Danada House

y to work with. Many beautiful spots for photos. Worth the money!!

getting ready to the evening of shutting down the venue. Jill and her team surpassed everything I could dream of for our wedding!

compliments from guests praising the venue, and working with Jill and her team was a true joy. They were friendly, helpful, and always easy to reach. Communication was top notch, the quality of the service we received was second to none, and we loved every vendor they recommended. They make it easy for you to customize your day, which was important to us. The bridal suite upstairs proved to be a wonderful little oasis that my husband and I could use throughout the night to have a moment to ourselves, and their beautiful grounds proved to be the perfect backdrop for our photos. Our wedding was late May, so all of their beautiful flora was in bloom, and the venue felt almost magical, with how pretty everything looked. I cannot recommend Danada House enough!

f the house has a historic mansion feeling, which we loved, but my favorite part of the house was the outdoor patio between the atrium and the house, it's a great spot for a cocktail hour. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars on my review is because of the service. When we initially viewed the venue and met the ladies who represent it, they were very nice and accommodating, they said they've helped with tons of weddings and done things like help brides get ready, make sure the flow of the ceremony goes well, make announcements, etc. However, after booking I felt like I was chasing people for responses, on our rehearsal day no one from the Danada House was present to ask questions to, even when we tried to find them inside, and on the day of our wedding they only came around to make sure that we were clearing the spaces in time for them to setup for the next wedding. While they are not expected to be wedding coordinators, I felt like they could have either been more present or not given a false sense of comfort.

price is very reasonable.

rations based on Danada's unique visuals. She was also amazing at recommending other vendors. All of our guests all fell in love with this place and kept hearing how much they loved the venue! All of our photos also came out beautiful as well! We were all very happy and pleased with this venue!

of we had a hostess who was very helpful with showing us where we could put our personal items and making sure we were happy with everything. Danada House provides a beautiful backdrop for bridal photos as well as for guest photos. We kept getting compliments from our guests on how pretty it looked! You do have to bring in your own caterer but they provide you a list of ones they have worked with previously. I would highly recommend Danada House for a wedding venue!

.

are incredibly thoughtful and gracious, the team dependable, and their credibility and strong relationships in the industry made coordination with our other vendors easy and meaningful.

personally liked that the bathrooms were in a separate coridoor instead of being in the main atrium area. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind to work with. The grounds were simply stunning for our late October wedding, which really made it worth it. Highly recommend this venue.

verly formal or stuffy, a good mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, and some smaller rooms off the main reception area for folks who wanted a quieter atmosphere. We didn't need to do much in the way of decorations because the venue is so naturally stunning. The staff were on top of every detail and made sure the day went smoothly, even when there was a brief downpour about 10 minutes before our ceremony was set to begin. My only advice is to book early if you want a Saturday night-- we booked 2 years in advance and had a limited selection of Saturday evenings to choose from!

VID and JIll was very helpful and accommodating us with the move and everything along the way. We had so many compliments about the venue and how beautiful it was. We loved that there was outdoor space available for cocktail hour and also during the reception. If you are able to rent the house for the whole day was really nice to be able to get ready and have extra time for setting up. We brought several additional things for our wedding: chairs, band, liquor, and had late-night food delivered and we learned in the process that due to only one loading area and the caterer usually taking up that space that you might have to have a good plan for drop off and pick up.

ots to have all our pictures outside! Jill was so wonderful to work with throughout the planning process and made everything easy! I would recommend this venue to all my friends! You will NOT regret choosing Danada! (Advice: it books fast, so snag it when you can!)

were able to select our own caterer (with their suggestions) which was very important to us to have that level of choice. Just know that you are only renting the space, there are no other services included for wedding planning besides suggestions for vendors. You do get an Event Host on the day-of who directs vendors and helps with things like lights and timing for the ceremony procession. The getting-ready area upstairs was very large for the girls (less so for the guys) and just as beautiful as the rest of the venue with antique furniture, etc. If you want a vintage-y (or even rustic with the horse barns!) wedding vibe, this is your place. You can choose pretty much anywhere to have your ceremony, and the grounds are huge. They also host ceremonies in the beautiful atrium (reception location) in case of inclement weather, which was a huge factor in choosing this venue since they had a back-up. Thankfully our rose garden ceremony was on a beautiful day! Would recommend Danada to anyone!

