BILINGUAL WEDDING OFFICIANT & MARRIAGE LICENSE SPECIALIST

Congratulations! Your dream wedding just got easier! We officiate your ceremony AND issue your California marriage license—all in one place!
People often ask me how long a wedding ceremony takes. The answer is usually about twenty minutes. But what guests don't realize is that those twenty minutes can be built upon years of memories, challenges, laughter, tears, adventures, and devotion.
As a wedding officiant, I have the privilege of stepping into a couple's story for a brief moment. I listen. I learn who they are, how they found one another, what has carried them through life together, and what they dream about for the years ahead. Then I am entrusted with one of the greatest honors imaginable: telling their love story before the people they love most.
At Curlypri Services, your ceremony isn't simply something I perform. It is something I thoughtfully create around you. Whether romantic, lighthearted, spiritual, bilingual, traditional, or beautifully simple, my goal is for your guests to listen and think, “That is so them.”
And while the ceremony should feel personal, getting legally married shouldn't feel complicated.
As an Authorized Marriage License Issuer, I can issue your confidential California marriage license and perform your ceremony—often on the same day—with no trip to the County Clerk required. I take care of the completed license filing with the County and can have your Certified Marriage Certificate mailed directly to your home.
Wedding experiences include:

Based in Spring Valley and serving couples throughout San Diego County, I believe the legal details should feel effortless so you can focus on what actually matters—the person standing beside you.
Your wedding may last only a few minutes. Your story is what makes those minutes unforgettable.
Warm regards,
Priscilla

