Collins Entertainment

choice of entertainment. DJ Charlie was knowledgeable and offered great suggestions to us during our planning call. On our wedding day, DJ Lou was PHENOMENAL - he cued us all down the aisle, managed the sound during our backyard ceremony, and expertly flowed through our cocktail hour and dinner music (and was sure to play my father's special requests!) and transitioned us into a dance party with ease. We aren't the biggest dancers, and we were nervous the vibes would feel low/awkward, but our dance floor was POPPIN and our guests all had a BLAST dancing to millennial throwbacks, wedding classics, and current hits. Two weeks after our wedding, we're still getting texts saying what an amazing job our DJ did and asking for his contact information. Also - DJ Lou checked in with me and my husband throughout the evening, making sure we knew what was happening next, and that he knew what our preferences were as far as speech timing, guiding guests out of the tent for our private last dance, etc. We felt very supported and considered, which was much appreciated. Last thing - we LOVED that he handed a microphone to my 4 year-old nephew for an impromptu speech during dinner. It was hysterical, and a highlight of the evening for everyone. Thank you, thank you!

we expected from a proffesional DJ. With an extremely accomidating staff you are sure to have the experiance you desire by hiring them. 1000% recommend Collins Entertainment!! Thank you guys, so so much!!!!!

h on the big day. From the initial coordination with Mitch, to emailing back and forth with Mitch, the owner Jim, and Charlie to address our questions, to the respect for our song requests and capturing our overall theme, we were really pleased throughout. We appreciated the event planning platform, which forced us to think through all of the questions that a DJ, the Master of Ceremonies, really needs to know to make an event successful. The Collins team also sends periodic wedding countdown reminder e-mails that are extremely helpful and ensured that we were doing the right things at the right time. We only had two minor complaints. First, we were unhappy that one profane rap song made it into the dancing portion of the night - which in fairness may have been requested by one of our family members - but it really threw off the vibe for us for a couple of minutes (especially because we had a lot of family and older guests in attendance). Not sure if others noticed it as much, as the dancing continued regardless. Second, the website platform is a little unintuitive, and could probably use an update in the next few years: the site is also not integrated with any music platform (like Spotify or YouTube), which made it a little cumbersome to toggle between browser windows. Our ceremony was extremely important to us, and we were nervous about it because it was outdoors and we weren’t entirely sure how the acoustics and electrical setup would work at the venue. Charlie made sure that the prelude and processional music and ceremony audio were perfectly timed, at the right volume, and that the microphone and other equipment were functional without interruption. While it’s probably an industry standard, we still truly appreciated that Charlie matched our dress code for the wedding, and looked super sharp in his suit despite the August weather and the air conditioning failing in the reception area just before the wedding! Charlie captured our requested music themes for the cocktail hour and throughout the reception, made the right introductions and announcements throughout. He did a fantastic job of reading the room and keeping things moving, and provided the exact level of interaction and number of announcements that we were hoping for. It all felt very natural. People danced throughout, despite it being hot in the building, and Charlie kept everybody moving and built off our requested playlist very well. We were also so glad we chose the uplighting option - it made the reception area look so much better as the evening progressed, and we couldn’t imagine the space without that detail. We were really going for a classy, timeless wedding day, and Charlie and the Collins Entertainment team did a phenomenal job of making that a reality. They paid attention to the details, were extremely professional yet relatable, and demonstrated skill in their craft. We’ve been to so many weddings and the choice of a DJ can really make or break the day. If we had to do it all over again, we would choose Collins Entertainment for our wedding every time, and we strongly recommend their services to anyone planning a wedding or event!

ning service for the entire day, providing a detailed timeline of our reception and working with us to fit in everything we wanted! DJ Charlie took the time before the day to understand the music 'vibe' we were going for, and made it happen on the day of. It was nice to get 'reminders' leading up to the day on things to do, unrelated to entertainment - a nice touch. It was also nice to be able to book our DJ and photobooth through the same company. The entire Collins team was great to work with - thanks again for a superb day!

nd confident in our decision to choose them. We had DJ Charlie for our wedding and absolutely loved working with him! He paid attention to every detail, listened to our requests and kept the dance floor packed the entire night!! We even had the fire alarm go off at our venue which led to a 30- minute extension of the reception and he stayed without any hesitation which we appreciate so much! We definitely recommend using Collins for your next event!

