Figuring out food for our wedding was the most stressful part of planning, and it was ridiculous what some of the catering companies were charging for mediocre food. We are SO glad...
we ended up going with Chi'Lantro food truck! Not only was it delicious and flavorful, it was very "Austin" and also cost-effective. We chose four "grab and go" options (including the Korean BBQ bowl, the spicy pork bowl, the chicken bowl, and the marinated tofu bowl - an amazing option for vegetarians - this was important to me as I am a vegetarian myself) and then we asked guests in our invitations which option they would prefer. The Korean BBQ bowl was by far the most popular! We sent this information to Chi'Lantro ahead of time and then they had all of the meals prepared so the dinner service went super quickly. We also got chips and queso/guac/salsa and wings as appetizers. The truck itself was really cool and added a fun vibe to our venue (the Hummingbird House). The guests loved the food and we got so many compliments. We also used their basil peach lemonade in our signature cocktail (mixing it with vodka). Overall the team was wonderful to work with! We did end up ordering way too many chips + dip, and had a TON leftover; if I were to do it again I would order fewer chips and more wings (we ordered one full pan and it went quickly with 100 guests). Would highly recommend for any future brides and grooms!
The amount of food you get for the price is incredible! We decided to reduce our order and still had plenty of food left over. We went with one of the large buffets and one of the ...
smaller packages, wings, Kimchi fries, queso, and guacamole for our wedding with 100 guests. Everyone loved the food. The wings were the star of the show. Our guests from outside Austin were very impressed, and the buffet made it easy for people to build their tacos and rice bowls. We had beef, pork, chicken, and tofu — all equally delicious. We were able to order the tofu in smaller quantities ala carte for our vegetarian guests. The only complaint we had was that Chilantro is only in Austin and they will have to travel back to enjoy this fantastic food again. Best of all, the process of ordering and adjusting quantities was super easy and the Yvonne and the catering team were more than happy to help in any way possible.
Worked with us to make sure we would have the menu we wanted, and the guests were wowed by the food. Plus we got to take home leftovers!
Chilantro was such a hit at our wedding! The food was delicious and we're still hearing compliments about it months later! We even got some of our less adventurous friends and fami...
ly to try something new! They cooked from their food truck too, which was something we really wanted at our wedding. There was one little hiccup, just miscommunication on both sides, but the servers handled it so well that I don't think anyone even noticed!
Overall good experience. Our guests really enjoyed the food. I wish we had a chance to try our appetizers or if someone set some aside for us.
