our guests having a great time, which is something we were really excited to see after we got our photos back. He also snuck us out for a few minutes during the reception to take some beautiful nighttime shots.
After the wedding, Dan was timely in getting our edited photos back to us, which was great because the holidays were coming up and we really wanted to share photos with our families. He worked with us to make a few modifications to the photos to highlight certain details, which really demonstrated his dedication to making sure we had the best photos possible. Overall we are so happy with our pictures, both the quality and the quantity.
Lastly, Dan prepared our wedding album for us using our favorite pictures from the day. He again demonstrated dedication to his work by going back and forth with us several times right before the holidays to switch around the ordering/sizing of some of the photos. We absolutely love what we ended up with! Anyone would be lucky to have Dan as a wedding photographer!
If you are in need of a photographer, look no further, Dan is AMAZING. He honestly was one of the best parts of my wedding day. He ensured photo sessions went smoothly and directed...
everyone where to go in a calm and professional manner. We had a lot of fun; it wasn't stressful or awkward at all. From our first conversation until the actual day, everything was seemless and professional. Dan eased my mind with solutions for the things I was stressed about, and he listened and executed exactly what kind of pictures I wanted. We received our pictures in a timely manner and they are stunning! I will hire Dan again for any other photo needs (fingers crossed he's available) and I am always referring him to anyone getting married. Not only is he is an amazing person, he is exceptional at his craft.

nt session was included in our package, and it was great for all of us to be able to meet in person and to also get a first hand look at his work. Neither myself or my husband have had professional photos taken, but from the jump Dan was extremely laid-back, easy to work and communicate with. He made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. He is extremely passionate about photography and getting the most perfect and creative shots. Dan and I communicated throughout the entire wedding planning process via email, text, and on the phone. I started following him on Instagram and the beginning of the wedding planning and loved seeing his work over the months – it made me so excited for our day! He sent me a survey to ensure we went over all the details for the day of. I felt extremely confident leading up to the wedding because I knew him and I were on the same page! The day of the wedding was an absolute breeze working with Dan and he made our day so much fun!!! It really felt like I was hanging with a friend the whole day. Many people complimented me on how attentive he was during the wedding, making sure he got all the special and funny moments. We got our photos super quick (just under 3 weeks!) and we are absolutely in love with them. The shots speak for themselves, there is such a variety and I cannot stop looking back at them with tears in my eyes because he captured the day so well and it takes me right back. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, look no further! Dan was one of my favorite vendors to work with on the day of the wedding, and also during the months leading up to it due to his work ethic and awesome personality. Thank you, Dan for everything!!!!

on't regret hiring him. He truly cares about his clients and their stories, and it shows.
My now-husband and I can't say enough wonderful things about Dan! From the get-go, he was communicative and responsive to any questions we had. We were planning our wedding from a ...
distance, and he went out of his way to meet with us on the fly when we were in town and even scouted our venue for the best photo spots.
His enthusiasm for our wedding throughout the planning process and on the big day was so uplifting and reassuring. We felt so comfortable with Dan guiding the way, and his eye for light, color, and creative angles made for the most amazing shots!
Several guests commented on how professional and fun he was during the wedding, and the beautiful, creative and unique photos speak for themselves. Hiring Dan was hands-down one of the best decisions we made for the wedding. Thank you, Dan!

experience. He really came through; our photos are GORGEOUS! We really enjoyed working with Dan - he was easy to communicate with and always accessible. I appreciated his flexibility and guidance as details for the wedding day started to come together. On the day of the wedding Dan brought great energy, helped us move through our photos at the exact pace and speed we wanted (quickly), and captured some really great moments while being completely unobtrusive. He quickly learned the names of our family members and was easy for everyone to work with! Several members of our wedding party commented on what a great choice we had made for our photographer - and that was BEFORE they saw the photos. We are just thrilled with them and with our choice for photographer.

re on the hunt for a wedding photographer.
It was such a pleasure working with Dan on the day of our wedding. He made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera which was an added bonus! My husband and I are pretty laid-back people, and so is Dan, so it was nice to have someone that matched our personalities. From the first telephone call with him, to the first meeting with him, and then finally our wedding day, we knew that we made the right choice for our wedding photographer. Prior to our wedding day, we told Dan what types of pictures we wanted, etc. and he captured everything so beautifully. We couldn’t have been more thankful to have had Dan be a part of our special day.
Throughout the wedding planning process, Dan was so responsive and helpful with any questions we had. I do a lot of my communication through email so emailing with Dan was a breeze since he would answer an email that I sent him within an hour. This stood out to me since I had other vendors who weren’t as responsive and it was quite frustrating.
Dan was beyond what we imagined our wedding photographer would be. He was respectful, generous, funny, and made sure he captured everything we wanted, and more. You know you had an amazing wedding photographer when you get the final album back and start crying happy tears looking back at all the photos (guilty!). A wedding photographer is one of the most important people to have on your wedding day since he/she will be capturing the moments that you will look back on forever. We are so thankful that this person was Dan. He was amazing and we will ALWAYS recommend him.
