I had my wedding at The Columbia two years ago and I still can’t believe how badly they handled it. From the moment I paid my final deposit—half of the total bill—their cooperation...
stopped. They gave me only two hours to set up before the ceremony, and when I said that wasn’t enough, I was told, “Most people have a wedding planner.” My friends who came early to help weren’t even allowed into the reserved space at the agreed-upon time, so nothing got set up properly. It caused unnecessary stress and tension between people who were just trying to help. Then, halfway through the reception—while I was the bride, enjoying my own wedding—a waiter came up to me demanding payment, even though we were told the balance would be due after the event. I was treated like I was going to skip out on the bill. It was humiliating. To top it off, after the wedding they charged my credit card again for the flamenco dancers—even though the contract clearly stated that the best man was paying for them and they already had his card on file. When I called, the woman I spoke to was rude and condescending, asking, “Well who did you think was going to pay for it?” Only after I pointed out the written agreement did anyone bother to apologize. The entire experience was a disaster. They treated me like a problem to get rid of instead of a paying customer on one of the most important days of my life. I wouldn’t recommend The Columbia for any event—especially not a wedding.
We hosted our rehearsal dinner in the Red room, with about 26 guest. The room was the perfect size and the catering staff made it hard to decide the menu choices. We settled on t...
he Seafood Paella and Roast Pork for our buffet. We had empanadas ahead of time, and our guest couldn't stop raving over how tasty everything was. It set the tone for a beautiful weekend to come.
This is hands down my family's all time favorite restaurant. So when it came time to plan my wedding, I knew it had to involve the Columbia. From the planning stages to the big day...
the Columbia's catering and events team made everything so easy. Our reception was perfect and everything we hoped it would be. Jill was in constant communication with us. Caroline let us tour the space and helped us decide what options would work best for us. The room we had was perfect and allowed us to have a nice intimate dinner with our family and friends and everyone enjoyed their meal. Plus, we had some allergies and special diets and the serving staff perfectly handled all of our requests. My family is still talking about how perfect the whole dinner was. And, the restaurant is so beautifully decorated and rich with history. This is a one of a kind place and made our wedding feel the same.
I recently had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City. It was an amazing night! The restaurant makes planning very easy with their event packages...
and helpful staff. Sabrina was our coordinator and she was so helpful and patient with all of our questions and Ernesto was in charge of our room on our wedding night and he did a perfect job making sure everything ran smoothly. There was also a gentleman who worked at the restaurant who came to the rescue at the last minute to help all the groomsmen figure out how to tie their bow ties! 😂The food was delicious and we are so happy we chose to get married here!
Our rehearsal dinner at the Columbia was FANTASTIC! Our guests are still calling us to tell us what a fabulous time they had.
The Red Room was beautifully appointed and perfectly ...
fit our guest count. The food, which is always delicious from Columbia, really blew us away. Everything was expertly prepared and plated. My husband and I really appreciated that the buffet was refilled a few times and that our guests could enjoy themselves to the fullest. The bar (3 hour package for our room) was also lovely and the sangria was a huge hit.
The service of the two gentlemen who manned our bar and buffet was exceptional. They were so attentive and charming and they made us feel very welcome. Loreta was also so wonderful and we truly appreciated her flexibility and professionalism.
All in all, we could not mention any complaints from either ourselves or our guests. This is a perfect place for a unique event or dinner!

the event runs smoothly and cover every detail. They provide all the food, drinks, linens, tables, chairs, glassware, servers, bartenders, and valet parking for one package price. Their staff will also help with suggestions for anything else you may need. It is central located in Ybor city with a great combination of elegant decor and authentic old tampa/ybor flavor. Definitely worth checking out for any budget!

dating for a long table for our 20 guests. We selected a small selection off the menu for our guests to order from and we were pleasantly surprised to see custom menus for our event were made for us. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food as usual was incredible. Highly recommend booking an event with The Columbia! Thank you for a magical night.

est. Anytime I emailed her she emailed me back quickly. If I needed to schedule a time to meet her she was flexible and always so nice. The day of the reception they were great. The service was quick and the staff was very kind. They went over and beyond my expectations. They even cut our cake for us and brought out containers for people to take some cake home if they would like (no extra charge). If I ever have another event I will definitely have it a the Columbia. Very glad I picked them for one of the most important days of my life.
The food was amazing, the service was amazing. We had our own room and it was perfect for 35 people and we had our own bar.

Our rehearsal dinner was great - a huge success thanks to the great staff and food at the Columbia. We were in the King's room which we were a little concerned about. There were ...
alot of stairs to get to the room but once in there it was private and had a ton of atmosphere. The food was incredible. Our guests really enjoyed the evening.