otography made the most of the location: our guests could move inside and out of the house from one comfortable spot to the next while our photographer captured the beautiful setting. Danada House was our dream wedding venue and it was everything we hoped it would be.

million questions I had with the patience of a saint. She let us look around and the House showed its own beauty to us. We planned on holding the cocktail hour in the house and the reception in the atrium while taking pictures on the gorgeous grounds. If you are looking for a reasonably priced venue with all-in-one capabilities that still lets you pick your own caterer, Danada House is for you!! I hope another bride gets to host her dream wedding here because the pictures will be beautiful! My only setback with this venue is the limited time you have to set up. For instance, to not have to spend another several thousand dollars for a whole day rental, we chose the option to rent from 4pm-12am. Therefore, our family/friends were going to have to set up the reception space from 4pm-6pm while we took pictures. So Cocktail hour would be 6-7 and your reception won’s start until 7pm. If you hire a wedding coordinator or service to help, then it wouldn’t be as much of a problem.

all their help on our big day!!

ver Labor Day weekend. The outdoor spaces were perfect for cocktail hour, and the inside of the house was ideal for our older guests as well. The indoor/outdoor combo made for the perfect start to the evening. The venue was able to accommodate 200 guests, plus a band and didn't feel cramped. Even though it's been 6 months since our wedding, we still get compliments from the guests who were there. The staff at Danada were very helpful and accommodating even though it's such a popular venue. We are not particularly into horses, but the grounds are on the forest preserve and there is a barn and horses near by. Every location for pictures was scenic, and provided great results for our photographs and video! Would highly recommend this venue for couples who are looking for a scenic and elegant event!

glass doors and the element of nature. The grounds are beautiful and have so many places to take amazing pictures. I liked the bridal and groom suite upstairs which is also beautiful. I liked the option of having our ceremony was outside and our reception in the atrium. Before seeing Danada House and looking at other venues many had smaller rooms for smaller weddings that did not look as nice as the larger, more grand rooms. I like that even though we had a smaller guest count we did not have to share Danada House with another wedding or event. Overall it was a great experience and beautiful venue that I highly recommend.

he only wedding on the property and our wedding photos turned out beautifully thanks to the gardens/property! The atrium is the perfect place for a reception. The views through the large windows are beautiful. The dance floor is inviting, since it is in the middle of the room. Guests had a great time! Communication leading up to the wedding was easy as well! Danada makes it easy to select vendors and plan the big day.

and Kathy were so helpful and accommodating throughout the entire wedding planning process. They were very responsive whenever I had questions (and I had a lot), they helped me with my timeline and let me come to the venue on the weekends to plan where certain decorations would go. They always have a point person working which was helpful during the rehearsal and the day of. Between Danada house, my caterer and the band, there was definitely no need for a wedding planner. My husband and I are so happy we got married here!

pe to take photos, a glass window atrium for your reception, and a vintage estate that is charming. On top of that, the staff has been responsive and flexible since day 1. We are ecstatic with how our day turned out and incredibly grateful we chose to have our wedding at Danada House. HIGH value for a low price.

el to and from the Danada House. We highly recommend!

loved using the different rooms in the house for cocktail hour. The atrium looked amazing lit up at night! Jill was very professional & answered all our questions during the wedding planning process. I highly recommend Danada House!

. We had our wedding on a Friday because Danada books out very far in advance (we put down our deposit 14-15 months ahead of the event). However, our Friday wedding was just as perfect as a Saturday wedding! We extended our rental to have the space from 12pm to 1 am (dancing stopped at midnight). It was worth the extra money to have more time for set-up and photos prior to the 6pm ceremony. I will say, this venue is on the pricier side, but it was worth every penny. You will need to get your own caterer, and pay per chair for the ceremony. The exterior was well manicured with so many beautiful flowers! Our ceremony took place outside at the archway, my in-laws created hanging flowers for the archway that gave it the extra "umph" I was looking for. The sun was still shining very bright at 6pm, and the temperature was perfect (72 degrees). I was worried about mosquitoes, but never had an issue with any during any part of the event. The house and atrium provided perfect atmosphere for the evening. The hanging lights were gorgeous as my guests and I danced the night away! Guests also enjoyed the patio area as a retreat from dancing. We really enjoyed having the private rooms upstairs for the bridal party, especially prior to the ceremony. We have received so many compliments from our guests about the venue. We truly enjoyed the entire day, including our time at Danada House. Thank you Jill, Laurie, and Kathy at Danada for all your work over the past year!

