We got married at Cooper’s Landing on April 12, 2024, and choosing this venue was one of the best decisions we made (second only to marrying each other). I was recently showing the... place to a newly engaged coworker when I realized we had never written our review! Thankfully, our experience was so wonderful from start to finish that it’s still vivid in our minds.
If you’re laid back, love great food, want an enchanted‑garden atmosphere, and value a team who truly cares, get married here!
Planning was unbelievably easy. We found the website, had dinner at the restaurant, and immediately knew it was the right fit. Nichol offers a tour and consultation, but honestly, the charming inn, the blooming garden, the incredible food, and five minutes with the lovely Terril were enough to seal the deal for us. From our first meeting, Nichol listened to our hopes and priorities and handled almost everything. All we had to do on our own was choose invitations, outfits, a photographer, and a band. Only the fun stuff!
We envisioned a short, sweet ceremony in the golden evening light, followed by a joyful, fairy‑lit party with great music and dancing. Think Bilbo’s 111th birthday, but make it “fancy hobbits.” What we got was even better: a celebration shaped by us, our guests, and the staff, full of warmth, personality, and genuine joy.
The logistics were perfect. Many of our guests stayed in the inn’s cottages and rooms, and several hotels are within a five‑block walk. The inn’s little “village” of spaces made it easy for everyone to gather, visit, and enjoy the whole weekend. Our rehearsal dinner was delicious and intimate.
The night before the wedding, a huge thunderstorm rolled through. The next morning was fresh, cool, and beautifully green. While my bridal party and I were getting ready, the power went out due to storm repairs. Nichol calmly explained the situation, stayed in contact with the electric company, and then, like angels, she and Les brought the RV generator from their own home so hair and makeup could continue. The power returned shortly after, but her grace under pressure meant none of us ever felt stressed.
The ceremony under the gazebo was everything we hoped for. Our reception on the poolside patio was magical: plenty of room for the band, candlelit tables, fairy lights, and a cozy fire pit for guests who preferred chatting to dancing. We also set up cornhole and bubbles during cocktail hour, which added a sweet, playful touch.
And the food! I still think about the stuffed mushrooms, baked brie, and especially the crab dip. Even if you decide this place isn't your wedding venue, you should still go for dinner. Words cannot describe how scrumptious everything is! My mother also has Celiac disease, and Nichol worked with us very knowledgeably and creatively to make sure my mom could eat at the reception.
Nichol kept the evening flowing smoothly without ever making us feel rushed. We got to simply enjoy our night, and enjoy it we did. By the end, our wedding party jumped into the (very cold) pool fully clothed, then warmed up in the hot tub, laughing the whole time.
To this day, friends and family still tell us it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended. We returned last year for our first anniversary, which they also made marvelously romantic and special -- it felt like being welcomed home. We are endlessly grateful to Cooper’s Landing, and to Nichol, Terril, and Les, for giving us so many magical memories!
