Cheeky Strut Salon / Siren & Proper

mum number of people to book. They were a higher price point compared to other options. We were reassured that, because they are a salon, there would be high level of standard and consistency across the stylists + artists. I was told that I would get to look at the different options for each and pick my stylists and artists which I didn’t get a change to do (I think it’s because I had a very specific time frame I could do my trial). There also didn’t seem to be many options or choices offered around things like airbrush makeup or different types of eyelashes, which I had expected from a bridal service (idk if that’s something that you could do with different artists). These things were just elements that didn’t really align to what we had been told previously, but didn’t really have a major impact. There were two elements I was disappointed with, particularly given the cost of paying hundreds for these services… 1. I think some personnel were more willing to ask whether we liked the finished look and seemed disappointed when I asked to make some changes. I also felt that some of the direction I had given wasn’t fully incorporated. 2. The biggest issue was the hair.. it started falling out within a couple of hours. There was a lot of talk about it was really humid. In my opinion, that really is not acceptable. I was really clear that this was an outdoor event and I think booking a wedding, there needs to be a level of “hold” that just wasn’t there from the beginning. Multiple of us, including myself the bride, ended up having to re-curl it multiple times throughout the day. I appreciate that outdoor conditions can make styling more difficult, but I would expect bridal hair to be styled with this in mind, particularly given the price. There were definitely positives, and the final look was good overall, but I do think that for the price there is room for improvement.

the future. It was $330 for the bridal hair and ended up being approximately $85 for travel services for about 13 miles round trip. We did not have a wedding party so I only got my hair done.

ylists and did not like what I was seeing. I contacted Cheeky Strut as a stressed out bride hoping they could squeeze me in for a trial. I worked with Lindsey on coordinating everything and she was so much more organized and detailed than any other salon coordinator I had talked to before. She was what initially sold me on hiring them for my wedding day. Then when my mom, mother of the groom, and I went in for our hair trials, I was blown away by Summer’s service. She is so talented and so kind and made me and the moms feel beautiful. The entire experience was fun and memorable and they let us have wine and snacks while we hung out together in the salon. Summer did two looks for me - a half up half down, and a low bun. Both were STUNNING and I was so relieved that I finally found a stylist that could execute my vision. She made it look so easy. For my wedding day, Summer did hair for 5 girls and Grace for 4 girls. Every single bridesmaid said they LOVED the cheeky strut stylists and were so impressed. We all felt beautiful and had fun and it was just an incredible day because they are just very talented people. 10/10 would recommend working with this Salon!

families and realized 16 people would need hair and makeup. We looked around at various GR area vendors and when we came across Cheeky Strut + Siren Proper, decided they had the modern elegance we were looking for. I haven't personally had event makeup or hair done, but have been in plenty of weddings to know sometimes wedding makeup can look a bit, well, clownish? (Please don't come for me!!) I know it needs to be a bit bolder for pictures and such, but when your very best friend comes out from getting her makeup done and you are left speechless (not in a good way), it's just, a lot. And that's exactly what we heard from pretty much all our girls! They were ecstatic to not feel like they had makeup plastered all over their faces and mismatched/too dark of foundations. All our friends will always be beautiful to us, but they truly glammed the girls up without changing what they look like if that make sense. The hair was beautiful and everyone picked whatever they wanted and I heard no complaints. Thank you so much for all the hard work getting through so many girls and letting your talents show so beautifully at our wedding.