dances. The outdoor patio was a fun place to keep the party going with a breath of fresh air. Only thing that I didn't like as much was the decor inside of the house, but I don't think the guests noticed the wallpaper as much as the decorations I put up. Jill and the other ladies in the office are very nice and helpful, and willing to work with you! Overall, it was the perfect setting for my wedding, and I highly suggest it if you aren't looking for a classic banquet hall wedding.

ould not have asked for a more perfect wedding thanks to Danada House and all of the people there!

e more was included in the rental price (such as the tables and chairs for the reception). We had both our wedding ceremony and reception on-site at the Danada House. We were able to book the venue well in advance of our wedding, and were able to easily re-negotiate how long we would be renting the space on the day (our original reservation had our rental time starting at 4PM, but we eventually changed the start time to 11AM). Jill and the other staff at the Danada House were very helpful and always answered our questions in a timely and professional manner. The success and enjoyment of our wedding were due in part to us choosing the Danada House. It's a beautiful venue for a wedding. We would definitely recommend the Danada House for weddings (both ceremony and reception).

ave your wedding outside or inside it will look magical. The reception hall is the same area that your ceremony could be in. It is surrounded in windows that look out onto a wooded area with drop lights. It gives the whole place such a romantic and warm feeling. There are so many nooks and cranny's to take gorgeous pictures at. Danada House is so beautiful and if you're lucky, you can get some pictures with the horses.

day evening wedding. We were shocked to find out that Danada books all Saturdays and most Fridays insanely fast two years out. We were put on a wait list of what appeared to be about 20 with a general request for any summer Saturday in 2018. Thankfully, after about 3 weeks had past we were given a call that the hold was let go for the July 28th date and we immediately put our deposit down. Moral of the story is, if you are more than 2 years our inquiry immediately about the hold process as I do not believe they require a deposit at that time and if you are thinking about getting engaged and know Danada is your dream venue maybe hold the venue 2 years out? I don’t know it’s a crazy process, who knows that far in advance that they want to get married! Thankfully it worked for us and I’m glad it’s not all about who can pay the most money either because that isn’t always fair or right either. Kathy gave us the tour of Danada and worked with us several times leading up to our wedding and the night of our actual wedding. We also spoke to Jill several times as well. Both ladies were super sweet and helpful throughout the whole process. Kathy was always optimistic about us getting our wedding at Danada and we appreciated her guidance throughout the process. She helped with set up at the event and made sure we left with all our belongings at the end of the event. The property itself is absolutely beautiful! It’s perfect for an all in one venue. There are three great spots for ceremony sites: in the garden area which includes an arch, out by the fences which can be done under two trees, or by the horseshoe area surrounded by white pillars. Then guests can walk around the house or outside or on the patio for cocktail hour and the reception takes place in the atrium with the hanging lights and windowed walls letting in the natural light. There is an upstairs area which has a beautiful bridal suite to get ready in and a small area for the guys to hangout in. They also have a large table in one of the rooms. The evening rental time is from 4-12 with the wedding ending at 11. However, you can pay to extended that an hour for your wedding to end at midnight (note you will have to pay your vendors more as well usually). Something to think about as well is that you have to make sure to remove all your stuff that evening, although people helped me with this it’s just not something I want to think about on my wedding night. I wish there was a way to make this not your burden but to check with you on who is in charge of this or take the fear away that your stuff won’t be trashed or you won’t be fined etc. I guess this is a role of a wedding planner but after paying a venue and a catering fee that was just a lot of money to add a third coordinator but little value added. Takeaway feedback: if you are not a big photo person or the average photo person than the 4-12 time slot will be fine for you, if you want a million photos, really talk about this with your photographer and come up with a game plan. Think about if additional hour at the end of the night is worth the extra costs at Danada, catering, dj, etc! Overall, I loved the venue and I’m glad I had my wedding here! Kathy and Jill were great!

nch wedding at Danada, and I cannot be happier with the venue choice. The team there was so easy to work with, and the space is exceptional - from the beautiful bridal and grooms suites, to the wonderful garden ceremony space, to the gorgeous atrium. Everything is flawless! Thank you so much for such a dreamy venue, and we would highly recommend to anyone!

