She worked with us to design the flowers for custom aisle arrangements we had made and we received so many compliments on all of the flowers at our wedding. am at Carl Alan!

xtra communication a few days before as it seemed like some of our ideas were lost in the shuffle BUT Greg came through on the day-of and everything matched our bright and bold vision perfectly. We were floored when we saw the final flowers and had to stop ourselves from taking our entire sweetheart table setup home with us.

still life paintings of the Dutch Masters with lush florals, fruit, and gold accents. Greg picked up absolutely every cue, always had a positive attitude, offered thoughtful feedback, and delivered better than I could have ever dreamed. When I showed Greg the ceremony altar structure that I loved (a minimalist white frame), he assured me that their carpenter could build it. When I wasn't sure about ceremony florals, he developed a gorgeous concept based on my preferences. And when I told him I'd like to honor my recently-deceased father by including a specific flower in the bouquet, he did - and also included several of my father's Naval medals among other things. I cannot say enough positive things about Greg, and about the team at Carl Alan. The only downside is that I don't get to hang out with him anymore now that the wedding's over!

very helpful suggestions! Even when floral delivery was running late because of traffic, Greg made sure we were updated with their location! Everyone loved the flowers and centerpieces! They all came out beautiful! Thank you so much for making our special day beautiful!

ted by the amount of other vendors who I’d speak with and then give me a proposal that blew my budget out of the water. Carl Alan was, from the jump, respectful of my boundaries and worked with me to find ways to incorporate beautiful florals into my day in a creative and resourceful fashion. I worked with Sasha and she was responsive, organized, and warm. I had given her and the team my late mother’s wedding shoes to fashion into a surprise design for my memorial table and they really took it and ran with it and it turned out beautifully. They were so eager to hear about how I liked that and the rest of the florals and appreciated that they cared so much. Absolutely would recommend!

we desired. The team at Carl Alan Floral is the epitome of what a wedding florist should be. Highly recommend!

ner and he was awesome too! Their warehouse is gorgeous and was super cool to get to visit and see the design process. We weren't sure how the final product would turn out as we weren't too specific with our asks, but the designs (especially our ceremony space) was beyond our expectations. So happy we chose Carl Alan!!

stressed. He stayed with us the entire planning phase and was open to creating our vision with his input as well and it ended up being so beautiful on the wedding day! We cannot recommend them enough. Also their new space in Fairmount is gorgeous and it was fun to see everything in person again after COVID!

ed so beautiful!

ng back and forth since we kept changing our minds about what we wanted. He was responsive and extremely accommodating. Before the ceremony, I caught a glimpse of the setup and I cried at how beautiful it all was. It was just perfect! When we had our room reveal, we both gasped at how gorgeous everything was. It was everything we wanted, plus so much more. I'm getting my bouquet preserved because it was just too beautiful not to. The wonderful people setting everything up were on time and extremely professional. I would highly recommend Carl Alan to anyone!

recommended them. Communication was difficult and they acted like they were doing me a favor. I was VERY specific - I sent emails, photos and insisted on a walk through with the "coordinator". I was furious last night as when I saw the abysmal arrangements - NOT one peony, garden rose or dahlia after they added an extra $2000 to our contract because we wanted those "expensive" flowers. I was beyond embarrassed. 15 minutes before the cocktail hour, I was feverishly moving candles on the staircase because they were not done correctly. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! They are terrible . Costco or Wegmans have nicer arrangements.

in the planning process and he was very, very nice. Cons: The team did not deliver on multiple things we talked about ahead of our reception. Our sweetheart table did not have flowers on it as discussed (only greens which I’m sure is much cheaper) and they did not use pillars to display flowers on the sides of the table. The team who set up was nice, but they ran late even though they were aware of the allotted time for them to set up. We were planning to rent additional vases for a couple hundred dollars and they did not end using them. The venue made sure I was aware of this too (because they used their vases instead). Since they did not use them, I asked to be refunded for what I paid for the additional vases (nothing else, I was going to let the sweetheart table issues go) and was basically ignored. I was told they were sending a check, never received one… then followed up a couple times and never heard back. After spending thousands and thousands of dollars on flowers with them, it is mind boggling to me that they cannot return a couple hundred dollars that we are owed. Our wedding reception was last May (2021) so they have had plenty of time. Does not seem ethical to me at all and because of this I will not use them for any future events or recommend them.