Leading up to our wedding, there were a couple planning phone calls. During the last phone call, we reminded her of the location and start time of our ceremony. Our ceremony was to...
begin at 5 pm SHARP (as in, Bride walking down the aisle at 5 pm). We all agreed that a 4:30 arrival time would be adequate. We had a very strict timeline as we only had the venue for a specific set of hours.
At 4:20 pm (happy to provide screenshots of the call log), the Bride received a phone call from Priscilla. She said she was stuck in traffic and her current arrival time was going to be 5:03. She then went on to suggest a later ceremony start time in order to accommodate her tardiness.
As one could imagine, this was a complete shock. Calling 10 minutes prior to the agreed upon arrival time to let the Bride know she would be late to the ceremony is appalling. After some back and forth, we frantically had to find a family member willing to step in as our officiant just 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time.
Priscilla was irritated with our informing her that her services were being terminated because she was “already on the way”. She said her assistant would park the car and she would quickly make her way to the ceremony site with a likely start time of 5:10 to 5:15. Her “professional assessment” was that this delay would cause no significant impact to the experience. However, that was not her call to make.
Let us note: every other vendor we worked with arrived within adequate and reasonable time to park, make their way to the ceremony and reception site (this wedding was held at a winery and walking from the parking lot to the ceremony site alone can take up to 10 minutes).
With every other vendor having had no problem arriving on time (a few of which commuting more than 2 hours to reach us), this was clearly a lack of planning and time management on Priscilla’s end. One of our vendors told us they checked the map estimation for traffic each hour beginning at 9 am the day of the wedding. Again, the professional thing to do.
One area I will agree that service was provided is that Priscilla did write up the ceremony script. It was well written. That said, she had the final copy in her possession. We did not have the script printed ourselves (why would we?) and, therefore, still could not use it on the day because she was tardy. However, we still recognize the time and effort put in to draft the script.
All of this to say, we politely and discreetly asked Priscilla to provide us a refund given her mistake of time management which lead to not providing the officiating service. Our total charge was $540 which included a travel fee, standard ceremony officiating and script writing. We are from out of state and did not need her to provide the legal paperwork, that would have been an extra charge.
Our final offer to Priscilla to handle this in a way that was not a public review was a refunded amount of $400. This would compensate her for her script writing and the fact that she did start to drive to the venue. However, she disagreed and stated the only amount of refund that seemed “reasonable” was $180. She sent that amount back to us.
So, if you are willing to risk a late officiant - then maybe this is the service provider for you. If not, look elsewhere.
We also anticipate a likely response from Priscilla to this review. Please note: we are more than happy to provide all screenshots and timestamps as needed for further information.
Response from Curlypri Wedding Studio
Dear Reader:
I take tremendous pride in being responsible, communicative, compassionate, ...
and flexible with every couple I serve. My clients' experiences and their testimonials reflect the care I bring to each ceremony. Many have generously shared their experiences on video immediately following their weddings, and I welcome prospective couples to view those testimonials and reviews.
This experience has certainly been a learning opportunity for me. It is the first time I have encountered a cancellation ever and the circumstances and the interaction that has preceded since. The very negative emails I have received from Austin are disappointing, but I am not the one who cancelled nor fulfill my obligation. I sincerely regret that I was unable to deliver the ceremony I had prepared with such care.
I remain committed to providing meaningful, personalized wedding ceremonies and treating every couple's special day with the respect it deserves.
I wish Austin and Amanda a happy marriage.
I acknowledge Austin is correct in anticipating a response to this review. Following the wedding, Austin requested a full refund. During those discussions, he communicated that a negative public review “would likely have a significant negative impact on your business.” If I did not provide the full refund requested or $400 dollars. I have retained all their correspondence and supporting documentation. I found the prospect of negative publicity being raised in connection with a refund demand particularly disappointing. Nevertheless, I issued a $180 refund a third of the total invoice as a gesture of goodwill, despite the substantial preparation and services already completed.
I also would like to clarify, we did not have multiple wedding-planning phone calls. There was no comprehensive discussion of the wedding-day agenda, venue logistics, or strict scheduling requirements. No detailed wedding-day timeline was provided to me, nor was a specific 4:30 p.m. arrival time agreed upon even though my intention is to always arrive early which is what I normally do. The only phone conference which I organized was to discuss finalization of the wedding script.
Unexpected circumstances can arise despite careful preparation. My professional responsibility was to communicate the situation promptly, make reasonable efforts to arrive, and remain prepared to perform the contracted services. Our signed agreement specifically anticipates unforeseen traffic conditions beyond reasonable control under Section 4.3 of that agreement. It also stipulates the 50% Retainer is non-refundable.
While in traffic for two hours, I had proactively communicated 45 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony the circumstances with Amanda the bride and remained committed to fulfilling my responsibilities. A family member then contacted me around 4:30 who then cancelled my services. I remained enroute, considering the family member is not the one who contracted me. I followed up with the bride at 4:46 stating I’m still on track to arrive be at 5:03 which she stated, “No thank you…we will figure it out” at that point I turned around.
Their personalized wedding ceremony script had already been completed, approved, and delivered electronically via email, making it readily accessible to them regardless of my physical presence. I was ready and willing to officiate when they decided to take matters into their own hands and make alternative arrangements. While I was genuinely surprised by their decision, I was certainly not angry, and I respect their right to make that choice. However, their decision to cancel does not negate the professional services already performed, nor does it change the fact that I was prevented from completing the remaining portion of my commitment. Once they elected to proceed without my services, the responsibility for making alternative arrangements and determining how their ceremony would proceed rested with them.
I restate, I take tremendous pride in being responsible, communicative, compassionate, and flexible with every couple I serve. My clients' experiences and their testimonials reflect the care I bring to each ceremony. Many have generously shared their experiences on video immediately following their weddings, and I welcome prospective couples to view those testimonials and reviews.
This experience has certainly been a learning opportunity for me. It is the first time I have encountered a cancellation ever! I sincerely regret that I was unable to deliver the ceremony I had prepared with such care.

We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant! From the very beginning, Priscilla was incredibly organized, responsive, and punctual. She guided us through every step with clarity ...
and made the entire process stress-free. Her attention to detail and timeliness truly stood out—everything happened exactly when and how she said it would.
The quality of her work was exceptional. The ceremony felt personal, meaningful, and beautifully delivered. She took the time to understand our story and crafted a script that fit us perfectly. Her professionalism and warm, uplifting attitude made us feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire experience.
In terms of value, Priscilla exceeded our expectations. Her services were affordable, transparent, and absolutely worth every penny. She respected our budget and still provided top-tier service that felt premium. We never once felt pressured or upsold—just genuinely cared for.
If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, and truly dedicated to making your day special, look no further. We highly recommend her officiant and marriage license services!