be fell in love, too! Because it is so coveted, we ended up booking a Thursday wedding and it certainly did not disappoint. Jill and Kathy were amazing throughout the process and always answered emails and phone calls in a very timely manner. The grounds men were very polite that day as well. The grounds, ceremony site, house, bridal party suites, and the atrium we clean and in spectacular shape. We have gotten a multitude of compliments from our guests stating how beautiful Danada House is and how much fun they had! Having our wedding at Danada House was the best decision and we couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.

he home were beautiful, full of flowers and trees. The house itself is gorgeous and so charming. We have so many beautiful pictures on the front patio and around the home!! The house is also set up perfectly for a wedding - we used the smaller rooms of the house for our cocktail hour, and the large atrium for dinner and dancing. I've always wanted an outdoor wedding, but was too afraid to plan a totally outdoor wedding with weather concerns, but Danada was the perfect balance! Our guests could mingle both inside and outside, and the glass atrium almost made it feel like we were outside! The lights hanging from the ceiling also made dancing feel like we were dancing under the stars. Our guests raved about Danada, and couldn't believe they didn't know about it for their own weddings! A few pieces of advice - this place books up fast! We reserved the home almost 2 years before our wedding (we didn't need a deposit until 18mo prior). Also - there isn't a lot of guidance on how to plan your wedding at Danada House unless you reach out to the Danada House staff first. Any time we did reach out, however, staff were super helpful! If you're looking for a preferred caterer - we can't say enough wonderful things about Maries!!

ce were unsurpassed and sold us on Danada House for our daughter and her husband’s wedding location. The bridal party enjoyed preparing for the wedding inside the lovely home. Outdoors we were surrounded with spectacular photo options. The beauty of the building and the grounds added much to the splendor of the evening. The wedding and reception took our breath away. The flexibility of Danada House also made it possible to have the feeling of an outdoor wedding inside a well air conditioned atrium on a 96 degree day. Kathy and Lori were of great assistance in making the rehearsal and the wedding day run smoothly.

were able to arrive at 2 p.m. instead of 4 p.m.). The bridal suite is beautiful and spacious, the grounds are breathtaking, and the atrium is unlike anything I've seen before. We knew from the beginning that we did not want our wedding in a banquet hall or hotel; we wanted an outdoorsy venue with a reception area that had windows. If you feel the same way, then Danada House is the place to have your wedding!

. Jill is such a gem to work with. She was so nice and responsive during the planning process. I always felt like a VIP when talking with her. Thank you for everything!

perfect atmosphere for the evening. We enjoyed having the private rooms upstairs for the bridal party. We have received so many compliments from our guests about the venue. We truly enjoyed the entire day, including our time at Danada House!

ey were there guiding us and supervising everything. It is an absolutely beautiful venue. The atrium's hanging lights add the perfect ambiance to a formal night, and there was plenty of room for all our guests (165) to party! The courtyard was a great place to cool off. Danada is so unique because of all the little rooms! Having the upstairs to get ready in also made our day a lot easier, since everything was all in one place. We love Danada House!

Danada (Kathy I believe) was awesome and have everything we needed in the atrium ready to roll at our ceremony time. The price (at least to me) was great and even better when you receive the initial deposit back. If I have any 'compliant' it would be perhaps easier if the coordinators had their own email addresses- but otherwise loved it all :)

ts had (and continue to have) nothing but compliments to share with us about both the staff and the ambiance. We loved having cocktail hour in the home and then getting to walk through the glass corridor that enters the atrium for the reception. It honestly felt like we were living in a fairy tale. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day or a more beautiful venue.

ing specifically for a spot that would be classy, elegant, yet relaxed and comfortable as we wanted to convey a celebration of our marriage instead of a party. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the house/atrium are breathtaking with the lights, wooden beams, and windows. Our guests were able to mingle with one another both inside and out and were just as impressed as we were. Our friends and family and those in attendance were the only ones on the property for the morning and afternoon which made the occasion personal and intimate. We didn't have to worry about another wedding the next room over as the grounds are only able to have one event at a time. Thank you to the Danada House, the volunteers, and all of the women that helped us make the happiest day of our life truly wonderful. We look forward to coming back and visiting!