first issue was that I worked with three different people, which is not their fault, but COVID turnover issues. That said, there was never any communication when the staffed changed, I would just send an email and get a “oh they’re gone, it’s me now!”. Despite notes made during appointments, it was like starting from square one each time. At one point, about three weeks before our wedding, an employee who we never worked with emailed me twice about “meeting to solidify my vision”. Despite asking what was going on twice to our final contact (Alaina), the questions were completely avoided and I have no idea what was going on there. So, communication was not the best here. The next issue was with the florals themselves. My wedding planner put together three PowerPoint slides of inspiration including three similar bridal bouquets. I can not tell you the number of times, in person AND email, that my planner and I pointed these photos out to Alaina for inspiration. I was nervous, because the ideas she was pulling were not the same style, color gradient, or shape. So, we pointed her towards these three examples again and again and she was very reassuring. The day before the wedding, while I was getting ready for rehearsal, she sent me a photo of my bouquet to make sure I liked it. Thank GOODNESS she did, because it was truly terrible. My vision was a loose floral, nothing round, with colors ranging red to maroon. The photo was a bright red, perfectly round ball with some pieces dangling off the bottom. I told her no, sent the sample photos AGAIN and pulled in my planner. Alaina had the nerve to say to say to my planner that “I wasn’t feeling my bouquet”. Of course I wasn’t!! Thankfully my planner and Alaina took care of it. Day of, my florals were delivered early and my bridal bouquet was huge, but beautiful. However, accompanying it were five perfectly round, bright red basketball shapes for my bridesmaids. I guess I should have been worried about their florals too! Ultimately, I appreciate the through text and that they fixed my bouquet. Everything photographed well, and it was what it was. After the wedding, one of their employees there to do breakdown lost her coat which contained her cellphone and keys. She came over to me, the bride, in the lobby actively talking to guests at our after party and said “I’m sorry but I need you to ask your guests if they have my coat otherwise I can’t go home” and walked away. My guests immediately said, no, you don’t ask the bride to do that, and took it over instead, resolving the situation for me. Who purposefully comes to the bride, and only the bride, on her wedding night? Go to hotel security! A bridesmaid! The FOB! Not the bride or groom! This was a frustrating end to my experience with them. Overall, I don’t know that I would recommend this company. Everything turned out…fine. But just fine, since the bridesmaids didn’t get what I wanted. So I’d say, “hire with caution” and to look at other options here.

y changed my mind. He knew exactly what I wanted and was so easy to work with. I would give Carl Alan 100 stars if I could!

premium and elegant. I wanted to use my mother's wedding veil and piece of dress to wrap my bridal bouquet in, and they did so beautifully!! They set up, broke down, and delivered everything on time and perfectly. They even did a double check with me morning of. Definitely worth the investment!

ey quickly sourced it locally without my having to do a thing. I never worried for a second about the floral or design on my wedding day. They just took care of it all. I first met with one of their designers about 11 months before my wedding and she completely understood my vision for the day. We agreed on a beautiful table design, ceremony design, and bouquet and they delivered on each of these the day of the wedding. I even ended up with more floral pieces than I had originally thought I would get which was a great surprise. The only downside is that they seem to have a lot of turnover. In the 11 months since my first contact with them, I went through at least 3 different designers. Every few months when I would reach out with a question or request, I got someone new. While they keep rather good notes of what was decided on so the transition is somewhat painless, I feel some of the overall look of the day and details got lost in the shuffle. It was still beautiful overall and no one but me could really tell anything was off. However, I was slightly disappointed that it wasn't exactly what I had envisioned all those months ago.

budget. The flowers on our wedding day were extraordinary and exactly what we wanted. Do not hesitate to hire this team.

way. They worked with us for our smaller ceremony since we had to postpone our original celebration due to Covid. They even personally drove to bring my bouquet to my home the day of so I wouldn't be so rushed up. On our reception day (a year later), the entire team showed up and showed out. We were especially impressed with the table decor and the fresh flowers that were placed on our wedding cake. CARL ALAN IS THE BEST!

hey carried out our fruit tables-cape very elegantly. I could not be happier with how everything came out!!

nd accomplishing gorgeous arrangements! They had the candelabras on hand so I didn't have to worry about rental. He communicated throughout every step of the process and even texted me a picture of my bouquet the day before (that was such a sweet touch). I am so happy with how everything turned out!

our wedding florals that are far more professional. If you want piece of mind with your florist, stay away from this one. My neice paid over $350 in delivery fees and Carl Alan employees showed up in a hatchback, 3 hours late and 20 minutes prior to the ceremony. Flowers were beginning to wilt, a lot of foliage had alreqdy wilted but more importantly, my neice is missing her bouquet in 95% of her pictures. Can't bring back those memories. This was a small wedding so I assume it wasn't important enough for Carl Alan to communicate day of that they were going to almost miss the wedding entirely. Generally when something like this happens, you contact the bride or person in charge and communicate what is going on. Not these guys. Also don't expect a return call when you call after the wedding to discuss what happened. 4 phone calls went unanswered, but the check was cashed! That tells me they know they messed up and arent willing to do a darn thing about it. Horrible way to treat a young bride on her wedding day. Award winning florist must not include customer service. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR FLOWERS.