DJ for I will definitely be requesting Charlie. Thank you!!!

added the live sax player, which was a huge hit with everyone. 10/10 would recommend!

from start to finish. You can have as much or as little involvement as you would like. Highly recommend them for any event. Holly & Dennis

the wedding from start to finish and understand the vibe we were going for. He showed up early, setup the sound system for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. He did an awesome job on MC. The dance floor didn't clear out all night. We received countless compliments the following day that we had the best DJ!!

to work with and their online site for picking songs and planning the event were an absolute godsend they kept the party going all night with a fantastic mix of music and the uplighting that they provided really helped with the ambiance of the venue itself. Highly recommend.

incredible! Asked him to play the best part of songs and keep mixing all night, which is exactly what he did. All of our guests keep talking about how much fun the DJ was! Thank you!

ommented on how good the music was. Our requests and special songs were played and our specific requests were listened too. Maurice made sure to check in on our throughout the night as well, not just about the music but how we were doing in general which I thought was a nice touch! I was excited about booking Collins after seeing all the great reviews and my expectations were met!

our, he played the perfect mix of classic and contemporary music and was a great emcee for speeches throughout dinner. Once the dance floor opened, he incorporated our must-play songs with some of his own selections, as well as requests from our guests. It all added up to a great night with great energy.

ception and DJ Charlie nailed it! He seamlessly blended several styles of music and we danced all night long.

ke our night go smoothly, the music was so grest we didnt leave the dance floor all night! All of our guests said the music was awesome and all our feet hurt from dancing!

ickly to any questions, as well as providing monthly wedding checklists etc. DJ Jared was our DJ for the event and he did great job! He incorporated a mix of music we wanted and read the room well to keep the dance floor full! He was great with the transitions between songs and also did great at MC'ing. Would definitely recommend!

unning smoothly the day of. We had DJ Maurice for our wedding day. He was outstanding! Everyone felt like he was a part of our family and felt like we have known him for years. He was entertaining and kept everyone dancing! DJ Maurice listened to our music requests and did a fantastic job mixing all the different genres we like. You can tell he loves his job and is very easy to work with. Not only our families were happy with him but the hotel staff kept saying how amazing he is. We will highly recommend them to everyone we know!

having DJ Jared at our wedding, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the very beginning, Jared's professionalism and dedication to making our day special stood out. He took the time to understand our musical preferences and the atmosphere we wanted to create, and he executed it flawlessly. Jared's DJ skills are truly top-notch. He kept the dance floor packed all night with a perfect mix of songs that appealed to all our guests. His ability to read the crowd and adapt the music accordingly was impressive, and it created an unforgettable party atmosphere. Not only is Jared a fantastic DJ, but he's also a genuinely kind and friendly person to work with. He was accommodating, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The sound quality and setup were excellent. Thank you so much!!!

he wedding day, had great music selections and really kept the party alive.

ingly; he improvised when he had to cover up any mishaps due to things out of our control, and nobody even noticed. From the moment I contacted the company and spoke with owner Jim, I knew that they were going to blow me away with their services!! I can't wait to book them/Maurice again for renewal of our vows at some point, or for my daughters HS graduation!! if you're getting married, GO WITH COLLINS ENTERTAINMENT!!

ing able to use their online portal to plan out our day. DJ Houston kept everyone on the dancefloor all night with perfect music selections and went above and beyond to capture audio of speeches from the microphones so we could relive those moments.

communicated well with us throughout the night and quick to adapt to changes in the schedule. Great at reading the room to keep the guests dancing. Would recommend!

tainment for our DJ, ambient lighting and a saxophone player for cocktail hour and all three of those services were perfect. DJ Jared was SO fun and organized - our guests are still talking about how he was the best DJ they’d heard at a wedding. Truly the best!!!

I got married a few months ago we also chose Collins Entertainment and again had a great experience. Jim and his team are very organized and professional. Our DJ Jared was excellent. Would highly reccomend.

worry about a thing because Jim was on top of everything. We had 2 families from 2 different cultures but he made everyone feel welcomed and comfortable with great mix of both cultures! Ceremony music and reception music, they were both fantastic and we couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our big day! Thank you Jim, thank you Collins Entertainment! -Tiffany and Travis

ecommend him enough for your wedding!!

floor was popping! So many compliments on our DJ. The photo booth was a huge hit and the attendant was so friendly! We will definitely book with you again if we ever have a private event or some thing! Thank you so so much again.

had countless amount of compliments from that night that truly made our day. We thank Collins Entertainment for everything! Elio had everything so organized and we truly appreciate it ☺️

day, and select certain “must play” songs, as well as “do not play” songs. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we met with the owner, Jim Collins, several times on Zoom calls, and he was extremely helpful to us! Jim gave us several ideas that we incorporated into our day, and helped us to come up with an itinerary. This relieved a lot of stress in the weeks leading up, and allowed us to focus our time and energy elsewhere! Jim has over a decade of experience, and is truly a seasoned professional! DJ Maurice was ultimately selected to be the DJ / MC for our special day. He did not disappoint! Our venue presented some unique challenges for our vendors due to the location of the ceremony, but DJ Maurice didn’t skip a beat (pun somewhat intended.) DJ Maurice arrived well ahead of schedule to make sure everything was where it needed to be, which again, relieved a lot of stress. At the reception, DJ Maurice engaged our guests effectively, played an awesome variety of music and provided the exact atmosphere that we were looking for. Several of our guests, including some that usually aren’t known to dance at weddings, commented on how DJ Maurice was absolutely killing it! By the end of the event, it felt like DJ Maurice and I had been long time friends. DJ Maurice was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I would 100% recommend him for your wedding, party, or event. All in all, we highly recommend Collins Entertainment to you for your wedding needs! Thank you for everything!

