When looking at wedding venues, Charles Krug was somewhat under the radar for us. It was the last place we saw, and I'm glad we did go see it because we absolutely loved everything...
about it!! We did our ceremony on the lawn in front of the Carriage House and reception upstairs at the Carriage House. It's a beautiful blank slate to work with that felt comfortable yet intimate for our 120 guests. There are certainly pros and cons of having to bring everything (but the wine) in yourself - we selected our own caterer, rentals, beer and champagne... which we enjoyed being able to select all ourselves. But it definitely takes more organization than other venues that do a lot of these things for you. They require you to hire a planner, which makes sense given the level of organization required.
I think what really set Charles Krug apart from many of the other places we saw is it's set back far from the road, so you don't see or notice loud traffic on the busy street (which we did notice visiting other spots). They also have a really nice bridal suite on the property which you can rent for the day - worked really well for our day-of preparations! It's really a classic wine country wedding spot in the heart of Napa.

der the big trees with the vineyard behind us. The reception was held upstairs in the Carriage House. The venue was unique and perfectly situated in the valley. The staff at Charles Krug was great to work with. We rented the guest house for the day for the wedding parties. We had so much fun on the day of the wedding relaxing. This venue cannot be beat. The history and wine added a special element to our big day!

emony backdrop. The upstairs reception hall in the Carriage House is incredible! It features high vaulted ceilings, reclaimed wood from old wine barrels, and a large dance floor that is perfect for any wedding. They also have so many great options for wine and let you bring your own bubbly.