ceremony and >3hrs late from the time specified so I missed all but 10 minutes of photographs with my florals. In addition, there was no phone call day of telling me of the delay so myself and my bridesmaids had to reach out every 30 mins asking for updates while in the middle of photos. The flowers showed up in a hatchback looking 4 days old and wilted and there has been no contact from them since- even though my Aunt has called 3 times in the past week and the GENERAL MANAGER was the one who delivered my flowers late and in bad condition so management is very aware of the issue. I can only assume since I was a smaller wedding (80 people) that they do not care enough to even return our phone calls or issue any type of acknowledgment of this awful service. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

really appreciated that Carl Alan was willing to work within our budget and truly listened to what we wanted. We got married December 2020 in the midst of the COVID pandemic so we had quite a few curveballs thrown at us and Alexa was extremely responsive and made us feel at ease. Because of the pandemic, we only had a ceremony on our original date and then postponed our reception to a year later and Carl Alan made it so easy to work out the logistics and proposal. We even had a last minute change due to the restrictions and our venue and Alexa took care of all the adjustments to the decor so we didn't even have to think about it or worry about the last minute changes. Alexa and Carl Alan pulled together a beautiful re-design for our ceremony in just 1-2 days! I really can't thank them enough for rolling with the punches and staying so positive and joyful throughout the planning. In addition to the wonderful service we received, our flowers and decor was so stunning! We received many, many compliments and even got asked who our florist was because friends were interested for themselves! We were very, very happy and we are looking forward to working with Alexa again for our reception this year! Thank you Alexa & Carl Alan Floral Designs!

better. They are personable, professional, and some of the nicest people! Highly recommend!

dles we are absolutely breathtaking! We received so many compliments about how elegant and beautiful our wedding was. We had to move our wedding day and Alexa and the team were so easy to work with. They responded super quickly and we’re always willing to work with me for any changes that I asked for. I highly recommend using Carl Alan Flowers as your wedding day for us!

ay and did not disappoint !

whole staff was so helpful and thoroughly communicated every detail with my husband and I, from floral decor to the finances! Greg Stone and the design team could not have done a better job at bringing our wedding day vision to life. Every detail we worked out came to life (it honestly made me so emotional!). They really listened to what we were looking to do and took into account health and safety regulations due to COVID-19. So many of us were impacted by the pandemic (brides, vendors, etc) but working with Carl Alan made us feel so comfortable and confident in our dream wedding becoming reality. I would( and have already) recommend Carl Alan to any future bride or anyone looking to have five-star experience working with a florist. Thank you all so much at Carl Alan Floral Designs for making our day a total dream come true!!!

l Alan's customer service to be above and beyond any of the other florists I met with (and I checked out several). Alexa sat with me, for several hours, really listened to me and helped bring my vision to life in real time! We got to actually work with the flowers themselves, the candles, the table arrangements, try out different props, see it under dim light, and more. That was SO valuable and meant more than just some pictures on a board. AND, to top it off, Alexa was amazing and willing to go see the newer venue I had chosen to help me design an installation around the dance floor. That's what really sealed the deal for me-- I could tell she loved what she does, and was willing to go the extra mile (literally) to help me realize my vision. I know I went to Carl Alan for different design than what they usually do -- I think they are known for more romantic and traditional, yet I was interested in tropical, structured, modern and minimalist. I thought Alexa did an excellent job with it!! She also worked with me being really sensitive to my budget and was creative about what we could repurpose and reuse to save money. The one aspect I did not like as much was the traditional approach of a florist that starts with centerpieces. This criticism of mine likely applies with almost all florists, though, not just Carl Alan. I would have preferred to start creating and visioning based on the event design I would have liked, and then figure out what floral and design pieces are needed to create it -- installations, alternative center pieces, decorating special structures in the venue, etc. Instead, the process was a bit more fixed/dictated in moving from centerpieces, to personals, to chuppah, etc. That is one of my few criticisms and, again, likely applies to most florists. Thank you for the UNBEATABLE customer service, Alexa, Bobby, Carl Alan Schwartz and team :)

ed without trying to upsell anything. They were very understanding of our budget and worked with us to minimize cost where possible. They created the most gorgeous bouquets! Mine included succulents and I have been able to plant them and keep them :) They dropped off the bouquets and bouts in plenty of time and at two separate locations and they set up the centerpieces at the venue without a hitch. I highly recommend Carl Alan!

fully listened to my daughter's ideas and preferences then created a lovely plan that fit into our budget. He also took some of the stress out of the day for us by offering to place our personal decor items at the reception for us . The bouquets he created were elegant with the freshest of flowers and many of our guests commented on the beautiful centerpieces and asked for our florist's name. I would enthusiastically recommend Carl Alan to any bride!

