The Chicago Athletic Association (CAA) was the perfect place to host our wedding. Having the majority of guests be from out of town, the CAA allowed us to have a one spot shop for the wedding. We hosted a welcome reception in their Game Room on Friday night followed by the wedding and reception on the 8th floor on Saturday. The 8th floor is the perfect spot, allowing for seamless transition from the Madison ballroom with its large, original chandeliers for the ceremony, to the foyer for cocktail hour, to the White City ballroom with its views over Millenium Park and Lake Michigan for the reception. The spaces in the CAA are already stunning, bringing you back to a bygone era of private clubs, needing little work to be done to make them wedding ready. The food is next level. The menu is catered to your tastes and guests order their entrees tableside. No need to set the menu before sending an invitation. It was by far the best wedding food we have experienced and the same was said by many of our guests. The team at the CAA is the best. Hannah was our event planner and was amazing. The day of staff was equally as great, making sure our guests had the best service. The hotel staff there is also incredibly friendly working through multiple requests of ours, always with a smile on our face. And the valet and doorman team could not have been nicer and more helpful on the coming and going. If you have been to the CAA, you will know how beautiful it is. We think the people and staff are just as good!

Where do I even begin? The Chicago Athletic Association wasn't just our wedding venue—it became the backdrop for one of the greatest weekends of our lives. The moment you walk through the doors, you're transported. The building has been meticulously restored, preserving all of the character and grandeur of another era while offering every modern amenity you could want. Every hallway, every staircase, every architectural detail tells a story. It feels distinctly Chicago while somehow transporting you to a bygone age of elegance and celebration. One of the things we loved most was the variety of event spaces. We hosted our welcome party in Stagg Court, our ceremony in the Madison Ballroom, and our reception in the White City Ballroom, and each space had its own unique personality. Stagg Court is unlike any venue we've ever experienced. The restored basketball court creates an atmosphere that's equal parts nostalgic and sophisticated—a perfect setting for welcoming family and friends to kick off the weekend. The Madison Ballroom was an absolutely stunning place to exchange our vows. The chandeliers, soaring ceilings, and timeless elegance created a ceremony space that felt intimate while still taking your breath away. Then came the White City Ballroom. Between the rich wood paneling, spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Millennium Park, and the warm glow that filled the room as the evening unfolded, it was simply magical. Every time we walked into that space, it felt like a scene from a classic film. Is the Chicago Athletic Association an inexpensive venue? No. But after experiencing our wedding weekend, I can honestly say we understood exactly what we were paying for. The service was exceptional from beginning to end. The staff anticipated needs before we even had to ask, and they embraced the little details that made our wedding uniquely ours. They enthusiastically helped bring our custom Dirty Soda Bar to life, making it one of the most talked-about elements of our reception. The food and beverage program was outstanding—something our guests are still talking about weeks later. It's rare to attend a wedding where people rave about the meal, but ours truly exceeded expectations. Perhaps the greatest compliment we can give the Chicago Athletic Association is this: our guests didn't just attend our wedding—they experienced an unforgettable weekend. From exploring the hotel and enjoying its incredible restaurants and bars to celebrating with us in some of Chicago's most beautiful event spaces, they felt like they were part of something truly special. To the entire team—especially Hannah, who guided us through planning our event, and Kim, who helped coordinate our hotel stay—thank you for making us feel cared for every step of the way. Your professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine excitement for our celebration never went unnoticed. If we could go back and choose our venue all over again, we wouldn't change a thing. The Chicago Athletic Association gave us more than a beautiful place to get married—it gave us the wedding weekend of our dreams.
