While the Colgate inn is a beautiful location I do think they are lacking in customer service. The event planner is very nice and did work hard to help achieve our goals. That bein...
g said a lot of things we had been expecting fell short in the end. A huge surprise up charge one month prior to our wedding is one of the biggest reasons for a 2 star review. We had already signed a contract and given half down when they decided to slide in an almost 5,000 dollar upcharge. The event planner did work hard to get the number back down but we still paid more in the end. We had also rented a separate room for the reception and weren’t given access until 2 hours prior to the event. I didn’t even have time to do a walk through! If you are a detail oriented bride who wants to be hands on with your decorating and details this is not the place for you. The customer service the day of was awful. I vacuumed my own room twice and when I had asked the front desk to bring some things up for us they responded with “no I can’t bring anything up but you can come down.” I just felt we were not treated as priority guests who were spending thousands of dollars. Our DJ was also yelled at multiple times to turn down the music even though one of the first things we asked before securing the event was of noise would be a problem, to which we were told, not at all and that we were free to have a late night party. The venue is beautiful but at the end they fell short on the small details and on some pretty big ones too.

special, especially the event coordinator Emily, who was amazing and went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect! The food and drinks are 5 stars! Highly recommend for any event!

ed our high expectations. We received so many compliments from our guests about how much they loved the Inn, and several guests mentioned that they wanted to come back to visit even though they don’t live anywhere close to the area. We don’t live in the area but have family nearby and will definitely be back plenty of times in the future.
Jana and her staff really took great care of us. They were accommodating of our requests and worked with us extensively to make sure that the whole weekend would go smoothly. We also used the Inn for our rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding, and went to the Tavern for brunch the day after the wedding, as well as for drinks the night before our wedding, and had a great experience with everything.
Thanks to Jana and everyone at the Colgate Inn for everything!!! We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend and can’t recommend the Colgate Inn highly enough!