I was the type that didn't know exactly what I wanted for my wedding flowers and instead wanted to leave it up to the experts. We worked with Vito, who was absolutely fantastic to work with and he was happy to take the lead on designing the flowers and candles to match the ambience that we wanted for our reception. It's truly an art that he and the rest of the company have perfected. Vito kept as close to our budget as he could, and we were thrilled with how everything turned out.

in literally thinking that I’d have no idea what to say to them. Fear not. It’s as if the designer went inside my brain and drew out what my vision was without me even saying too much. I am sooooo incredibly happy with the outcome of everything Carl Alan Floral Designs did for our wedding. When we walked into the reception I almost started crying because of how beautiful my tables looked. Carl Alan has been in the business for 100 years and their designer Christopher is truly an artist. HIRE THEM NOW!

had made I gasped. I never thought my wedding could be so sophisticated, so stunning, and so OUT OF THIS WORLD. From day one, they were all so kind and generous with their time and effort, and everything, from the bouquets to the tables, were beyond amazing.  I asked them to make a bouquet for me and my mother, and they gave us a matched pair that made my mother tear up. About a month before the wedding I realized I had given them the wrong table count and forgotten to include our head table for our wedding party. Carl Alan resolved the issue with no problem - I had one phone call with our point person Alexa and she gave us her ideas and the problem was resolved! They were kind and considerate of our budget, and., despite our budget being small, their ideas remained breathtaking. Carl Alan is the best choice for flowers for your wedding - big or small - and I will be forever thankful I chose them for our big day!

was able to add on to our contract after deciding later to add a fresh bouquet without any issue. Really enjoyed receiving the surprise sneak peak pics via texts from a designer making my bouquet 2 days prior to the wedding. Removed a star because 3 of our boutonnieres broke during pictures before the wedding (easily fixed two and they provided a backup in case), and also because they did another NYE wedding the same night for a different couple, even though I think we were told they only do 1 per night. I could be mistaken about being told that. The other wedding was the one that was posted on their Instagram page, so we were a bit disappointed to see ours wasn’t enough to be featured even though we spent quite a bit, but this is obviously not an expectation as they do many amazing weddings. Definitely recommend CAF!

eautiful. Working with their planners and florists was so easy. They immediately understand the look we had in mind and executed it perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you all so much!!!!!

and even sends a photo of your bouquet the night before the wedding which was really cool! If you are looking for a florist, go with Carl Alan, you won’t regret it!

with the most glamorous and fantastic floral arrangements for the ceremony, reception, and bouquets. The day before my wedding I was sent pictures of bridal and bridesmaid bouquets and I was very disappointed in how they were coming out. Florists at Carl Alan (Chris specifically) didn’t stop working until I was 100% happy. Day of wedding they were better than I could have ever imagined! Must choose Carl Alan for your florist and you will not be disappointed!

ment are exemplary and trustworthy. They made me feel special every step of the way. Thank you for being part of my special day!

sion out of my head that I could not articulate, and it came out perfect. He was also very honest with us about what we did and did not need, and their whole package was very well-priced. On the day of our wedding, everything was set up exactly how we discussed, the bouquets were delivered right on time and it was just perfect. They are truly the best choice for your Philly wedding, I cannot say that enough!!

n was also the only floral company willing to give us actual quotes at the beginning of the process, which was huge for us. It was a joy working with them - highly recommend!

ry first meeting with them. They made the vision I didnt even know I had come to life. Not to mention we had a mailing issue in which our final check ended up arriving several days after it was due. They ordered the flowers anyways and were completely reasonable and nice about the entire situation. I would 100% hire them again if I had to go back!

floral vision. He took the time to answer all of our questions, and helped us pick out the colors to go with our motif. Vito and his team did a beautiful job during set up on wedding day, and everything looked absolutely perfect. I also loved that I was able to see a picture of my bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets the day before to make sure they were just as I imagined!

to to the mock-up meeting to our actual wedding day, we were continually blown away by their creativity and floral talent. While we had a more limited budget, they never made us feel cheap, they worked within our budget, and they always made us feel like one of their high-end customers. Better yet, they created stunning floral pieces that our guests could take home at the end of the night so our guests continued to enjoy our flowers even after the wedding was over. We highly recommend them!