, the owner, and he got a hold of Jared to perform on 3 days notice for our wedding. Every single guest raved about Jared’s performance. Jim and Jared were so professional and helpful and made our day the best day possible. We can’t thank them enough and we highly highly recommend them. Jared kept our party going and knew and understood exactly what we were looking for from a DJ. They truly saved us.

delivered. We have gotten nothing but compilation from our guests about how much fun they had. Not only that, he was a great communicator and helped every step of the way with the planning process. He is incredibly professional and I would highly recommend him to anyone planning a wedding.

to know us, the details of the day, and what we wanted from a dance floor. Their online planning tool was so helpful to keep everything organized, and they periodically send emails with planning to-do's to keep you on track as well which was very helpful, and I felt above and beyond! Our dance floor never had a dull moment, and it's one of the top comments we've been getting after the big day. Specifically, that the playlist was "so you!" which we absolutely loved. We were drawn to a DJ over a band because you can play such a wide variety of music, and DJ Elio did just that for us - blending songs from my husband and my childhoods, college experience, wedding classics, and current top hits. DJ Elio also kept us on track all evening (despite speeches going long as they always do!), and flawlessly transitioned from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception (entrances, speeches, dance floor). He nailed it, and we are so grateful. We could not recommend more!!

at music that got everyone going on the dance floor!

ng to the music! I would not use anyone else for events in the future!

time into meeting with us, and we felt that he truly cared about our day. Jared was our DJ for our wedding night, and he truly made the night amazing! Our friends said they needed a few days of rest after all the dancing! Our dance floor was busy the entire night. Our family enjoyed the array of music he played, and he really made sure everyone danced to music they enjoy. I have already recommended Collins Entertainment verbally to friends who are getting engaged! Thank you so much for making our day so special!

ors, at my parents residence. We had our ceremony across the street in an open field with no power. The sound was perfect. Music was loud and the ceremony was mic-ed appropriately. Our original plan was to have cocktail hour, un-tented, in the front yard, and a tented reception in the back yard. On our day, it began to drizzle during cocktail hour. DJ Elio didn’t skip a beat. Half of our guests remained in the front yard and the second half stood under our “welcome” tent in the backyard. He essentially DJ’d two separate cocktail hours. That level of accommodation and professionalism goes unmatched. We met with DJ Elio months prior and then one week before our wedding day. Both meetings were productive. He has a way of making you feel comfortable and confident in his skills. Our taste in music is unique and due to that we put all of our trust in him to keep the dance floor full. He exceeded expectations. We gave him “must plays” that he creatively incorporated throughout the night. The dance floor was full the entire night. His set up was aesthetically pleasing and his lighting was awesome. The exceptional factor about DJ Elio is that he doesn’t make a playlist. He took our taste in music and mixed that with his amazing ability to read the room. What solidified how great DJ Elio is for me, was a conversation I had during the reception with a long term friend of mine. She said “this playlist has your name written all over it!” The truth is… we gave DJ Elio very little direction. But through our meetings, he took the time to really get to know us and our music taste and found a way to make our personalities shine through while pleasing our guests at the same time. And that is PRICELESS!

to the wedding, which was helpful in making sure we were not forgetting anything. He also had a robust planning process with our other vendors in order to ensure everyone was on the same page the day of the wedding. Our photographer said they have never seen as detailed of a form before, and it was great because it meant no stone was left unturned. At the wedding, Jim had impeccable stage presence. Everything was timed just as we had described it to him. He kept the dance floor full the entire night. Our guests had raving reviews, saying it was some of the best wedding music they've ever experienced. We also opted in for the up-lighting package, which really helped to create the perfect ambiance towards the end of the evening. Jim was extremely accommodating throughout the entire process. If we could, we would book Collins Entertainment again in a heartbeat. I would recommend to all of my family and friends!

Collins Entertainment to my friends and family.

was Collins Entertainment. From our very first meeting, Jim made us feel comfortable and at ease. Anytime we had a question, even the smallest thing, Jim encouraged us to hop on a Zoom call with him. This made the years, months, and days leading up to our wedding feel important and stress free. On the day of the wedding, Jim and Ryan were outstanding. Both are extremely professional, talented, and personable. From the ceremony to the reception, they became part of the party. They felt the vibe of the celebration and played music for all. What really stood out to us was the planning done with other vendors. Jim communicated with our officiant, venue, caterer, photographers, and videographers before our wedding. I believe that is what made our special day run smoothly. Thank you Jim and Ryan for being the center of our wedding!

s to it, and Collins Entertainment had it all covered from start to finish! There were so many details that we had not considered, like doing a "farewell dance" towards the end of the night. They also offered perspectives that we had not considered, like the benefits of doing wedding party introductions since we had not done programs. Because there is a team of DJs and they take incredible notes, it also means that there is a seamless transition in case of any emergencies. Our original DJ had a family medical emergency, but his colleague was able to step in without missing a beat (pun intended). We highly recommend!
